AN: Sorry this has taken a while, my holiday from work ended up getting cut short due to covid :( and I have spent the last few weeks prepping to move due to the madness. I have moved in with a friend and I have set days off work now so that I can watch her little one while she works so am no longer doing 10 day stints at work so should have time to write.

Ginny Weasley could not believe the turn that her life had taken recently, first Harry was nreglecting her and hiding things from her, then the newspapers and the snooty purebloods were dragging her name through the mud and then Harry had dumped her. To make matters worse her dad had not taken her side in everything that had happened, only her mum and Ron were on her side, everyone else was worrying about how her actions would affect the rest of them. Even her great aunt had gotten in on the worrying, but she was being proactive with it with her father and elder brother's blessing. She and Ron had moved in with Muriel and were being taught what was expected of them as members of the wizarding world and two pureblood families.

Muriel had also insisted that she complete some form of further education, neither she nor Ron had bothered with education once they left Hogwarts, helping out in Fred and George's shop every now and then. She had at least sat for her NEWTs, but she hadn't felt like she would need more education than that, she wanted to play quiddich and it wasn't as if Harry would need her to have an education if she was unable to play anymore, he had enough money to support them both. Although she didn't really want to go into a training program she had heard Muriel and Bill discussing his options with Ron and had decided before they even got to her that she had to make a decision.

She was enrolled in Healer training now, and although it was interesting it wasn't what she hoped for from life, she wanted to be one of those society wives seen on her husband's arm, but also famous in her own right for a quiddich career. At least Muriel hadn't forbid her for trying for her quiddich career like she had Ron she was allowed to try out for the Harpies. Ron was only allowed to try and get scouted for a team if he was at Hogwarts working on studying for his NEWTs and working towards another career path as well. Ginny knew her brother there was no way he was going back to Hogwarts to join Dennis Creevey as a classmate so he could kiss his dreams of being a quiddich star goodbye.

The tryouts for the Harpies were coming up soon and she wanted to get as much practice in as she could however Muriel's lessons and her healer training seemed to be taking up the majority of her time. She couldn't believe that the lessons were even taking up dinner time as well, she didn't need to know which fork or spoon to use for each meal, no-one bothered with that stuff anymore surely or her mum would have taught her growing up. She had never seen anyone eat that way at the Gryffindor table at least.

Ginny did wonder about why she was being forced to attend these lessons by Muriel, her mum taught her manners growing up, but Muriel seemed to think that her teachings were insufficient and seemed to be trying to train her into a stuffy pureblood that the Weasley family were treated like dirt by. It seemed to her that Muriel was just trying to turn her into one of those purebloods, perhaps a bit like Harry had started to become like them when he took up his Lordship.

It was a crazy idea, especially as Muriel had flat out stated that Ginny was not to even attempt to try and get into a relationship with anyone, but Ginny was certain Muriel was maybe actually trying to help her win Harry back. Harry had done a complete turnaround in his mannerisms becoming one of those purebloods that seemed to be stuck back in the past when he started taking lessons from one of the Lords, she supposed that could also come be in part due to his newfound interest in history. Maybe Muriel was trying to impress upon her the mannerisms that Harry was now adopting in order to make her attractive to him again. She knew that he had been angry at her after the ball and her lack of manners in his opinion, although she still thought it was him and Hermione that had been the rude ones that evening excluding her.

That he hadn't really done anything to help her when the papers had slandered her and her mum galled her after all her family had done for him over the years. He did provide that statement, effectively breaking up with her and asking people to leave the situation alone allowing her father to correct her behaviour. It was a bit of a smack in the face to be honest, she hadn't expected it when he had seen it, she had thought that their breakup would only be temporary while Harry figured out his mistakes and came back to her begging him to take her back.

She hadn't seen him since or received an owl from him, and neither had Ron, she couldn't believe that he was just cutting them out of his life like that. At least he hadn't said that he was welcoming offers in his statement, although she had heard some of the gossip as she had walked the halls of St Mungos earlier on her first day of training he was certainly getting sent formal letters from many girls parents. Ginny did wonder if he was rejecting the offers as he was just waiting for her to change like he had. Perhaps he was hoping that she would learn Muriel's lessons and be able to be at his side at all the society parties once more.

Deciding that must be what he was hoping for she threw herself into her studies with Muriel gaining an approving eye from her Great Aunt. She was certainly putting in more effort than Ron was, he wasn't paying any attention to what Muriel was saying at all and had refused to make a proper decision about his education or future. She had heard Muriel talking to Bill and Charlie earlier and if he didn't make a decision soon they were going to pick a magical trade for him.

She excused herself after dinner for her room, claiming to want to start reading through the thick tomes she had been given when she had attended her induction and first lesson earlier that day. Instead she pulled out some parchment and a quill to write Harry a quick note. She wrote the letter quickly, tying it to Pigwidgeon when he appeared and watched until the letter and the owl were out of sight.

Harry,

I've worked it all out, you broke up with me so that we could both learn to be better partners to each other. I am learning all that Great Aunt Muriel is teaching me so that I can be the best Lady Potter-Black that I can be. I started healer training today and I am trying out for the Harpies at the weekend so I am very busy. Us taking a break just now while pursue our education is for the best just now, but you should inform the papers that it is just a break we are on at the moment.

Always yours,

Ginny
