For the next few weeks, Sakura worked with Sasuke heavily on his rehabilitation. Before they could even begin to interrogate and incarcerate the youngest Uchiha, Sakura needed to make sure that he was healthy enough to live through it. Sasuke had been moved to a private room in the hospital meant for hostile ninja. It was built of sturdier stuff and had been retrofitted to hold chains that prevented the use of chakra from the person who was entombed in the room. There had also been sealing jutsu added to the perimeter of the room as well. Though Sasuke had not even tested the perimeter of his new cage. He rarely left the bed.
"Sasuke? Are you decent?" Sakura called out from behind the door to his room.
"Yes Sakura. I am. Please come in." She heard him call to her.
He watched as she came in. She had filled out. While in his care, Sakura had received nothing but abuse and her skin had slowly changed color to be paler. Now he saw her with the sun-kissed skin tone he was used to. His mark still shone through under her shirt. He could see every scar that he had created on her and he could not believe he had done that. It had been like a dream or a nightmare. His conciseness was there, but he could not control his own body. His thoughts were able to drive it somewhat.
"Sasuke?" Sakura asked him again as he had been lost in thought.
"Sorry. What was it?"
"Are you feeling okay? Any pain or issue?" Sakura asked him again.
"No. I'm the picture of perfect health thanks to your dedication. I assume that is my interrogator behind you." Sasuke said as he sat up in his bed.
"Yes. After I complete this physical, I will be turning your care over to them. The man behind me you know. The woman next to him is his medical ninja. You will be taken care of." Sakura said as she looked him over one last time. "He's all yours Ibiki."
And with that she was gone. Sasuke could understand why she was being so distant with her. He had done so many things to hurt her. He watched as Ibiki came over to him and laid out his tools.
"You won't need those. What do you want to know? I will tell you anything you want to know."
"Well then. Let's get started."

Several weeks later
Sakura laid out the dished on the table. She was having her entire family over. Naruto, Ino, Kakashi, Tsunade, and even Sasuke was coming. Though he had been an order from the Lady to complete his rehabilitation. She grabbed several bottles of sake and a few of wine to give everyone a great choice of drink. Itachi was in the kitchen cooking up some fried rice with the Uchiha family recipe. Everyone would be arriving soon.
"Sakura. I got you something. It's in the bedroom. I hope that you will like it." Itachi said as he began to plate up the food.
"Okay. Everything here is set up so, I am going to head in and get it. "Sakura smiled at him as she left.
Inside the room there sat on the bed, the most perfect kimono she had ever seen. Even more than the one she had been on that first night with Itachi. It was just as silky smooth, this time however, the Uchiha fan was far more prominent on it. What stood out most though, was the small blue box that sat in the middle of the dress. Sakura shakily grabbed the box and opened it. Inside sat a delicate ring with a set of 3 stones. One ruby and one Dimond on either side of a much larger sapphire. It was all placed in a silver vine-like band. Sakura stared at it.
"Will you marry me?" Itachi's soft voice startled her.
"When did you know?" Sakura asked as she turned to him.
"I knew that first night. The one where we both drank to much. I had wanted you and it was not all the drink talking. I gave the scroll to Kakashi because I knew, I wanted to come home to you every night. I also knew that if we were not here, you could not have truly been happy. I wanted both to come home and to have you as my wife." Itachi said as he grabbed the ring from her. "What is your answer?"
She smiled at him and nodded her head. "Yes. I will be your wife. The food is burning darling."
The look on his face was priceless as it went from loving and care to running out to get the burned rice into the sink before it started a fire. Sakura giggled and helped him cool the pan down.
"Go get dressed. I got this from here. Sasuke will be here any minute. I asked him to come earlier than everyone else. I wanted him to know first. If that is alright?" Itachi shooed her away.
She smiled and nodded as she left to get dressed. Not long after his brother came into the house. Itachi had told him to just walk in. Sasuke had been set up in another house of the district, one smaller but still, Sakura and himself had spent several days getting it ready for him. Sakura had come a long way since her fight with Sasuke. She was still wary of him, but she seemed to be getting better.
"Little brother. Welcome home. I know I haven't seen you since you got out of the hospital, but I hope that this dinner makes you feel like you are welcome in our home." Itachi said as he hugged the younger man.
"Yes. It's gonna be nice to eat something that isn't bland." Sasuke said as he set his sandals down.
"It's still gonna be bland for you. Sakura had me make a special batch of everything to meet your dietary needs. She said you're still restricted." Itachi said as he started making more fried rice.
"I need food that has taste nii-san. Don't let her ruin it for me!" Sasuke playfully shouted.
"Lucky for you, I already set aside your food." Itachi tapped his forehead, "And it is full of flavor. Don't tell Sakura. I don't want to piss off my fiancé."
At the word fiancé Sasuke stopped pouting and just looked at his brother.
"Itachi. You asked her to marry you?" Sasuke said with envy in his voice.
"I did. She said yes. I wanted you to be the first to know about it. I hope you can understand." Itachi smiled at the boy.
"This fantastic news! Where is my sister in law to be?!" Sasuke shouted uncharacteristically into the home.
He heard a small laugh as Sakura came out from her and Itachi's bedroom. She wore a stunning kimono and he walked over. Stopping several feet from her as he could see she was getting a little more uncomfortable with every step he took.
"Congratulations. I just heard. I can't wait to have you as part of my family. My brother is a very lucky man. You are a strong woman and you deserve all the best." Sasuke said as he held out a scroll to her.
"What's this?" Sakura asked.
"I found it deep in the catacombs of the family graveyard. I was going to wait until your birthday to give it to you, but now seems far better a time to give it to you both." Sasuke smiled as she took it and opened it.
"Itachi!" Sakura squeaked as she read it through several times.
"What is it Sakura?" Itachi asked as he finished up the last dish and a few more guests arrived.
"It's a way to get rid of your mark. It's a reversal jutsu." Sakura said.
The next sound was of the fried rice hitting the ground as Itachi teleported to her side and took the scroll from her. It was indeed a jutsu that would remove his claim mark from around her neck. Permanently. It looked simple enough to execute. He could do it later tonight after he gathered some supplies. He watched as Sakura teared up and ran into Sasuke giving him a very big hug. His brother immediately tensed up until he realized what was going on and wrapped his hands around her small shoulders.
"Thank you. This is the best gift I could have been given. Thank you." Sakura said as she let go.
"I know you want that mark gone. I wanted to find some way to make up to you everything I've done. I knew that there had to be a way to undo the mark." Sasuke said as he began to clean up the rice from the floor.
She looked at Itachi and went to go and greet the guests that had just arrived. Naruto and Hinata, Ino and Sai, as well as Tsunade and Shizune had all arrived just in time to hear the news of the mark. Many congratulated her on being able to get rid of her mark. Not knowing that she had other news for the night. Sakura sat everyone down and waited as Itachi gave everyone a drink.
"I look around and I see only family. My teacher, my friends, and my team. Kakashi is out on a mission, but I am sure he would be 40 minutes late if he were here. I wanted to share some news I would- "Sakura began as she held up her glass.
"Sorry, I'm late. I ran back as fast as I could." Kakashi said as he came in the house his care covered in leaves.
"You made it! Here, sit Kaka-sensei. I am so glad you're here. And for once, your right on time." Sakura said as she hugged the old man.
"I supposed it was to start at 7 and you started early. Go on, I am sorry to have interrupted you" Kakashi said as he took a drink from Sasuke.
"Thank you, as I was saying. I have news. Itachi and I are getting married." Sakura smiled and looked at him.
Everyone was jumping over each other to be the first to congratulate the happy couple except Sasuke, who already had known.
"This is wonderful news! I can't wait for this. It's gonna be the biggest wedding in forever." Ino said as she hugged the girl.
"I hope not. I would prefer something simple and small." Sakura giggled.
"That won't be possible. You are Tsunade's apprentice, Kakashi's student, you're the head of the hospital, and you are marrying the head of a clan. Your wedding would have been massive on any one of those, all together and the whole village may get shut down." Naruto said as he got in his hug.
"I suppose your right. Good thing we have all that family money we will be able to use and massive space to hold everyone in." Sakura smiled as she looked at Itachi who seemed to be getting a talking to by both Tsunade and Kakashi.
After that, the night went well. Itachi had sent out a clone to get the few things he needed so that he could get rid of the mark he had placed on her. It seemed so long ago that this had all happened. Now she was living with him, of her own free will. She was going to be his wife. In a village he loved with all his heart, the woman he loved with all his heart. She had gone to get ready for it, changing out of the kimono she had worn for dinner.
His brother sat at the table making preparations for the ritual as it needed a second set of hands to go off without a hitch. He sat at the table next to him and finished up the prep work and waited. Sakura came out a few minutes later with her hair up in a bun that TenTen had shown her how to do so that her neck was open on all sides. The shirt she wore also left her shoulders open to him. He had her sit on the ground and he began his work. Painting markings from her neck, down her body and onto the floor. There sat a doll that looked very much like her. Having her hair even.
"Are you ready? This is going to hurt." Itachi asked as he kissed her.
"Yes. Sasuke are you ready?" Sakura asked him.
He nodded and began his hand signs. Soon the markings all over began to glow. Making her skin warmer and warmer until it began to feel as though it as she was being burned alive. She bit her lip hard to keep from crying out. It hurt like hell, and it took forever. At some point, she passed out and was using Itachi's knees to keep holding up. The marks began to move from her neck toward the doll and when they were all on the doll, it was over. Itachi knelt and looked at Sakura. Her neck as clean and unmarked as the day he had met her. No mark remained where Sasuke had marked her either. She was free.
He grabbed her up and placed her in their bed. Tucking her in since she was always cold. He thanked Sasuke and sent him on his way home. He then cleaned up a little and joined Sakura in slumber. Ready for a life of happiness.
