Chapter 22: Hear Some Evil, See Some Evil
In the Xiaolin Temple...
Omi, Raimundo, Kimiko, Clay and Alice stood in front a pond that had lily pads floating and small fishes swimming in it.
"Today's exercise requires one to chose complementary Shen Gong Wu and work in unison to fight a common foe."Master Fung instructed. "I trust you are ready to demonstrate great focus."
Master Fung notice the five warriors were not focusing which caused his eye to twitch a little.
Raimundo was listening to his MP3 player, Kimiko was brushing her hair, Clay was creating a wooden model of a cow, Alice was reading her brother's diary and Omi was staring at a bee.
"On the count of 3."Master Fung stated.
A dummy dangled down from a tree, where Dojo was holding it and was fast asleep.
"3!"Master Fung replied.
"Ruby of Ramses!"Clay chanted.
"Sword of the Storm!"Raimundo chanted.
"Thorn of Thunderbolt!"Kimiko chanted.
"Teapot Cannon!"Alice chanted.
"Wushu Helmet!"Omi chanted.
Raimundo sent a small tornado toward Clay, who was busy using the Ruby of Ramses.
Clay ends up picking up Omi, Raimundo, Kimiko and Alice.
Alice made the Teapot Cannon spill around a few bushes and a tree which end up turning into dust.
The Thorn of Thunderbolt sends electricity hit the tornado before it hit the Wushu Helmet.
Omi lands on Raimundo, Kimiko and Alice causing all of them to land on Clay.
A flash of lightening from the tornado sent Dojo falling into the water along with the five monks.
"Your choices were far from complemental."Master Fung responded. "The dummy remains in tact."
"Yes, yes, I remain in tact!"Dojo admitted and realised what Master Fung said. "What?"
Omi, Raimundo, Kimiko, Clay and Alice slowly went out of the small pond.
"Apprentices, you are too easily distracted."Master Fung commented. "Raimundo, fidgeting with your 3PM player. Kimiko, doing your hair. Clay, playing with your little cow. Alice, reading your brother's personal secrets. And Omi, you with your bumble-bee. You must not let your mind wander."
Master Fung took the small bee and placed it where the flowers bloomed.
"But my mind was made to wonder!"Omi protested. "How else can I ponder the great mysteries of the universe? Like how can bees fly when their wings are to small to lift their bodies?"
"I said wander, not wonder."Master Fung replied.
A blush crept up on Omi's face before smiling happily at the buzzing bee causing Master Fung to sigh.
The five monks rode on Dojo to find the next Shen Gong Wu.
Alice wore a purple shirt, blue pants with a brown belt and grey flats. Her pink hair was styled in two braided ponytails.
"I got that itch!"Dojo stated. "We must be near that Shen Gong Wu! Or poison oak!"
"I'm allergic to poison oak."Alice said with a frown.
Omi began scratching Dojo's scales.
"Lower, lower, lower!"Dojo begged.
"Sorry, Dojo."Omi apologised. "I am forbidden where to scratch. After all, I am an Apprentice."
The group arrive at an island and went off Dojo's back.
When Dojo shrunk into his smaller size, he began to use a stick to scratch his back.
"Come on, dude!"Raimundo reminded impatiently. "Where's the Wu?"
"The Wu as you call it, is the Mind Reader Conch."Dojo explained. "By holding it beside your ear, you can hear the thoughts of others."
"In Clay's case, I guess you can only hear the ocean."Raimundo joked.
Clay became angry causing steam to come out from his ears.
"It's that a way!"Dojo said and pointed at the direction ahead.
Omi, Clay, Raimundo, Kimiko and Alice walked forward and saw the island was filled with so many sea conches.
Alice glanced at Dojo, who relaxed next to a small umbrella.
"How will we find the real Mind Reader Conch?"Alice instructed.
"Take your time."Dojo instructed and placed on his sunglasses. "The lady dragons love a guy with a tan."
Alice rolled her eyes as she and the other monks split up to search for the Shen Gong Wu.
The pink haired girl picked up a golden conch shell with a black pattern on it.
"Where does Allie keep her blueberry kakigoori?"Dojo thought. "We can't have eat all the shaved ice."
Alice blinked before simply putting the conch down and check the other conches.
"You are over the line my friend!"Omi argued and pointed at Raimundo. "Your garbage talking about my haircut is most unappreciated!"
"Never the less little pal, you might wanna put on a hat."Clay suggested. "I think the sun has been baking your potater too long."
Raimundo picked up the Mind Reader Conch and placed it next to his ear.
"That Raimundo thinks his all this!"Omi thought.
"It's all that, Omi."Raimundo corrected.
"What's all what?"Kimiko asked as she walked forward.
"It's not all what it's all that."Raimundo replied and placed the black conch down. "Of all people, you should know that."
"You folks look live you've been hit by a family mule."Clay complemented.
Clay picked up the Mind Reader Conch before looking at Kimiko and Alice, who were busy looking at the silver coloured conches.
"Wonder if boys are born without brains?"Kimiko thought.
"Hopefully they won't find my special shaved ice in the mini fridge of my room."Alice thought.
"If I was born without a brain, little lady, how come I figured out this is the Mind Reader Conch."Clay remarked and looked at Alice. "And eating shaved ice secretly will cause you a long term brain freeze, Allie."
"Creepy."Alice commented with her arms folded.
Clay handed Kimiko the Mind Reader Conch.
"Kimiko has the Mind Reader Conch."Jack thought smugly. "It will be easier to take it from her. No upper body strength."
"We have unwanted company!"Kimiko announced and glared at Jack. "And I'll show you real upper body strength!"
Omi, Clay, Raimundo, Kimiko and Alice stood in fighting positions as Jack was coming with Wuya and...a little girl?
"Come on, Jack!"Megan begged. "You promised you let me drive!"
"I lied."Jack answered with a smirk. "I'm a evil boy genius, remember?"
"A promise is a promise!"Megan reminded.
Megan covers Jack's eyes causing the evil boy genius to struggle where to fly.
"I need reinforcements!"Jack admitted. "Jack-Bots, attack!"
A swarm of Jack Bots appear at the beach and are ready to assault the five monks.
"DRAGON X KUMEI FORMATION!"Clay, Kimiko, Omi, Alice and Raimundo yelled out.
The five monks get into position as each fight fiercely and furiously at the Jack Bots, using their Wu as well.
"Teapot Cannon!"Alice chanted.
Alice made the Teapot Cannon to melt away the Jack-Bots that were coming towards her and her companions.
"Ruby of Ramses!"Clay chanted.
Clay used the Ruby of Ramses to pick up the Mind Reader Conch.
"Thorn of Thunderbolt!"Kimiko chanted.
The Thorn of Thunderbolt accidentally hit the Mind Reader Conch and the Wu landed on a Jack-Bot's claws.
"Nice teamwork...not!"Raimundo scowled.
"Pedrosa, don't-"Alice started.
"Sword of the Storm!"Raimundo chanted.
A gust from the Sword of the Storm released the Mind Reader Conch from the Jack-Bot's claws.
The Mind Reader Conch headed towards Omi.
"Wushu Helmet!"Omi chanted.
The Wushu Helmet activated, but the Mind Reader Conch hits Omi causing the monks to stop their formation.
The Sword of the Storm began creating a very big wind which caused the monks and everyone else to be blinded by the sand.
Then Dojo grew into his lager form and saves the five monks from impending doom.
"Not bad for a 1500 year old dragon."Dojo remarked and held up the Mind Reader Conch. "Do I hear a thank you for my brilliant valued rescue?"
"Grazie, Dojo."Alice answered with a grateful smile.
Omi, Kimiko, Raimundo and Clay let out grumpy grunts.
"That's more like it."Dojo answered.
Dojo used the Mind Reader Conch to hear the monks thoughts.
"Ugh!"Omi groaned. "Enough out of you!"
"Shut up!"Kimiko scowled.
"Stupid dragon!"Raimundo insulted.
"Put a dead skunk on it!"Clay retorted.
"Hey!"Dojo complained. "I heard that!"
"Sorry, Dojo!"Omi, Kimiko, Raimundo and Clay apologised together.
Back at the Xiaolin Temple...
Master Fung congratulated the Dragons for finding the Shen Gong Wu.
However he still believed the young monks were not mature enough to use it.
"Used wisely, the Conch can prove a most valuable tool."Master Fung explained. "But until you learn to focus, it is best that I lock it away in the Temple Vault."
"We are very sorry Master Fung."Omi apologised. "In the future, we will do our best to rise above out petty differences."
Clay, Raimundo, Kimiko and Alice agreed with Omi.
"I'm with the little fella."Clay said.
"Me two."Raimundo agreed.
"I'm with Omi too."Kimiko added.
"Same with me."Alice replied.
The five monks went their separate ways causing Master Fung to sigh.
"Yes, togetherness..."Master Fung said quietly.
Later that Night...
Alice was looking at a photo album while a small candle holder was next to her.
The photos in the album showed Alice as a little girl spending time with a man, a woman and a teenage girl.
"If you leap from that table again, Alice, I'll expire."A woman's voice warned."You're 2 times too reckless, my girl."
"Yes, mummy."Alice answered quietly.
Alice places the photo album in her luggage before putting off the candle flame and going to sleep.
The Next Morning...
Alice headed to the obstacle course, only to find Omi, Raimindo, Kimiko and Clay crying while chopping onions together.
The Dragon of Ice looked at Dojo, who stood next to a bucket of chopped onions.
"What's going on, Dojo?"Alice asked.
"You won't believe this, pinkie, but your fellow monks are cooking and cutting some food for themselves."Dojo remarked in amusement. "Which leaves you out of the kitchen for today."
Alice blinked. "Seriously?"
Suddenly Dojo started shaking and then stopped.
"My Dojo senses are tingling!"Dojo warned. "I'm feeling a strange rumbling!"
"Yeah."Raimundo agreed. "Me too."
Suddenly a crack on the floor began to split the ground open which lead straight to the Vault.
"We must investigate!"Omi declared. "I'll lead the way!"
"Why?"Raimundo demanded with a glare. "Because you can't think anyone can handle it?"
"No!"Omi snapped. "It is only who I am doubting!"
"Omi! That's just about low down as a snake's belly button."Clay insulted.
"Snakes don't have belly buttons!"Kimiko growled.
"Guys, quit fighting!"Alice retorted. "Someone is stealing our Shen Gong Wu!"
The five monks and Dojo rushed to the Vault, just in time to see Jack holding a bag with all their Shen Gong Wu.
"Jack Spicer!"Omi shouted.
"That was my old name!"Jack answered. "From now on, I go by 'Jack Spicer, Dark Prince of the Universe!'"
The monks moved out of the way as Jack escaped in his mole tunneling machine.
"We are most lucky that Master Fung doesn't believe in corporal punishment."Omi admitted.
Omi, Raimundo, Kimiko, Clay and Alice sat in the temple gardens as Master Fung talked to them.
"Your infighting cost us dearly."Master Fung stated. "But if you open your eyes, it can also bring enlightenment. By pointing out each other's short comings, you help each other to improve and grow individually as a team."
"So your saying we should thank each other for the insults?"Clay said.
Omi smiled at Raimundo.
"Thank you for insulting me, Raimundo."Omi remarked. "I am most appreciative."
"Oh no, thank you for humiliating me."Raimundo answered.
Clay looked at Kimiko.
"Hey, I reckon I owe you a big thank you for making fun on how I talk."Clay complemented.
"It was a pleasure."Kimiko assured. "And thank you for pointing out my anger claws."
"And I am thankful we get along so well together."Alice chuckled.
Raimundo, Omi, Clay, Kimiko and Alice grinned and hugged each other.
"Now go, young warriors."Master Fung ordered. "And fight together using what you've learned using the Conch against your enemies."
The Xiaolin Dragons infiltrate Jack's headquarters in an attempt to retrieve the bag of Shen Gong Wu that Jack had stolen.
But then a rolling sound was heard causing Raimundo, Kimiko, Omi, Alice and Clay to stand in fighting positions.
The rolling sound revealed to be Megan moving the ball she was trapped in.
"Hi, I'm Megan."Megan greeted.
"Hey that's something you don't see everyday."Raimundo commented. "A little girl in a hamster ball."
"Are you looking for Jack Spicer and the ugly old hag?"Megan asked.
Clay, Raimundo, Kimiko, Omi, Alice and Dojo nodded at Megan.
"My stupid cousin Jack thinks he locked me inside that ball."Megan giggled she went out of the hamster ball. "But I found the door."
"Jack's cousin, we are not only looking for Jack, we are also looking for-"Omi started.
"All the cool stuff he stole?"Megan suggested. "I'll tell you where it is, if I can play with your dragon."
This caused Dojo to become nervous as Kimiko grabbed and handed him to Megan.
"His yours."Kimiko said.
"What?!"Dojo shouted in shock. "Don't I have a say?!"
"NO!"Clay, Raimundo, Kimiko, Omi and Alice answered in unison.
The five monks headed down stairs and found the bag of Shen Gong Wu in Jack's lab.
"Do you know what I am thinking?"Omi asked.
"They might not!"Jack spoke up and held up the Mind Reader Conch. "But I do. You were thinking, 'This is way too easy!' And you were right! Guard-Bots, attack!"
A bunch of Guard-Bots flew towards Clay, Raimundo, Kimiko, Omi and Alice.
"Dragon X Kumei Formation!"Omi ordered.
The five monks did the Dragon X Kumei Formation to fight their enemies.
However the warriors weren't able to defeat Jack or his Guard-Bots since the evil boy genius held the Mind Reader Conch.
"Guard-Bots! Finish them!"Wuya ordered.
"Never tell my Guard-Bots what to do!"Jack instructed with a glare. "Guard-Bots! Finish them!"
The Guard-Bots surrounded the five monks as they prepared to fire missiles at them.
Suddenly Megan riding inside the hamster ball crushed in and easily took out all the Guard-Bots.
"You may have defeated my Guard-Bots..."Jack started.
"As usual."Wuya muttered.
"But I still have the Conch!"Jack stated with a smirk. "Mind Reader Conch!"
Jack used the Mind Reader Conch to hear the monks thoughts causing him to rush toward the bag of Shen Gong Wu.
"No, you don't!"Alice scowled.
Jack and Alice grab the bag of Shen Gong Wu at the same time, starting a Xiaolin Showdown.
"Nice try, but no way!"Jack snapped.
"Jack, I challenge you to a Xiaolin Showdown!"Alice challenged with a glare. "I wager my Silk Spitter against your Mind Reader Conch for the bag of Shen Gong Wu!"
"Fine, pinkie."Jack retorted. "The game is to first cry out Uncle loses!"
"Let's go!"Jack and Alice shouted. "Xiaolin Showdown!"
When the showdown started, pipes and wires started to move and connect to create an arena for the showdown.
"Gong Yi Tanpai!"Jack and Alice yelled out in unison.
"Mind Reader Conch!"Jack chanted.
"This place is sort of like the inside of Hatter's Factory."Alice thought. "But I can still outsmart the insect."
Alice launched forward and attacks, but Jack easily dodges her.
"Silk Spitter!"Alice chanted.
Alice fires more silk, which gets dodged, then swings down toward the other monks.
"I know your every move!"Jack laughed and frowned. "And I do not need a breath mint!"
The Dragon of Ice jumped down using the Silk Spitter to talk to her companions.
"Guys, I've got a plan."Alice stated. "You guys distract him with your thoughts while I sneak forward and knock him down."
"If our pity insults distract warriors discipline as ourselves-"Omi started.
"Just imagine what it will do to a mama's boy, Jack."Kimiko said smugly.
"Hey!"Jack complained. "Who are you calling a mama's boy?!"
Alice used the Silk Spitter to swing around the pipes and wires in the showdown.
"Maybe if he walked around, he wouldn't look like a scrawny old lady!"Kimiko thought.
"Oh yes!"Omi thought mischievously. "And his the laziest of the lazy!"
Alice fired silk on Jack's eyes to blind him before swinging out of sight.
"I don't look like a scrawny old lady and I am not lazy!"Jack argued and took out the Mind Reader Conch. "Mind Reader Conch!"
"That Jack is soaked than a three legged cow in quicksand!"Clay thought.
"Huh?! What?!"Jack questioned. "I am faster than a three legged cow!"
Jack started running towards Alice.
"Kiss my boot!"Jack taunted.
Alice makes her leg go up and kicks Jack in the jaw, causing him to land on a pipe.
"For a evil wanna be, you sure love losing to a girl!"Alice thought.
Jack held onto a wire and landed on top of a pipe.
"Give me a break, pinkie!"Jack retorted as he looked around. "At least I don't have a weird hairstyle!"
Jack notice Alice sitting on a nearby pipe causing him to pale.
"Ciao, ciao, Spicer!"Alice thought with a grin.
Alice hits Jack again, causing the evil boy genius to scream as he headed to the ground below.
"His stupidity is about to cost him another victory!"Wuya thought bitterly.
"It is not!"Jack complained. "Who's side are you on?!"
Alice used the Silk Spitter to create a giant spider web for Jack to land on.
"Uncle!"Jack cried out. "Uncle!"
Clay, Omi, Kimiko and Raimundo ran towards Alice.
"Way da go, Allie!"Kimiko remarked.
"Butt kicking!"Clay chuckled.
"I couldn't have done it without you guys or your thoughts."Alice responded with a smile. "Thank you."
Wuya glared and floated towards Jack.
"YOU LOSER!"Wuya roared in anger.
"Are you thinking that or saying that?"Jack asked.
Wuya screeched in rage causing Jack to make a run for it.
"Changing Chopsticks!"Jack chanted.
Jack became small causing him to run past the five monks and hide in a small entrance beneath the stairs.
"Get out of here, rodent!"Jack demanded.
Jack kicked a rat out of it's home.
The Xiaolin Dragons thank Megan for her help.
"Thank you, Jack's cousin Megan."Omi replied.
"And?"Dojo asked.
"And thank you, Lady Dojo."Kimiko teased.
Dojo removed the pink hat he wore and grinned causing Alice to chuckle lightly.
The green dragon grew big and the five monks took off.
"Hope to see you again, Megan!"Alice chuckled.
"Bye!"Megan giggled and waved. "Come back and play sometime!"
Megan turned her anger towards Jack and demands him to play with her.
"Jack!"Megan growled. "Come play with me this instant!"
"I don't think I know that game."Jack said nervously.
"Scream like a sissy boy!"Megan ordered.
Jack screamed like a little girl as he hid in the small crack.
The Next Morning...
The Xiaolin Dragons decide to test their newly formed team-work.
"Orb of Tornami, WATER!"Omi chanted.
Omi fired water using the Orb of Tornami.
"Sword of the Storm, WIND!"Raimundo chanted.
Raimundo used the Sword of the Storm guide the water in a new direction.
"Komori Sword, ICE!"Alice chanted.
Alice used the Komori Sword to turn the guided water into a frozen tornado twist that headed towards Kimiko.
"Star Hanabi, FIRE!"Kimiko chanted.
Kimiko created a circle of fire using the Star Hanabi which melted the frozen tornado into steam.
"Fist of Tebigong, EARTH!"Clay chanted.
Clay used the Fist of Tebigong to create a crack in the ground with Kimiko falling into it, yet rising back forth and unleashing the fire at various trees and bushes of the Xiaolin Temple.
"Kimiko that is most definitely not part of practicing your element!"Omi stated.
"Sword of the Storm!"Raimundo chanted.
Omi and Raimundo used their Orb of Tornami and Sword of the Storm to remove the fire.
The five monks looked at the damage in the temple gardens.
"When Master Fung finds out, we are so going to fry for this."Kimiko commented.
"Allow me, Kim."Alice instructed. "Komori Sword, ICE!"
The trees and rose bushes were now glowing prettier since Alice decorated them with frost.
Raimundo, Clay, Omi and Kimiko marvelled at the beauty that Alice created.
"At least now Master Fung does not know won't hurt him."Omi said proudly.
Master Fung appeared behind Omi.
"And what doe Master Fung not know?"Master Fung questioned.
Master Fung held up the Mind Reader Conch causing Omi to chuckle nervously.
