Dragon Ball Z: Alternate Love

Chapter 21: Little Green

Krillin, Gohan and Chi Cha were fleeing with the small Namekian as Dedoria chased them down like a mad dog!

As they sped off, Krillin yelled, "you two sure got his attention!"

Chi Cha, "we couldn't let him kill him!"

Gohan, "we were too late for the others, but not this kid!"

They could hear Dedoria yell, "I'm coming for ya!"

Chi Cha, "what do we do?!"

Krillin, "just keep flying! Quick, one of you take this little green guy!"

Chi Cha quickly took the Namekian child into her arms as Krillin quickly turned around and yelled, "Gohan, Chi Cha, Little Green guy, close your eyes tight!"

And so they did, and as Dedoria got closer, Krillin pointed his fingers to his closed eyes and yelled, "SOLAR FLAIR!"

A bright light caused Dedoria to stop right in his tracks as he rubbed at his eyes in anguish.

Dedoria, "aaghh! My eyes! That burns like seeing Frieza coming out of the shower!"

Krillin quickly zoomed right behind his friends, and they were soon out of sight for Dedoria to follow them, and without his scouter, they were home free!

As Desirua began to regain his eyesight, he yelled, "where the Hell are you little freaks?! You think you can do that to me, and get away to it?! I'm gonna hunt you down to the ends of this measly little planet!"

"Oh, they're the least of your problems."

Dedoria slowly turned around, and was now face to face with grinning Vegeta….

….

As this happened, Krillin and the others had finally gotten away, and were hiding behind a large plateau.

They were all panting heavily as they stood together.

As they began to calm down, Krillin turned to the Namekian and asked, "hey, Little Green, you okay?"

The Namekian, "y-yes."

Gohan, "do you have a name?"

The Namekian, "D-Dende."

Chi Cha found herself blushing uncontrollably at the young green alien. Cor some reason, she felt like she knew this boy. Or rather, was destined to meet him? She couldn't quite place it.

Krillin, "it's nice to meet you Dende. Allow us to introduce ourselves?"

Dende, "by all means."

Krillin, "my name's Krillin."

Gohan, "I'm Gohan."

Chi Cha was silent as she stated at Dende.

Gohan, "uh, Chi Cha?"

Chi Cha, "ScIeNcE?!"

"…."

Krillin, "huh?"

Chi Cha, "s-sorry. Uh, hi, hello there, I'm Chi Cha."

Luckily, Dende had not caught on to her flustering.

Dende, "it is very nice to meet you all. You must not be from Namek."

Gohan, "no. We're from Earth."

Krillin, "we came to ask for permission to use the Dragon Balls here."

Dende, "the men who've been attacking my planet want the Dragon Balls for a selfish reason. What are yours?"

Krillin, "well, our friends were killed when defending our planet. We want to bring them back from the dead, and bring back the Dragon Balls on our world."

Dende, "wait, you have, er, had Dragon Balls?"

Gohan, "yeah. A Namekian named Kami came to Earth long ago. He split into two halves. Kami, and Piccolo."

Chi Cha, "Mister Piccolo was killed in battle, and thus-"

Dende, "your Dragon Balls disappeared."

Krillin, "right. But, after seeing all of this, we wanna help you save your planet."

Dende, "really?!"

Chi Cha, "yes, of course. If we can manage to get the Dragon Balls first, we can stop these guys' plan and save Namek! We'd be happy to help!"

Dende, "oh thank you!"

Dende lunged forward and wrapped Chi Cha in a tight hug. Chi Cha's blush only grew as this occurred."

Krillin, "but first, let's head back to camp. Can you fly on your own Dende?"

Dende, "yes."

And so, as Dende let Chi Cha go, the four of them raced off to find camp….

Bulma was sitting in the bath, trying to melt some of her stress away as she talked with Roshi on the phone, "and so, we're not stuck, but with how dangerous it is here, we need help!"

Roshi, "well you're in luck! Goku and Raditz have just left, and are now heading to Namek. Your dad said the ship should arrive in six days!"

Bulma, "what?! Really? When did this happen?"

Roshi, "well, let me break down the events for ya….

….

Flashback

Goku was sitting in a wheelchair, with his arm in a sling, and bandages on his head.

Raditz was nearby with Maron. Goku had met the girl that had stolen Raditz' heart, and was happy for his brother. He had found love like he had with Bulma.

Goku has just been forced back into the wheelchair by a blonde nurse when he tried to get out and exercise, when Roshi, Korin and Tien came through the door.

Goku, "ah, Master Roshi, Korin, Tien, what brings you by?"

Tien, "well, Launch is about eight months now, so we decided to have her stay here at the hospital in case she goes into labour."

Goku, "I hope it goes well for you guys."

Tien, "thanks."

Roshi, "well, we've got good news! Korin's latest batch of sensu beans have finished growing! He's got at least fifty of them!"

Korin, "I went overboard with the harvest this time. Don't expect as many next time, got it?"

Goku, "yeah, totally. You're just in time, Borifu, Bulma's dad, Dr. Briefs, just told me he's finished a ship for me and Raditz to use to get to Namek!"

Roshi, what? How?"

Goku, "first, let me have one of them sensu beans!"

Korin tossed a bean to Goku, and the bag to Raditz. Raditz caught it as it almost flew into Maron's face.

Goku quickly gobbled the bean, and felt his strength return! The bandages around his head and arm seemed to blow off as Goku jumped into the air. Roshi tossed Goku his gi, and as everyone turned away, Goku stripped and donned his signature outfit once more! Raditz even had to keep his girlfriend from taking a peek at his brother.

Goku, "this feels better! Good to be back in my usual clothes. Now, where was I?"

Raditz, "how did Dr. Briefs build us a ship?!"

Goku, "well, a while back, I remembered two other ships on Earth. The first was Raditz' torn up pod."

Raditz, "we can thank my nephew, your son for that."

Goku, "and the other was the one I came in!"

Roshi, "ah! Of course!"

Tien, "that was some great thinking Goku!"

Goku yelled out the window, "hey, Flying Nimbus!"

The cloud suddenly stopped right by the window, and Goku called to his brother, "meet me at Capsule Corp!"

Raditz, "will do Ka-, Goku!"

As Goku sped off, Raditz turned to Maron and said, "so, I'm going to be gone for quite a while. No idea how long. I need to help my brother save our friends. If I don't come back, I wanted to tell you that…. I think I lo-"

Maron pressed her fingers to his lips and said, "tell me when you get back."

Raditz grinned at her as he kissed her one final time before running out the window and flying after his brother.

Maron walked over to the window, smiling as she rubbed her stomach a bit, unaware of something going on in her body…..

Several minutes later

The brothers found themselves back at Capsule Corp. Panchy was just watering the flowers when she spotted her son in law and his brother.

Panchy, "oh, Goku dear! It's so good to see you up and about!"

Goku, "thanks Panchy. Uh, could you tell me where the ship Borifu is making is right now?"

Panchy, "oh certainly, follow me!"

Panchy led the two men through the courtyard of the building, unintentionally swaying her hips a bit.

Raditz had to pull his eyes away and repeat in his head, 'I'm with Maron, I'm with Maron, I'm with Maron!'

Soon, they found Dr. Briefs, sitting on the front porch reading. He lifted his head up and saw Goku and Raditz following his wife to him.

Dr. Briefs, "oh, Goku, Raditz. Glad you could make it so soon. I've just finished modifications on the ship! Come take a look!"

Panchy went off and said, "I'll bring you boys some lemonade."

Dr. Briefs led them over to a large spherical ship with the Capsule Corp logo on it.

Goku, "wow! You got this from that little pod?!"

Dr. Briefs, "yep. And it's bigger on the inside. I built you guys two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen area, and that one thing you asked me to build."

Goku, "the gravity machine?"

Dr. Briefs, "yep. You'll be able to go up to one hundred times the Gravity of Earth!"

Goku, "that's amazing!"

Raditz, "that'll definitely give us some good training on the way to Namek."

Dr. Briefs, "now, you can go ahead and look inside the ship, and I have to go check something out real quick."

Goku, "righteo."

As Dr. Briefs walked off, Goku and Raditz entered the ship. The training area was the first room they entered, with a ladder near the right leading down to the living arrangements.

Goku, "so, uh, how do you think this thing starts."

Raditz pointed at the control panel to the gravity machine, and there was a smaller panel with some small numbered buttons; and a large red button. A small screen had coordinates plugged in for Planet Namek.

Raditz, "something tells me that's the start button."

As Dr. Briefs was walking back to the ship, Panchy in toe with a tray of lemonade, Oolong and Puar were running towards them.

Oolong, "is it true? Are Goku and Raditz here?"

Puar, "we just heard that they got out of the hospital?"

Panchy, "hmm, oh yes, they were just checking out the ship!"

That's when they all suddenly heard rumbling.

Everyone looked around as Panchy accidentally dropped the pitcher of lemonade.

And that's when everyone saw it.

The ship was flying into the air, and gaining speed as it raced towards its destination.

Oolong, "... And there they go."

Dr. Briefs, "darn. I didn't get to add the coffee machine!"

Panchy, "I don't think Goku drinks coffee…."

Flashback ends

….

Roshi, "and so, your parents told me all about it. Goku and Raditz should arrive in about six days!"

Bulma started laughing in joy, lifting her arms into the air as she said her husband's name, "Goku!"

The phone had accidentally flopped into the water.

"Bulma? Helloooo?"

….

And during this, we see the ship flying through space, with Goku and Raditz training. Goku was helping his brother get used to doing ten times Earth's Gravity. Raditz was doing push ups.

Raditz knew he needed to get as strong as his brother before they got to Namek. So, the older brother had swallowed his pride and let Goku act like the teacher.

So, Raditz was doing push ups with Goku standing on his back.

Lord knows how intense the training would get….

….

And during ALL of that, Vegeta and Dedoria were staring down one another.

Dedoria, "well, well, well. If it ain't the Prince of the Apes."

Vegeta, "Saiyans have tails you idiot. Like a monkey. If you're gonna insult the man who's about to kill you, you better make it a good one."

Dedoria, "ooh, cocky, are we? Last we met, I was much stronger than you."

Vegeta, "oh, you wanna test that?"

Dedoria, "I would, but we ain't got any scouters around. Except for yours."

Vegeta, "oh, you mean this?"

Vegeta took the device from his face and held it out to Dedoria."

Dedoria, "ah, good."

But before he could get close to it, Vegeta crushed the device in his hand, turning it into a small pile of scrap!

Dedoria, "ngh, the Hell?! Now YOU don't have a way to find anyone on this planet!"

Vegeta, "oh, that's where you're wrong. You see, back on Earth, I picked up a special trick from there. I can navigate my way quite well. So, I don't need your help for directions.'

Vegeta took a step toward his enemy, "w-wait!"

Vegeta, "if you wanna survive for a few more meaningless moments, you better have some information for me…."

Dedoria, "ngh, uh, ngh, I KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO PLANET VEGETA!"

Vegeta smirk turned to a frown, "explain shit stain."

Dedoria, "I, I was there. The day the Planet was destroyed."

Vegeta, "yes, by a meteor, we all know the story."

Desoria, "wrong!"

Vegeta, "what do you mean?"

Dedoria, "Frieza did it."

Vegeta, "... what?"

Dedoria, "Frieza was sick of you damn Saiyans. So, after he killed your daddy, the King, he blew up that eye sore. You, Nappa, Raditz and that brother he went looking for are all that's left. Well, you and one other."

Vegeta was seething in anger, but wanted to get as much info out of the pink tub of lard as possible.

Vegeta, "and who's that?!"

Dedoria, "Raditz' ole momma. Gine."

(Dun dun duuuuuuu!)

Vegeta, "I don't really care about her, but how did she survive?"

Dedoria, "she heard ole Bardock's warning to the Saiyans about Frieza. She left to find Raditz, but we found her. We've had her held captive ever since."

Vegeta, "... well, thanks for that information Dedoria. Now, I'm gonna give you fifteen seconds to get out of here."

Dedoria, "w-what? B-but I just helped you!"

Vegeta, "I'm up to three seconds!"

Dedoria, "wait, why don't we join forces?! You and me, against Frieza?!"

Vegeta, "already heard that song and dance, SIX!"

Dedoria quickly turned heel and sped off.

Vegeta, "seven, eight, you're too late!"

Vegeta suddenly threw a blast of energy at Dedoria. A big one! It raced towards him, and suddenly engulfed him! Dedoria tried to scream, but before he could, he was burnt into nothing! Not even ash was left!

Vegeta was snickering, and as he got his bearings, he said, "now, time to find myself a Dragon Ball…."

….

Meanwhile

Yamcha and Chi Chi were playing a game.

Sorta.

Yamcha, "I spy, with my little eye, something green."

Chi Chi, "is it the sky again, or the water again?"

Yamcha, "yes."

Chi Chi, "to which one?"

Yamcha, "yes."

And that's when they saw them. Gohan, Krillin, Dende and Chi Cha were flying towards them!

Yamcha, "they're back!"

Chi Chi, "oh thank you space Jesus!"

As the four of them landed, Krillin yelled, "tell Bulma that we have a guest!"

Bulma quickly ran outside and stood with Yamcha and Chi Chi. Luckily, she had her suit deactivated, as to not scare the, "guest", Krillin mentioned.

Dende walked forward, giving a confused look at Bulma.

Krillin, "uh, you okay Dende?"

Dende, "what are those strange bumps 9n their chests?"

Chi Chi, "what?"

Bulma, "Kami-Damnit, it's like meeting Goku all over again!"

Gohan, "wait, Dende, you don't know what a woman is, right?"

Dende, "no, what's a woman?"

Yamcha, "well, uh, y'know. When a man and a woman love each other very much, they make a baby?"

Dende, "the Grand Elder us the father of all the Namekians. He birthed us all from eggs."

Chi Chi, "a race made up entirely of men?"

Krillin, "eh, sci fi has stuff like that in it all of the time."

Chi Chi, "enough, can we please go back to who this is?"

Chi Cha, "this is Dende. He was the only survivor of his village."

Krillin, "we were right. Those guys we saw earlier are after the Dragon Balls. They already have five. We barely got away from one of them that chased us."

Bulma, "well, I've got good news. Goku and Raditz are on their way here!"

Krillin, "what?! Really?!"

Gohan, "dad and uncle Raditz are coming?!"

Bulma, "yep. All we have to do is hold out for six days!"

Chi Chi, "that's easier said than done."

Dende, "I have an idea!"

Everyone, "huh?"

Dende, "The Grand Elder. He has one of the Dragon Balls. We may be able to receive his help!"

Bulma, "that's a great idea! We need all the help we can get."

Krillin, "alright. I'll go with Dende to see this Grand Elder guy. Who's coming with?"

Chi Cha "I'll go!"

Chi Chi, "and it's my turn to go."

Yamcha, "then I guess me, Gohan and Bulma will stay here."

Krillin, "alright then. You guys just stay out of sight, and keep your power levels down. We'll head back here as soon as we can."

Krillin, Chi Chi and Chi Cha all turned towards Dende.

Chi Chi, "lead the way little green."

Dende, "can we please not use that nickname?"

Chi Chi, "right, sorry."

And so, the four companions flew up into the air and raced off, following Dende to this, "Grand Elder", he spoke of.

mmat: well, my idea for that was this; she made it off of Planet Vegeta before it was was blown up, and has been held prisoner on Frieza's ship since then. And once our heroes take the ship while Frieza is gone, they find her there, and she's able to reunite with her sons.

PokemonFreak90: thanks. I wanted Bulma to be able to protect herself better. And as for Gine surviving, she caught Bardock's warning to the Saiyans and fled to find Raditz while he was with Vegeta and Nappa. She was captured by Frieza, and has been his prisoner ever since.

yasserkend8: I have plans for her. I'm planning on having her helping the others during the Androids and Cell.

TheMediaGhost: those were my thoughts. Gine was an emotional anchor for Raditz in this story, so finding her alive could bring him closer to Goku and the others.

Yep, since a few people liked the idea, I'm having Gine, Goku and Raditz' mom alive, taken hostage by Frieza all this time. When she appears, she'll be about fifty five years old, and being a fighter, will look good for her age.

I know Bulma's dad is just named Dr. Brief, or Dr. Briefs, or whatever, depending on who you ask, but I thought that was a little lame, so I called him a loose spelling of his Japanese name, Borifu. I think it fits.

Also, some of you have noticed that Raditz started trying to calm Goku by his earth name after the fight with Vegeta. He first does it when he transforms into a giant monkey and tells Vegeta to stay away from Kak-, ad he stops himself before saying Goku. Just thought it's a nice detail, since Raditz and his brother are growing closer.
