Chapter: 18 Home Sweet Home
It took about an hour to get back to the Base. It was already dark but I could see everything down below. A couple of rabbits ran out of the bushes. I flapped my wings a bit and pressed them down. My ears moved around to the sounds inside the jet and outside the jet.
I was already missing my family. I felt my eyes tearing up and my throat tightening. I rubbed my thighs. It was what I usually did when I was upset or nervous.
My friends talked about how this day was the best day they have ever experienced.
"Come on over here Bat!" they called to me.
I sighed as I got up.
I quickly rubbed my eyes with my sleeve and sat down near them.
"We want to thank you for making us have the best day we've had in years," Susan said smiling down at me.
I smiled back. "You guys deserved it; you have missed out on so many cool things over the years," I explained to them.
B.O.B. came over to me and gave me a gooey hug.
"You are the best Bat!" he said happily.
"Your…Welcome!" I exhaled out.
He let go of me.
I collapsed.
Susan, Doc, and Link started laughing.
"We're here monsters! Home sweet home!" Monger yelled to us as we landed at the prison. "Wait a minute Monger! You said if we destroyed the alien we got our freedom! Plus those aliens from Tomorrow Land so we are free to do whatever we want!" Link snapped angrily.
"Don't go all blowing up in my face now Fish stick! You all haven't even seen your rooms yet!" yelled Monger.
I smiled. My nicknames for Link are really going around I thought to myself happily. Link caught the nickname as well and growled at Monger.
"This better not be a trick!" He snapped again.
"Oh calm down Fis-I mean Link," Doc said snickering, catching himself before he called Link Fish stick. I tried to hold back a laugh, but I couldn't help it. Link pretended he didn't hear us as we headed into the prison.
The prison looked a bit different since we last were here. It seemed less…prison like. "This is the place you guys hang out!" Monger showed us, while flying around on his jetpack. We stopped in our tracks in total shock!
It was a huge room. It was like looking into a Susan sized living room! It had a nice wooden table and a wooden bench-like seat that looked like those kind from restaurants. There were plants in huge pots and a window that looked out inside the huge room we were once held in.
I spread open my wings and flew up on the huge table, while Doc, Link, and B.O.B. climbed up the table. Susan walked over and sat down at the table. We all looked through the window to see what was down there.
The huge room we all stayed in also changed, as a "habitat" for Insecto. It was like looking down at a city. Insecto was already in his "habitat" and was already eating away at the buildings. "Those buildings are the same material and is a replica of Tokyo," explained Monger as we looked out the window.
"This is perfect for Insecto!" Link said happily.
I looked at the amazing Tokyo 2.
"Wow! It must take along time to rebuild those buildings and to pay millions of dollars for it!" I said in awe.
"We have our ways," explained Monger.
We then followed Monger to show us our rooms.
"Ginormica! This is your room!" he said to her. We followed her into her room. "Oh my gosh!" she freaked. We were stunned as well. It was the room any girl would ever want…not really me, but it was still cool. Its walls were a nice pink and the bed was like a building lying on its side! There were huge stuffed animals the size of baby whales. She also had her own nightstand with a huge lamp. There was also the hugest Jacuzzi in the whole world. Also the hugest screen T.V. and there was a walk in closet with clothes and accessories just for Susan to try on.
"It's amazing!" she shrieked with joy and jumped on her bed.
"If there is anything else you want added in your room, you can tell me," said Monger.
"Alright, now for B.O.B.'s room!" Monger announced as we left Susan in her room and walked down some more to the next room.
It was like a hallway or an apartment because all our rooms were next door to each other's. "Oh wow! Is this my room?!" B.O.B. asked excitedly.
"No B.O.B., that's the bathroom," Monger said, annoyed by B.O.B.'s simple mind.
We walked a little more then looked into B.O.B.'s room. It was so cool! It was like a kid's playground and a party store all rolled into one. Its walls were blue, and had a huge twisting slide, a whole bin of basketballs, kick balls, tennis balls, soccer balls, and any other sports ball you can imagine. There were colorful balloons, colorful streamers, and a couple of piñatas (with tons of candy) and all types of board games or other types of games in the back of the room. It also had a basketball hoop on the left wall. The floor felt gel like and there was even a hot dog cart.
"Oh Wow!" B.O.B. said excitedly, he couldn't stop smiling. " Is it my birthday!?" he asked Monger.
"Uh…sure," Monger said.
"This is the best day ever!" B.O.B. yelled excitedly and ran around his room playing with anything he could get his gel-like hands on.
"I'm starting to want his room now," Link said smiling.
"We will get to your room in a minute, its time to show Doc his room now," said Monger.
Doc's room was equally as awesome as B.O.B.'s. It was like looking into Dr. Frankenstein's labratory. There were tables of beakers, tubes, chemicals, and other science instruments. There were screens for researching on things or looking inside people's bodies. There were also microscopes, and a whole library on any kind of science (I bet there was even mad scientists books) and an operation table. His bed was in a dark corner.
"O…M…G!" was all we heard from Doc.
He was in mad scientist heaven.
His eyes were wide in amazement and shock. He walked in his room. He scanned through the books and pulled a volume of Biology out.
"There is even a schute that brings you garbage any time you want," explained Monger as he pointed to a schute.
Next to it was a lever.
When Doc walked over to it, he pulled it down, and instantly garbage came rolling down. "I don't know what to say!" he finally said.
"Just think of it as a payment of apology and a thanks for taking care of the aliens," Monger said to him. Doc smiled and started to work on an invention.
"Now for The Missing Link," said Monger.
I have never seen Link so happy since the day I met him. His room was like a gym. Its walls had posters of the beach. It had a real life Olympic pool that took up most of his room; it also had fish swimming in it! There were also weights of any size, and other body building equipment. It also had speakers for the radio and his bed was a waterbed, just the right size for him. Link crossed his arms and smiled.
"I admit it, I'm speechless," He said, trying to keep his cool.
I was also pretty amazed at his room, even though I wasn't into lifting weights and stuff.
"Now for Bat's room," Monger announced, as we left Link with his room.
I was beyond shocked. My room was the coolest room any teenager bat would want! It's walls were blood red with black silhouette designs and real life bats flying around the room! My bed had patterns of bats on it and I had a desk with a comfortable swivel chair and a really cool advanced computer, there was even a shelf of sketch- books
I also had a flat screen T.V.!
"This T.V. has the ability to see your family as well," Monger explained as he picked up the remote and when he pushed the red button, I saw my family waving to me. I felt like I wanted to cry with joy.
"Oh my gosh this is so cool!" I said excitedly. "Hey there girl! Our favorite monster!" my dad said teasing me.
I smiled back and waved to them.
There were some things that were even from my old room back home: my monster action figures, my books, even my Invader Zim and Nightmare before Christmas posters!
"I get your room now!" my sister said teasing me.
"What! Mom, is the rest of my stuff still in my room?" I asked her.
"Monger took care of it all pumpkin," my mom said smiling.
I sighed with relief.
"In that closet has all of your stuff from your old room, even down to the last dust bunny," Monger said to me as he pointed to the closet.
I opened it.
It was as if they zapped my room to this place!
It was just how I last saw it: messy.
"Woah! How did you-" "Classified" Monger interrupted me. Then I waved good- bye to my family and turned off the T.V.
"Oh and one more thing," Monger said before leaving my room. "There is a pole above your bed, for if you want to sleep like a bat again. Its more comfortable then that old metal pipe you slept upside down on," Monger explained
He then left my room.
I jumped on my bed and stared up at the really tall ceiling, which I noticed had stalactites hanging down. The bats flew up, and at the top of the ceiling was a small window. The bats flew out the window to find food.
I counted five bats.
I've never had pet bats before.
This is so cool I thought to myself.
I looked at the horizontal pole.
It looked like a cat- scratcher.
I hesitated and then got up and pulled myself up and over. I slowly went down and hung upside down. My wings draped over me and I closed my tired eyes.
"Good night Monsters! See you in the morning!" I heard Monger yell to us.
Home Sweet home I thought to myself, smiling.
