So this if the final chapter for now. I might add to it later. I hope you like it and stick around as I might do other Star Trek stories. Thanks for reading.

"We're fine down here." Came an answer from the transporter room.

The bridge breathed a sigh of relief. Now they knew their Doctor and Captain were safe, they could focus on what they were going to do about the ship in front of them.

"That's great news Captain. We'll see you back on the bridge." Saru answered.

"Heard." Came the answer.

Saru turned the communicator off. Now he knew that Pike was safe, he could focus on other things.

"Right, have we finally got an answer about what the ship is?"

"Yes sir." Michael answered him.

"Good news or bad news?"

"Bad. It's the USS Wheeler sir."

The bridge looked around at each other. The ship in front of them was one of the best ships in the entire fleet and now it was a wreak right in front of them.

"It can't be!" Saru said.

"I'm afraid it is sir." Stamets backed Michael.

"What the hell happened?"

Before anyone could give some kind of an answer, Pike appeared back on the bridge. Saru moved out of the captains chair.

"Thank you commander. What we got?"

"It's the USS Wheeler." Michael answered the captain.

"You're kidding."

"Nope." Michael said.

"Right. I need to send a message to Starfleet."

"Yes sir."

"You have the com Commander Saru."

"Yes sir."

Pike walked to his quarters. He knew this conversation was going to be interesting if Starfleet didn't know about the star ship that was now a wreck.

The doors opened to his quarters. He sat down behind the desk and turned on the communicator.

"I would like to talk to Admiral Archer please." He said into the communicator.

"Captain Pike?" Came the answer.

"Sir. I have some bad news about the USS Wheeler."

"What about it?"

"I'm afraid it's been attacked sir."

"How?"

"I don't know sir. I just wanted to tell you and see about what we were going to do about it."

"Right. Well someone needs to find out what happened."

"Yes sir."

"Well the Enterprise is busy and the other ships are busy too."

"Right. That only leaves…"

"You and your team."

"I'm sure we would be up for it sir."

"Good. You have your mission Captain Pike. Find out what happened."

"Yes sir."

"Archer out."

Pike ended the call. He sat back in his chair. It was stressful enough without having another mission put on top of this ship. Not to mention a mission into a badly damaged ship with a crew that everyone knew very well.

He needed to speak to the crew.

Pike walked to the bridge.

He entered the lift and went up.

The doors opened with a crew bustling around.

"Captain on the bridge."

"Thank you Commander."

"You look troubled sir." Tilly spoke up.

"There is something on my mind Ensign."

"Do you mind if I ask what?"

The crew turned to Pike to listen to him. Pike sat down in the chair he was so used to it.

"I've talked to Admiral Archer. He says Starfleet had no idea about Wheeler."

"At least it wasn't them then." Stamets piped up.

"He needs someone to look into what happened and he's asked us."

The crew looked around at each other. They knew if they took the mission, they would need to put everything into it.

"I'm just wondering if we should take it."

"I think we should." The bridge answered in various different answers.

"That's what I thought."

Pike smiled.

"Right. Let's get what we can from the wreckage and get out of here."

"Yes sir." The bridge answered.

Pike stared out of the screen towards the wreckage. Whatever faced the Discovery next, was going to be an adventure.
