-KEVIN ATWATER-
YIELD
"Please be advised that the plane will be landing in…." The female flight attendant started to say, but was abruptly cut off.
"You might be feeling a little turbulence but please stay calm. I'm with the C.P.D. I am going to check into this matter." Kevin said standing up in his seat and quickly making his way towards the plane's cockpit.
"Nice to see that we have an officer on board!" A male voice laughed from behind him.
"Don't turn around!" The same voice snapped as Kevin went to turn to see what the male looked like, to have a better idea of what he was dealing with, felt the barrel of a gun stabbing in between his shoulder blades.
"Put all your cellphones, computers, tablets or matches in this bin!" A white male squid emerging from the back of the plane, shoving a large bin in the passengers faces. Once he collected all of the electronic devices, he turned his attention to Kevin.
"That includes you...Officer Atwater?" A female said, walking up to him, reading his badge.
"Just tell me what you want, and maybe I can help you out." Kevin said, reaching for his sidearm, now realizing that he had to leave it with security.
" You can "help me out" by doing what I say or there will be consequences! The male with the bin snapped, holding it out to Kevin.
"Huh. don't want to listen? How about I give you some motivation!" The female laughed pulling a young child out of his seat next to his mother!
" put your hands behind your back, and step forward. I've always wanted to say that!" The female laughed at him.
"Maybe you should've become a cop instead of a criminal!" Kevin snapped back.
"Wise guy, huh?" The male asked as he pinned Kevin's arms behind his back, while the female tightly secured the metal bracelets around his wrists.
"Sit down!" The first male snapped at the young boy, motioning over to a empty area on the side of the plane.
"Please just let me go sit with my mom." Kyle pleaded.
"What part of "sit down" don't you understand?" He snapped at the young boy, showing him his gun.
"Hold on, Bruce, you're scaring him. You won't be alone, he will be right next to you." She said as Kevin was thrown to the floor of the plane into the empty space.
"Now, go ahead and sit down. Everything is going to be okay." She told him, leading him towards the empty space next to Kevin.
"I want my mom!" the child said, trying to get past her, but to no avail.
"You have me, just let the kid go back to his mom, please." Kevin said, finally making it into a seated position.
"But it looks like you could use a little company." She said grabbing the child by the arm, and forcing him down onto the plane's floor, next to Kevin.
"Don't move, brat!" She snapped back at him.
"Bruce, go make our guest feel a little more comfortable." She said handing him a long bungee cord.
" Show me your hands." Bruce said holding the bungee cord in one hand. The boy looked over to Kevin, who gave him a small nod. The young child put his arms out in front of him, watching as "Bruce" tightly wrapped it around his small wrists and secured it with the other hook on the end of the cord.
"Thank you, at least one of you can follow directions!" he said, looking straight at Kevin, and walked back towards the front of the plane.
"What's your name, kiddo?" Kevin asked him.
"K.y..l.e." the young boy said, trembling.
"I'm Kevin, I'm going to get back control of the plane and get it landed safely…"
How?" Kyle asked, still trembling.
"Not sure yet, but I'll figure something out." Kevin said, struggling against the metal of his own silver bracelets. The young boy just lowered his head to his knees, and began to cry.
"Shut up! I'm trying to think!" The woman snapped as she moved swiftly down the aisle and over to the small boy.
"Then let him sit with his mom." Kevin said, trying to negotiate.
Do you think I'm stupid? I need both of you as leverage, and if I were to let the other go, I won't let you!" She laughed.
"Show me some proof!" kevin snapped back.
"I will. After you make a phone call for me." She said pulling a cellphone from her pant's pocket.
"I'm not calling my Sergeant, if that's what you want." Kevin said looking her straight in the eyes.
"No, of course not." she said
"I want you to call_." She whispered in his ear.
"No! I'm not calling _!" Kevin exclaimed.
"Do it! Both of your lives depend on it" She threatened him.
"First, show me that you are actually telling me the truth."
"And what do you suppose that I need to show you?" She asked, coyly.
"Let five people go." Kevin told her.
"How about four." She said waiting for his response.
"Five." Kevin said again.
"I'm not negotiating! Take my offer, or don't but I'm not throwing you another bone!" She snapped back.
"Tosh, I can't land this plane." the pilot told her.
"Why the hell not?" She asked heading straight for the cockpit.
"The gearshift isn't working!" The pilot told her.
"Really? I guess we just need to bail." she told the pilot. Bruce pulled out his cell phone and quickly scrolled through his contact list, and made a call.
"They will be here in five, Tosh." Bruce told her.
"Good. Now go get what we came for!" She snapped. Bruce ran over to the cargo space. And started throwing luggage, until he found a small black, velvet bag.
"Got it." He said heading back towards the cockpit.
"Have fun landing!" She laughed as she finished duct-taping the pilot's hands to the control panel.
"You can't just leave us!" the young child screamed.
"Too bad, kid, We are." She said watching as Bruce and the other males were strapping on their parachutes. Tosh grabbed her own, and before Kevin could say a word they had already jumped out of the plane.
"I found this under one of the seats, they must've missed it." A woman said as she rose from her seat and walked over to Kevin.
"Call 9-1-1!" Kyle screamed at her. She swiped her finger across the screen, only to discover that the phone was password protected!
"I need a password!" She said alarmed,
"Try the "emergency call button!"." A male in his twenties called from the second to last row of the plane.
"How?" She asked him, frantically trying to unlock the phone.
"Swipe your finger across the screen again, when the password screen appears, look for the emergency call screen." He told her.
"Got it!" she said dialing 9-1-1.
"9-1-1. What is your emergency?" The operator asked into his headset.
"Hold the phone up to my ear." kevin told her. She complied.
"This is Detective Atwater of the C.P.D. intelligence unit. I need assistance with an emergency landing." Kevin said into the phone.
"Stay on the line" The operator said, muting the call, and called his supervisor.
