Michelle's P.O.V

I was in my dorm room finishing getting ready for my dinner date with Ruby and looked in the mirror and saw that my hands were shaking as I thought to myself, "Why am I shaking? It's just a perfectly normal dinner date and it will be fine, maybe I'm just nervous as this is the first proper date I have been on in a long time"

Then I heard a voice from behind me as it said, "Nervous huh?" I was startled as I turned around and saw Qrow standing in the doorway of my room so I replied,

"AHH! Qrow what are you doing here?"

Qrow chuckled as he said, "ha ha didn't mean to startle you kiddo, I heard you and Ruby were going on a dinner date together so I just wanted to wish you luck ironic as it is given my semblance." And I smiled as I replied,

"T-thanks Qrow, I should probably get going as Ruby is probably waiting for me."

And Qrow nodded as he held out his hand and said to me, "Right, how about I accompany you as the least I could do."

I nodded as I took Qrow's hand into my own as I replied, "That would be nice, and I think Ruby would like that as well." Before we left my dorm room as we walked down the hall and to the airship.

Ruby was waiting by the airship for her girlfriend wearing her black dress with a red trim with Jaune and the others as Nora said to Ruby, "Relax Ruby, I know this is your first time going on a romantic date but it will be fine." And Ruby smiled at Nora as she replied,

"I know, and umm I guess I am just a little nervous because this is my first ever time having a romantic date with Michelle and I just hope it goes well."

Just then Qrow and Michelle walked over to them as Qrow said with a smile, "You know kiddo, you're not the only one who's nervous about this as Michelle here is just as nervous as you are." And Michelle blushed a little as she said to Ruby,

"I-It's true, I was practically shaking in our dorm room before your uncle offered to walk me to the airship to meet you so...are you ready for this?"

And Ruby walked over to Michelle and took her hands into her own and gave her a kiss on her lips as she replied, "I am ready for this Michelle, let's umm just enjoy each other's company and a lovely dinner together." Before she then gently lead Michelle onto the airship and waved at their friends as the airship took off for Mantel.

In Mantel...

When Michelle and Ruby arrived in Mantel Michelle took out her scroll while holding hands with her girlfriend as they walked down the street as she said with a smile on her face, "Now let's see...the restaurant Weiss suggested we go to should be...this one here!" as they both looked up at the sign of the restaurant with smiles on their faces.

Before Ruby then turned to Michelle as smiled and said, "well, umm what are we waiting for Michelle let's have a nice meal together." Before they slowly walked inside the restaurant where they saw the hustle and bustle of staff and customers before they then walked up to the podium where a waitress was waiting for them and she smiled a little as she noticed this was their first time at a restaurant together before she said to them, "good evening ladies, table for two? Or booth?"

Michelle then smiled and read the waitress's name tag which was Lauren before she replied, "Booth please, under the name Cass." And Lauren took a minute as she looked at the reservation list before she smiled and nodded her head as she said, "Certainly, right this way please." And both Michelle and Ruby followed the waitress as she lead them to their booth where Michelle sat on one side of the booth while Ruby sat on the other side of the booth before Lauren said to them, "Can I get you any drinks?"

Both Michelle and Ruby looked at the menu before they took turns ordering their drinks as Michelle said to the waitress, "Yeah I'll have a strawberry sunrise. None alcoholic." And Lauren wrote it down on her notepad before she turned to Ruby and said to her,

"And for you miss?"

Ruby then smiled as she replied, "And umm I'll have a tropical lovers please. None alcoholic." And Lauren wrote it down on her notepad before she smiled at the couple as she said with a smile,

"Right. So that is one strawberry sunrise. None alcoholic and that is one tropical lovers also none alcoholic. Can I get you ladies anything else?"

Then Michelle smiled once more as she said to the waitress, "yes, I'll have a burger and chips please." And Lauren wrote it down on her notepad before she turned to Ruby and said,

"And you miss?"

Before Ruby took another look at the menu before looking back at the waitress as she replied with a smile on her face, "Umm I'll have the same as my partner please." And the waitress smiled as she wrote it down on her notepad before she then said to the couple,

"Certainly, I'll be right back with your order."

Lauren the walked away from the booth as she took other customer's orders leaving Michelle and Ruby to talk as they talked about various subjects from their most recent mission to their new friends Neo and Ember before Ruby smiled as she said, "I umm I see you didn't deny that we were a couple this time Michelle." And Michelle blushed a little as she smiled back at Ruby and replied,

"Well...why would I Ruby? You are my love of my life and sweet little rose petal so of course I want to tell the world that you are mine and I am yours."

And Ruby blushed a little in return as she replied, "Oh stop it Michelle, you really know how to make a girl feel special don't you." Before she continued, "A-and umm you are the love of my life too, and I would do anything to protect you from harm." And Michelle smiled as she said,

"As would I Ruby my sweet little rose."

Their food and drinks arrived a few minutes later and they were busy eating their meals while occasionally taking a sip from their drinks and when they had finished their meals Ruby blushed a little and took a deep breath before she said, "Michelle, I umm I got you a little something with some help from Blake and Yang...I hope you like it." And she went into her shoulder bag and pulled out a little box and slid it across the table to Michelle.

Michelle looked at the box in her hands for a few minutes before they heard alarms blaring as a few Grimm sabertooth and Mammoth were running through the streets and Michelle sighed a little as she said, "Oh for the love of...we can't catch a break can we? Well, duty calls I guess." As she put the box in her shoulder bag and readied her gauntlets while Ruby readied her crescent rose before they left the money for the bill on the table and headed out to stop the Grimm.

Later...

After Michelle and Ruby took care of the Grimm easily with Michelle's Maiden power and Ruby's silver eyes the people of Mantel were cheering them before Ruby noticed Michelle's dress was slightly torn and some claw marks on her side before Ruby dashed over to Michelle and looked worried as she said to her, "Michelle! Y-you're hurt!"

Michelle then coughed a little as she held her side and smiled at Ruby as she replied, "I'll be ok Ruby, it's just a little scratch I have suffered way worse before, although my dress is a little ruined." And Ruby held her girlfriend in her arms as she giggled a little and said,

"You sound a little like Weiss, but umm it's ok as we can buy a new one, shall we continue where we were before we were interrupted?"

So Michelle slowly got back to her feet with the help of her girlfriend before she smiled and replied, "Yeah, I believe I was just about to look at what you got me before the Grimm attacked." Before Michelle then took the box out of her shoulder bag and slowly opened it up to reveal a silver necklace with a purple rose hanging from it and Michelle gasped a little before she said, "Ruby...this is gorgeous I love it, but...now I feel bad as I didn't get you anything."

Ruby then stood on her tip toes as she gave her girlfriend a passionate kiss on her lips before she broke away from the kiss and blushed the same colour as her cape as she replied, "I-I'm glad you like it Michelle, and it's ok you don't have to get me anything to make me feel special because umm I already feel special just being with you."

Then Michelle smiled at Ruby as some tears crept their way into her eyes and she pulled Ruby into another passionate kiss which slowly grew more and more intense before they had to break away for air as Michelle said, "I had fun tonight Ruby, despite our evening being interrupted by Grimm and...maybe we could do something like this again soon."

And Ruby blushed a little again as she replied, "I umm I had a lot of fun tonight Michelle even if the Grimm interrupted our evening together, a-and I would love to do something like this with you again soon anyway it's getting pretty late so we should probably head back to the airship before we miss the last airship back to Atlas which would mean we would have to spend the night in a hotel together."

Even though Michelle was in pain she let out a little laugh as she took Ruby's hand into her own as their fingers intertwined with each other before she said, "That wouldn't be so bad Ruby, besides the restaurant wasn't that expensive." And Ruby let out a cute laugh of her own as she replied as they were walking back towards the airship,

"Yeah I guess you're right about that Michelle, but if we get back to Atlas you can be treated for your wound just like I was."

They managed to make it back to the airship in time as the captain said to them with a smile on his face, "You two lovebirds are lucky as this is the last airship heading to Atlas for tonight." And Ruby let out a sigh of relief before she replied to the captain,

"Thanks, I guess we were lucky we got here in time for the last airship."

Before Ruby then helped Michelle climb on board before she climbed in after her and Michelle was clutching her side where she was struck by a Grimm sabertooth before she slowly reached into her shoulder bag and pulled out a couple of lolly sticks and her eyes glowed blue for a few moments before they went back to their normal grey colour as Michelle turned to Ruby and said, "we didn't even get to have dessert and umm I know it's not much but at least it's something." Before she handed Ruby one of the ice lollies she made.

Ruby then rested her head on Michelle's shoulder as she took the ice lolly in her hand and licked it a little before she replied with a smile on her face, "This will do for now Michelle, and umm I like vanilla." Before she then let out a little yawn before she fell asleep on Michelle.

Michelle then smiled as she looked down at her sleeping girlfriend as she thought to herself, "Ruby looks so cute and peaceful when she's asleep." Before Michelle then gave Ruby a kiss on her forehead as she whispered to her, "Goodnight Ruby, sleep well my beautiful rose."

Back at Atlas Academy...

When the airship returned to Atlas Michelle was carrying Ruby bridal style and was wincing with every step she took before Qrow ran over to Michelle and took Ruby from her as he said with a smile on his face, "It's ok kiddo, I'll carry Ruby to your room and by the looks of things you guys had a hell of a evening together."

And Michelle reluctantly handed Ruby over to her uncle before she clutched her side in pain as she replied with a smile on her face, "Thank you Qrow, I'm gonna get myself checked out at the infirmary then I am going to join Ruby in my room." Before she then slowly walked towards the infirmary before she collapsed down to a knee.

Then Michelle looked up and saw Yang and Weiss wrap her arms over their shoulders before Yang smiled at Michelle as she said, "I think you and my little sis have had enough fun for one night so let us take care of you Michelle, we're your friends and we are a team after all." And Michelle hissed a little in pain as she replied,

"Ha, I guess I would be pretty screwed without friends like you guys so let's go to the infirmary so I can be checked out then I can snuggle in my bed next to Ruby."

Inside Michelle and Ruby's dorm room...

Ruby's P.O.V

I woke up in my uncle's arms as I said to him sleepily, "Hey uncle Qrow, where's Michelle?" and my uncle smiled at me as he continued walking towards the dorms as he replied,

"Michelle has gone to get herself checked out at the infirmary and she will be with you soon don't worry kiddo."

He then opened the door to my room with his foot before he then placed me down on the bed and pulled the covers over me before he just smiled at me as he said, "Goodnight Ruby." Before he then left the room leaving me on the bed.

And I laid on the bed thinking to myself, "I hope my girlfriend is ok, I had so much fun being in Michelle's company"

After Michelle had gotten checked out at the infirmary she was walking back to her dorm room when she took out her scroll from her shoulder bag and saw she had a couple of messages with one of them being from Neo and the other one being from Ember and she decided to open Neo's message first as it said "Cinder has gone. But we know where Salem's fortress is." And Michelle smiled a little before she then opened up Ember's message as it said "It's in Vacuo somewhere. We'll let you know if we find out anything else."

Michelle then walked into her dorm room and saw Ruby curled up under the covers on the bed so she placed her shoulder bag down next to Ruby's and gently climbed into bed next to her and climbed under the covers next to Ruby where Ruby immediately wrapped her arm around her and Michelle just smiled before wrapping her own arm over Ruby and gave her a kiss on her forehead as she whispered, "Goodnight Ruby, sweet dreams my beautiful crimson reaper." Before she slowly drifted off to sleep herself.
