When the news of the marriage between Link and Zelda had spread throughout Hyrule Castle and Town, everyone wasn't surprised. They had said how close they had become and they were wondering when they were to be married, and they didn't much care that a royal wedding hadn't happened despite the nobles' complaints.

Link had kept up his status as the Captain of the Guards, but when the two returned home to Hyrule Castle as the monarchs, they were surprised to see Egil, Jack, and Tyler waiting for them with something in Jack's hands.

"Jack? Tyler? Egil?" Link questioned, arching an eyebrow, eyeing the item in Jack's hands. Zelda held the same expression as her husband. "What's that you got there?"

"Just a gift for our King is all," Tyler winked, tossing the item to Link. "Your little friend said we could pay less for it, unlike how it would usually cost us in his store."

Link's eyes went wide. "The magic armor?" he whispered out.

"We had it modified," Egil explained with a smirk. "It doesn't run on rupees anymore, so you won't be going broke."

"It'll make you look like a King," winked Jack.

Link laughed as he rolled his eyes, promising to put it on when they got settled down. Zelda smiled as she walked with him back to their room. They passed a few guards on the way, and were given their congratulations, wishing them happiness.

When they finally reached their room, Link flopped down on the bed, making Zelda giggled as she removed the crown of roses they were given from the village of Ordons. Link lazily removed his thorn crown, yawning as he sat up, ruffling his hair, making it fall down in its usual style. He eyed his new outfit and shrugged, deciding he would try it on tomorrow.

"Come snuggle with me," Link whined, reaching out his arms to his wife.

Zelda smiled softly before moving into his embrace, smiling even more when he kissed her head. "I love you," she whispered.

"I love you too, darlin'," he cooed back.

For a moment they stayed like that, happy to finally be home and married. Link had never felt happier in his entire life and Zelda could safely say the same, feeling the happiness she once felt when her brother was born but it was much more tense.

She wondered if this was the happiness her parents felt when they got married themselves before they had her and her brother. If this was what pure happiness felt like, then she didn't want to let Link go, never.

"Ready to head to bed?" he asked, mid-yawn.

Zelda nodded. "Very much so."

Link smiled as he brought her closer, kissing her softly before kissing the golden band on her ring finger. "Let's get ready for bed then, darlin'," he said, helping her up.

Things were finally perfect.

A few weeks after their marriage, Link and Zelda had grown more comfortably into their respective roles; whilst Zelda took on the royal duties, Link took on the guards. Both were happy with the agreements and always met up in the gardens on their breaks, spending time with each other to their hearts' content.

Link had taken up wearing the magic armor once he saw his friends were right in their words; it made him look like a King. With the golden armor combined with the red, it made him look royal; extremely royal. He wore the crown that came with the armor as well. He also had a red cape that Egil had made for it, which fit nicely under the shoulder piece.

To the staff, nobles, and the subjects, he looked like a true King alongside Zelda as his Queen. But he wouldn't ever admit that himself, finding himself a little unsure about his abilities to be a King but Zelda always seemed to find a way to distract those thoughts.

When a month passed in their marriage, Link had been exhausted after dealing with a bunch of thieves that decided to try to steal from Malo's shop in the market, that he slumped down in his chair in his office and rested his head on his desk, wanting to try and catch some sleep.

A knock at the door interrupted that deal.

"Your majesty?" Christopher called out, making Link jump.

"What?" Link yelped. "Oh, I mean— what do you need?"

Christopher chuckled before returning to his usual expression. "Her highness wishes to see you," he explained. "She's waiting for you in the gardens."

Link nodded, standing up as he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, waving Christopher away as he headed towards the gardens, the fresh air making him wake up a little better as he got closer.

When he rounded the corner of the gardens, he smiled at his wife before kissing her softly. His exhaustion was forgotten. When he was with his wife, he forgot about a lot of things and that was okay for him. As long as he was with his wife, everything was okay.

"What did you need me for?" he asked, kissing her again. "I was hoping to get a nap in, darlin'."

Zelda laughed as she kissed his head. "I had some news," she said. "I thought you'd want to hear it."

"What would that be?"

He felt content and relaxed as he rested his head on her shoulder, breathing in her lavender scent. His wolf was relaxed and purring away as they lazily listened on for the news, being sleepy themselves.

Zelda held his hand. "Link," she started, her voice soft and it made him slightly confused but there was something about her that put his wolf off when he took in her scent once more. There was something different about her that his wolf was hinting at. "I'm pregnant."

Time stopped.

Link pulled away with shock as his baby blue eyes widened as he stared at her as his wolf realized what they were smelling; it was more maternal than anything. That's what it was. His wolf was smelling the change in her hormones, the wolf inside was able to pick up on it but couldn't exactly pinpoint what it was.

Now, the wolf had their answer; she was pregnant.

Pregnant… with his kids!

His pups.

Zelda was biting her lip in worry as she watched the gears in Link's head start working at the news. He was so still, she thought she had broken him. She was about to say something when he suddenly dropped to his knees, ignoring the uncomfortableness of his armor on his boots, as he flexed his fingers against her stomach with wide eyes.

It was like he was trying to feel the child kick.

That's when she saw the widest smile she had ever seen on his face as tears started to roll down his cheeks. He nuzzled against her stomach, the purring sound getting louder as his wolf was overjoyed to know of the pregnancy.

He gave the stomach a kiss before getting to his feet and pulled her in close as he kissed her deeply, silently crying with happiness as he went on about how he wouldn't let anything happen to her or the child; that's when she realized something.

She was carrying the Hero of Twilight's child. No one else could say that and it made her heart grow in size. Link had also realized something; the Queen of Hyrule was the mother of his child, no one else could have that and it made him ever the more happier and it made his heart also grow in size.

"I love you," Link said through his tears. "I love you so fucking much, Queen Zelda."

Zelda kissed him as her laugh echoed throughout the gardens. "I love you too, Hero of Twilight."

And to think, all of this was possible because of the decision to remake the once destroyed gardens; but it had brought them together. When he pulled her in for a hug, Link's eyes widened as he saw an outline of two people, holding hands with smiles on their faces.

The first outline had golden hair pulled back into a small ponytail with a scarred eye, wearing a white shirt with brown trousers, and the other outline had long golden hair wearing a pinkish-purple dress.

When he looked close enough, he could see the proudness behind their eyes and he smiled at the first outline.

Don't worry, Hero of Time… I'll take care of her and the baby, I promise… just like you did with your family… for now, you can rest in peace. I'll tell the little one all about your legacy... I promise!

Hero of Time's wife, Queen of Hyrule, I'll make sure your descendant is happy, and so will the baby. You got nothing to worry about! Hyrule's heir is in good hands.

For a split second, he could see a third outline of a person appearing, noting how this one looked a bit like his wife but much older and in the elderly stages, and he couldn't help but smile.

No worries, ma'am, I got this! Your granddaughter is in safe hands with me and my wolf, I promise you!

The Hero of Time, his wife, and Zelda's grandmother all nodded with happiness and approval behind his words. He watched as his mentor beamed widely before giving him a thumbs up before they vanished into the Spirit Realm.

Link smiled as he kissed his wife once more, he couldn't wait to meet his little one, and neither could she.

End

No one can fight me on the fact that the Magic Armor makes Link look like the King. I mean, that armor just makes him look royalty despite how it makes you go broke. I always made sure I had enough rupees to get it after Malo took over in Hyrule Castle Town's market.
