Chapter 23

The Final Battle

Aliya watched as the black gates slowly started to open.

Once they were fully open Aliya felt like her heart had completely stopped. The army of orcs that stood before them seemed endless. They were outnumbered by more than a million.

Aliya could feel the eye of Sauron staring down at them. Then Aragorn turned to everyone. He looked like he was trying to stay strong. Aliya knew he knew he was not going to survive. Then Aragorn spoke two words.

"For Frodo." He said as he turned and charged at the orc army.

Aliya fearfully followed him along with everyone else.

Now there was no turning back. The battle had started.

Within the blink of an eye Aliya had been separated from everyone.

She started fighting the best she could. She could see Elrohir and Elladan out of the corner of her eye. They were fighting side by side slaughtering orcs in their path.

Aliya fought her way over to Pipp and Merry since they were getting ambushed by orcs.

If she was not going to survive this fight at least Pipp and Merry should.

She ran over to fight with them.

She quickly ducked almost getting her head cut off.

Aliya then lunged forward with her sword killing an orc.

Just as she did that an orc had managed to cut her wrist.

She winced with pain as she struggled to kill the orc.

She could feel the blood running down her wrist onto her hand.

Just then Aliya heard someone scream. She whirled around and saw an orc about to kill Eyowyn.

Aliya ran forward and killed the orc.

Before she could help Eyowyn she tripped on a dead orc and fell. She could feel her head hit something hard.

Aliya could feel the blood running down onto her face.

She could feel her eyes watering as dirt entered them.

She quickly stood up and looked around. Her vision was blurry.

She rubbed her eyes and her vision came back.

Suddenly everyone heard a loud blast as the volcano erupted.

Everyone stopped, even the orcs, and watched as Sauron's tower exploded.

Frodo had done it. He destroyed the ring.

Everyone was cheering but that quickly came to a stop and the ground started to crack and collapse.

Everyone quickly ran away from Mordor. Aliya followed the group of remaining warriors to Gondor.

Once they reached Gondor everyone called up their horses and went their separate ways. Aliya assumed they were going home to their families.

Just then Aliya felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned and saw Frodo, Sam, Pipp and Merry. Pipp was holding the reigns of two ponies and Merry was holding onto one ponie.

Aliya hugged Frodo and Sam.

"I knew you could do it Frodo. We all are so proud of you. Both of you." Aliya said as she beamed at them

"Would you like to ride with us to the Shire? Gandalf wanted the fellowship, well the remaining members anyway, to meet up there." Merry asked.

"Sure. If Gandalf said he wanted us to then I don't really have a choice do I?" Aliya said playfully.

"Yeah I guess you don't do you." Pipp said as he and Merry mounted a pony.

"Do you want to ride with anyone?" Sam asked.

"No, I think I'll be fine." Aliya said as she mounted a pony.

Once Sam and Frodo mounted their pony they started off.

As they rode towards the Shire Aliya worried about who made it out of the battle alive and who didn't.

They all traveled without stopping until they reached the shire.
