Padme walked ahead with her hands tied behind her back and a spear pointed at her back. She looked over at the others and was grateful that her situation was slight better than the others. They were tried from there hands and feet to sticks being carried by the Ewoks. She was just impressed something that small could carry them.
She looked over at C3po and just didn't understand why they took a liking to him. He was being carried in a throne. He finally found people who could tolerate him. She figured it mainly had to do with he was the only one who could communicate with them. They were clearly very fasinated with him.
She looked ahead and was impressed with how these Ewoks lived. They builed homes and huts up in the tree and had all these wooden bridges connecting them all. She wasn't sure how she missed all these when they first got here, but surely that was how they survived.
Suddenly the Ewoks stopped her and she watched as they took Han and placed him over a fire pit that has yet to be lite. She wasn't sure what Luke was sensing, but it clearly isn't going the way he thought. Atleast she thought not.
"I have a really bad feeling about this." Han said looking over at Luke who was set down next to her still tied up.
She watched as the one Ewok walked over to C3po and started to speak his strange langue.
"What did he say?" Han shouted clearing starting to get worried.
"I'm rather embarrassed, General Solo, but it spears you are to be the main course at the banquet in my honor." C3po said translating what the Ewok told him.
Padme looked over at Luke with large eyes, but he still had the look of calmness on his face.
She watched drums started going and they started to put more logs below Han. One of the Ewoks started to walk over to him with a torch.
"Luke." She said uncertain.
"Stop. Stop" She heard someone shout and looked over to see Leia running over before being stopped by Ewoks.
Leia. Oh Leia. She was safe, which was more than she could say for the rest of them. '
"But these are my friends." She tried to reason with them, but clearly wasn't getting through to them. "3po, tell them they must be set free."
C3po tried again speaking to them in Ewokese. Clearly that didn't work cause they continued to put more logs below Han.
"Somehow I got the feeling that didn't help us very much." Han said.
"3po, tell him if they don't do as you wish, you'll become angry and use your magic."
What? Luke must had really hit his head in the fall.
"But, Master Luke, what magic? I couldn't possibly." C3po asked him.
"Just tell them." Luke said again.
C3po yet again start to talk to the Ewoks in their langue. "You see, Master Luke? They didn't believe me, just as I said they wouldn't"
The Ewok walked closer to Han with the torch in his hand and he finally started to loose. "Wait! Wait" He said blowing on the torches knowing it was doing nothing.
She looked over at Luke waiting for him to do something. He had his eyes closed and she looked over at C3po as him and the chair he was sitting in started to float up into the air. He began to freak out not understanding what was happening, but Padme knew. Luke was doing this. She looked around the Ewoks started to freak out running around trying to stop and please their chosen one, 3po. She saw they also dragged Leia back so she didn't get harmed. She felt someone touch her arm and realized the Ewoks were untying her. She looked and saw that they were untying the others as well.
She watch as 3po was finally put down and as Leia ran into Han's arms. She didn't know how he did, but Luke managed to save them all. She smiled looking over at her son.
"Thanks, 3po." Luke joking said to him.
"I never knew I had it in me." C3po said causing all of them to laugh at the naïve droid.
Vader paced around growing impatient. He started thinking maybe this was just some trick to get him away set by the Emperor. That maybe this was all a trap and he was just waiting around to be killed. He knew his son, wouldn't come and find him.
He sighed sitting down placing his face in his hands. It was then he realized what today was. Today would have been his twenty-five wedding anniversary with Padme. He shut his eyes thinking back to that perfect day.
Anakin paced around the overlook looking over Varykino lake at Naboo's Lake County. This was the only request of Padme for their wedding and he already was denying her so much with this wedding, he wasn't going to deny her another thing. He hated knowing he couldn't give her a normal wedding, one she probably dreamed about, but as she told him, "There love was all that mattered.".
He didn't understand why he was so nervous, he just got done battling Dooku and many droids on Genosis. He has never been fearful or nervous during anything he has dealt with in his past 20 years of living, but this he couldn't shake his nervous.
He has loved Padme, since he was boy and that fact that she loved him, he still couldn't believe. He didn't think he would every understand. She could have anyone. He saw the way people looked at her, yet she picked him.
He stopped when he felt her presence. He turned around and his jaw snapped open. There was no words for what he was seeing. She looked like an Angel. She walked over to him nervously, figetting with her hands, afraid to even look at him.
"I know I said I wanted a small wedding with none of the flashy stuff, but..." She shrugged biting her lip, finally looking up at him.
He looked down at her. She was wearing a long sleeved, white, lacey dress. Pieces of her hair where curled around her face as the rest was held back, in her lace covered veil. He couldn't take his eyes off of her. He looked down at his Jedi robes, wishing her got the memo, for her beauty far outshined him. None the less, he was happy she got to have some bit of normalcy in this wedding.
"I can't believe you are actually going to be mine forever. I've dreamed this, but never thought it would actually happen." Anakin said to her as her checks started to grow red.
"Are you ready?" She said grabbing his hands, even his new metal one, he so recently received. He was surprised she didn't flinch away, but held onto it with such love just as she held the other one.
He lead her to the over look, where R2, 3po, and the Pontifex of the brotherhood of Cognizanc stood to officiate the wedding. He refused to let go of her hands for the whole thing and wouldn't dare look away, for he was afraid of missing a second of her beauty.
"Don't be afraid." She whispered to him, smiling saying the very same thing he told her before she confessed her love to him.
Those three little words, managed to calm his nervous and he smiled down at her, waiting for the man to finally say the words.
"You may kiss the bride." He finally said.
Anakin didn't wait a second, he leaned forward meeting her halfway there and kissed the very lips, he has waited a life time to kiss. The lips he would be kissing for the rest of his life.
Vader opened his eyes, hating himself. It seems everyday a new memory I've have tried so hard to forget about manages to come back. He tried for about 20 years to forget about this former life, but from the moment she came back into his life. He has found more and more of Anakin Skywalker keeps trying to come out.
Padme had to walk away from the festivities, not feeling like being around people at the moment. This day, was one of the days no matter how hard to tried, she thought about Anakin. They should be celebrating their marriage, like they should have been for the last twenty-five years. Instead of celebrating, she was part of a plan to destroy him and his Death Star. She often wondered, what things would have been if Anakin didn't turn.
She sighed leaning against the railing knowing there was no point in dwelling on the past when it couldn't be changed. She just had to focus on the future. A future she could finally get to have with her kids.
She heard someone walking and looked around wondering who it was and then she saw Luke. It seems he wasn't into being festive either. She was about to talk over to him when she notice Leia slowly start to walk up to him.
"Luke, what's wrong?" She heard Leia ask, clearly not having seen Padme off in the shadows. I should leave and not ease drop into their conversation.
"Leia, do you remember your mother, your real mother?" Luke turned around asking Leia, stopping Padme dead in her tracks.
"Just alittle bit." Leia started to say, causing Padme to be confused. That's impossible, unless she truly is force sensitive like she previous thought. "My father told me she died when I was very young."
"What do you remember?" Luke asked.
"Just images, really. Feelings." Leia said shrugging clearly not understanding what Luke is trying to get at.
"Tell me." He softly asked.
"She was," Leia paused clearly thinking. "I remember her sad eyes. Sad, but beautiful. She was kind, but sad. Why are you asking me this?"
Padme felt wetness on her face and realized she was crying.
"I have no memory of my mother. I never knew her." Luke sadly said causing Padme to tear up even more. My Luke, I'm so sorry. Maybe one day I can make you understand.
"Luke, tell me, what's troubling you?" Leia asked.
Luke looked away clearly unsure of how to say this. "Vader is here. Now. On this moon."
"How do you know?"
Luke turned back and looked at Leia. "I felt his presence. He's come for me. He can feel when I'm near. That's why I have to go. As long as I stay, I'm endangering the group and our mission here. I have to face him."
Luke no. You can't. You barely survived last time.
"Why?" Leia asked not understand what he is saying and worried about he plans on doing.
"He's my father."
Padme shut her eyes. She figured Anakin told him, but Luke never said anything so she hoped he never got the chance to say anything to him.
"You father?" Leia said shocked by this revelation.
"There's more. It won't be easy for you to hear it, but you must. If I don't make it back, you're the only hope for the Alliance."
"Don't talk that way. You have power I don't understand and could never have." Leia asked growing frustrated with what he is saying.
"You're wrong, Leia. You have that power, too. In time, you'll learn to use it as I have." Luke paused. "The force is strong in my family. My father has it. I have it and my sister has it." He said looking at Leia hoping she understands.
Padme had to cover her mouth to stop from gasping. He knows. How does he know? Surely Anakin didn't tell him. He made no indication he knew about Leia. When she was pregnant, she didn't even know she had twins until the birth. There was no way Anakin knew.
Leia looked away unable to process what he has just told her.
"Yes. It's you, Leia." Luke confirmed it.
It took a while for Leia to reply, but she slowly said. "I know. Somehow I've always known."
"Then you know why I have to face him." Luke said.
"No!" Leia angerly stood up. "Luke, run away. Far away. If he can feel your presence, then leave this place." Leia slowly calmed down. "I wish I could go with you."
"No, you don't. You're always been strong." Luke said standing up.
"But why must you confront him?"
"Because there is good in him. I've felt it. He won't turn me over to the emperor. I can save him. I can turn him back to the good side. I have to try."
She remembered when she thought this as well, only for him to turn against her. Luke, please don't be foolish.
She looked up and watched as Luke hugged his sister before quickly leaving. She watched as Leia stood and she waited for her to stop him, but she just let him go. No. No Luke. Padme stood there thinking of what to do before she figured it out.
She quickly ran across the bridge and followed Luke hoping he would listen to her. She ran down to the ground area and looked around wondering where he could have went. She decided to go straight, hoping she didn't wait to long.
She walked for a few minutes before she heard. "I knew you listening. I should have guessed you would follow me and try to stop me."
She looked ahead and saw Luke step out from the trees.
"Luke, you can't go and fight Vader. You barely got away once, I don't think he will let you get away again." Padme said urgently, walking closer to him.
"I figured you of all people would understand, unless you truly have lost all faith in him." Luke said looking her in the eyes.
"It's not that I've lost faith. It's, it's just." She shuttered thinking of what to say.
Luke placed his hands on her shoulder. "I have to do this. I'm sorry, but I've already decided, mother."
"No!" She said growing hysterical for the fear of loosing her son. "I'm am your mother and as your mother my opinion about Vader should matter the most. I know him more than you do." She quickly gasped realizing what they both have just said. "Ho-how did you find out?"
"I think I've also known, since I met you, but it wasn't until after Cloud City that I started to piece the pieces together." Luke said.
"Luke, please, please you have to understand. I never meant to lie or want to get rid of you or your sister. I thought I was protecting you." She said as the tears started to run more and more down her face.
Luke quickly hugged her. "Mother, I understand. I can see and feel the pain you have experience. If everything goes as plan, hopefully you can tell me more about everything."
Oh Luke, I don't deserve this kindness. You clearly were raised well and I wish I could tell Owen and Beru a million times thank you. "Luke, I thought like you once. I thought there was good in him and he could change, but it nearly cost mine, yours's, and Leia's life. I'm begging you. I can't loose you too."
She watched as he hesitated, but before he could say anything she saw they where surrounded by Imperial Troopers. She looked down feeling for her blaster, before realizing she never got it back from the Ewoks. She looked over at Luke, seeing his lightsaber, but it was still connected to his belt.
The Troopers walked over to them, cuffing them both and taking Luke's lightsaber. She knew where they were taking them and she hated herself for not stopping her son sooner.
