When the trio of Immortals got back to Mystic Falls later that night, they found Elijah and Klaus waiting for them. Confused, the trio got out of Liah's car and walked up to the older Immortals, wondering what was wrong.
"Elijah? I thought you had left to find Esther?"Elena asked, looking at her Fiance with a raised eyebrow.
"I did, but Niklaus called me and told me that Esther had come out of hiding and had spoken with Rebekah before she died."The trio looked at Elijah with wide eyes.
"You mean before Nik killed her again?"Kol retorted and Klaus glared at him.
"No, I didn't kill her this time. She died because her connection to the Bennett Bloodline was cut off, making her weak. After all, she may be a Witch, but Witches can't live forever."Liah coughed."Unlike Elena, of course."Klaus quickly added and smiled at Elena.
"Well, I'm going to head inside. I need my beauty sleep."Kol said, faking a yawn and Liah giggled at her twin's antic's before turning her attention to Klaus.
"Where's Rebekah?"Liah asked.
"She's with Alaric, getting the last White Oak Stake."
Liah raised an eyebrow but shrugged."Alright, well, I'm off to bed as well. Goodnight Brothers, goodnight Little Sister."
"Goodnight, Aaliyah."Elijah said, placing a kiss on Liah's forehead.
"Goodnight, Liah."Elena and Klaus said in unison before Liah walked inside the Mansion after Kol and Klaus turned to Elijah, who had gathered Elena up in his embrace.
"Well, are you two coming inside or you going to your secret house?"Klaus questioned the couple.
"I'm taking Elena back to, as you say, secret house."Elijah said with a deadpanned look.
"Well, I wouldn't call it a secret house if you'd just tell me where you live."Klaus grumbled.
"The answer to that is still no."Elijah stated and Klaus huffed before looking down at Elena.
"Take her home then, she looks like she's ready to pass out."Klaus stated after a second.
"I might as well, considering I had more caffeine then I should have."Elena grumbled, leaning heavily against Elijah, but to him, she knew she must have felt as light as a feather."Night, Klaus."Elena said to the male Hybrid before she was led to Elijah's car.
"Night, Elena."Klaus said before heading inside the Mansion.
"You alright?"Elena asked sleepy when Elijah pulled her half way on to his chest, her head resting where his heart should be beating while he looked up at the ceiling of their room.
"I'm alright."Elijah mumbled, his voice soft, yet firm, as if trying to tell Elena that he really was fine but Elena knew better.
"Liar."Elena retorted gently."You're grieving, in your own way. I know you are."Elijah glanced down at her as she sighed softly."I didn't care much about Miranda's and Grayson's deaths, or John's, but I did care about Jenna's and Isobel's deaths, Elijah."Elena said as she sat up, placing one hand on the mattress and one hand on Elijah's chest, looking down at him."But some little part of me still mourned their deaths, so even though you don't want to admit it out loud, I know you're mourning over Finn's death and your Mother's second death."Elena stated, giving Elijah a knowing look.
"I don't deserve you."Elijah said after a few seconds.
"Well, to be honest with you, I don't think I deserve you either."Elena mumbled back, bending down and placed a kiss on Elijah's lips. It was quick, but it was sweet and gentle."But I love you anyway."She whispered lovingly against his lips.
"And I love you as well, Elena."Elijah mumbled back, smiling."Now, we should get some rest."Elijah added and the brunette laid back down on his chest.
The next morning, the couple woke up to Elena's phone going off."No."Elena whined and grabbed her pillow, putting it over her face."Too early."She had woken up in the same position she had fallen asleep in.
Grumbling under his breath, Elijah reached out, with his eyes still closed, and grabbed Elena's phone and answered it."Elena's phone, this is Elijah speaking."Elijah said in a gruff and husky voice filled with sleep.
"Oh, uh, hi, Elijah."Came a nervous feminine voice."Uh, this is Caroline Forbes, is Elena there, please?"The blonde squeaked out.
"Elena, it's Miss. Forbes."Elijah said, placing his free hand over the phone, even though he knew it didn't do much since Caroline was a Vampire.
Huffing softly, Elena removed her pillow and took the phone."Hey Caroline."Elena said tiredly.
"Did I wake you?"Caroline asked softly, hearing how tired the brunette was and had heard the tiredness in Elijah's voice too.
"Kind of?"Elena said, yawning softly.
"Was that a question or an answer?"Caroline couldn't help but say in a serious voice and raised an eyebrow while smiling.
"Agh, Caroline, I'll hang up."Elena threatened the blonde.
"Ok, ok!"Caroline exclaimed."I know it's been a week, and a lot of stuff has happened in said week, but I just wanna say congratulations on being engaged. Even if it is to an Original, but at least it's Elijah."Elena smiled softly as she felt Elijah chuckle from underneath her."But, ah, I also wanna say that I'm sorry."Caroline added softly.
Elena's smile turned into a frown."Sorry for what, Caroline?"
"I knew what Esther was going to do to her children and I didn't even think about how you'd feel, especially since you're getting married to Elijah."Caroline said in a soft voice, filled with regret."I didn't even think Esther would Link you with them."She cried, sounding as if she was ready to burst into tears.
"Caroline, none of that was your fault."Elena chide the blonde."You didn't do anything."
"I distracted Klaus while Alaric Daggered Kol."Caroline retorted gently, ashamed of herself."Oh god, did you get hurt!? You're not a Vampire, are you?"
"What?"Elena asked in confusion for a split second."No, no, I'm not a Vampire, Caroline. I'm still a Witch. I just felt a sharp pain in my heart when Kol was Daggered, but I'm fine now."Elena heard the blonde sigh in relief."Hey, Care?"Elena suddenly asked hesitantly and felt Elijah's eyes burn questionably into her skull at her sudden hesitant voice.
"Yeah Elena?"Caroline asked curiously.
Elena bit her lip, nibbling on it nervously."I was wondering, did you want to come to my Wedding?"Caroline's sudden squeal of excitement caused Elena to wrench her hand away from her ear at lightening speed while Elijah tried to hide his laughter.
"Yes, yes, yes!"Caroline exclaimed, practically bouncing up and down on the spot.
"Caroline, wait. You didn't even think about my question properly!"Elena exclaimed, frowning.
"Elena, this is your Wedding we're talking about, why would I need to think about it?"Caroline questioned Elena with a scoff.
"Because it's mine and Elijah's Wedding. Caroline, his Siblings will be there."Elena said as if it was obvious.
"And?"Caroline asked coolly, sounding suspicious.
"Well, I thought... you know, with everything going on..."Elena failed to find the right words.
"Elena, I may not know Elijah that well, but I've heard a lot about him, mostly good and only a little bad."Caroline said and Elena and were relieved, knowing that Caroline must have at least gotten most of her information from either Stefan or Emily, as much as Elena hated to admit."Plus, I have to deal with Klaus regularly, do you really think I can't handle him for your Wedding Day, and I like Liah and can tolerate Rebekah for a few hours, I suppose."
"And what about Kol?"
"He's tolerable."
Elijah snickered at Caroline's answer while Elena smiled."So you'll be there?"
"Yes."Caroline said confidently.
"As a Bridesmaid?"Elena questioned, grinning.
"Yes!"Caroline exclaimed happily."When is it?"
"We're not sure yet,"Elena looked up at Elijah, who shrugged lightly and gave her a look she understood."but considering the fact that Rebekah wants us to get married really soon, I suppose it will be real soon."
"Ok, just give me the time and place, and I'll be there!"Caroline chirped."I gotta go now, I'll see you later, Elena."
"Bye, Caroline."Elena said before hanging up.
Just as Elena was about to put her phone back on the bedside nightstand, it went off again, causing the brunette to groan and check to see who it was, only to see that it wasn't someone calling her but texting her.
Liah: Hey, I don't know if you or Elijah are up yet, but Rebekah asked me to ask you two to come to the Decade Dance, please say yes.
Elena: Why?
Liah: Because if you say no, I'll get Kol to hassle you two until you agree!
"Elijah, will Liah really let Kol hassle us until we agree to do something?"Elena asked Elijah, who had closed his eyes and was running his fingers through Elena's hair.
An irritated sigh left Elijah's lips."Yes."He stated and Elena groaned.
Elena: Fine. What's the theme?
Liah: 1920's, thankfully!
A smile started to spread across Elena's face."Elijah, how do you feel about me dressing up as a Flapper Girl?"Elijah's eyes snapped open and he looked down at Elena with wide eyes.
"I would love to see you dressed up as a Flapper Girl, Lovely."Elena's smile widened at how pleased Elijah sounded with the idea."Though, may I ask why?"
"Rebekah wants us at the Decade Dance and the theme is the 1920's."Elena explained.
"I suppose I will have to go as a Chaperone?"Elijah asked and Elena nodded.
"I'll have to go as one as well, Elijah. I'm not in High School anymore."Elena added.
"Well then, let's go get ready."Elijah said, sitting up, which caused Elena to have to sit up as well.
"The Decade Dance is hours away!"Elena exclaimed as she rolled over onto her pillow.
"Yes, but Rebekah and Aaliyah will want to do your hair and makeup."Elijah retorted, causing Elena to groan in displeasure.
"Where's Rebekah?"Elena asked as soon as she stepped into Liah's room.
"She left, wanting to make sure everything was ready for tonight."Liah said, looking up at Elena."The light blue one's yours. Go on. Go try it on."Elena, as if the dress was fine china, picked it up gently and headed over to the bathroom to get changed.
When Elena came out five minutes later, Liah, who was in the green flapper dress and had her hair done up in a 1920's Sophisticated Chignon, made her sit down in front of the mirror and quickly did her hair up in a 1920's Retro Rolled Updo, and then they did each other's makeup.
"Well, aren't you three a couple of Brooksy's."Liah said as she and Elena stepped into the living room and saw Klaus wearing his white suit and tie that he had worn during the 1920's, Kol in a brown suit and tie, and Elijah in a dark blue suit and a light blue tie."Brooksy's?"Elena and Kol echoed questionably.
"Brooksy's?"Elena and Kol said questionably in unison.
"It means Classy Dresser."Elijah, Klaus, and Liah said in unison, smiling at one another.
"Aren't you two just a couple of Baby Vamps."Elijah crooned as he came to Elena's side.
"Now, let's go to this Blow."Klaus said, smirking as Kol went to escort Liah to the car.
"Did you just call me a Baby Vamp?"Elena asked curiously as Elijah guided her to the front door and then outside to the cars.
"Blow?"Kol questioned the trio who had been in the 1920's era.
"Blow means wild party, Kol, and Baby Vamp means a pretty or popular girl."Liah explained as they got in Klaus' car.
"Oh."Kol said while Elena blushed.
"Now, Elena, we're here to have fun, so don't be a Cancelled Stamp."Liah said, smiling at Elena as they came to stand in front of the doors leading to the .
"I am not a Wallflower!"Elena exclaimed, glaring at Liah, who had been teaching her and Kol a few words during the car ride to the school.
"You are when it comes to people your own age, Doll."Klaus said smartly.
"Beat it, Nik!"Elena snapped and Klaus laughed as he walked into the Dance while Elena glowered after him.
"Come on, Sweetheart, let's go and dance."Elijah said soothingly as they followed Liah and Kol inside.
"Fine."Elena huffed but let Elijah lead her onto the dance floor as That Man by Caro Emerald's was playing over the speakers.
Elena laughed as she quickly got the idea of how to dance with Elijah to the song. Since they came during the middle of the song, none of them were surprised when it ended so soon and was replaced with You Do Something To Me by Sinéad O'Connor.
"We need one of these songs at our Wedding."Elena giggled softly in Elijah's ear as they danced.
"Really?"Elijah asked, smirking.
"Something like this. Slow Jazz. I'm sure Rebekah and Liah would like it."Elena stated."And I know you like Jazz too."
"But do you like Slow Jazz?"Elijah asked, leaning back slightly to look down at Elena.
"I love all types of Jazz, Elijah. Slow, Fast."Elena shrugged."You can even ask Liah if you don't believe me."
"No, I believe you."Elijah reassured her before dipping her, followed closely by a gentle and slow twirl. As she came to a stop, she came face to face with Jeremy, who looked extremely upset.
"Jer?"Elena asked as Elijah paused, letting go of Elena's hand and came to stand next to her."What's wrong?"
"It's Alaric."Elena's eyes narrowed and she raised an eyebrow, telling him to go on."His Ring, it gave him a split personality, and Damon wants to kill him for good, saying it'll be a mercy kill."Elena's eyes widened and her jar dropped slightly in shock while Elijah frowned."There's gotta be something you can do, right?"
"I..."Elena trailed off, trying to think but came up with nothing. She had never heard of something like that happening before."I don't know, Jeremy."Looking at Elena with a devastated look in his eyes, Jeremy quickly turned and left the GYM."Jeremy!"Elena exclaimed before looking up at Elijah.
"Go after him."Elijah said calmly and Elena gave him a quick peak on the cheek before running after Jeremy, who headed out to the front doors of the school, and saw him and Emily up ahead.
"Jer, stop!"Emily called out to Jeremy, who whirled around to face them, glaring.
"This is Alaric we're talking about."Jeremy said, getting Emily's face as Elena came to a stop next to Emily, watching Jeremy warily."Now, he looked out for us. We need to do the same for him."
"No one's gonna hurt him."Emily said gently as she looked up at Jeremy, who scoffed along with Elena, who Emily glared at, before he started to walk away again."Hey!"Emily jogged ahead of Jeremy and came to stand in front of him while Elena hanged back."Hey. Look at me."Jeremy looked down at Emily."I promise."Emily said sincerely.
"Emily."Came a familiar voice and Elena froze, slowly dragging her gaze away from her Siblings and saw Esther."If you wish to help your friend Alaric, I suggest you come with me."Esther said when Emily turned to face Esther.
"Jeremy, go inside and get Stefan and Damon. Now."Emily said seriously and Jeremy looked between Esther, Emily, and Elena, who nodded.
"You might also wanna get Elijah."Elena said and Jeremy took off as soon as Elena finished her sentence.
"I mean you no harm."Esther said calmly before Elena stepped in front of Emily protectively and growled deep within her throat, her eyes flashing between yellow and amber fire. She wasn't being protective to Emily out of the kindness of her heart, she was doing this for Jeremy and Klaus, seeing as Klaus needed Doppelganger and she'd never hear the end of it."But willingly or not, you will come, Emily."Esther stated, completely ignoring Elena, before she turned to walk away.
Eyes narrowed, Emily went to follow after her."Are you crazy?"Elena hissed out. Elena went to grab Emily by the arm, only to hit a Barrier and looked down to see salt before looking up and cursed under her breath when she didn't see Esther or Emily anywhere in sight. Elena glanced over her shoulder when she heard the sound of people speed walking towards her."No, wait-!"Elena winced when the Salvatore Brother's banged into the the Barrier while Jeremy walked straight through, and Elijah paused beside her and hid his amusement."Barrier."Elena said at the same time Stefan said;"Salt. It's a Binding agent for a Spell."
"We're trapped here."Damon said and Elena and Elijah rolled their eyes in unison.
"State the obvious much."Elena said in a snarky voice."Do you think Liah will be able to Siphon this?"Elena asked, turning to Elijah.
"I'll go get her."Elijah said before Vamp-Speeding away and came back with not only Liah but Kol as well.
"Oh bloody hell."Kol exclaimed after taking one look at the salt circle they were trapped in."Let me guess, a Binding agent for a Spell?"Kol asked and Elena nodded.
"I won't be able to do this."Liah said, looking at the salt.
"What? Why not!?"Damon demanded, stepping closer to Liah in a threatening way, but he forgot that Liah was the actual threat here, not him.
"Because I'm only one Witchpire!"Liah snarled at Damon, making him back off.
"Yes you can, Liah."Elijah said softly, getting everyone's attention.
"Elijah-You know you can do it, you just have to take a little Magic at a time, remember? You did it once before."Elijah cut Kol off and kept his eyes firmly on Liah, who glanced at the Barrier as if it could kill her, before taking a deep breath.
"Ok."Liah said softly."Move Salvatore's."Liah said in a more stronger voice and Damon and Stefan moved out of the way. Stepping towards the Barrier, Liah placed her hands on said Barrier.
"What exactly is your Sister?"Stefan asked, seeing Liah's hands glow a red colour.
"A Witchpire."Kol, Elena, and Elijah said in unison.
"Yeah, but how is that possible?"Stefan asked.
"My twin wasn't born a normal Witch. That's all you need to know."Kol said, giving Stefan and Damon a dark look, silently warning them to stop asking questions.
The group turned when they heard Klaus walking towards them, having heard him leaving a voice message for Rebekah, and glanced from them to the salt then back.
"What is this?"Klaus questioned his Brothers, Liah, Jeremy, Elena, and the Salvatore's in a deadly calm voice.
"This is the work of our not so dead Mother."Kol gritted out."And she's taken your precious Doppelganger."
"What?"Klaus snarled.
"Nik, go have a temper tantrum elsewhere, I'm trying to focus."Liah snapped, glaring over her shoulder at Klaus.
"What are you doing? People could see you!"Klaus exclaimed softly.
"No, the Humans can see and hear us chatting about normal Humans things, like the weather."Liah retorted, having done an Illusion Spell on herself and anyone who either was a Supernatural or knew of the Supernatural.
"Clever, Little Sister."Klaus said proudly before looking at the others."Well, why are you all just standing around watching Liah?"Klaus questioned them."Do you know where Esther is?"No one answered him."Then,"Klaus gently grabbed Elena by the arm."let's find her."
Elijah quickly pulled Elena out of Klaus' grip and glared at him but everyone, except Kol and Liah, followed him to Alaric's Classroom, grabbing Bonnie and Jamie on the way, and took a map of Mystic Falls as well. When they were in the Classroom and had set up the map and the candles, which Alaric kept in his Classroom, and Elena Magically lit said candles as Elijah went to bite into his wrist but Elena stopped him.
"No."Elena said sharply, causing Elijah to look at her."This is Esther, she's most likely Cloaked herself and the only people we'll find on this map related to her will be Liah, Kol, and Rebekah."
"So then how do we find Esther, Bitch-Witch."Klaus' eyes flashed yellow and Elijah growled at Damon.
"We use my blood. Esther properly thinks that Klaus will be so focused on her, that he'd want me to try and locate her instead of my own blood."Elena stated, ignoring the insult."Man Whore."She added and smirked when Damon glared at her, but didn't dare try to attack her."Elijah..."Elena trailed off, holding out her wrist for Elijah to take and bite into.
Elijah softly took Elena's wrist in his, his fangs extending and gently pierced her skin, drawing her blood, which dripped onto the map while staring at her. For a Witch to even think of allowing a Vampire to bite them without the Vampire trying to drain them dry was a clear sign of trust. The moment Elena's blood touch Elijah's taste-buds, it took everything in Elijah not to drain her dry. Her blood was sweet and ripe. Deliciously sweet. The smell of it was just as intoxicating. It was sweet like nectar and true to Elena's words, she was a virgin.
Well, in one aspect, she was now still a virgin. But it wasn't just that. But also because she was a Witch and their blood was sweet, but not as sweet or even ripe as Elena's was. But her blood also burned. Not in a bad way. It was a very good burn. Like a burning flame of desire. A pure and sweet form of desire. Slowly retracting his fangs, Elijah pulled away and let go of her wrists, silently asking her if she was alright.
"That wasn't disgusting at all."Jamie muttered sarcastically and Bonnie nodded in agreement with him, pursing her lips and glaring at Elijah.
Nodding to Elijah, Elena ignored her bleeding wrist and turned her attention to the map."Phasmatos Tribum Nas Ex Veras,"Elena's blood moved and form a puddle before it started to moved again, only this time, in a line."Sequita Saguines, Ementas Asten Mihan Ega Petous."Elena watched as the blood slowly moved away from the school."Phasmatos Tribum Nas Ex Veras-"Elena was cut off from continuing the Spell when Matt came running into the room.
"Liah said that she's not even half way through getting the Barrier down, apparently Esther must have put a lot of Magic into the Barrier to keep Liah distracted,"Elijah and Klaus frowned, knowing that Liah was right."knowing that it would take her some time, but people are walking right out of the dance, past the Barrier."Matt explained, panting heavily from the run
"If Matt and I can leave, we can stop Esther ourselves. Can you find Emily any faster?"Jeremy demanded before wincing at his own tone and the glare Elena gave him.
"First of all, Emily's not the only Doppelganger alive, so I'm trying to solely locate her without accidently tapping into the Mystical Blood Properties and locate Katherine as well."Elena explained, huffing as her eyes changed colour, becoming pure amber flames for a moment and the flames of the candles flared up."And secondly, that's suicide, Jeremy. You're Human and Esther's a real Witch. She'll kill you without having to even think about it."Jeremy grimaced at that.
"Agreed. That is suicide."Stefan stated, frowning at Jeremy."Elena, could you...?"
"Phasmatos Tribum Nas Ex Veras,"Elena started chanting again."Sequita Saguines, Ementas Asten Mihan Ega Petous."Elena paused when she saw her blood struggling to go any further."Esther's Cloaked herself but she hasn't Cloaked Emily, however she is fighting to try and Cloak Emily from me."Elena said, looking up everyone.
"How does she even have that much power anyway?"Damon asked, eyes narrowed."We cut the connection between her and Bonnie's Bloodline, so how can she even create such a Barrier if she's weak?"
"She's Channelling something else."Elijah spoke up and everyone look at him but he was looking back at Klaus."A hot spot."
Klaus' eyes widened briefly in realisation."Get your Human's ready."Klaus looked at everyone else."I know where she is."
"Klaus-Do you want to die, Elena?"Klaus cut Elena off and she pursed her lips.
"Esther is plotting our deaths and as much as I hate to admit it, our only hope to survive this is with using the Human's here"Klaus gestured towards Matt and Jeremy."as a distraction until Liah can get us out."
Elena sighed and glanced at Jeremy."Be careful."
Jeremy smiled at her."I will."He said before he and Matt took off in a run as soon as Klaus told them where Esther was Channelling her hot spot.
The group followed after the two Humans, with Elijah and Elena at the back of said group. Elijah wanted Elena to heal faster, so he made her drink his blood before they caught up with everyone, and Stefan split from the group, saying that he should tell Caroline and Tyler what was going on.
"How far along are you from getting rid of this pesky Barrier?"Klaus asked Liah, raising an eyebrow at her.
"I'm almost done."Liah said, looking annoyed."I really hate our Mother."
"Well, I hate Stefan."Klaus said, turning to glare at Stefan, along with Elijah and Kol, who had come out of the School."You know, this is your fault."Klaus stated."You set us on this path when you released our Mother. I wonder if revenge will prove worth the cost."
"Oh, I'm done with revenge."Stefan retorted."As far as Esther"Stefan looked away from Klaus."we've stopped her before."He looked back at everyone and shrugged slightly."We'll stop her again."
"We are strange bedfellows, you and I."Klaus stated, smiling and gestured to the school."All of this reminds me of our time together in the 20's."
Stefan chuckled wearily."You say that like I'm suppose to have happy memories about it."
"Well, there were moments."Klaus' eyes narrowed."Real friendship. Brotherhood."
"Well, he already has a Brother."Damon stated, walking to Stefan's side."Not to be, you know, territorial or anything."
"Oh, no, of course. The Salvatore's and their unshakeable bond."Klaus said sarcastically and Elena rolled her eyes, Elijah had his pokerface on, but you could see the annoyance in his eyes, and Kol shook his head."I wonder what will happen when Emily finally makes her choice."Klaus looked between them."Will we see you shake just a little bit?"Klaus asked curiously.
"Alright, stop being such a dick, Klaus and let's got."Liah stated as her hands stopped glowing before she, Kol, Klaus, and Elijah, who took Elena's hand in his, Vamp Sped away.
"Jeremy!"Elena ran over to her Little Brother and hugged him, which he returned and buried his face into the crook of Elena's neck, his shoulders shaking slightly."What happened?"Elena asked, realising Jeremy was trying not to cry.
"Esther tried to turn Alaric into some sort of weapon."Jeremy mumbled softly so that only Elena heard him, but it was obvious that everyone heard him."But she failed."
"Oh..."Pulling away, Elena looked at the others."You guys go back to the Mansion. I'll be back soon."Elena said just as Damon appeared.
Klaus, who had already picked up Esther's body, nodded."Don't need to tell me twice."Klaus grumbled.
Klaus Vamp-Speeding away, followed closely by the twins, who looked at their best friends worriedly, obviously wondering what was going on but would ask later. Elijah however didn't move from his spot and looked between the two Gilbert Siblings questionably, as if he knew that Jeremy was hiding something.
"I'll be fine. Go on."Elena waved away Elijah's concern.
"I'll see you back at the Mansion."Elijah said softly, as though he didn't want to leave Elena's side, before Vamp-Speeding away.
"Damon's here."Jeremy said as soon as the duo caught sight of him and Elena."And the Originals left with Esther's body."Jeremy partly lied.
"Do they know about the Stake?"Alaric asked before remembering that Elena was currently Team Mikaelsons and winced.
"No."Jeremy said in amusement."Only that she tried to turn you into a weapon and failed."Alaric looked away from Elena and Jeremy.
"Give me the stake."Elena suddenly stated in a cool voice."And no one will get hurt anymore then they already were tonight."
"No."Emily said and Elena's eyes narrowed.
"Excuse me? You know a tough act doesn't suit you Emily."Elena said to Emily coldly, giving her a dark look.
"I said no. Besides, now's not the time, Elena."Emily stated firmly trying to sound brave before grimacing.
"What's going on?"Jeremy asked.
"Listen, Jeremy, Elena."Alaric looked back at them, his eyes hard."I'm not going to complete the Transition."Jeremy's eyes widened while Elena frowned."My Dark Side was dangerous enough as a Human. I can't be a Vampire."Alaric explained and Elena nodded in understanding.
"So what? We're gonna lock you in here and let you die?"Jeremy asked sarcastically and when no one said anything, he realised that he had basically said what they wanted to do."No! No, we can't."
"Listen, Jeremy, it's the right thing to do."Alaric said sternly."Ok? After everything that's happened, after..."Alaric trailed off."After all that I've done... Maybe I had it coming."
"Hey, wait, Jer."Emily said softly when Jeremy went to leave, and was stopped by Elena, who slightly pushed her back while Jeremy paused."Alaric, this isn't your fault."Emily said, side glaring at Elena.
"Please, you guys, let's not make this any harder then it already is."Alaric stated, glancing between them."You three should go."Emily looked unsure."Damon's here. He'll make sure it'll go down the right way."Elena crossed her arms as she turned away and started to follow Jeremy."Hey. Hey."He called out to the oldest and youngest Gilbert Siblings.
"Don't."Jeremy snapped."Don't give us some crap speech about how I need to be the man of the house."
"Or how I should stop being around the Mikaelsons and go back to looking out and caring for Emily when she never has done the same for me."Elena added, frowning up at Alaric while Emily glared at her.
"Ok."Alaric said gently, looking at Elena mainly in regret."I won't."He added, bringing them into a gentle and warm embrace."I'm so sorry, Elena. I should have done something."He mumbled to Elena before letting them go and Jeremy quickly took off.
"It's ok. It wasn't your problem to begin with or to solve."Elena said gently before running after Jeremy."Jeremy, wait up!"Elena called out to Jeremy, who glanced back at her."Come with me to the Mikaelson Mansion?"
"Ok."Jeremy muttered and the two of them left the old part of the cemetery.
Walking into the Mansion, the duo headed to the living room, they found four of five Originals sitting around. Elijah was up and by Elena's side in an instant, hugging her to his side as he guided her over to the couch while Kol patted the seat in between him and Liah for Jeremy to sit down.
"Where's Rebekah?"Elena asked, looking around for the female blonde
"Waking up."Klaus stated.
"Nope. I'm up."Everyone turned to find Rebekah glaring at them."Why are you all dressed up? Did I miss the Dance? What happened to me?"Rebekah questioned them.
"You were possessed by Mother, who fooled Nik and us into going to the Dance and then had your body Daggered so that she could return to her own body and turned Alaric Saltzman into Mikael 2.0."Liah summarised.
"What?"Rebekah choked out, eyes wide.
"Don't worry, Alaric's not gonna turn."Jeremy stated and Liah grabbed his hand in hers and gave said hand a small squeeze.
