Sewer System, Night
Crawling out from under the piles of rubble from the explosion that he had just caused, Oliver was sore and in pain. Still hearing ringing in his ears, he could only think of one thing. "Laurel? He said coughing as he got to his feet. "Laurel? Laurel!" He yelled looking through a hole in the debris.
Dig's Location
As he got to activate the trigger, Dig was kicked on his side to the ground. Looking up, he saw that is was Isabel dressed like Slade but with an open part to the bottom of her mask. "You killed me," Isabel said drawing her twin swords from her back. "Let me return the favor." Swinging her swords at him, Dig dodged her blades but she managed to catch the army vet off guard with a duo of kicks; then with a sidekick, hitting him in the gut pushing him back. "You can't kill me." She told him snidely.
"You're not invincible." Dig exasperated as he pulled out an extendable baton from his jacket.
"Close enough." She replied with an arrogant and crazed look as she then swung her swords as he deflected them with his baton.
Sewer System
"Laurel!" Oliver yelled.
"Oliver," Laurel said relieving him slightly.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"The tunnel collapsed. I'm trapped." She mentions laying on the ground. "And it's … it's getting really hard to breathe."
"You are gonna be okay." He told her. "I need you to tell me everything that you see."
"Rocks, and water and … and your bow." She caught in her eye at the last second.
"Do you see my quiver?" He asked.
"No." She crawled up clutching her side. "Wait. Yeah. Yes, I have it. I have it." She said grabbing the said item.
"How many arrows are in it?"
"There's a bunch of them." She told him and immediately realized something. "Wait, Ollie, I think I know what you're going to suggest right now."
"Use an explosive arrow to blow a hole wide open and get out. Yeah, that's exactly what I'm suggesting." He verified.
Dig's Location
Still blocking her sword strikes, Dig punched Isabel in the stomach and turned her around but that didn't phase her as immediately she shifted to attack again, and eventually flipped him on his back. "Do you wanna save me some time and energy and tell me where I can find Felicity Smoak?" Isabel asked as she approached him pointing one of her swords at him. "I have been aching to put a bullet in her smug little face ever since the day-"
But she immediately cut off, when a van, driven by Felicity ran into her dead on; knocking Isabel back several feet. "Oh, I really thought the airbags were gonna go off?" Felicity said surprised
Getting to his feet, Diggle grunted as he got into the van. "Thanks for the help. Any word from Oliver?" He asked.
"Dig?" She said lowly looking in front of her which he soon followed as they saw Isabel getting to her feet.
"What do you think? Hit her again?" She asked him in a hurried panic.
"Go, go, go!" He told her rapidly as she drove the van back in reverse. Then pulled around to drive away.
SCPD HQ
As Quentin was still dealing with a Mirakuru Soldier, he witnessed his fellow officers try to stop him with bullets and billy clubs. But it did nothing as this freak was making mincemeat of them, suddenly, he looked up from the ground and he saw the weapons storage unit. Grabbing something from the storage, Quentin then tackled him from behind and held on to him as best he could until the soldier threw him off.
"Get down! Get down!" Quentin yelled as he looked at the pins from the grenades he had just removed. Looking down on the ground, the soldier saw the grenades but it was too late as the explosion effectively killing him. Quentin looked on and was glad to see that it was over.
City Hall
Various city officials were in a panic as various attacks were taken place from all over the city. Hospitals were being prepared for casualties, while Mayor Blood was playing his part trying to keep things as controlled as possible. "Governor. Sending the National Guard at this point will only cause mass hysteria." He told him over the phone. "Trust me and my police force. We have this situation under control."
"Mr. Mayor." Kate Spencer addressed him as she walked into his office.
"DA Spencer." He addressed her.
"What is going on? There are men in masks tearing through the city." She asked.
"Yes, I know. We're doing everything we can. The SCPD have mobilized." He told her.
"No. The police force, they're not equipped to handle this." She expressed. "You don't understand. I have never seen anything like this before. These men in masks, it's … it's like they're not human."
"Not human? Kate, do you even hear yourself?" He pointed out trying to calm her. "Look I know you're scared but you need to pull yourself together. Star City needs both of us thinking clearly right now.
"How are you so calm?" She wondered as the looked at a news report on the tv, as the streets were becoming more and more chaotic with tv officials warning the city's citizens to stay off the streets.
"Because I know we're going to get through this." He told her. "And when we do, Star City will be stronger and better for it. Can I count on you? I need you with me on this."
"Mm-hmm." She nodded reluctantly.
"Good." He replied. "Then let's save the city together."
Sewer System
"Are you far enough away from the debris to avoid the blast?" Oliver asked.
"As far back as I can be," Laurel told him.
"Remember, just like I taught you." He said loudly. "Aim for the middle."
"Okay." She yelled back. "Okay, okay, okay." She muttered to herself as Oliver backed off to get some distance. With the explosive arrow ready, Laurel counted down from 3 and then fired an arrow right at the center.
Looking up the hole, Oliver walked through it and saw Laurel still in one piece. Hugging one another tightly, Oliver looked at her. "Nice shot." He told her.
"Had a good teacher." She said then kissed him quickly on the mouth. Oliver then saw his quiver and Laurel handed him his bow, taking them both as he and Laurel left for the nearest exit.
"Dig, are you there?" He asked on comms.
"Yeah, Oliver, we hear you," Dig answered as Felicity was driving.
"We're coming up." He told him.
Train Station
As the Mirakuru soldiers was terrorizing the crowd, killing and hurting everyone in his path, Thea was among them trying to leave. As she came up to a locked door, she tried desperately to open it but a soldier came from behind her and grabbed her. Suddenly, two arrows were fired and imbedded in the soldier's back causing him to drop Thea and turned around as they both saw an archer dressed in dark black.
Pulling one of the arrows from his back, the soldier confronted the archer. "Who are you?" He asked but then soldier arrow detonated, with the explosion knocking the soldier down.
"I'm her father," Malcolm answered as he pulled off his mask and hood, as Thea looked on in surprise and in horror.
Streets of Star City
"Dad," Laurel said over the phone.
"Laurel. Oh, thank God." Quentin said in relief as the cops were dealing with the mess caused by the Mirakuru soldier. "Are you safe?"
"Yes, I'm with Oliver." She told him. "But we got a problem. We couldn't take out all of the soldiers, they're out on the streets."
"I know one of them came by nearly killed us all." He remarked.
"What? Are you okay?" She said worried as she and Oliver walked through the streets.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Something tells me that you and Oliver are going to be busy tonight."
Seeing helicopters fly over her and Oliver, she answered. "Your right about that." She said then hung up.
Felicity and Dig the drove up to the other duo in the van. "You okay?" Dig asked.
"Yeah," Laurel answered reluctantly as she saw fires occur throughout the city and air filled with emergency sirens and felt something stir inside her.
"You?" Oliver asked.
"Isabel attack Dig so I hit her with the van," Felicity responded quickly.
"Good job," Laurel remarked.
"Thank you," Felicity replied.
"Slade's army. He had at least 50 mean out there, all like him." Oliver recalled as he counted them all when he first arrived in the sewers.
"They're everywhere." Dig acknowledged.
"We need to stop them." Oliver reminded them.
"We might have a way." Felicity spoke up getting Laurel and Oliver's attention. "S.T.A.R. Labs called. They have a cure. There's a courier en route."
"Where is it?" Oliver asked lowly.
Elsewhere
As Felicity tried calling the S.T.A.R. Labs courier, he was struggling to get out of his car which had been flipped over and still holding the briefcase with the suitcase cuffed to his hand, he went to answer his phone. "Hello?" He asked fearfully.
"Hey, it's Felicity Smoak. Where are you?" She stated then put her phone on speaker.
"Fourth street, I think. I don't know what happened." The driver answered. "Some guy in a hockey mask came out of nowhere and attacked my car. Please help me."
"Stay where you are?" Oliver ordered.
"I don't think I could move if I wanted to." He replied in pain. "I think my leg's broken.
"You should go," Laurel told Oliver.
"What are you going to do?" Oliver asked her.
"Find Sin. Get her and as many people as I can to the precinct." She replied.
"Laurel, no." He said trying to stop her.
"Oliver, I don't need your help right now. Everyone else does." She reminded him. "So go and call me when you're ready for a counterattack. Go. Go save the city" She said and then left to help where she could.
"Hey, are you still there?" The driver asked.
"Yeah, I'm here. I pinged your phone." Felicity answered as she and guys got into the fan. "We're on our way."

Unknown to Felicity, Slade and Isabel had been listening in on her phone.
"Please hurry." The driver told them.
"Find him," Slade told one of his soldiers as the grunt left, leaving Slade was smug satisfaction on his face.
Streets of Star City
"In the last five minutes, SCPD has had over 200 reports of masked men attacking the city." Felicity filled the boys as Dig took over as the driver in the van, passing through the burning cars.
"I should've gone with Laurel." Oliver brought up from the back of the van. "Made sure she got to the precinct."
"Oliver, she kicks ass as well you and she'll be with her father. She'll be fine." Felicity told him and then looked straight at him. "She will, Oliver."

"Listen up. We're gonna establish a perimeter with checkpoints and create a safe zone." Quentin explained as his follow cops gathered around looking at the map he was showing.
"Who are these guys?" Lieutenant Pike asked him as he showed up.
"These guys are the enemy," Quentin answered.
"They're attacking innocents at random, creating mayhem and chaos," Pike told his men. "We need to put them down."
"Lieutenant." Quentin tried to get his boss's attention.
"Now!" Pike yelled.
"Listen, these guys, have you seen them? Huh?" Quentin argued slamming the mask of the soldier they took down on the table. "They do not go down. We gotta call in the National Guard."
"That's a call for the mayor and he hasn't made that yet," Pike informed him.
"And he won't. Mayor Blood let this happened." Quentin revealed to everyone.
"What?"
"Trust me. Blood's behind this." Quentin said.
"Look, even if I believe you, I don't have that kind of authority," Pike admitted.
"Well, in an emergency, the chief of police does, so get him on the line," Quentin told him.
"The chief's dead," Pike revealed and Quentin paused for a moment before speaking up again. "Well, there's only one more guy we could call. You're not gonna like it."
"The vigilante." Pike shrugged.
"The Green Arrow." Quentin corrected him. "Lieutenant, I know he's breaking the law. But what we're up against is not about the law. It's about survival. We got masks tearing our city to pieces. And we're gonna need a mask to stop them." He explained.
Pike looked down for a moment, but as he looked up he saw that all his remaining men weren't arguing with Lance's suggestion. In fact, they looked like they agreed with him. "Make the call." He told him.
"Okay, let's do it," Quentin told everyone after a quick nod as everyone scattered to go to work.
"One more thing," Pike said just as Quentin was about to leave. "You know more about what's going on over everyone else I got. I need you making decisions and leading these men." He said then placed a detective's shield in Quentin's hand. "Detective."
Taking his leave, Quentin thought to himself this was the last way he wanted to get promoted again.
Streets of Star City
Sin was running threw a crowd of people in the streets, scared out of their minds; she couldn't say she didn't feel the same. Making her way to an alley Sin felt her leather jacket being tugged on, and turned to see one of the masked thugs that were razing the city. Suddenly a pitch-sharp sound came from elsewhere, causing the Mirakuru Soldier and Sin to fall to their knees, clutching their ears in pain. Leaving the sonic device near the thug, Laurel grabbed Sin and shut a metal gate door behind them. Once getting to a safe distance, Sin looked at Laurel.
"Thanks for the save." Sin said loudly. "Though did you have to damage my hearing to do so?"
"Your welcome," Laurel replied sarcastically. "Come on we need to get somewhere safe."
"Safe? Laurel the whole city's gone crazy, you think there's actually a safe place in this hellhole?" Sin asked.
"It's safer than on the streets, now come on!" Laurel replied jerking her teenage friend by the hand as they headed from SCPD.
City Hall, Mayor's Office
As Blood and Spencer continued to watch the news about the City's situation becoming direr, the lights went off. Immediately the sounds of everyone in their office began screaming as the sounds of blades and gunshots occurred in City Hall. Suddenly the door was kicked open by a city official who was thrown by a Mirakuru soldier. Spencer gasped in fear once she saw him.
"Wait. Stop." Blood ordered the soldier as he was moving to the DA.
"No, no, no," Spencer said as the soldier grabbed her.
"Enough!" He yelled and the soldier paused for a second. "This isn't part of the plan." He reminded him.
"Sebastian?" She said confused.
"I am mayor of Star City and I order you to let her go." He demanded, but the soldier instead snapped a whimpering Spencer's neck, killing the district attorney.
"No." He sighed as Spencer's body dropped to the floor.
"I don't take orders from you." The soldier told him.
For a second, Blood worried if the soldier was going to kill him as well but instead left. "No." Blood said to himself as he looked on at Spencer.
Streets of Star City
"Any word from Thea?" Dig asked Oliver driving through the streets filled with wreckage. "Is she safe?"
"She decided to leave Star City before the attack started," Oliver informed him.
"Just over two miles to the bridge and the courier," Felicity said checking her phone. Immediately her phone began ringing and give it to Oliver. "It's for you."
"What is it, detective?" Oliver said seeing that it was Lance using his voice modulator.
"Oliver you know, that I know it's you right?" Quentin asked dryly as Oliver briefly forgot. "Now, how can we help?"
"We?"
"Star City Police is standing with you on this one." Quentin cleared up.
"We need help containing the soldiers," Oliver asked. "We're working on something and it may stop them, but we need more time."
"We can do that," Quentin assured him. "Whatever you're doing, good luck. For all our sakes."
Hanging up the phone, Felicity spoke up. "This is the street that feeds into the bridge." She said and Dig made a hard left turn, while Oliver caught sight of a Mirakuru soldier running after them.
"Floor it!" Oliver ordered and Dig followed passing the soldier but cars on the street were too close together that it began slowing them down just enough for what followed. Seeing a car, another soldier pushed it into the center of the street.
"Hold on!" Dig yelled and the van crashed into the car, flipping the van on its left side.
As the soldiers slowly approached the van, Oliver checked on his partners. "Dig?" He grunted. "Diggle?"
"Yeah, yeah," Dig grunted. "Ah, yeah."
"Is she breathing? Oliver asked noticing Felicity was out cold and laying on Dig.
"Felicity," Dig asked her and checked her pulse, aside from the nasty cut on her forehead she was alive. "Yeah. Yeah." He told Oliver.
"We have to get out of here," Oliver stated.
"Yeah, I'm on it." Dig replied and kicked the broken window in front of them. Dragging Felicity out, Oliver soon followed Dig as the soldiers arrived at the van. Drawing an explosive arrow, Oliver shot it inside the van. Just as the soldiers opened the backdoor, the arrow exploded, knocking them both out. Limping away, Oliver approached the two and carried Felicity in his arms as they left the scene.

Thea was running away as fast as she could, eventually, she saw a gun next to a deceased cop and hide behind a support pillar. Following her to this location, Malcolm came to a stop searching for his daughter.
"Thea." He said out loud looking for her. "I'm not here to hurt you."
"Why should I believe you?" She yelled sniffling in fear. "You're a murderer. A terrorist and psychopath."
"I don't expect you to understand what I've done." He deflected her statements. "Not now. Not without more time to explain."
"How are you even alive?" She asked slightly erratic. "Why are you here?"
"I heard what happened to your mother. I needed to make sure you were all right." He answered from a distance. "I needed to see my daughter."
"I am not your daughter!" She proclaimed strongly facing him as she came out of her hiding spot. "You're nothing to me. And I want nothing from you. Do you understand?"
"Yes. But right now, you need my help." He told her and reluctantly she listened. "My protection. You have no idea, Thea, how dangerous it is out there. The city is falling at least let me take you to safety." He begged and extended his hand, causing Thea to freeze.

From what was once, Oliver's office, Slade stared at Star City as it continued to burn in flames. Isabel then walked up behind him to also gaze at its destruction. "They say Nero sang … as he watched Rome burn," Slade told her. "Now I understand why. If only Shado were here to witness this."
"Who's Shado?" Isabel turned her head to ask.
"What the hell is going on?" Blood asked barging into Slade's office, though only Isabel paid him attention. "One of your juiced-up jackboots just killed my entire office staff and snapped the district attorney's neck." He explained.
"And?" Slade muttered coldly.
"And? And I never agreed to this." Blood replied in disbelief. "You were supposed to call off your dogs?"
"That was your plan, Mr. Blood, not mine," Slade stated.
"We had a deal." Blood reminded as he stepped forward causing Slade to turn around.
"And do you feel that I've not lived up to my end of it?" Slade asked walking towards Blood.
"Those are innocent people." Blood worked up to say, still frightened of Slade. "Dying out there. You do not need to kill them."
"Yes, I do!" Slade shouted in his face. "I made a promise to someone once, and I will uphold it."
Blood, shake his head slightly in disbelief. "So this really is all about you just trying to hurt Oliver Queen?" He asked with Isabel and Slade noticing that he now knew the truth about his nighttime activities.
"I vowed to him that I would take away everything … and everyone he loves." Slade revealed. "And he loves this city."
"But this city … it's mine too." Blood reminded him.
"Not anymore. As of tomorrow night, it'll be nothing but rubble, ash, and death. A land only good for one thing." Slade explained returned to watch the city go up in flames. "Graves." He finished leaving Blood horrified at what he got involved in.

Coming out of an alleyway, Laurel and Sin came across a dead police officer in front of them. Seeing him on the hood of his police car, Laurel quickly moved to check on him. Feeling his pulse, Laurel sadly noticed that he was already dead. "No, pulse," Laurel said stressfully and immediately began chest compressions as Sin looked on growing worried. "Come on! Come on!" Laurel yelled.
"Laurel stop!" Sin told her and tried to pull her off the dead cop but Laurel just pushed her aside. Taking a more forceful approach, Sin grabbed her friend hard and yanked her off, but immediately Laurel tried to get back to him by struggling. "Laurel. Laurel stop! Stop. He's dead." She reminded her and Laurel paused for a moment before finally relenting. Walking away from her, the vigilante-lawyer took a seat on the streets. "Laurel, what the hell was of that?" She asked.
"I was trying to save him, Sin." Laurel shot back.
"He was already dead and last time I checked, you're not Jesus." Sin mentioned.
"Your right, he'd be doing a better job at saving this city than I am." Laurel agreed. "This ... Sin look at this! All of this. It's happening again ... and I can't stop it. Once again I can't stop it." She said tearing up, her voice filled with despair.
"Laurel."
"This ... all of this." Laurel started to say but struggling too. "I did all of this so that something like this ... like the Quake would never happen again. I put on this stupid mask, this stupid wig, and this stupid outfit ... and for what?" She asked Sin as she pulled off the said items and threw them on the ground; except her black suit. "So that I can watch my city suffer again. It ... it was all for nothing wasn't it?" She cried.
"Don't say that Laurel!" Sin pleaded as knelt down.
"Why not?" Laurel asked.
"Because as bad as it is ... that this city is going to hell again ... you ... you giving up ... that would be almost as bad." Sin told her and Laurel found herself listening. "Look, Laurel ... I don't believe heroes. I just believe that people either care or they don't. And you, you care more than anyone I have met. So, do me a favor and don't stop caring."
"And why shouldn't I?" Laurel asked.
"Because there aren't enough people in the world that do ... and more because that's just not who you are." Sin answered.
Wiping her tears, Laurel eventually got and Sin followed. "So ... did you practice that speech in the mirror?" She asked sarcastically.
"Shut up." Sin commented as she hugged her.
Later on, Laurel and Sin continued to move across the streets to get to the police station. Immediately, Laurel's phone rang. "It's my dad," Laurel answered. "Hello?"
"Laurel, baby, where are you?" Quentin asked. "You said you were coming by."
"55th and Alfred. There are a few roadblocks." She said looking around.
"But you're okay?" He asked again.
"Yeah. I had to save a friend." She said looking at Sin.
"Okay, stay there both of you. I'm on my way." He hung up to leave.
Streets of Star City
"I can walk now," Felicity told Oliver as they walked on the bridge on-foot with Dig in front of them.
"Where is he?" Oliver asked her.
"His cell phone's GPS says he should be within a 500-foot radius." She told him as she was checking her. "I'll call him."
"Hey. Where are you?" The driver asked after answering his phone.
"We're here. Where are you?" She told him. "Honk your horn."
"Cool. Hold on." The driver grunted in pain and pressed his horn with the leg that still worked. "Wait, I can see your foot." He noticed. "You're right outside my car."
"That's not us." She answered and then immediately heard his screams over the phone.
Running towards his location, Oliver, Felicity, and Dig came too late. The driver was dead and the briefcase that contained the cure had been taken as well.
"Oh, no," Felicity exclaimed.
"It's gone," Oliver said sourly as three looked around in vain hoping to find it.

In QC's conference room, Slade and Blood continue to watch and listen to news reports to Star City's situation becoming more and more chaotic. "Mr. Wilson. Is this what you're looking for?" The soldier said and give the briefcase filled with the cure to Slade.
"Yes, it is," Slade replied as he gazed at viral samples. While Blood watched as the city he loved burn made up his mind about what to do next.
The Clocktower
Oliver watched sadly as he listened to Felicity talk about their current options. "We just got off the phone with Cisco at S.T.A.R. Labs." She told him.
"The cure they sent us was all they had." Dig finished for her. "And they used all the Mirakuru we gave them. So they can't make more."
"We can't stop Slade's men without the cure," Oliver said to them.
"We'll find another way." Dig said lowly.
"There is no other way." Oliver shot back loudly and Felicity grew worried about his current state mind. "The foundry's been compromised. We need to get Roy out of there."
"I'm on it." Dig nodded then left.
"I didn't know. Felicity." Oliver said catching her attention as she started to tear up. "Five years ago, I was a completely different person, and I had … no idea that something like this was even … possible. I couldn't have imagined. When you and Diggle brought me back to this city … I made a vow to myself that I would never let anything … like the Undertaking happen again.
"What's happening now is not your fault." She told him quietly as she was crying a little.
"Yes, it is." He countered then faced her. "I have failed this city. Yao Fei, Shado, Sara, Tommy, My father, My mother. All that I have ever wanted to do is honor those people." He reflected as he walked closer to her.
"You honor the dead by fighting. And you are not done fighting." She said with rare aggression.
"Malcolm Merlyn, The Count, The Clock King, The Triad. Everyone who has tried to hurt this city you stopped them." She reminded him as got closer to him. "And you will stop Slade."
"I don't know how." He told her.
"Neither do I." She admitted. "But I do know two things. You are not alone. And I believe in you." She stated and after a brief second, hugged him, which he slowly started to return.
Streets of Star City
"Where's your Dad? He should be by now." Sin told Laurel.
"I don't know maybe he got held up," Laurel replied looking around and then the two women heard the sound of a car crash, catching their attention. "Stay here," She told Sin and went to the location, not knowing that Sin was already following her.
"Someone help!" A woman shouted from her broken car windows, her children in the backseat of the car. From her rearview, she could see the Mirakuru soldier that caused the car crash and he was approaching her. "Please, anybody!"
Suddenly, as if her prayers were answered a masked blonde woman came in front of her, behind her was a little goth teenager. Quickly, Laurel and Sin helped the woman and her children out of the car. As Laurel handed the little boy to Sin, she left and Laurel went to the pick up up the little girl who was out cold. As she picked the little girl up in her arms, the Mirakuru soldier appeared behind and shoved Laurel into a nearby car; the girl still in her arms. Her back hurting, Laurel looked at the little girl in her arms still out cold. Struggling to get up the soldier approached her but suddenly felt gunshots hit her back. The soldier and Laurel turned to see her father, Quentin, and female cop aiming their guns at him.
"Back off and stay away from them now!" Quentin yelled.
Ignoring his commands, the soldier charged them as they opened fire on him put the as did nothing he punched them both and sent them flying as Sin watched on from a close distance. Having left the girl on the ground, Laurel jumped on the back of the soldier choking him with her tonfa. But the soldier's superior strength knocked Laurel off of him effortlessly, sadistically the soldier went for the little girl on the ground. Getting a glimpse, Quentin and his fellow officer watched as the soldier repeatedly kicked Laurel as she was protecting the little girl. Eventually, Laurel activated a sonic device on her person. Shattering the glass around her and bringing the soldier to his knees, pushing through the pain, Quentin managed to unload a shotgun right into the soldier's face; killing him.
Seeing it was over, Laurel disarmed her device and her father helped her up. Walking over to the mother, she handed her little girl. "Here, here's your daughter," Laurel said shrugging in pain as gave her the child, alive and well. Laurel watched for a brief moment, before taking off.
Looking around for her daughter's rescuer, she asked. "Who was that?"
"That's the Black Canary," Sin said proudly as she and Quentin watched her from a distance.
Bus Station
"Thea, please. Come with me." Malcolm asked her again.
"I don't want anything to do with you," Thea stated once more crying. "I don't even see you."
Immediately, a Mirakuru soldier walked out of the train from behind them which Thea saw and Malcolm immediately picked up.
"Stay behind me." He told her and quickly turned around to fire an arrow in the soldier's liver; it did nothing as he grunted then pulled it out. Moving towards him, Thea watched as Malcolm dodged and deflected the soldier's punches. Malcolm gained the advantage as he continued striking him with his bow, he managed to deliver a push kick to gain some distance and rush him. But the soldier grabbed and rammed into a support beam causing his quiver to break and his arrows to fall on the floor.
"You're out of arrows." The soldier told him still holding him in a bear hug.
"You're not," Malcolm replied viciously as he grabbed the arrow from the soldier's back that he imbedded into him from earlier and thrust the arrow into his neck. Killing him and releasing Malcolm from his grip. Thea watched as Malcolm collapsed and while she hoped that he was dead, yet she couldn't but be impressed by what he had done.
The Clocktower
"Oliver," Felicity told him. "This is your phone." She gave it to him and he saw that it was Sebastian calling him. Pausing for a moment of skepticism, he decided to answer it.
"What do you want?" Oliver asked over the phone.
"The same thing you do, Oliver. To save this city before it's too late." Blood answered as he walking quickly.
"It's already too late," Oliver said flatly.
"You were right about Slade Wilson. I should have listened to you." Blood admitted as the elevator reached him. "But I'm here now and I can help you."
"Why should I trust you?" Oliver asked bitterly.
"Because, Oliver, I have the Mirakuru cure." Blood said looking at the briefcase in his hand as the elevator closed.
Later on, Dig and brought Roy to the clocktower and three laid him down. "How much animal tranq to we have to keep him under?" Oliver asked.
"Two hours, maybe," Dig answered checking the IV bag.
"Let's go," Oliver said grabbing his bow. "Hey. I need you to stay with Roy." He asked Felicity.
"Okay," Felicity replied looking at the young man. "Oliver. John." She spoke catching their attention. "Maybe this is obvious. Are we sure this isn't a trap?"
Glancing at one another they acknowledged this was a big gambit on their part. "No," Oliver said to her.
"I'm just saying if you guys don't come back alive, I'm gonna be really pissed." He stated causing the two smiled and chuckled in a rare moment from tonight. Patting her shoulder, Oliver and Dig left to meet the mayor.
City Hall
Arriving at City Hall, Oliver and Dig saw that it was a massacre as bodies were all over the floor. Making their way to Sebastian's office, Oliver removed his hood and turn his bow around. Dig, however, kept his gun right on the mayor instead.
"As a young boy, I was plagued by nightmares. Every night, I'd wake up in a cold sweat frightened and alone." Blood told them as Dig gradually lowered his weapon. "It was my father's face that haunted me. And this is how I saw him." He said and showed the two his skull mask. "The embodiment of desperation and despair. I made this mask to conquer my fears. And to remind myself why I fight … every day … to give this city's most desperate a chance. All I've ever wanted to do was help people, Oliver." He told his friend hoping he could somehow still understand him.
"Help me believe. Where's the cure?" Oliver asked cutting to point.
"Slade Wilson will not rest … until he honors the promise that he made you." Blood told him as he put his mask on his desk.
"I won't be so easy to kill once we level the playing field," Oliver told him.
"He's not interested in killing you." Blood corrected him. "Not until he's taken away everything and everyone you love."
"After he murdered my mother … he said one more person had to die." Oliver told him as he thought that person was himself.
"Whoever you love the most." Blood informed him of the answer. Going behind his desk, Dig instinctively aimed his gun at him once more but Blood simply pulled out the S.T.A.R. Labs briefcase he stole and showed it to them. "I hope you can beat him with this. For all our sakes." He hoped as Oliver took the briefcase from him. "And when this is over, I promise you, I will do everything in my power to rebuild Star City. And I won't just make it what it was I will make it better. Like I always planned."
"You really think … after everything that's happened … after what you've done … that they'll still let you be mayor?" Oliver asked dumbfounded by Blood's ignorance.
"Why not? No one knows that I've done anything except try to save this city." Blood reminded him. "And if you tell anyone about my mask, I will tell them about yours."
"Do what you have to, Sebastian," Oliver said making it clear he was not letting this go as he and Dig took their leave.
SCPD HQ
"Gotta say this is probably the first time I've just walked into a cop's station." Sin mentioned to Quentin who walked next to her.
"Yeah, I got that vibe from you." Quentin chuckled. "Didn't think this is how you and I would finally meet."
"Me neither, but it's pretty chill all thing considered." Sin remarked and then caught Laurel in front of them.
"Hey, you okay." Sin asked.
"One of the few benefits of this life, you build up a high pain threshold fast. I'll be fine." Laurel winced.
"All right, sweetheart. I gotta get back to it." Quentin said after a light hung.
"You wouldn't believe it. The blonde in a mask, the Black Canary. She took so many blows from one of those mask freaks, just save a little girl." The female cop was gossiping to another officer. "It was the bravest thing I've ever seen. This city could use more heroes like her." She commented as three overheard their conversation, with Sin and Quentin looking particularly proud at Laurel.
Mayor's Office
Pouring himself a drink, Sebastian was interrupted by Isabel walking into his office. "You gave it to him, didn't you?" She asked redundantly.
"I did what I felt was necessary." He told her then took a gulp of what was most likely his last drink. "Don't worry I'll tell Slade." He said but Isabel walked over to his desk and pressed the speed dial on his desk phone, to Slade himself.
"Does he still have the cure?" Slade asked Isabel after answering.
"No." She answered as Blood turned his back on her at his desk.
"Slade, you betrayed-"
"Goodbye, Mr. Blood." Slade cut him off as Isabel drew his swords and immediately thrust them into Sebastian as he turned around.
"I loved this city." Blood said with his dying breath. Pulling out her swords, Isabel pushed him on the desk, dead, and left the office to return to Slade's side.
Clocktower
"Why does every secret formula have to be colored?" Felicity remarked as she opened the S.T.A.R. Labs briefcase, noting the glowing blue it was giving off. "Whatever happened to good old-fashioned clear?"
"So if we inject one of Slade's soldiers-"
"According to S.T.A.R. Labs, it will counteract the effects." Felicity finished Dig's statement.
"Assuming they got the recipe right." Dig brought up.
Grabbing the briefcase, Oliver laid down next to Roy's bedside and took out one of the vials. "We need to test it," Oliver told them as he looked at his unconscious protégé.
"We can't treat Roy like some kind of lab rat?" Felicity argued.
"Felicity."
"What if it doesn't work? What if it kills him? What if he wakes up and kills us?" She rambled down the very real possibilities.
"We need to know. One way or the other." Oliver argued and prepared the syringe.
SCPD HQ
"Detective Lance," Pike said getting his, Laurel and Sin's attention.
"Yeah." He went over to Pike as the girls followed. "What's going on? What is it?"
"We are watching live footage of an Army convey arriving on the outskirts of the city to restore order." The reporter said on the TV news.
"Looks like the cavalry's here. Finally." Quentin said dryly.
"Maybe?" Pike mentioned.
"What do you mean?" Quentin asked.
"They're taking up positions at bridges and tunnels," Pike noted as they watched the screen.
"Those are the only ways into the city." Quentin counterpointed.
"Yeah. And the only ways out." Laurel realized.
"A buddy in military intelligence once told me the Army isn't always the Army," Pike recalled.
"But it's clearly the military. The trucks. The uniforms." Laurel said trying to understand Pike's reason.
"Except the nearest Army base is 300 miles from here," Pike informed her.
"So how could they get to Star City so fast?" Sin asked.
"Okay. So if that isn't the Army who the hell are they?" Quentin questioned.
The Clocktower
Ready to deliver the cure to Roy, Oliver got over the to him as Dig and Felicity waited with nervous anticipation. Looking down on him, Oliver placed his hand on Roy's chest. "I'm sorry." He spoke to him, feeling as he failed Roy once again. Oliver placed the needle near Roy's arm but struggled to inject him with it before ultimately relenting. "I can't." He admitted putting the cure down.
Quickly, Felicity's phone rang. "It's Lance. Detective." She answered.
"You near Oliver?" Quentin asked.
"Yes."
"You near a TV?" He asked.
"Yes."
"Turn it on." He told her and Felicity went to her computer tablet and looked at the news. Glancing at it Oliver knew exactly what was about to happen.
At ARGUS, Amanda Waller watched the news feed and immediately her phone ranged. "How did you get this number?" She asked agitatedly.
"Amanda. What are you doing?" Oliver asked her.
"Not sure what you mean, Oliver." She lied.
"Amanda, the troops taking up position at the city's exits, they're not Army. They're ARGUS. Those are your men. So you tell me what you're up to." He demanded and she froze. "Amanda!" He yelled.
"Slade's followers are a clear-and-present danger. I cannot allow them to escape the city. They need to be contained." She told him. "By any means necessary."
"You can't." He said knowing what she had planned.
"There's a drone en route carrying six GBU-43/B bombs. Enough firepower to level the city." She informed him.
"There are over half a million people in this city." He reminded her still shaken.
"576,000." She corrected him. "None of whom deserve to die. But I have to think about the people in every city. You once told me that Mirakuru made a man virtually unstoppable. What could happen to this country, this world … if I don't end it this here and now?"
"Listen to me. I have the cure. I can stop Slade and his men." He revealed to her.
"I can't take the chance you'll fail, Oliver." She told him walking around.
"Amanda, I just need more time." He pleaded.
"I'm sorry." She replied. "You have until dawn … then Star City is a crater." Hanging up on him, Oliver immediately put down his phone and injected the syringe into Roy, more desperate than ever.
Bus Station
Malcolm moaned in pain as he struggled to get to his feet. Seeing the gun, near the dead officer, Thea picked it up. Looking up, Malcolm saw his own daughter point a gun at him. "If you're gonna use that, you'll want to click the safety off." He remarked as he got to his feet, which Thea immediately did.
"I shoot you. I will." She threatened him.
"I can see it in your eyes. My eyes. They're just like mine." He acknowledged and but Thea shook her head in refusal. "Both of them filled with pain and anger … because those we loved were ripped from us. I lost my name, my wife. Tommy."
"Shut up." She shouted.
"You're all I have left in this world." He brought up. "And you've lost everything too, Thea. But you still have a father. You still have-" But he words were cut short when Thea opened fire on him multiple times and her biological father, dropped dead.
