"I'm sorry? Me and Hope were targeted by another duelist in the Neo Kaiba Grand Prix? So we could be eliminated from the tournament and then, what, exactly?" Asked Emily. "It would allow them a better chance of winning the whole thing" Said 'Kaiba'. "Wow. This sounds like the greatest plan I've ever heard. Up there with the Battle of Waterloo" Said Emily. "And how do you figure that?" Asked 'Kaiba'. "Well, I kinda have a slight reputation of not being new to the game. In fact, I'm quite well versed, and just generally alright at it. I know what kind of a deck Aporia uses, so I wouldn't used a extra deck full of synchro monsters. Witch means someone's alarm bells are going off, and they will be looking into it. As for this plot, if I had to take a guess, you had a few friends record our duel and use some sort of hologram system, no... maybe even the same system the duel disks use to represent me and my actions in that duel. You played edited versions of my moves so the hologram would lose against Aporia" Said Emily. "Good job. You figured the whole game out" Said 'Kaiba'. "I don't know who would want me out of the Neo Kaiba Grand Prix. So tell me" Said Emily. "You really think I have no integrity?" Asked 'Kaiba'. "Bite me, whatever your name is" Said Emily. "You may call me Noumander" Said Noumander. "Bite me, Noumander" Said Emily. "Oh ho! Don't get lippy with me, Emily Dual" Said Noumander. "Lippy? I'll stab you, and then you'll start crying about who sent you to do this" Said Emily, putting her bladed staff under Noumander's chin. "And if you kill me, you won't learn anything, and will have no way to go back" Said Noumander. "Are you kidding? I can just teleport back. You are pretty much useless at this point, and even better off dead so me and Hope won't have to deal with you again" Said Emily. "You can't teleport back. Kaiba Land America is surrounded by Anti-Teleportation Devices so only people carrying a certain device can teleport in" Said Noumander. "Ok... I'll just teleport outside of the place, and then walk in" Said Emily. "Oh... I didn't..." Said Noumander, as Emily stabbed Noumander through the hand and into the ground before taking the bladed staff and splitting it in half to use the other end to pin Noumander's other hand to the ground. "But, just in case I need the thing you have" Said Emily, as she looked through Noumander's pockets, and took a fob sized device out of his pocket and held it up. "I'll be borrowing it" Said Emily, before she took her blades out of Noumander's hands, and recombined them, before putting it on her back. A loud boom rang out, and Emily looked behind her. "Wow. I didn't think we were close to a volcano at all. Oh well. Goodbye" Said Emily. Emily then disappeared.
Meanwhile, in the arena
"And Yugo wins! That means that the duelists moving on are Seto Kaiba, Bohman, Hope Xiao Rose, Joey Wheeler, Zigfried Von Schroder, Earth, Ai, Apoira, Jack Atlas, Gore, Playmaker, Lightning, Revolver and Yugo!" Declared Hope, as he held Yugo's arm up. Suddenly, Emily appeared in the centre of the arena. "Oh. Alright! I made it. Aporia! We have a duel we need to do!" Declared Emily, pointing at Apoira. "Emily? You were eliminated, what are you doing here?" Asked Hope. "We were targeted this round by an old friend. You happen to remember that member of the cult we met during the last Kaiba Grand Prix? He copied Kaiba's appearance and rigged our duels. And he was hired by one of our opponents" Said Emily. "What? Who did it?" Asked Hope. "Yeah, unfortunately it's really just finger pointing and emotional gesturing. I, um, I didn't really interrogate him all that much" Said Emily. "... Of course not" Said Hope. "But, I will find out who did it. And that starts with winning my way back into the tournament by beating who I should of" Said Emily. "Well, you are going to need a new deck. After all, you were..." Said Hope. "I know. Don't worry. Ever since I came back to life, I've been using the deck of tempered Light and Darkness, but I've been making another ever since the last Kaiba Grand Prix. I retrieved it from home before I came back. I'm going to make it to the finals and duel you with it. But, I suppose you can have a sneak peek for today" Said Emily, as Aporia stood up. "I'll take on this challenge, Emily. And I'll eliminate you for a second time" Said Aporia, as he walked to the end of the duel arena, and activated his duel disk. "Well, it might be a challenge for you. I'll be taking the first turn" Said Emily. Emily then went to the other end of the duel arena, and activated her duel disk. "Duel!" Declared Aporia and Emily.
Turn 1: Emily
Emily draws. Emily normal summons "Maverick Ver8: Optic Sunflower" (500/ 500), and activates its effect, allowing Emily to normal summon another "Maverick" monster this turn. Emily normal summons "Maverick Ver4: Cyber Kujacker" (1800/ 400). Emily sets two cards and ends her turn.
Turn 2: Aporia
Aporia draws. Aporia normal summons "Meklord Army Arsenal of Obbligato" (1200/ 1800). Aporia activates the first effect of "Meklord Army Arsenal of Obbligato", destroying itself to special summon 2 "Meklord Army" monsters from his Deck. Aporia special summons "Meklord Army of Wisel" (1800/ 0) and "Meklord Army of Skiel" (1200/ 0). The stat boosting abilities of "Meklord Army of Wisel" and "Meklord Army of Skiel" then activate (1800 → 2000 / 0) (1200 → 1600/ 0). "Meklord Army of Wisel" attacks "Maverick Ver4: Cyber Kujacker", but Emily activates her face down continuous trap card "Maverick Emergency Ace Combination" allowing Emily to once per turn use two different "Maverick" monsters she controls to fusion summon a "Ace Maverick" from her extra deck. Emily draws. Emily activates the first effect of "Ace Maverick Optic Kujacker", allowing her to summon a "Maverick" monster that would require tributes this turn without tributing once this turn. Emily normal summons "Maverick Ver5: Grizzly Slash" (2500/ 2000/ LV 8). Emily activates the effect of "Maverick Ver5: Grizzly Slash", discarding one card from her hand to destroy one card Aporia controls, and Emily choses to destroy Aporia's face down card, witch was "Meklord Aporian Vector". "Maverick Ver5: Grizzly Slash" attacks "Meklord Army of Wisel", but Aporia activates the effect of the "Meklord Aporian Vector" in his graveyard, banishing it to destroy all monsters Emily controls since she declared an attack, but Emily activates the second effect of "Ace Maverick Optic Kujacker", returning it to the extra deck and special summoning "Maverick Ver8: Optic Sunflower" and "Maverick Ver4: Cyber Kujacker" from her graveyard to prevent "Maverick" monsters from being destroyed by battle or card effects until the end of the turn. Aporia special summons "Meklord Army Arsenal of Obbligato". Aporia activates the first effect of "Meklord Army Arsenal of Obbligato", destroying itself to special summon 2 "Meklord Army" monsters from his Deck. Aporia special summons "Meklord Army of Wisel" (1800/ 0) and "Meklord Army of Granel" (1200/ 0), and then activates the effect of "Meklord Emperor Skiel" (2200/ 2200) from his hand, since a face-up monster he controlled was destroyed by a card effect and sent to the Graveyard, special summoning itself from the hand. Emily activates the quick play spell card "Double or Nothing!", allowing "Ace Maverick Kujacker Slash" to attack "Meklord Astro Dragon Asterisk" again while doubling its attack points because its attack was negated (12800 → 25600/ 1400) (Aporia LP: 0). Emily wins.
"And with that final attack, it appears Emily is our winner" Said Hope. "That duel was more worthy of a victor then the one I had with that hologram" Said Aporia, as he was teleported away. "Then I guess we have our confirmed duelists for the next round. Seto Kaiba, Bohman, Hope Xiao Rose, Joey Wheeler, Zigfried Von Schroder, Earth, Ai, Jack Atlas, Gore, Playmaker, Lightning, Revolver, Yugo and Emily Dual. Later tonight, or after i find the real Kaiba, Kaiba or I will reveal the match ups for the next round at tonight's party" Said Hope.
At the party
Emily sat alone, drinking out of a bottle containing a black liquid. "Gee, I didn't think KaibaLand had anything like this" Said Emily. "That may have to do with the fact that I was the one who got all the beverages" Said Hope, who hugged Emily from behind before sitting down next to her. "Hey! Did you find Kaiba?" Asked Emily. "In a broom closet, bound and gagged" Said Hope. "Oh? When was he put their?" Asked Emily. "Apparently, before Zigfried's match with Yuma" Said Hope. "So, Kaiba doesn't know about the cure for Mokuba?" Asked Emily. "He's been informed. In fact, last I checked, it's was being made. Mokuba may be cured within a few moments, give or take" Said Hope. "That's good news" Said Emily. "I'd had hoped so" Said Hope, as Kaiba walked onto the stage. "I have come to announce the matches for round 3! They are as follows! Hope Xiao Rose VS Gore! Revolver VS Emily Dual! Seto Kaiba VS Bohman! Ai VS Earth! Zigfried Von Schroder VS Jack Atlas! Yugo VS Playmaker! And the final match will be Joey Wheeler VS Lightning!" Declared Kaiba, before Mokuba walked onto the stage. "And I'll be your judge!" Declared Mokuba. "Mokuba!?" Asked Kaiba. "Yeah, I'm all ok now. So I'll keep order in all of your duels" Said Mokuba. "It's good to see you well, Mokuba" Said Kaiba. "Same to you, big bro! Now, everyone! Get some rest! It's going to be a big day tomorrow" Said Mokuba, as he and Kaiba left the stage. "It's kinda nice to see them back together again" Said Hope. "In a way, yes" Said Emily. "Well, I better turn in. Today has been... an interesting day" Said Hope, as he stood up. "Ok. I'll be in in a few minutes" Said Emily. "Ok" Said Hope, as he walked away. Emily's phone then vibrated, and she picked it up. "A text? From a unknown number?" Asked Emily. Emily then checked the text. "I didn't get either of you out last round, but I'll get you out now. This is not a promise, it's an guarantee" Said Emily, before she looked around the room, revealing it to be empty.
