"You sure you are going to be okay?" you ask for the millionth time that morning.
"Yes Clarke, we'll be fine."
"Just remember..." you start, but before you can finish, she cuts in.
"You are going for one month. Only Lincoln knows where you two are going, and if you weren't already, you would come back pregnant," Octavia says.
"Correct," you say before clarifying. "Except for the last part. Lexa has been training. She knows how to prevent me from getting pregnant again. Although, we may want to again. Who knows?"
Just as you finish, the clan leaders enter the throne room, awaiting the summit that Lexa called. They take their seats and Lexa walks in, causing them all to stand. Lexa motions when she joins you at the front, and they all sit.
"Clarke and I will be leaving for a month. No Commander business is to be brought to me. Anything that would normally be brought to me can be brought to Octavia kom Skaikru, Roan kom Azgeda and Indra kom Trikru. They will act in my absence, and if anything, they will bring the most urgent of matters to me. That is all. Leave us."
They all file out of the throne room on Lexa's command, leaving you alone with her.
"You know Heda, I always wanted to try out your throne."
"For what?" Lexa asks, feigning innocence.
"Oh, you know what Commander," you say, before straddling her. "Let the honeymoon begin."
After fully utilising the throne, Lexa convinces you to go see Titus. You go together and once you enter the room where Titus is imprisoned, you feel Lexa grip your hand strongly, depending on you to keep her steady.
"Titus," Lexa growls.
"Heda."
"Do you have anything to say for yourself?" she asks. "And there better not be a single word against Clarke out of your mouth."
Titus shakes his head, unable to meet Lexa's eyes.
"Well, you will be imprisoned for the next six months, then, I will decide what to do with you. For now, you are to teach the natblidas alongside Gaia. She has specific instructions, namely never let you talk about anything to do with compassion and never let you out of this room. If you disobey her, or do not teach her everything you know, you will pay the consequences, Understood?"
Titus stays silent before Lexa yells at him.
"Is that understood Titus?!"
You take your hand and rub her back soothingly, calming her ever so slightly.
"Sha Heda," Titus almost whispers.
Lexa leaves without another word to him, and you go after her. When you catch up to her, she is already at the stables, getting the horses ready for the trip to Azgeda.
"Hey Lexa," you say. No response.
"Hey. Come on. You are okay. Titus did not get you. He's locked up; there is no need be upset."
"Yes there is Clarke. Do you not understand? He could have killed you!" Lexa screamed. "You cannot be taken away from me. You just can't," she says, starting to cry.
"Hey babe, it's okay. Shh, I'm safe and I'm right here."
"Clarke, I've taken people's lives with no remorse. Is this how their loved ones felt? I can't bear it knowing you could have died. And now I realise that this is how I made hundreds of people feel."
"Lexa, listen to me. I've done awful things too. Let me ask you a question though, how many less people have you killed in the second time around."
"It went from eight hundred over four years to two hundred over four years."
"Exactly. Those six hundred you spared this time is proof that you are getting better. You are on the right path, and so am I. We have been given another chance and you are using it to be better Lex. 'Do better than you did yesterday'. That is the way you are living your life, and it is the best way to live your life. You are not a bad person Lexa, and you prove it every single day. So get out of your own head and let's go on our honeymoon."
"Sha Clarke. I love you."
"I love you too," you say as she wraps you in her arms, her tears falling freely.
