Chapter 36

Chet Ubet.

Just a young upstart in his political career, but it took off thanks to Garou and those who despised him! He was a young man for a Politician, his blond hair was slicked back to make him appear more professional. If anything, he was more like a used car salesman.

For years, he has been trying to push the notion that a monster is a monster, no matter who they are or how they act. He gained some momentum a few years back with than help of Gus Limbo, yet he ended up killing the gains he got when he interview Snek and got caught up in his own lies. So for the time being, he kept his movement to grass roots. Not really taking in a lot of followers until the Neo Heroes began to show up.

When they started to confront the Heroes Association and then bring about their downfall. Chet smelled an opportunity. "The wait has finally paid off!" he said to himself one day. Since then, he began to advertise.

Loud and proud he decreed that those who were called 'M Class Heroes' are not heroes at all. "It was all for the sake of saving face from the Heroes Association! With that gone, they are no better than the monsters who attack our streets! That protection and privilege is now gone!" he announced one day to the masses.

But a wrench was thrown into his plans, thanks to one Alley Brawler. She has made a new hero place of work, merely calling it the Association. But it was how she ran it.

There were no ranks for heroes to climb and gain, everyone was considered an equal, even those who were no better than mere C Class would be treated with the same respect as an S Class. She has made heroes work together from various ranks, and ensured they all were kept in line with good pay and also advance equipment.

Not that the Neo Heroes didn't offer such a thing. Yet he couldn't understand why. Why did heroes stay with her and her monster family and not turn sides?

It bothered him to no end, he went as far as seeking out friends of the heroes, but only got one reply back. A crazed scientist by the name of Fink, he was a good friend to one Metal Knight. "Garou… Garou KILLED HIM!" were the first words out of Fink's mouth when Chet asked him to join forces to take down such a monster. "I know he did, Metal Knight would never back down from the likes of a boy like him! Where could he have gone that I wouldn't know about? A great mind like his is not to be wasted! But it's too late, Garou took him from this world, and I tried to fix it… but those damn cyborgs…"

"Cyborgs?"

Fink froze. "You know, Street and Knuckle Brawler… they were cloned and then turned into cyborgs! No one truly knows their origin, I have seen them up close and know they are not made from this world… worst still, the military trusts Garou's spawn!" he said and went off the subject.

Chet knew that all too well.

He has been battling with the head of the military to take action against Garou's family, but he has refused. "They have protected the people far faster and greater than the pervious heroes association. They keep damage to a minimum, if this family truly were monsters, I have little doubt there would be great casualties and significant damage."

He has been blinded by the vixen in charge. That mere monster freak of a woman has the military wrapped around her finger!

Chet knew Fink would be of great use, however he had to get him back down to earth. Medication was enough to calm the good doctor down as he then insisted they work together to get rid of Garou and his family. "They are acting as if they are human beings, this cannot go on any more. Doc, let's make sure they never recover from this, let's make it that they are the ones who are causing the trouble and damage!" he insisted.

Fink agreed. "Let me see if I can call up a few friends of mine, perhaps they will have input."

In that time, Chet also had Fink make him the robot security guards. They were good at their job no doubt, however the incident between Alley Brawler and Suiryu made it hard to smooth over. They did act out, fire into a crowded restaurant and people would have been killed had it not been for Miss Brawler.

It still made him sick though that she displayed her power so effortlessly, and destroyed his robot in seconds without trying.

In the days that followed, Fink managed to get in contact with a fellow scientist who suggested that they attack the family indirectly. "Chet, look at this!" Fink called.

Chet approached the doctor on his laptop and showed him some data. He couldn't make sense of any of it, but Fink explained. "We have a way of making this family appear like the monsters they are!" he said with glee.

"Oh?"

"My friend here has done tests, there are various components to it, however we can use this to our advantage! We can make them attack the cities and they won't control themselves!"

Chet began smiling from ear to ear. "Well, what are you waiting for! MAKE IT!" he ordered.

Fink got to work right away, Chet continued on his political tour to get more support.

He got the Neo Heroes, that's for sure. After all, he is going to use them to get rid of Garou's family! But then again, why use Neo Heroes when he could have control over the military! Lt. Cane for one, he had to get rid of him first, and then, he has to ensure that the one who replaces him, will listen and take orders.

There was just the man for the job too!

Chet has a friend in said military, one rather high up in the ranks who never liked Lt. Cane at all! He has wanted the M Class destroyed for years, but has never been able to go through with it due to the chain of command. Chet knows if he can get rid of Cane, he can get his man in the top position. Even if it is for a little while, he can have the people see he will 'protect them' from great threats.

Things were falling into place, and it won't be long now until action is taken.

"Uh… Chet… you seeing this?" one of his campaign men called.

They turned on the TV.

It was breaking news and getting a lot of attention.

Apparently, one Melee Brawler was out shopping, when one of his supporters decided to take action.

He tried to run her over in his car!

Chet froze as the scene displayed Melee on the ground, yet she was buffered by one Lightning Max who protected them as best he could with those freak tentacles he possesses. He used the strange limbs as a cage around them. "People on the scene say the car came out of nowhere, and aimed for Miss Brawler. She couldn't get out of the way in time, yet Lighting Max threw himself in front of the car while trying to buffer Melee Brawler. She has been take to hospital in serious condition, she was also pregnant and fear that her water broke…"

"Maybe we will have one less freak to worry about…" Chet snickered, but paused as he saw it.

A massive looking man with a punk hair cut. He just landed on the scene and took it all in, then, his eyes bore down on the man who was in handcuffs and being detained by police. He approached the car that was used, and then suddenly… it flatted! The car was smashed in a flash by the mere spread of his hand! "What the hell…"

"That's the cyborg I warned you about, one of them… that Knuckle Brawler, Melee's older brother." Fink explained.

The scene only grew startling as Knuckle then peeled the car off the ground, rolled it up and then crushed it into a ball before dropping it to the ground before the man who struck his sister. The camera got in close enough to hear his words. "You better get jail time… if not… I am gonna find a car… put you in it… and do it again!" he warned.

Chet froze.

"My God… we have to get him on our side! We would be unstoppable!"

Fink nodded. "I am working on that too, give me time, and I swear to you, everything will fall into place accordingly. However, my friend who is sharing his information as a request of his own."

"Oh? Business man is he? What does he want?"

Fink looked to the screen. "We take out Garou and his family, however, the so called 'sweet six' he wants."

Chet paused and thought it over. "The sweet six?" he asked in a confused tone.

"Six heroes who appeared a lot like Amai Mask, however, those who have been encountered, claim to be the sons of Garou. Either way. My friend wants them as payment for this information. This is doable isn't it?"

The grin only grew on his face. "How could I refuse? Doc, tell him it's a deal!"

Fink nodded. "Ooo I just got another inquiry… this one we can make a bullet that will kill the children and Garou himself with a single shot… I will start production right away!"

"Wait, how can they know that?"

Fink looked over the information, but nodded. "They have the data to back it up and they are taking into account other incidents and moments where Garou and his family have been harmed, he made an algorithm that I think will work perfectly! It's worth a try, if not we will have other means of killing them."

Chet agreed. "Get started Doc, you are going to be one busy man!"
