If King Dark thinks he's going to be ending X's story early he's about to get a harsh lesson. Not that he won't come close, as his next monster is going to demonstrate. He just really underestimates the determination of a Kamen Rider. Disclaimer: I don't own Kamen Rider, Angel Beats, or any other referenced media.
*The four previous Riders, X, Angel, Life, and SSS, drive down the road. They part their formation to reveal a blue-armored warrior with eye symbols over his armor, driving a modified Suzuki TM250. This is the last of the Battlefront Riders, Kamen Rider Eyez on his Sapphire Storm.*

Chapter 28: Unleash Mercury Power!
It was nighttime at the manner of a particular scientist, and a shadowy spider was appearing before shifting into a painting of Napoleon Bonaparte. A spider dropped in front of the man as he was doing his work, only to leap at his throat and bite him. As he dropped to the ground, a spider humanoid dressed as Napoleon approached. The painting was suddenly missing its main subject. And that wasn't even the monster's only victim that night.
'Thirteen victims in total so far,' Keitaro noted, 'And there's something else that concerns me.' "What's that?," Yusa asked. 'An analysis of Franken Bat showed he was specifically designed to try and counter Kamen Rider X. But he was stymied when forces he hadn't studied entered the picture. If GOD really has managed to analyze Yuzuru, and maybe even Akira, then we will need to boost X's power to compensate.'
He unveiled a brilliant blue crystal. 'This crystal seems to be emitting a wavelength identical to the planet Mercury. Whatever it is, it holds great power. And a thorough analysis shows that it is compatible with Yuzuru's cybernetics. If necessary, we can use this to boost his power, and overcome King Dark's schemes. But back to the most important matter. Are there any clues to these murders?' "Just a portrait of Napoleon found at each crime scene," Yusa noted.
Later at the home of Yoichiro Nonaka, the portrait could be found once more amidst a stormy night. Yui and Iwasawa were acting as guests at the house, and sensed something very wrong. They quickly headed for the living room, along with Nonaka's family. Yui took a look at the portrait. "It's changed! The shoes are wet now!" The doors in the room suddenly sealed, locking everyone in. Yui and Iwasawa quickly pulled out their sidearms in defense the two siblings and their mother, as the portraits of Napoleon grew more spider-like.
Outside, Yuzuru was pulling up to the house, hearing a scream from within. The spider monster was pulling away from the portrait. "Where is Doctor Nonaka?" "My husband's in America!," the woman called out, "Just who are you!?" "I am known as Spider Napoleon," the monster replied, "Member of GOD's Villain Army." "He's kinda tall for Napoleon," Yui whispered to Iwasawa. "Actually Napoleon wasn't as short as people made him out to be," Iwasawa pointed out, "He was a little shorter than average, yes, but it's not like he was a midget."
Spider Napoleon cleared his throat. "My thanks for the vote of confidence, but I did not come here for praise. Where are the blueprints sent to Doctor Nonaka?" "I don't know anything about that!," the woman said in fear. "Madam, I'm not the sort to raise my hand to a lady," Spider Napoleon said. He tossed one of his spiders to a Warfare Agent, killing him. "But I'd rather not be tempted to do that."
"Wait!," the boy Itaru said, "I've got the blueprints!" Yui knocked him on the head. "And if he gets them, he can destroy the world… Including your family!" Spider Napoleon approached the two menacingly until the mother quickly pulled out a paper and handed it to the monster. But before he could leave, Yuzuru made his own move, killing the smaller spider. "I was told you guys would be here." "Yuzuru Otonashi," Spider Napoleon said, "I've been looking forward to this."
Yuzuru quickly dispatched the Warfare Agents. "Your life will end here!," Spider Napoleon declared, "The word 'impossible' means nothing to me!" He held up the blueprint. "But for now I'll settle on these." He quickly retreated. Yuzuru tried to go after him, but he seemed to have disappeared. When he managed to find him again, it was as part of a trap, Yuzuru's leg getting wrapped up in spider silk. "I'm aware of all you weak spots!," Spider Napoleon declared, "Now my Vampire Spider will drain you!"
The spider quickly latched onto Yuzuru, threatening to drain him. Fortunately, he wound up rolling into the water, forcing the spiders off as he leapt of the water as Kamen Rider X. However, he was still very weak from the energy drain, his X Kick to weak to even affect Spider Napoleon. The Villain Monster laughed as X tried to attack him. "It's a waste of time!" X soon found himself collapsing. "What's going on…? I can't even move…"
"It's the web I still have wrapped around you," Spider Napoleon explained, "It's been draining you of energy this whole time! Your Rider Kick is useless against me!" He proceeded to beat down X. "Now face my ultimate technique… Spiderweb Jungle!" X found himself caught under a massive spiderweb, losing more energy the more he tried to break free. He soon went limb as Spider Napoleon went to draw his sword.
Just as he prepared to finish off X, he sensed someone else. "Hold it right there!," V3 called out, appearing on the nearby cliff. "Who are you supposed to be!?," Spider Napoleon asked. "You don't even know?," V3 said, "I guess that says a lot about you. I am called Kamen Rider V3!" "V3, eh?," Spider Napoleon said, "In that case, I'll kill you too! En garde!" He leapt up to attack, but V3 had already vanished from his earlier spot.
"Where did he go?" He then noticed X was gone from the web. "He just wanted to draw me out? Show yourself, you coward!" "I'd your more the coward than I," V3 taunted, "After all, you tried to set it up so that you wouldn't have to fight Kamen Rider X at his full strength. Right now I have no time for cowardly monsters. But rest assured, we will be doing this later. See ya later, Spider Napoleon." Spider Napoleon growled. "Come out, damn you! Face me!"
The group was truly concerned since Yuzuru was in a bad state. "Isn't there anything we can do?," Kanade asked tearfully. "There is," Akira assured her, "We have to make an emergency operation." 'In that case,' Keitaro said, 'It seems the time has come to use that which I explained earlier. Akira, please save my son's life, that he may save this world.' Akira nodded. "It's a good thing it wasn't a total loss," Yurippe said, "As Spider Napoleon will soon learn."
"You absolute moron!," King Dark called out, "That blueprint was a counterfeit!" "Impossible!," Spider Napoleon replied, "How could it be counterfeit? Could I have been tricked…?" He thought back. "Wait… The boy…! He claimed to have the blueprints! He must have been telling the truth! I thought it too good to be true when the pink chipmunk of a girl reprimanded him, but that must have been part of the ruse!"
"This is the engine Keitaro developed to house the Mercury Power contained inside the crystal," Akira explained, "It will push Yuzuru's connection to the Synchro Drive even further, allowing him full access at all times. In addition, it will push his cybernetics and physiology to even stronger heights. Now, let's get this new Mercury Circuit installed." The operation team nodded. The first step was a blood transfusion, which Akira quickly volunteered for since his synthetic blood was the only thing that would work.
During the process, an alert came in. "GOD managed to capture Itaru," Yusa said, "They must have found out he was hiding the real blueprints." "We can't do anything until Yuzuru is back to full strength," Yurippe pointed out, "Have the Battlefront mobilize immediately. We'll be done before long." Yusa nodded. As the Battlefront started to confront Spider Napoleon and his Warfare Agents, the transfusion completed. "Now the icky part," Akira said, "We have to install the Mercury Circuit, with the crystal inside, directly into Yuzuru's heart."
Spider Napoleon was having a harder time than he expected getting the blueprints out of Itaru, who was adamant about keeping them secret due to a promise he made with his father. As the Villain Monster prepared to resort to torture, the operation on Yuzuru was just about to finish. 'The Mercury Circuit just needs a good shock to charge and awaken Yuzuru,' Keitaro said. A special headset was placed on Yuzuru and the computers in Deep Blue roared to life, causing electricity to flow.
Meanwhile Spider Napoleon was threatening to have Itaru drawn into a circular saw. With no time to spare, Akira headed out personally to deal with the situation while the others finished the operation. Akira activated his Double Typhoon. "Henshin!" "V3!" Transformed into Kamen Rider V3, he crashed his way into Spider Napoleon's base, taking out the guards and getting Itaru to safety.
Spider Napoleon quickly ran for it, V3 in pursuit. However, he got a surprise when Salamander-Gong and Achilles showed up as well. "I believe you owe me a match, V3!," Spider Napoleon said, "En garde!" V3 was quick to deal with the monsters, until Spider Napoleon launched his Spiderweb Jungle. V3 was soon wrapped up as Spider Napoleon laughed. "You just made the same mistake as Kamen Rider X!"
"And it's a mistake I intend to correct!," Yuzuru called out, shocking the three monsters. They looked up to see him, Kanade, Hideki, Yurippe, Ayato, and a whole host of Battlefront warriors. "Impossible!," Spider Napoleon called out, "You're alive!" "I thought 'impossible' didn't exist for you," Yuzuru said with a smirk, "You should know it takes more than a simple energy drain to kill a Kamen Rider. Find all the weaknesses you want, we just overcome them to become stronger! Let's go everyone!"
The Riders nodded, activating their devices. "Henshin!" "Dai Setup!" Angel, Life, SSS, and Eyez leapt down as X stayed above, his energy seeming to skyrocket. "Allow me to remind you of why Napoleon lost at Waterloo!" He leapt down to confront Spider Napoleon as the other Riders took on Achilles and Salamander-Gong. "Vampire Spider!" Spider Napoleon launched one of his spiders, but it didn't seem to do anything, X simply brushing the spider off. "You won't be getting me with that trick again!"
"Then try this!," Spider Napoleon called out, "Spiderweb Jungle!" X simply bundled up the spider thread and tossed it aside. "My turn!" He manifested a katana. Spider Napoleon gasped. "But you didn't call on your Synchro Drive!" "It's been active this whole time!," X explained, "Allow me to demonstrate! Synchro Samurai Slash!" He dashed at Spider Napoleon, making a single slash before sheathing the blade.
Spider Napoleon suddenly came apart as if he had been slashed multiple times, exploding all at once. This was the true power of the Mercury Circuit. Before, the Synchro Drive could only access a limited percentage of a Battlefront member's true power. But with the Mercury Circuit, X could access one-hundred percent of that power. In this case, pushing the full limits of Fujimaki's kenjutsu skills, striking multiple times faster than any eye could track.
With the defeat of Spider Napoleon, the Riders were able to obtain the fifth blueprint piece, giving them four to GOD's one. They were in the lead right now, and best of all, GOD's data on Kamen Rider X was basically useless. But King Dark was determined to obtain the rest of the blueprint pieces, and perhaps make some use of the data he had collected. This fight was not over yet, and there were just four more pieces of the RS Device blueprints to go.

Once again, this is world-building. That crystal is tied to another franchise that is being crossed over into Kamen Rider, but we won't be exploring it until a few seasons in. Read and review.
