Double Trouble.
The ninja where in the middle of training as usual. Lloyd was having trouble really trying to harness his wind powers, Jay tried to held since his element did include storm like qualities, but…
"Aw come on not again." Lloyd grumbled as the blank he was trying to float up feel and broke.
"It's okay Lloyd you'll figure it out." Jay pats his shoulder.
"I guess." Then he decided to get some steam out at the punching bag.
As Wu tried to console Jay Nya came in to talk to Jay about coming to the autobody shop, seems to got a part time job to help out a bit and upgrade the samurai suite. Then she gave them the letter.
After Wu read it….
As they looked at the boys who was ransacking the place "Are you sure we're talking about the same Lloyd?" Kai asked.
"Come on Kai he's gone a long way. Though I'm uncertain about the darkly school, if they've changed it must be a good thing. Just be careful when you go." Maya frowns.
"You're not coming?" Lloyd looks on sad.
"I'm sorry Lloyd. I have to help Sensei Wu with some important things today." Maya frowns.
"The elemental ninja will go with you. I'm sure they will enjoy themselves." Wu smiles.
"We shall be there to support you in whatever you need Lloyd." Zane hold his shoulder.
Lloyd smiled and nods.
Meanwhile at ouroboros….
Garamond was furious. His top general had gone behind his back to go after his son and they also showed that the green ninja was strong enough to defeat them even as a simple cat.
And right now he just wanted to strangle the snakes, again none of them gave a good idea, even the sandwich idea had no prospect.
"How can I defeat ninja who so rudely refuse to be defeated. Weapon answer me." He looked into it and an idea sprung.
"Wait, that's it." He smirks.
He went into another room and said "Ninja today I wish for you…." Then he stopped. "Wait have to wish for this carefully."
If he wished for all the ninja that would mean his son. So he began again "I wish for the four elder elemental ninja to finally meat their match." The weapons started sparking and suddenly four figures appeared.
Suddenly four figures appeared and Garmadon smirked but then "Wait four, what about…" That's when he realized it "Elemental I forgot the panther. Urgh can't change that know."
He looked at the fakes and said "I have made you equal to the ninja and to be loyal only to me."
"Yes Garmadon." The red eyed ninja bow.
"Then I command you to find and destroy the ninja." Garmadon growled.
At that the bizzaro ninja headed off. The had all the memories of the real ninja which means they use any advantage against them.
Meanwhile in Ninjago city….
The ninja took the bounty to darklys while Maya and Wu stayed at the autobody shop with Nya.
Maya looked at the papers and said "Are you sure you want to do this?" Maya looked on with a smile thought a bit worried.
"I am sure. Zane has no one, beside you and the ninja of course. But he deserves to have some family. Some legal family. And I should have taken in that task sometime ago." Wu sighed.
"Well at least you're realizing it now." Maya smiles.
"I just hope Zane does not mind." Wu looks on worried.
"Don't worry Sensei he'll love the idea, and it won't be legal unless he signs the paper. So he'll have the choice no matter what." Nya adds as she finished welding.
Wu nodded and finished up what he had too "Could you deliver this to city hall Maya."
"Sure. I hope it won't take long. I might head to the park after or something just so don't worry if I'm not back right away." Maya tells them as she waves.
"I am glad she seems to no longer be mad at me and she is okay with the idea." Wu sighs.
"Maya can forgive if it's something that only happens once. Just don't let it become frequent or she'll start doubting you again." Nay warns sadly.
"I understand that now. Thank you for that Nya." Wu smiles.
"No problem Sensei." Nya smiled as she got back to work.
The show plays out as before accept that both Nya and Wu where incapacitated and at the end of the fight….
"My double ganger has escaped." Zane called as he saw his double disappear out the window.
"We better go after him." Cole nods.
"We would punish you boys for what you did but since you helped, we'll leave it be this time. Now say goodbye." The principal told them.
The kids said bye and where especially happy to tell Lloyd to visit again. He liked having people like him as himself. But they had an evil clone to stop.
With that they ran off to go check on the others and see if they were okay.
Meanwhile….
Maya was exhausted. It took forever to pass through the line at city hall, then she had to sign off on some papers, and finally answer some questions before the papers where signed.
'Next time I'm saying no, no way no how.' May groaned as she walked about. 'What to do now, too tired for the park, maybe ice cream. Yeah that be good.'
So she walked to the ice cream parlor not knowing she was being fallowed. Bizzaro Zane smirked as he put on his sun glasses to hide his red eyes.
'Prefect. I may of not defeated the real Zane but taking his girl will help crush him.' He chuckled as he fallowed Maya. He had bean able to find her with his sixth sense and now he just had to find the perfect opportunity to get to her.
With the ninja….
They had made it to the autobody shop and helped Wu and Nya out of their binds "What happened?" Jay held Nya close.
Wu explained about the bizzaro ninja attacking and the ninja told their own story.
Wu's eyes widened "Maya is still in the city, she does not know of the events that have happened. We must find her before the fake Zane does."
"How do you know he will go after her?" Zane looks worried.
"They where made to be evil copies of you and fallow Garmadons will. If I am correct this copy will either try to get close to Maya because he is your double or because he knows Garmadon wants to break your will." Wu looked on sadly.
At that Zane stiffed and then rushed out the others fallowing. "Zane wait up!" Jay called as they fallowed him. Zane most likely finding his senses.
Lloyd was about to go but "No Lloyd this is too dangerous." Wu frowned.
"Aw but I want to help." Lloyd frowned.
"You can help me by finishing up my little project." Nya smirked as she took off a tarp on a buzzy and a bike.
"Cough cool. One for the ninja and one for Zane and Maya." Nya smirked as they got to work.
Wu looked out in worry and thought 'Be careful ninja."
Maya had made it to the ice cream shop, she was enjoying some mint chip. 'Mmm, I should take some to go to share with Zane later. He'd love this.' She thought fondly on this as suddenly she was surprised to see "Zane? I thought you where still at darklys."
Fake Zane smirked as he walked up to sit across from her and said "We finished up early and I couldn't stay away from you for long." Zane smirked.
Maya flushed at this 'He's getting a bit more daring.'
"Did the bad boy vibes affect you or something Icy. You're not usually so spunky. Or wear shakes." Maya smirked with a raised brow.
"You could say that." Fake Zane smirked.
Maya chuckled. 'Well this is new but a bit weird.' "Want some mint chip, we could share." Maya flirts.
"Sounds good honey." Fake Zane took a bite of the ice cream and Maya looked on shocked "What did you call me?"
"Honey, is something wrong?" Fake Zane looked confused.
"I'm just surprised, usually you don't call me that." Maya frowns a bit.
Fake Zane felt his mind whirr for information and then smiled as he held her hand "Don't worry, love will always be my special name for you."
Maya smiled, glad to off gotten that out of the way "Good. Now leave the bad boy act for now. How about some date time before we head back."
Fake Zane smirked "Just what I was thinking, how about a ride. Nya built me a new mobile." Actually, he had stolen one but she didn't know.
"Really I thought she was keeping something. Well let's go see this knew ride." Maya smiled as they headed out to look at the new ride.
As they did they found a nice looking ATV. "Nice, we can definably cuddle on this."
"I am looking forward to that." Smirked Fake Zane. He then gave her a helmet as he put one on. They got on the ATV and just before the ninja came they headed off.
"NO!" Zane called.
"On no we'll never catch them like this!" Jay looked shocked.
"Let's get to the bounty. He's most likely going to ouroboros." Kai informed them and they all nodded.
Zane rushed back in a hurry, he was desperate to get Maya back. But also 'How did she notice it was not me?'
As they got back and told the other what happened "This is not good, you must get there before they reach the city."
"I just finished your new vehicles, and trust me their faster then anything he's stolen." Nya smirked.
"Awesome?" three out of four ninja said.
Zane looked on sadly and said "I know I should not be thinking this but, how is it she did not know it was me?" Zane frowned.
"Don't think like that Zane, I got fooled as well. I thought Jay was just fooling around." Nya frowned.
"I suppose that would have been what Maya thought as well." Zane looked up realizing.
"Maya loves you Zane remember that, and sometimes love can be blinding. She may of noticed something but remember these clones in a way do know you. So they know how to fool others. So do not take it too heart." Wu pats his shoulder.
"I won't sensei. All I want is to get her back safe." Zane looked determined and went on his new snow mobile.
With that they head off. They had to hurry before anything else happened.
As Maya enjoyed the ride she noticed they where getting pretty far from town "Zane we're getting kind of far into the dessert. We don't' want to get far."
"Don't worry I don't get lost easily and I wanted to show you the perfect spot to watch the stars tonight." Fake Zane smirked.
"Tonight, I kind of have to get Sensei something." Maya frowns.
"It won't take long, promise. Please I really want to spend some time with you." Fake Zane gave a sincere look.
Maya took that in, he has been working extra hard lately and after the cat thing "Okay but just for a bit."
"Hold on." Fake Zane punched it and they flew off Maya holding close as the speed was too much for her. Fake Zane liked the feeling of her holding him and sped up more, but Maya felt strange 'this does not feel safe at all.'
"Zane slow down. You know I don't like going so fast!" May called.
"Don't worry we're almost there. Just hang on." Fake Zane called.
"Zane I said slow done!" Maya yelled in worry.
Fake Zane then slid to a stop and said "See we're here." But he was suddenly hit in the head with Maya's helmet.
"Ow! What was that." He said as he rubbed his head.
"I'm going home. You're such a jerk!" Maya yelled with tears.
"And you're no fun. Seriously what does he see in you?" Fake Zane crosses his arms.
"What, what do you mean by…" That's when Maya noticed it, they where at auroborus.
"Zane what…." Maya stepped back.
"I see you've meat my latest creation. Meat the green ninjas clone." Garmadon smirked as he patted fake Zane shoulder.
Maya gasped at this and then started to run on all fours.
"Stop her!" Garmadon called.
The snakes ran after her as Fake Zane rode on his ATV.
Maya was panting like crazy as she ran, hitting a few snakes and tripping them on the way. 'What's going on, a clone? I should have noticed. Why didn't I?'
Then she heard the roar of an engine and saw someone coming in front of her, it was Zane or the fake Zane.
"Oh no not today!" Maya roared as she launched at the fake and made him fall off his back, Zane looked up and said "Maya it's me Zane."
"Likely story." May growled.
The other ninja arrived and got off their truck "Maya get off him that is Zane." Maya gasped and got off.
"Zane I'm so sorry." Maya hugged him.
"It is okay I understand. Are you hurt?" Zane looked down worried.
"Just embarrassed." Maya flushed.
Then "Ah how cute. But I can't let you take her green." Fake Zane came and used some sort of whip to pull Maya back to him.
"Let me go you fake." Maya growled as she struggled and almost bit him.
"Feisty aren't you. I might just keep you after all." Fake Zane smirked.
Zane looked ready to attack but Cole held him back "Careful Zane he might try something."
"I probably will, I have an idea, fight me ninja and then we'll see who the better man is." Fake smiles.
"No Zane you can't if you do he could blast you out of existence." Jay said worried.
Maya gasped at this "Zane don't!"
"Then I guess she'll just have to come with me." Fake Zane pulls her in and snuggles her. Maya pulls back disgusted and ready to bite.
Zane glares and shouts "I accept your challenge."
"Great, stay her babe." Fake sits her on the atv seat.
"Don't call me babe." Maya growls.
Zane and Fake came in the middle and took battle positions. Then they launched hitting pose form pose.
"He knows Zane's every move, how is he going to stop him. There's no way to distract him this time." Jay looks worried.
"We're just going to have to trust him." Kai frowned with worry.
As the two blocked blow from blow Maya saw this was going nowhere fast, and she was not just going to sit there. Maya brought her claws and teeth out as she started to work on the wrope. Hopefully she be able to get out in time.
The battle went on but the Fake didn't seem to be getting tired, in fact it seemed to only get faster "Had enough. Just give up and I'll let the panther live."
Zane blocked every move, not missing a step, no matter how tired he was "Not a chance." Zane blocked the punches that came his way and even dodging a kick that almost got him.
Jay gasped as Cole and Kai glared. This wasn't going well. 'Come on hurry up!' Maya yelled in her head as she chewed like crazy at the ropes they where finally loosening. 'Good!' then she started to loosen herself out.
As the battle went on Zane dodged a high kick but tripped, he soon found himself knees and hands on the sand and looked up shocked as the Fake smirked and said with a fist "Time to go."
As he was about to and his punch though "NO!" Maya came between the two and took the hit to her shoulder, crashing into Zane who held her as they landed back and looked down in shock "Maya?"
"Zane you're okay?" Maya looked relieved.
"But Maya you're hurt." Zane looked on in shock at the ripped part of her gi.
"You protect me, and I protect you, that's how it goes. How could I not stop him." Maya smiles with pain.
"Ah stupid panther!" Yelled the Fake.
Zane looked up with icy and green energy flowing in his eyes.
"Oh no." Kai said in worry.
"Um boys lets back up and…." Cole start but before they can.
Zane helps Maya sit down and then stand up in a powerful pose, his hands tipped with ice and green energy that pulsed around him.
"You hurt Maya, you will never do that again." Zane said coldly.
"Zane?" Maya looked shocked.
At that Zane started floating and then flew right at his enemy "What how can you…" He didn't get to finish as Zane hit him with a knee jab to the chest.
At this the Fake disappeared and once he was gone Zane stood there pulsing for a bit then fell for a bit panting.
The other's ran up and asked "Zane are you okay?" Jay asked.
Kai went to help Maya over and asked "Was that his true potential?"
"I don't think so, I think he was just really powered up. Maya?" Cole asked.
"It wasn't his true potential, but it was close, my necklace glowed for a tiny bit but that was all. Zane, are you okay?" Maya looked worried.
Zane got up and said he looked over her shoulder "Maya are you okay, your shoulder."
"It hurts but it will heal." Maya flinches.
Zane frowned at this but nodded "Please don't do that again." He took her into his arms.
"I can't promise that, like I said. You protect me, I protect you. Zane if you were hurt and I couldn't do anything how do you think I feel." Maya snuggled into him.
While Zane was not all happy with the idea he sighed and nuzzled her saying "There's no stopping you I guess. I'd feel the same."
With that they all got on their transports and headed home. Zane had Maya ride in the front so she would not fall off. The two feeling awkward with this and with what had happened, but just happy they where safe.
Back at the bounty….
Wu was relieved at seeing them safe but was shocked at what had happened. Nya was taking care of Maya's injury while the other guys talked with Lloyd about the battle.
Zane was trying to meditate, thinking over the battle 'I could not protect her.'
Wu came up to sit across from him and says "It is hard seeing someone you love hurt. But I am glad Maya did what she did to save you."
"I know she did that for me, but still I cannot feel well about it." Zane looked down sadly.
"I know. But she loves you just as you love her. If she lost you, she would be heartbroken." Wu frowned.
"Then I must learn to be more careful then." Zane said determined.
"A good thing to learn. Also, Zane. I wanted to talk to you about something?" Wu smiled a bit.
"About what sensei?" Zane titled his head.
"Zane, I have found out a few things and. Do you see me as a second father." Zane blushed.
"Did Maya….?"
"After you were turned human you feel asleep on my lap and as you stirred you called out father." Wu smiled kindly.
Zane flushed "Sensei if I have offended you…"
"Not at all my student. I am just sorry it took me so long to see it. Zane, I knew you where alone and with no family of your own. I should have taken more initiative when I learned about this. Maya knew this and told me that even if she was mad with me she said that you saw me as a second father and made me promise not to break your trust and I want to do that now." Wu's smile grew.
Zane looked shocked 'Maya said that, even if she was mad at him.'
"So Maya helped me with something today. And now I can ask you this." Wu brough the adoption from out and set it on the table.
"Zane, would you care if I adopted you as my legal son. I would still be your teacher but, you would at least have one family, well two, family members on this ship. And I would take more part in your life. I want you to have the same chance to feel that you are not alone, same as the others. That someone is waiting for you to return." Wu put a hand on his shoulder.
"What I am trying to say is, would you like to be adopted by me?" Wu smiled.
Zane looked on wide eyed and then back and Wu and then back down. Wu became nervous 'Perhaps this was too much….'
"Sensei. May I start calling you father now." Zane had some tears in his eyes.
Wu smiled and grabbed his arm and said "Of course you can." Zane turned it into a hug and WU was surprised but smiled as he patted his back.
Wu gave a pen to Zane and Zane smiled as he signed the form. Wu rolled it up and said "You are now officially Zane Wu."
Zane jumped and headed to the others in the game room. "Zane where are you going?" WU tilted his head.
"To tell the others I have a family." Zane smiled and then ran off.
Wu looked on fondly at this and took his tea. Life was certainly changing on this ship and in way he never imaged, ways he was finding himself to be so happy to be a part off.
Later….
The ninja and Nya where all excited to hear the news and congratulated Zane. Lloyd running about excited to have a cuisine. Thy decided to celebrate with a nice dinner and cake. They ordered out this time not wanting Zane to cook.
As they sat Zane sat close to Maya and held her comfortably close. Maya flushed and said "What's wrong."
"I am just so proud to have the most amazing women as my bonded." Zane kissed the top of her head.
Nay aws at that.
"Zane what's gotten into you?" Maya looks on happy, knowing this was her Zane.
"Sensei told me what you did." Zane smiled.
"He did?" Maya looked uncertain.
"At first I was uncertain about you telling, but giving the circumstance and what you did to help make it happen. I'm glad you did. Not only do you protect me physically but emotionally. Maya I don't know how I can ever repay you." Zane smiles a he holds her hands.
"Just keep being you and return my love in kind." Maya smiles.
"I will, always." Zane smiles down at her.
None of the ninja could say anything about it, in fact beside Jay they were kind of jealous. Well even Jay was jealous, even though he had Nya, they're relationship still wasn't that close. He wondered what he could do to make their relationship just as good.
"I see love is growing between one of our couples and that our whole team is blossoming and growing. I hope you two are thinking of the future to come after Garmadon is defeated." Wu chuckled as he took his seat.
"Father." Zane flushed.
"I'm and old man son, of course I'm going to push for grandchildren." Wu chuckled.
"How about getting used to being a father first." Maya laughs.
"Hey if you guys do have kids that means I get to be an uncle, that be so cool." Lloyd jumped in his seat.
"You will have to wait a while for that Lloyd, we do not feel ready for that." Zane flushed.
"Pluss there's a lot of other things we have to work out before anything like that happens." Maya shakes her head.
They all laughed at that and talked, everyone happy for this new development and the ones to come in the future. What they didn't know is how soon certain future events would occur.
