I slowly open my eyes, only to see darkness as far as the eye can see. I slowly regain my senses and stands up. There was truly nothing, just a giant void.
"Hahaha, you haven't changed at all in these five decades," said the same female voice from before.
"I wish I could say the same for you, but... I turned you into a pale witch," I said as I turn around and face the Queen on the Grimm herself.
She was wearing her long, black robe with red designs that resemble eyes. The same dress when we first met each other so long ago. Her hair was still white, formed into a bun with six offshoots from which ornaments are suspended.
Barbed wires started to crawl out of my wrist again, and I prepared myself for the fight that would come.
"Fighting till the end, are we?" she said, tauntingly.
"Let's just say, I wanted to kill you since day one," I said to her, holding my barbed wire as a whip.
"Good luck getting to me them," she said as she summoned thousands of Grimms between us.
"So be it," I said as I started to move forward.
All kinds of Grimms started to attack me. Beowulf's, Ursas Minors and Mayors, Beringels, Boardatusk, Creeps, Death Stalkers, Griffons, Goliaths, KingTaijitus, Lancers, Nevermores, and Dragons. Entire armies of each one of them and all are aimed at me. The Beowulfs were the first ones to approach me, and they were all met with the wires impaling in their skulls. One by one, they fell to the ground and turns into dust.
The Grimms were dying by the hundreds, by my wires, telekinesis, and my burning touch. The Dragons were the hardest to kill, they spewed black fire on me, but I kept going on my battle every one of them is turned to dust. The fight went on for what seemed like an eternity, but I can out victorious on this fight. But I was very tired to fight Salem, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to give up.
"My, my, you've trained a lot since we've last met. This 'is' going to be fun," she said as she summoned a double scythe, made out of Grimm's bones.
"I didn't expect you to be a scythe fighter, but it won't matter in the end. One of us is going to die here and now," I said, holding the wires tightly in my hand.
"For once, I agree," she said as she took a battle stance.
We both stood there for a moment, waiting for each other to move first, and I was the first one to make it. I used my barbed wires to strike her, only for her to dodge it, but the impact caused a giant cloud of Grimm dust to appear. I used this opportunity to attack her again but was only met with her scythe. She then pulled her scythe back with so much force, that she lifted me in the air and slammed me down. The impact was so hard that it created a crater, along with another giant cloud of Grimm dust.
"I was expecting more of a fight from you, but I guess you have to slow down when you come to a certain age," she said tauntingly.
"Says the one who's a few MILLENIAS old," I said as I slowly stand up again.
It seems that I touched a nerve with that one as she rushed towards me, ready to strike me with her scythe. I quickly tried to block her attack with my barbed wires, but she cut through it, impaling me at my stomach and sliced me horizontally. I took a few steps back, so I could try to heal that massive cut.
"Heh, I forgot that you're already dead. Maybe I should fix that," she said as she started to approach me again.
I look up to face her and prepared myself for her next attack. I look around and saw that all the dust still in the air. I used my telekinesis to create spikes from the dust and aimed them towards her, but she blocked each spike that I shot at her. After ten minutes of trying to stay as far as I could from Salem, she managed to grab a hold of me.
"I have to admit, you're a hard one to catch. But it will end now," she said as she puts her hand where my heart is and black aura started to flow into it.
All of a sudden, I felt something. Something I haven't felt since... it all started. My heart. It was beating again. But it wasn't warm and soothing. It was cold and painful, and I knew why. My blood was full of rusted iron from swords and bullets alike and all kind of medication and poison that people tried to inject over time.
I started struggling to breathe, as Salem let go of me as she went to grab her scythe. I couldn't breathe, I haven't been able to since my curse, but now that I'm alive again... it hurts so much. While I was still in my state of panic and trying to calm down, Salem got her scythe again and walked up behind me.
"And this is how your story will end, (F/n) (L/n)," she said, with venom in her voice.
She raises he scythe high above her and just as she's about to impale me, something unexpected happened. She got struck by lightning, sending her and the scythe away. She looks back at me, and what she saw left her speechless.
I was slowly standing up again, but there was something different about me. Something I haven't used since I died. My semblance. I was still struggling to keep myself alive and breathing, I'm not giving up yet.
"You're right, my story will end soon. But not here. If I'm going down, I'll be dragging you with me to Hell!" I said as sparks of static electricity flew off of my body.
I quickly run towards Salem and knocked her into a portal that was behind her, and we both fell in. Once we reached the other side, Salem landed with a hard thud to the ground, and the threw me against the nearest building. The impact hurt so much, but I was already in pain, to begin with. Quickly pulled myself together, until I noticed something... We're in Silent Hill. Sirens could be heard in the distance as everything became dark, to the point that we can's see.
I focused back on the battle at hand because of every second count for me now. I heard her running towards me as fast as she could, prepared to kill me. I quickly shot out barbed wires towards her again, but this was a big mistake. Instead of ignoring it as I did in the past, I could feel it bursting out of my wrists and traveling outwards, but I kept going on. Salem quickly grabbed both wires with one hand.
"Really, (F/n)? This trick of yours is getting old," she said tauntingly.
"Then you might like what comes next!" I said as with a grin on my face.
I quickly generated more static electricity, and let it flow down the barbed wires, creating a Jacob's Ladder. The electric shook took her by surprise and sent her flying against a building behind her. I quickly used my wires to wrap around her and squeezed tightly, making sure that she won't go anywhere anymore. I lifted her off the ground as more wires started to grow from my back. I'm suffering so much pain, but I'll make sure that she won't be alive anymore. Even if it's the last thing I'll do.
"Salem, I may be dying now. But I'll make, that you won't be breathing either. You know what? I'll make sure that I'll drag you to Hell personally, so I'll watch you burn by the Devil himself as I did so long ago in the fires of the fucking church here!" I said, venom and rage in my voice.
Just as I finished that sentence, let out more electricity through the cables and started to electrocute her. The moment the electricity reached her, she started to scream in pain. About thirty seconds later, flames started to form around her as she screamed even harder and struggles to get free from my grip.
I then created one final barbed wire and penetrated her heart multiple times, until she stopped breathing. Once she's dead, I threw her body hard as I could into a building. The impact was so strong, the building collapsed on her corpse.
The moment the building crumbled, I fell to the ground. I was reaching my limits. I started coughing so hard, pure black blood started to come out of my mouth, and I feel that my heart had stopped working again.
"I'm... not going to die out here... I'll die... where everything started," I said as I slowly started to crawl mine towards the church.
Every second that passes, my vision started to get blurry and dark. As I reached the church, I didn't even have the strength to move anymore, my sense of touch stopped working, or to see anything. Instead, I used my barbed wires from before, to pull me towards a giant pile of ash that was at the center. Once I reached the middle of the room, I waited till I've taken my last breath, but while I waited... I started to remember all the good memories I had.
The moment I started to create my family, the heartwarming moments I had with them, the moment Alessa joined my family, the moment Ozpin and the two groups came to my home, my first day at Beacon, the moment I first met Velvet, the dance party everyone went, the moment Velvet confessed her love, everything. The moment I probably loved the most was where everyone was together, like one big family.
"I'm sorry... my shy rabbit... I fear... that I can't keep... my promise... Enjoy your life..." I said as I left out my final breath, and a giant burst of electricity escaped my body as the darkness and fog disappeared from Silent Hill.
-Two days later at Beacon-
"(F/n)! (F/n)! Where are you!?" Velvet and three teams were looking around Beacon.
All the students have just returned, seeing all the White Fang corpses and Grimm dust in front of the academy.
"Has anyone seen (F/n), or any of his family?" asked Ozpin to the three groups.
"No, he's nowhere to be found," said Velvet.
"We've checked his dorm, but he wasn't there," said Team RWBY.
"We've checked the tower, but we only found his book," said Team JNPR.
"And we've checked the cliffside near Emerald Forest," said Team CFVY.
"Where on Remnant could he be?" asked Glynda.
"I can answer that," said a female voice behind them.
"AHHH!" everyone screamed in surprise, except Ozpin.
"Alessa? What's wrong?" asked Ozpin, noticing the sad expression on (F/n) sister's face.
She stayed silent for a moment as tears started to form on her eyes.
"(F-f/n)... gone," she finally managed to say.
Everyone's eyes went wide as sadness slowly started to come to them.
"Y-you mean... he's... dead?" asked Velvet, who's on the verge of tears as well.
Alessa slowly nodded. Now, everyone's crying. Not only did they lost a good friend, for Velvet, but she also lost a lover.
"Velvet? He asked me to give you this in case he wouldn't make it," said Alessa as she handed a letter to her, and another one to Ozpin.
Velvet opened her letter and started to read it out loud.
Greetings everyone,
If you're reading this... then I fear that I'm dead to the point that I'm not among the living anymore. I'm sorry that I left everyone like this, but it was the only way. I know that I said this to everyone before, but I want to thank you. I want to thank everyone for accepting the time who I was. A dead monster from the darkness who helped those in the light. Thank you for being my friends, my family, my loved ones. I do have two things I regret the most.
One is not being able to keep my promise to you, Velvet. I wished there was another way for me, but this was the only way, and two... is not being able to spend the rest of my life with you. Or all of you for that matter. All of you were like a second family I wished to protect, but now... all I wish for you guys is to move on with your life. Go and reach your dreams of being Hunters. I may have killed some of the most wanted criminals, but the world needs their protectors. So go and be those Hunters all of you all dreamed to be.
And Velvet, I want to thank you for the most. You've shown me something I thought I would never feel. Love. These last couple of months we've spent together were the best times of my entire life. But they say if you love something, you have to let it go. I wish for you to move on as well. I know that there's a lot of fish in the sea, and I know that they'll treat you as good as me or even better. So enjoy your life, just as much as I enjoyed mine.
Sincerely, (F/n) (L/n), The Broken, and Silent Gem.
By now, everyone was crying openly, and so was Alessa. They stayed like that for an hour at least, moaning their loss of a good friend, and a lover.
"I-I-I'm sorry, but my family a-and I will be going b-back to Silent Hill soon. We're going to make a memorial there. The b-book belongs there as well and w-we're going to make s-sure that it won't fall in the hands of criminals," said Alessa.
"That's understandable, Alessa," said Pyrrha, handing the book to her.
"Alessa, your brother was a special student here, and we're going to make sure that he won't be forgotten," said Ozpin.
"T-thank you, Ozpin. (F/n) would appreciate that. Everyone, it was great being here with everyone. And thank you for taking good care of (F/n)," she said as she went around and gave everyone a hug.
"It was an honor having you guys here. May you and your family enjoy your life," said Ozpin.
Everyone waved to her as she disappeared.
'(F/n)... thank you for the wonderful time we had together. I'll never forget you,' Velvet though as she pulled out a photograph, a photograph where both (F/n) and Velvet were together on their first date.
