At this moment, Tails was wondering why he had been so nervous when talking to Sonic. That was a walk in the park compared to this chat with Amy. Of course, he tried his best not to show his nerves, for her sake.

"Tails, what are we going to do? Are we ready for this?"

"I don't know, Ames. I want to be ready. I really do. But, I'm not sure. We're still very young and we haven't even been a couple for that long either. You didn't even know I was Tails before yesterday! But, I have no issues with the timing. Sally and Sonic were only a few years older than me when they were caring for me as kids, so I'm sure we can pull it off. But only if you want to."

"Of course I want to, but are we really parent material? We're both GUN agents, so there's going to be a constant risk of one or both of us not coming home one day. Not to mention Sonic. If he ever gets out into the world again, you can bet we're going to be his first targets, and if he learns about our child, they'd be in danger. More danger than we were in when we were being hunted by Eggman. I don't want that life for our child."

"There's something else. If our child is a fox, or a hybrid, there's a very good chance that they'll share my twin tail trait, and as I've already explained, I don't have fond memories of how people reacted to mine. I don't want our child having to grow up being called a freak, but I also don't want them to have to hide a part of themselves. Speaking from experience, it's not fun."

There was a moment of silence between the two. Amy broke it.

"I understand. But, as I've said before, I do want to have a child with you. What you're saying could potentially apply to any children we might have in the future, so we'd have to deal with that anyway."

Silence fell upon the couple again briefly, and this time Tails broke it.

"You know what, you're right. But, there's something you said there that's just helped me make a decision. You said you want a child with me. Well, no time like the present, right? If we don't keep this child, it'll just make us feel guilty. But, as I said earlier, it's entirely up to you, Ames."

"No, you're right. Besides, if things get difficult, we'll always have Sally to turn to. She certainly did a decent job raising you!" They chuckled at that.

"So, it's decided then?"

"I guess so." Amy looked down at her as-of-yet non-existent baby bump.

"Welcome to the family."

Meanwhile, back at the cell, Bunnie had been relieved of her guard duties and was heading for Rotor's laboratory. It was located in the basement of the complex, nearly half a mile down. Thankfully, there was an elevator, so Bunnie didn't have to walk. The door was closed, but Bunnie could definitely hear the walrus working behind that heavy, metal door. She knocked twice, and was greeted with an open door seconds later.

"Bunnie. Survived your time guarding Sonic, then?"

"Barely. He certainly hasn't lost his quick wit."

"I dread to think. Which poor sap got the next shift?"

"Haven't a clue. I didn't choose them. She's a grey cat, but that's all I know. Anyway, you had something you wanted to show me? Your texts were pretty vague."

"You're the one who didn't pick up! But, yes, I do have something. You've already seen him, of course. You remember the MTP-Bot, right?"

"Of course I remember. There's not much about that day that I can forget." A brief moment of silence fell between the two as they remembered Knuckles. It was a short-lived silence.

"I know. It still haunts me to remember that it happened in my very own home. But, anyway, no point dwelling on it right now."

"Agreed. So, I'm here to see MTP-Bot?"

"Indeed you are, and there is a good reason. I'm well aware that most agents we send down to guard Sonic are scared of him. I know I would be. But, I was thinking, why not send MTP down?"

"We have already thought of that, Rotor. Sonic certainly didn't hesitate to wreck any of Eggman's robots, and it certainly wasn't much of a challenge for him."

"True, but we all so how he reacted to seeing Tails himself at the cemetery. I'm fairly confident that, even though MTP is very clearly a robot, the effect of seeing something that looks like and sounds like Tails did 11 years ago could be enough to keep him in line." Bunnie was silent as she pondered. She had to admit, she could certainly see the appeal.

"Fair enough. I'd have to run it by Sally and the other high-ranks first, of course, but let's say we go ahead with this plan. If you're assumption is wrong and Sonic isn't "kept it line", what countermeasures have you added to make MTP a suitable guard for him?"

"I'll show you personally." Rotor then led Bunnie to the far corner of the lab, where MTP-Bot was waiting. He didn't look all that different, except for a few extra details.

"Well, to start with, he's got more advanced systems that I… borrowed the blueprints for from Eggman's base a long time ago. It's a similar system to how Metal Sonic worked. So now, MTP should be able to match Sonic in speed, and it can perform calculations much quicker, so it's response time in combat situations should also be quicker. I've also re-engineered the tech we used in the cell bars, but I've added a function. While the bars act to dampen the Chaos powers, MTP is now coated in a version of the tech that can completely repel it. So, any long-range attacks from Sonic will be sent right back at him. I've also equipped a system that redirects that same energy into a forcefield trap that acts the same way as the cell, and should dampen Sonic's Chaos abilities. Another perk of that system is that it's also a passive system, which basically means that if MTP is anywhere near Sonic, his Chaos attacks will be weaker. Not gone completely, except for under the forcefield, but weaker. As for attack, not much has changed there. He still has all of the bells and whistles from the last time you saw him, but I have programmed in some of Sonic's own fighting moves from old recordings of him, so MTP should be able to hold his own in melee fighting as well. As of now, I can only think of two issues. One is power. He still needs recharged every now and again, and I haven't yet developed a system that allows him to be functional whilst charging. The other is his body. He isn't totally impervious to physical attacks, so if Sonic does manage to land a strong enough hit on him, he could still be damaged, but that shouldn't be too difficult to sort out. I could be done with those adjustments within a month or two."

"Well, keep working on it for the time being. As I said, I'll have to run it by Sally, which I think you should do as well, but from what I can hear, it sounds pretty good. I'll let you carry on with your tinkering. I'll send Sally down to see you when she's free."

"Sounds good. See you later, Bunnie."

"See you, Rotor."

Hey again, guys! I told you I'd be back! Don't really know what else to put here today, but there you go. But, I do have one small update regarding myself. Don't worry, it's nothing major. If you haven't already seen it, on my profile right now there is a poll regarding a potential name change for this profile. I've narrowed it down to 2 options, but I'd like you to help me to decide. I'll be leaving the poll open until next Saturday (September 5th), so you have until then to cast your votes. See you then!
