Kagome felt her face flush.

That was about the tenth time it'd happened that evening. Dabi had taken her by surprise with that kiss earlier in the afternoon. He hadn't said anything at the time let alone mention what may have sparked it. Since that moment he seemed much more at ease with himself—as if he'd come to some sort of decision that she knew nothing about.

The young woman shook her head.

No, she couldn't be thinking like that right now!

Regardless of how Dabi felt, she knew that she couldn't get her hopes up. He'd left society for a reason. He became a villain for a reason. If he had his goals then she didn't want to impede him an any way. While she didn't agree with the notion of him committing crimes she knew that it was far beyond her decision in the first place.

Dabi was his own person.

He could make that choice for himself.

He didn't need her nagging at him about what was right or wrong. Especially not after everything he'd been through.

Kagome clapped her palms to her cheeks, "Right, time for dinner!"

She made her way towards the kitchen. Ever since he moved in with her, she'd virtually thrown out every last bit of fish she had in the house. Dabi hated all kinds of fish with a passion. Even when they were children, he absolutely loathed the flavor. When she asked him before he simply said that they tasted like 'metal'. She hadn't bothered him about it since.

So when she went to the store she doubled up on the foods she knew that they would both like. He had a preference for curry as of late so she would make some more tonight.

"Dabi how much do you want?" Kagome called over her shoulder.

His response came in the form of his chest pressing into her back.

Her face flushed once more.

He was doing this on purpose, wasn't he?

The warmth of his breath ghosted across the shell of her ear. For just a second, she swore she heard him laugh.

"Everything."

In that moment, Kagome knew that she was in far too deep.
