Daphne watched her son and Pan training in the gardens. He was spending more and more time here now than focusing on his muggle life. After their confrontation they hadn't talked to each other that much. She had finally come to terms with that fact that her son was finally old enough to make his own decisions. If he was willing to sacrifice his muggle life to save his father and godfather so be it. By being here he was also boosting others' morale which was in short supply ever since Harry and Gohan's capture.

When Boris knocked at her door she closed her balcony's blinds, casting privacy charms all over.

"What did you find?" she asked.

"I fear I have no news," he said putting a thin file on the table. She picked it up, flipping the pages. There weren't many and they all contained information she didn't find useful. "She's like a ghost. There's basically no record of her life whatsoever. All that I was able to pull out was from her muggle life which is also that of a very normal, almost non-existing person."

"Keeping a low profile means you've got something to hide," Daphne said. "What about her magical education?"

"Nothing," Boris said. "It could be possible that she was home-schooled. I pulled all the strings but nothing. I am sorry."

"Don't be," she said. "This just makes her more or a suspect than before. Keep an eye on her. My instincts are screaming that she might not be good news to my son. Amy Edison, born and raised in a French family before coming to Britain when she was nineteen. With her aura being that strong it is suggestive that she was more than just home-schooled."

James was improving at a blindingly fast rate. Once he had figured out his ki and magic manipulation other things came in quite fast to him. By the next week he could fly although not as fast and sharp as Pan but it was a nice progress for a beginner like him. As per his request Pan had agreed to teach a few more of their age and others those who liked to join. Ava was the first one to join followed by other young people in their group.

As timed passed they all came close to each other. James got to know everyone's names, some of their stories – those who willingly told it to him. Knowing their stories he came to find out how much they all had lost. Those who were unwilling to share their past life made James guess that they'd only lost more than others. He developed a new kind of respect for each of them as this also gave him more of a reason to fight Tenille and her forces now.

Ultimately he almost completely gave up on his muggle life, his medical training and would lie to Amy about being going to the training center. Instead he spent all his time at the manor training and learning new spells and moves. The time chamber in the basement only added to his learning skills as he utilized it to read many and many books related to spells, potions, charms, runes and whatnot. Hermione couldn't be more proud of him. She often joked how he was more studious than Pan had ever been causing Pan to throw a childish fit which was entertaining to everyone.

As time passed new information came to light about a possible hideout of Tenille's forces. If this information was true then this could be a big hit as this hideout was strategically very important for Tenille's plans. If they were able to destroy it then it would certainly give a heavy blow to her armies.

For James it was different this time. With his last experience from the raid and with his newly learned skills he was more confident, strong and determined to cause a serious dent to Tenille's army.

"I don't understand why we always choose the night time," Pan complained as they arrived at the location. It was a mountain range so things were a lot difficult this time. This terrain was not something their group was well-trained for plus the snow and cold make things even more difficult. Luckily the heating charms had them under normal temperatures but it didn't mean that the odds were in their favor.

Like before James and Pan were together, however, they were given the responsibility of a small group as well which they were told to lead. That made James a bit nervous but Pan gave him confidence that he could do that. They were a total of six people including Pan and James. Ava was also in his group for which he didn't know why but he was thankful for.

"So, tell me Potter," Pan said. "Do you believe in yetis?"

"Those are just myths," James said.

"So you're telling me that after coming to know about magic, dragons, aliens and monsters you find I hard to believe that Yetis exist?" she asked.

"You've got a point there," James said. "Wait a minute…" he realized what he was getting at when one of their groups was attacked.

"Yetis!" someone shouted.

Yetis were known for their rage, brute strength and resistance to a lot of magical spells and charms. This was why their hide was only second to dragon skin in making armors. They were also known for brutally smashing magical shields because of which many of the resistance was being pushed back.

James took a note of his group. Everyone was close by. That was good as he went into formation with Pan – back to back. James was the eyes while Pan was the one attacking only this time James was also prepared as he started firing spells at the yetis. There were also skrulls, trolls, giants and a few dementors.

Abe took care of the dementors first thing while a small group of witches and wizards targeted the trolls and giants. Since because of their size and thick skins not many spells worked on them they were relied on floating spells to throw the trolls and giants off of the mountains.

James and his group focused on the yetis and skrulls like a few others. This was worse than the last time but the hideout was in sight and no one was in mood to lose and run away this time. However when James heard a shrill cry of pain and turned to see Ava hit by one of the counter spell from the other side his rage took over.

Even before Pan or anyone else could stop him James sprinted towards the attacker, his wand flashing in his palm which he didn't use. The attacker was taken aback by James' sudden speed and quickness with which he dodged his spells as the next moment James was standing merely inches away from him, grabbing his wand in his hand.

He snapped the man's wand in front of his eyes before stabbing the two pieces of wood into his eyes. He then lifted him by his neck and snapped it mid-air. Even that didn't give him the satisfaction so James saw a yeti close by and headed for it.

By now Hermione and Daphne had noticed it thanks to Pan and they wondered what had gotten into James. They all saw with horror as James massacred Tenille's army all by himself. His cry of rage didn't go unheard by anyone as they all felt her presence. Daphne also noticed a slight shimmer in James' hand before it disappeared. It made sense that James could summon it, too but he wasn't quite ready for it yet as it seemed.

"We need to get him out of there now!" Daphne said as Hermione took out a coin from her pocket.

"Let's retreat!" she said. Everyone heard her before gathering quickly. She looked at Pan. "Go get him."

Pan nodded as she flew over to James, knocking him out in a single strike by the back of his neck as Hermione activated the collective portkey making everyone to disappear from the place.

Everyone arrived safely at the Potter manor and saw as James struggled in his binds that Pan had him in.

"What happened to him?" she asked looking at Daphne.

"He's showing rage," Daphne said. "How…I don't know why or how this happened. It seems like something triggered it."

"It was me," said Ava grabbing their attention. She had an elf treating to her wounds. "When I got hit by a slashing curse and cried he saw and went berserk."

Pan raised her eyebrows looking from Ava to James. "Well, well, well. Looks like he has fallen for someone." Ava blushed hard, looking away from everyone. Pan winked at her.

"Pan," Hermione warned her. "What do we do?" she asked looking at Daphne.

"He needs his thoughts and emotions to settle down," she said. "I already gave him sleeping drought and calming potions but none of them are working."

"His magic is resisting them," Hermione said.

"Guys, whatever you want to come up with do it fast," Pan said. "He's overpowering my binds."

"Ava!" Daphne said causing Ava to flinch. "You said he became like this after seeing you get hurt?"

"I…I think so," she said.

"Well, then looks like you are the only one who can help calm him down," said Daphne. "Come here."

"O…Okay," she said as she slowly walked over to them.

"Stand here," said Daphne making her stand next to the bed James was tied to. "James?" she called. "James?"

James looked at her before his eyes fell on Ava and he calmed down a little.

"That's right," Daphne said, seeing the immediate effect, "she's fine. Ava is okay." She then looked at her and nodded at Ava.

"I…I'm fine, James," said Ava.

"Go a little closer," Pan chirped from behind.

Pan!" Hermione said.

"Do it," Daphne said causing Ava to look at her with wide eyes. "Let him see you're not hurt," she said.

Ava hesitantly walked closer to the bed and bent down a little so that James could look at her face more clearly. Daphne could tell that his vision was blurry if not completely gone because of how dilated his pupils were.

"James?" Ava called. "I am alright, James."

James stopped moving as he looked at her. She was breathing heavily, being this close to a boy was a first time for her. Her blush was visible to everyone in the room.

"Ava?" James muttered in a dry voice.

"It's me, James," she said. "See? I'm not hurt."

"That's…That's good," he said before slipping into unconsciousness.

For the next few days James underwent complete rest and recuperation. He had heavily drained his core that night under his rage. No one knew how he had become like that. It had also caused some people to start fearing him.

Daphne and Hermione had him under constant surveillance. Ava would come visit him every few hours. Pan couldn't stop teasing James about how Ava liked him and he liked Ava much to James' embarrassment.

After a few days he got back into his normal state as James finally left his room, feeling good after some time. He noticed how people started to distance from him. He understood why. Pan had told him about it. He wondered how he could fix that when news about another hideout came in.

This time James was told not to go. He understood why and he accepted it. Ava was also told not to go and to supervise them both George, one of the few in actual command of their group was told to stay back as well. He was a man in his early forties and was quite a skillful and strong wizard. His talents were only next to James' parents, god parents and Abe.

Pan had to go. She was a very important part of the resistance group because of her skills and power.

James sat in his room. It was raining heavily outside. Fortunately this time the raid was in the daylight but it also meant that their group was more exposed due to the light. At least during the night time they could hide behind the darkness.

Ava knocked on his door and came in. "How are you feeling?" she asked.

"Ava," James said as he stood up. "I'm…I'm fine. "You…You were looking for something?"

"I got bored downstairs so I thought I would come see you," she said.

"Come, sit," James said as he patted the empty space on the bed next to him. Ava slowly walked over and sat down beside him. "I'm sorry you had to see me like that."

"It's okay," she said. "You also took down more than half of Tenille's army all by yourself."

"I don't know what happened," he said. "When I saw you get hurt something just exploded inside of me…" he stopped talking as Ava kissed him on the lips. "Thank you for saving us that night," she said. For a moment James wondered what was happening before he started to kiss her back. Their breathing became labored as their hormones climbed up. James was about to put his hands on her breasts as she was about to undone his buttons when they both stopped and looked away from each other.

The awkwardness between them was palpable as James cleared his throat. "So, umm…" he couldn't think of anything to speak. He had just kissed a girl…cheated on Amy. But somehow it didn't feel wrong.

"Would you…Would you like something to eat?" Ava asked.

"I am feeling a little bit hungry," he said as awkwardly as her.

"I'll make something down in the kitchen," she said standing up.

"Wait a minute," James said standing up as well. "Let's go outside. I am bored as hell staying in here. I know a great place in my neighborhood."

"Okay," she replied meekly. 'Gosh you are so hot!' she shook her head shoving that thought aside. Did she just think that?

"What? You don't want to go?" asked James seeing her shake her head.

"No, no. I would love to," she said quickly. "It was just something else was on my mind, that's it."

"Oh, okay," James said as Ava left the room. He watched her go wondering what had just happened between them. What that all real? It did feel good though, better than when he and Amy did it. He shook his head, clearing his mind as a smile came upon his face. He walked over to his closet to change.

Coming out normally like this was a good change. He'd missed the muggle streets. Normally for the past few months he was only coming back just to sleep at his house. He would leave early in the morning and come back late at night.

Ordering something light to eat they began to talk about random stuff. Ava hadn't been to the muggle neighborhoods that much and so James loved it when she was surprised at certain things around her. Half an hour later they left the diner and headed for a nearby park. The rain had long stopped and the warm sun was welcoming.

They sat at a bench looking at the children playing nearby. Ava put her head on James' shoulder. He let her, liking the feeling as they enjoyed the moment when suddenly their mirrors buzzed. Ava took hers out followed closely by James.

"What's going on?" James asked as soon as they apparated inside the manor. They saw everyone looking at him. "George?" he called. "George!"

Pan came in running. She was covered in bruises and wounds. She was bleeding all over. James stopped still on his feet as Ava grabbed Pan before she could fall down. He had noticed something. His mom was nowhere to be seen.

"She took them," Pan said before she lost consciousness.
