The sacrifice was going to happen tonight. The worry and thought of it all was wearing Sabrina down. The reality of what it would mean for her life in Mystic Falls was weighing in.

"Where's Maddox? He should be back by now." Klaus' voice asked as he walked into the apartment.

"I don't know." Katherine replied steadily as she sat at the small table with Sabrina who was still in deep thought.

The cries of a women caught Sabrina out of her daze. Looking up she saw Klaus sat down with a laptop open. The video was of Jules chained up and lying on the floor of a cellar.

"What are you doing? Where's Elena?" Katherine questioned him in a bored tone.

"I sent her off with Greta." Sabrina still hadn't said a word as she watched Jules beginning her transformation in a werewolf.

"It's almost time," Klaus beamed.

The sound of the door swinging open caused eyes to turn. Sabrina looked up to see Damon standing behind Klaus.

Klaus smile fell. "I wasn't aware you'd been invited in."

"I've come here to tell you that you have to postpone the ritual."

Didn't we already have this conversation?"

Yeah, but that was before I rescued your werewolf and vampire and killed your witch." Klaus stood up quickly to face him.

"Excuse me?" he hissed.

"And you can kill me for it. I don't care. It was all me." Sabrina's uneasy feeling was back and stronger than ever.

"Katerina take Sabrina with you and give us a moment."

Katherine lazily got up from her seat and walked to Sabrina. Nudging her, she didn't move. She pulled on her arm, still no movement. The doppelganger sighed, giving up as she walked away.

"Always have a backup. Backup werewolf. Backup witch"

"Backup vampire."

"I've got that covered, too."

"Klaus made me call Jenna to lure her out. There was nothing that I could do. I didn't have a choice."

"I've got that covered, too." A smug Klaus looked down on an unconscious Damon who lay on the floor.

"Jenna. You got Katherine to call Jenna." It wasn't a question. It was a realisation mixed with all the emotion she'd bottled in. Klaus looked at her with intrigue as she got up and walked towards him with a look is sadness, disbelief and hatred.

"The timings of your visions are a little bit of an inconvenience, love."

Without thinking and acting out of instinct she whipped her hand across his face, slapping him as hard as she could.

His head only slightly turned but it didn't show any signs of pain. Before she had time to register the stinging pain on her own hand his hands grabbed her throat.

Sabrina's grunts of pain caused Katherine to come rushing in. Sabrina fought back trying to pull his hands free from her neck but nothing she did caused him to loosen his grip. She closed her eyes as they felt like they were going to pop out of the sockets.

"I can feel it. It's happening."

Her eyes shot open and a gasp game through her sounds of pain. Klaus dropped her and she quickly fell to the floor in a coughing fit.

"And that is the reason why you're here," she heard him say as Katherine brought over a glass of water, kneeling down beside her.

"Tell me what you saw?" she was still in a coughing fit.

"Give her a moment Klaus. She's human remember."

The coughing stopped but the heavy breathing remained. Moving the glass away, Katherine helped her on her feet.

"Whenever you're ready." Klaus was impatient.

"You can't use Jenna." Her voice breaking and unsteady as Katherine held her up.

"I'll do what I want, Love."

"Then use me." She could feel Katherine go ridged beside her.

"Tell me what you saw."

"You," She began in a gravelly voice. "Your vampire features but." She contemplated telling him.

"Don't think because my brother has an interest in you I won't kill you," he threatened.

"Your eyes, they were yellow like...a werewolf" She finished.

He was going to break this curse and Sabrina has just confirmed it. Wasting no time, he headed for the door paying no attention to the girl he just suffocated.

"Wait!" Sabrina took a step and moved from Katherine only to stumble before being held back up by her. "The vampire in your sacrifice. Please anyone but Jenna."

"It's a bit too late now."

"Then use me," she pleaded.

"And deal with Elijah. I don't think so." He told her as he walked closer. "Besides who knows when else you'll come in useful." Moving a piece of hair behind her ear she followed his movements while breathing heavily as he walked out the apartment.

Once he was gone Sabrina attempted to move from Katherine. She was still wobbly and light-headed. Katherine watched as she made her way to the door.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"I'm guessing its Maddox was the one who was going to do the ritual but Damon killed him, meaning I'm free to leave." She tested the theory by opening the door and taking an unsteady step out the threshold.

"Sabrina you can't do anything to stop this. You can't even walk straight right now."

"I just need some air," she said both feet out of the apartment. "If I don't try I don't think I can live with myself."

A/N: I've said it before and I'll say it again, season 2 Klaus was not nice… in other news I got a little teary eyed when writing the next chapter.
