Jasper POV

I can't believe what I am hearing. Not only has my newfound sister gone through the hell of being ill her whole life but her and my mate both have been raped. No wonder my Hazel was scared when I tried to touch her. Especially since no man has touched her since that night. Part of me is flattered that she trusted me enough to even try another part of me is horrified she even went through that and I want to hunt those men down and kill them.

When Nyx is done telling us their stories I excuse myself and run out to the woods to release some of my anger. After a few minutes Peter has joined me and is helping me make a nice dent in the woods surrounding our home.

When we are finally calm enough he is the first to speak. "You know for some reason Hazel thought you were disgusted with her." I just look at him shocked that my mate would even think that I would think that of her. "Don't worry man I set her straight she understand you were just angry at what she went through she is fine now."

"Thanks man. I just don't know how they could've gone through something like that and be the women they are today I mean they are so caring and loving." He just nods.

"Come on Peter I can't stand to be away from her anymore." I take off back to the house knowing Peter is right behind me. As I walk through the door I notice both girls in the kitchen. I feel how happy they both are now. Peter heads straight for Nyx nuzzling her neck while I head straight for Hazel picking her up and setting her in my lap while I do the same to her. Nyx is saying something to Peter but I don't even hear what they say until they tell us that they are leaving to finish their hunt from earlier.

Hazel and I both tell them goodbye. I know we need time alone to talk about everything on our own without either of them around. As soon as they walk out the door I feel Hazel's lips on my own. She is slowly pulling away.

"Jasper I am so sorry." She looks down not meeting my eye. I am having none of that. I grasp her chin pulling her face up to meet my eyes.

"Sweetheart there is nothing to be sorry about." I can feel her sorrow as well as the love that she has for me. No matter what she is feeling there is always her love for me.

"Yes there is, I really thought I was ready I didn't think I would freeze up like that. I love you so much Jasper and I just wanted to be with you." She's rambling now so I kiss her before she can continue on.

"Darlin, I love you too so much, I want to be with you just as much, but I will wait however long it takes. Maybe we just need to move slower. Take it one step at a time. Maybe it was just too much to fast for your brain to process and that's why you froze." She just nods.

"I just don't want you to think that I am scared of you Jasper I have never and could never be scared of you even when the Major came out I felt completely safe with you." I smile as big as I can when I hear her heart flutter I feel it get bigger.

"Hazel you don't know how much that means to me. There are so many vampires who are scared of me because of my reputations in the vampire wars. The fact that you feel safe with me even when that side came out makes me so utterly happy." I project just how happy she makes me wrapping it around her like a blanket.

"Come on cowboy lets go cuddle up and watch a movie before the troublemakers get home."

"I think that is a great idea darlin." We snuggle up on the couch and put on the Sandlot. We finished the movie and decide to start another one this time we put on the Avengers. We get about halfway through the movie when we realize that Nyx and Peter should be home by now.

"Jasper should we maybe go and check on them." I can feel how worried she if for Nyx, but I know Peter won't let anything happen to her.

"I think they are ok Peter sometimes likes to play with his food I am sure he is teaching Nyx to do the same." She just nods her head but I can tell that she is still worried. As the movie is wrapping up her cell phone starts ringing.

"Hello?"

"HEY HAZEL!"

"Uh Nyx are you drunk?"

"You know it!"

"Ugh Nyx where are you?"

"Jail."

"Are you serious Nyx again?"

"yep."

"And where is Peter exactly?"

"In jail with me." She looks up at me. I can't help cracking up. Only Peter and Nyx would get themselves arrested at a time like this.

"I didn't even think vampires could get drunk."

"Hey me either Haze, but apparently it's possible." She just giggles.

"I'll be right there Nyx, but don't think this is over."

"Ugh yes mom but hurry up Peter's an annoying drunk." With that she just hangs up the phone.

Hazel rushes upstairs to get her shoes, I just wait by the front door for her. I help her into the truck and rush to the driver side happy that I don't have to hide my speed anymore. She is the first one to break the silence.

"So vampires can get drunk?"

"Oh yes we can get drunk. Alcohol is the one thing that we vampires can still enjoy."

"Of course that would be the first thing Nyx would try as a vampire." I thought she was a handful as a human I think we just made it worse by changing her into a vampire.

We pull up to the police station and as soon as we open the door we hear Peter's annoying singing.

As we get closer it dawns on Hazel what Nyx meant by Peter being an annoying drunk.

"Is he always like this."

"Oh no darlin he usually so much more annoying he is probably toning it down for Nyx." I look over to Nyx who look like she is about to murder him if doesn't shut up.

"Peter knock it off and tell me what happened"

"Oh hey Jaz-man when did you and the lovely Hazel get here?"

"Just now why are you and Nyx in jail Peter?"

"Well you see what happened was after we got done… eating we decided we wanted to get some drinks but some douche bag decided that he wanted to hit on my girl, and I wasn't having any of that so I very politely went to tell him to back off." At that Nyx snorted.

"Politely Peter you got in his face and told him if he didn't and I quote 'get away from your woman you would rearrange his face' that was polite?"

"As I was saying I politely asked him to back off of my woman when he decided to take a swing at me and I couldn't have any of at so went got into a little tussle when some of his friends wanted to join in lets just say I had an unfair advantage. Nyx is here because she got into a fight with a few women you have to ask her why."

Hazel looks at Nyx. "Nyx what did you do now?"

"You see Haze when Peter here was defending my honor these women were talking about how sexy he looked and I didn't like that they were eyeballing what was mine so I of course had to beat their asses."

We all just look at her then she bust out laughing. "What so my story isn't as elaborate as Peter's sue me."

"I should leave the both of you in here maybe that would teach ya'll a lesson."

I see Hazel's eyes go wide. "Jasper don't do that Nyx has ways of getting herself out of these situations and trust me we don't want that because then Peter would have to add someone else to his kill list."

We all glance to Peter whose eyes go black.

"Jasper you better get us out of here before I kill someone on principle alone." I just nod my head and go to bail them out. I quickly find a cop whose badge says 'Johnson'. I pay and sign some papers than he grabs the keys and walks back with me unlock the cells. Nyx gets out first and starts walking toward us with her head down, ignoring the cop. That's a bad sign… Than Johnson lets Peter out to, we almost make out the door. So close. Before the cop says, 'it was nice to see you again Nyx, too bad your clothes were on this time.' So close… I hear the growl start in Peter's chest and immediately start pumping him full of calm. He slows down but I can still feel his anger, looks like I will have to knock him out with my gift. He's going to be pissed later but his body falls to the floor. Thank God the cop had already left. I pick up Peter and Nyx lifts Hazel and we run out to the truck and hop in. I start easing off my gift the closer we get home and Peter pops up.

"Damn it Jasper."
