"Don't touch me, Hisoka."
"Aw so hostile, Vivi-chan~."
"Hisoka, I am not in the mood for your games right now."
After the fight between Killua and Illumi, the poor Zoldyck child wasn't the same. Leorio and Kurapika did their very best to help comfort the child. However, once it was Leorio's and Bodoro's fight, Killua interfered with the match and ended up killing the old man in cold blood.
When Netero announced Killua being disqualified from the match, Killua left the arena. Vividus tried to go after the boy. However, she was held back by Hisoka and prevented her from chasing after him. By the time Vividus managed to escape his grasp: he was long gone.
"Are you mad at me because I stopped you?" Hisoka asked innocently, tilting his head to the side.
"Yes."
Walking through the corridors, Vividus was trying her hardest to shake Hisoka off her tail. However, no matter how many turns she makes, he was always right behind her. She didn't have time for this, she needed to find Kurapika, Gon and Leorio to see what their battle plans are for trying to get Killua back.
However, she doesn't know exactly where the others are.
Hisoka was trying his hardest to get the woman's attention. But the way Vividus wasn't giving him the time of day, he realized he was far from Vividus's mind. Clicking his tongue in annoyance, he would grab Vividus's shoulder: spinning her around and pinned her against the wall.
She was confused, Vividus wasn't sure what suddenly got into Hisoka. Looking around, she was happy to see no one was around. Considering she was once again: trapped in between his arms.
"You know, you should really stop doing that." She stated bluntly, huffing her chest up.
"Vivi-chan, I'm only doing this because you're not giving me attention~." Replied Hisoka, looking down at her small figure with a fake smile.
"You're such a child, Hisoka," Vividus replied, furrowing her eyebrows together. "I don't understand you. Why do you want my attention so badly?"
Hisoka rolled his eyes, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear to get a better look at Vividus's features. "Because you're interesting, Vividus."
This was confusing for the woman. Processing the information that he just said, he said something that was out of character. He's usually perverted or tries to make her feel uncomfortable on purpose or mess with her. She thought it was a joke.
But for once, he wasn't joking.
Of course, that serious demeanour suddenly disappeared when his usual Cheshire like smile crept onto his lips. Tiling his head to the side. "Besides! The last time you gave me full attention was before we reached Trick Tower~. Then you proceed to ignore me and toss me aside for the remainder of the exam!"
Hearing Hisoka mention the airship situation caused the poor Kurta woman to become suddenly flustered. "Can you please stop mentioning that!"
"Why?" Hisoka questioned, leaning in close to her face. "You scared that your precious baby brother is going to hear?"
Vividus's eyes widen, now glaring up at the Jester. Not caring how close he is to her. "How did you know?"
Hisoka rolled his eyes and chuckled a bit. "It wasn't hard to put the two and two together. Especially how you two look alike, just different colour hair and eyes~."
Vividus pouted, looking away from him for a brief moment. "Damn...that's what Killua said too."
Realizing something, her eyes widened a bit as something occurred to her. Remembering the fight between Kurapika and Hisoka. The fight didn't last long because as soon as Hisoka whispered something to Kurapika, he forfeit the match. Even Kurapika didn't disclose to her what Hisoka said to him and that made her upset. "Wait a minute, what did you say to Kurapika during your fight?!"
"Oh? Whatever do you mean?" Hisoka queried, tilting his head to the side, giving an innocent look.
"You know exactly what!" She exclaimed, jabbing her finger into his chest. "You forfeit the match because you said something to him!"
Hisoka grinned, no longer caging Vividus in his arms and placed his hands on his hips. "I just told him something that might benefit him. That's all~."
Not liking his tone, Vividus grabbed his shirt and tugged him down to her level. Glaring deep into his golden hues. "I swear to god Hisoka, you better not involve him with our plans."
Grinning widely, he liked how rough Vividus was with him. Considering he was taller than the Kurta woman. He was impressed by how she forced him down to her level: literally. Gently placing his hand on top of her own, he would force Vividus to let go of his shirt: now holding her hand in his own. "Hate to break it to you, but he's going to get involved whether you like it or not~." With that, he lifted her hand up and planted a small kiss on the top of her knuckles. Causing the Kurta woman to twitch in annoyance. "No matter how much you want to protect your beloved brother, you can't shield him forever."
Hisoka looked down at Vividus, his lips suddenly turning into a sinister grin. He licked his lips as the thought of the Kurta siblings fighting the Phantom Troupe made him tremble in delight. "Just like you: he is destined to fight the Phantom Troupe. He wants blood, Vivi-chan. So when the battle goes down, I am curious to see who is going to make the first kill: You...or Kura-chan."
Vividus was about to reply, but soon she was cut off by someone coughing awkwardly. Looking over, both Hisoka and Vividus none other than Netero himself. Looking at the Jester and the Kurta woman with an amused grin on his face.
"My, am I interrupting?" Netero asked, tilting his head to the side as he was curious.
"No, you're not chairman~." Hisoka purred, letting go of Vividus's hand. "Vividus and I were just wrapping up our conversation. I'm about to take my leave now."
"I see what a shame. It looks like you two; we're having a vital conversation!" He exclaimed, laughing wholeheartedly.
Shaking her head, Vividus disagreed with Hisoka's statement. She looked up at the man and narrowed her eyes. "We are not done with this conversation!"
"But I am." He teased, starting to walk away from Vividus and Netero. "I shall take my leave, thank you for making the exam...entertaining Chairman~."
Vividus tried to reach out and stop Hisoka. However, before she could catch him, he disappeared out of her sight. Letting out a frustrated grown, she stomped her foot down. "Damn that Jester!" Hearing the old man chuckle from behind, she would look at Netero with her lips pouting. "It's not funny, Oji-san."
"Sorry, Young one, it's quite entertaining for me," Netero said, starting to walk down the hall. "Come, walk with me." He waved at Vividus, motioning her to follow him.
Vividus hesitated for a moment, simply stared at the old man. 'How much did he hear?' She started to wonder why Netero appeared in the first place. Shaking those thoughts away, she jogged up to his side. Walking alongside him as he took her through the corridors of the building.
"My dear, what's your plan now that you officially obtained your license?" Netero asked, looking over at Vividus.
"I already told you, I'm still going to hunt down the Phantom Troupe," Vividus said bluntly, shoving her hands in her pockets. "But first...the boys and I are going on a rescue mission to get Killua back. Once we get him back, then I'll resume my plan."
Netero blinked a few times, intrigued. "Oh? You still want to go after him despite what he did?"
She nodded her head, fiddling with the glass jar in her pocket. "Yes. As sad as it was to see an innocent applicant die like that...I still value Killua, no matter what."
"Even if he's from a family of assassins?" Netero asked.
"Even if he's from a family of assassins." She repeated, feeling a bit of deja-vu. Shaking it off, she would look over at Netero. "My love for the kiddo is unconditional. I know he has the potential to grow up in a kind-hearted person like Gon. He is fortunate enough to befriend a kid such as him. Plus he's still young, he has room to change if he wants too."
She heard a soft chuckle escape his lips, "You must really believe in change, don't you my dear?"
"I do," She replied, continuing to fiddle with the jar in her pocket. "However, I also came to realize that not everyone is willing to change. Some refuse to better themselves because they believe change is useless."
Remember what Chrollo said to her all those years ago, she felt a tug on the corner of her lips. She wanted to frown, but she didn't want to worry the old man. Vividus would take one of her hands out of her pocket and scratch the side of her cheek in thought. "Point being, I want to help the boys retrieve Killua back. The kid deserves a better life than working as an assassin. He's so much more than that."
Netero looked at her with a soft look. "You must truly care about Killua, don't you?"
Vividus nodded her head, remembering her fondest moments with Killua. Soon she would look over at Netero with a bright smile. "I do, if it wasn't for him...I wouldn't be able to get my life back on track and reunited with my baby brother. I owe him that much. I can't leave him behind, knowing he's miserable. I don't think I can live with myself if I don't at least try. I already lost Kurapika once, I refuse to lose anyone else."
"I see, you must have a soft spot for children then." Netero said, "What about Kurapika?"
"What about him?" Vividus asked, raising an eyebrow. "I love him just as much, Oji-san. Even though it's been years since I last saw Kurapika, I will give my life for him. He was my motivation to become stronger. Just like Killua, my love for him is unconditional."
Netero stopped in his steps, just staring at the Kurta woman and not saying a word. Vividus simply returned the stare, looking at one another. Vividus felt like the old man was reading her, trying to figure out her character. She was curious about why he was just staring at her like this, the woman started to think to herself, 'Did I say something wrong?'
But really, the Old man was just intrigued by Vividus. Feeling positive from their conversation that is being exchanged. Hearing such kind words is something he doesn't often hear nowadays. Knowing that in the world they live in: not many people are willing to stand by their comrades anymore, especially in a place filled with monsters.
"Vividus," Netero said, looking at her with a serious expression on his face. "You are an interesting child. When you obtain more experience in your ventures, would you consider working for the Hunters Association."
Vividus's eyes widened in shock, taking in his words. "You...want me to work with you?"
"Yes, I do." He replied smirking.
The Kurta woman didn't feel convinced, "Oji-san, why me? Why do you want someone, such as myself to work for you? I'm sure you know other hunters who surpass me in terms of skill and experience."
"You have potential Vividus," Netero started, placing his hand on top of her shoulder. "Potential to do so much more in this lifetime. I won't stop you from becoming a blacklist hunter. However, once you got what you wanted or be at peace with yourself. I believe that it would be fun to work together."
Letting go of her shoulder, he would point his finger at a large pair of orange doors. "Past those doors is where the boys are. Thank you for indulging a silly old man like myself in a conversation. I will take my leave now."
Nodding her head in understanding. She would stand in front of Netero. Before he could leave, he saw the woman give him a respectful bow. Standing back up, she would have a huge smile plastered all over her face. "Thank you, Oji-san. When the time comes, I will reach out to you."
Netero let out one last soft chuckling, waving his hands at the platinum blonde and parted ways with her. "It's my pleasure, good luck Vividus,"
With that, the old man disappeared out of her sight.
Opening the large doors, she would appear on the top level of the lobby and see the trio at the bottom. Talking among one another as they are planning on buying the tickets to their destination.
"It's going to take three days by airship to reach Kuroro mountain," Kurapika said in thought. "When should we leave?"
"Right now!" Gon exclaimed happily. "The sooner we can get to Killua, the better!"
Kurapika smiled, starting to type in the information on the computer. "Alright, how many tickets should I book for then? Three?"
On cue, Vividus would walk down the stairs, raising up to four fingers as she approached the boys with a toothy grin. "Make that four."
The boys looked over to see where the voice was. Soon all of their faces brighten then they saw Vividus. Gon jumped over to the woman and gave her a tight hug. While Leorio gave her a nod and Kurapika looked at his sister with a welcoming smile.
"Vividus-nee! I'm so happy to see that you want to join us!" Gon exclaimed, looking up at her with sparkling eyes.
"Of course!" Vividus Exclaimed, ruffling Gon's hair. "I never said no, Plus wouldn't miss it for the world. I gotta beat some sense into that kid."
Leorio looked over at Vividus with a sweatdrop on his head. "Seriously? Is that really necessary?"
The woman looked at the tall man, giving him a thumbs up. "Extremely necessary."
Kurapika laughed softly, typing in the new information and booked the ticket for all four of them. "Alright, I got the tickets! We should leave now then."
Smiling brightly, she would let go of Gon and embrace Kurapika from the side. Giving him an awkward sibling hug as Kurapika blushed in embarrassment. "Look at you all grown up; my Kura-chan is so smart now~."
Kurapika tried to wiggle out of his sister's grip, but she was just too strong. "Oh, so NOW we can call each other by our nicknames? Onee-san, let go!"
Vividus shook her head, "Onee-san? Well then, I must be getting old then if you're not calling me 'chan' anymore!" She said, planting a kiss on his cheek. "I'll never let you go~."
Leorio coughed awkwardly, scratching the side of his cheek to see the woman so suddenly affectionate towards Kurapika. By the sounds of he, Vividus had a feeling Kurapika told Leorio and Gon about them being related. "Come on guys! You guys and talk later, we need to go."
Laughing a bit, she would let go of Kurapika. The four started to walk out of the building and started to make their way towards the airport.
Vividus couldn't help but smile brightly towards all of them. Looking over at Leorio, she didn't realize that she was starting to become fond of him. Despite him acting like a prick at times, he indeed does have a caring nature.
Gon, who is only twelve years old and managed to win many hearts of everyone around him. Something about him just makes him so unique, she can't wait to see him grow alongside Killua.
Then lastly, her baby brother: Kurapika. As he is a lot older now, a part of her was sad that she wasn't able to see him grow. However, what matters is that he is alive, and they found each other. Vividus no longer felt alone, knowing someone she truly cares about survived the massacre.
After everything that happened, she felt like her adventure as a new hunter had just begun. Her first mission: is to save Killua.
"Alright boys, now what's the plan?"
