Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Bewitched Bond. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own RWBY, Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth do.
The Geist roared as Glynda battered it with a tree trunk. The hulking beast tried to swat her away only to be met by Crim wrapping Firebrand around the arm. He yanked and pulled to keep it locked in place.
"Whenever you guys feel like it!" Crim shouted at his teammates as they questioned how best to defeat and destroy the Grimm. "But in all seriousness? Please hurry the hell up before this thing…" Crim started to say before the massive monster swung its arm.
Crim crashed through the trunk of a tree, his aura flashing a deep red as he sighed and tried to shake off the damage. That hurt, a lot, and the damage sustained to his Aura meant trying to subdue the Grimm was harder.
Glynda continued to smash items into the Grimm using her semblance. She hurled rocks, trees, parts of the stone wall, all at the beast. Glynda watched as Crim recovered and rushed back into the battle, his nunchucks twirling like pinwheels.
Crim wasn't looking to kill the Geist so easily. He already knew his weapon wouldn't smash through its core so easily.
No, he was setting it up for the others to try and smash through its body. A Geist was easy to kill when you tore away the body protecting the golem making Grimm.
Port raised his weapon and fired. Crim watched as a spread of fireballs erupted from the muzzle of the weapon, all headed at the Grimm.
The massive Geist growled as the Dust powered projectiles ripped its right arm clean off.
(Present Times)
Crim put the pile of books down and brushed off his arms. He sighed and rubbed at his temples in sheer exhaustion. This had been cleanup for SEVERAL HOURS.
"Glyn, how much more wore do we have to do?" Crim asked as he slowly walked his way across the ruined floor to get to Glynda. "We've been here for hours and still doesn't look like we've gotten any work done on this yet." Crim asked his former partner.
It wasn't that he didn't enjoy cleaning the place up. Crim already knew the place had a lot of sentimental value to someone like her.
It was the fact that the place somehow looked way dirtier then when they started. Crim could still see overturned chairs, ripped up papers like the ones under their feet. He could also see smashed computer screens with exposed wires covered the far walls.
The place looked like a storm cut through it, and it didn't seem like anything was going to change that outlook anytime soon.
"We keep cleaning until this place looks presentable." Glynda stated as she waved the Disciplinarian around. "We need to set up a proper base." Glynda added as she continued her self-appointed task of cleaning up the entire building.
Crim rolled his eyes. "You really think this place hasn't been patched up before?" Crim asked while he started to point out holes in the wall that had long since been around before the invasion of Vale.
Some buildings in Vale were older than the legends spawned from them. Crim did have to admit that the place was beautiful, it was serene and inviting.
"Glyn, I might love being your partner?" Crim asked before moving a chair closer to him as he sat down. "But you have HORRIBLE taste in where to use as a base." Crim stated as he brushed off his hands with a sigh.
"This isn't a military base, it's a school." Crim pointed out as he gestured to the walls around him. "We cannot run Beacon from this place and it already looks like the ceiling is going to cave." Crim added to Glynda who sighed and looked around.
Yes, the library was broken and demolished. Glynda wasn't blind or had trouble seeing the bigger picture. Glynda DID however, pride herself on knowing more than most others.
"This is one of the quietest, secluded, and most easily defendable position." Glynda started to say as she marched around the room. "This place is so ancient and quiet that nobody would expect us to be here, Crim." Glynda finished, her circuit complete around the room while she kept eye contact with Crim the entire time.
She knew Crim far too well. Crim knew his partner could and would see through his attempts to find other ways to get this much work done.
"I still don't think it's safe here. You and I know FAR too well how much Grimm can and will rip apart everything human. They spare Faunus just as much." Crim started to say before he made his own circuit around the room, wanting to stretch his legs.
"We need manpower to fix Beacon, and I'm starting to realize how and when we could." Crim stated as he looked at Glynda.
"If we're going to do work? We do work the regular way."
