Draco stood at the front with an elderly witch smiling at him. Blaise stood to the left of him, dressed in his best robes. Draco himself was adorned in off white dress robes with delicate gold filigree along the trim. Before him sat a large group of people, their faces indistinguishable. Ron Weasley stood at the other side, his hands folded in front of him, a beaming smile across his face. Draco looked at him, Ron nodded in the opposite direction. Draco looked to see Harry walking down the aisle. His draw dropped at the sight of the man walking towards him. His silver robes hung elegantly at his sides, decorated with gold and black lacework on the edges. Harry's green eyes were bright as they met Draco's. He finally made it all the way down the aisle and grasped Draco's cold hands in his, warming them immediately.
"We're gathered here today ti bring together these two wizards in marriage -"
Draco sat bolt upright. The sun was shining in through the high windows in the infirmary and Harry was no longer laying next to him. Draco reached out to the bedside table and found his watch, checking the time. 8am. He was preoccupied with his dream about marrying Harry; he almost didn't hear him enter.
The large door creaked open and Harry walked through carrying two mugs of tea and a plate of muffins.
"Hi. I'm glad you're awake." Harry handed him the mug of steaming tea.
Draco couldn't shake the image of Harry in wedding robes, or even the idea that he could dream up something so ridiculously out of reach.
He cleared his throat, "thank you."
"Are you up for class today?"
"Yeah, I think so."
A worrisome expression came over Harry's face.
"What?" Draco asked.
"I just realized, is it okay that I'm here?" he asked quietly, "I didn't even think. Someone might see. I'm so sorry."
He started to get up to leave, pulling his cloak over his body.
"Wait." Draco said, Harry paused, half invisible. Draco thought about his dream, he didn't know if he actually wanted to marry the man before him, but he felt secure in the idea of not hiding anymore, "you can stay. I - I don't mind who sees."
He stared steadily into the emerald eyes, letting him know he was sure of this choice. Harry took off his cloak and sat back down grabbing a muffin, smiling.
"Sooo. . ." Harry said.
"So can I walk you to class?" Draco asked, "assuming Pomfrey let's me out of here?"
Harry swallowed, a knot forming in his stomach, nerves.
"Y- yeah. I'd like that."
Madam Pomfrey came by and cleared Draco to go to class, "you're all healed up, I can't say the same for Mr. Travers, I'm sure you'll be hearing from the headmistress soon enough. Go on, now."
Draco closed his curtains to change and met Harry outside the door, he was talking with Blaise.
"- glad you talked." Draco heard the end of their conversation.
"Here you are, Malfoy." Blaise handed him his bag with his books for the morning.
"Thanks. I'm going to walk Harry to Charms, I'll see you in Herbology."
Blaise raised an eyebrow and looked between them, "alright. Good on you. See ya."
Harry took Draco's school bag and lifted it over his shoulder. Draco gave him a disgruntled look.
"You're recovering." he shrugged, and started his walk to Charms. Draco walked by his side, he felt weird to not be carrying his bag. They didn't see anyone until they reached the main hall on the first floor. A group of 7th year Hufflepuff girls walked towards them on their way to Care of Magical Creatures. Draco, who'd been talking himself into this the entire time they've been walking, threw his arm over Harry's shoulder and sneered at the girls, known to flirt with Harry. Harry's cheeks were immediately red and his lips curled into a smile across his face. He leaned into Draco's arm and continued walking, nodding at the group of girls. They slowed their walk and watched the two men walk by, whispering the second they passed. Draco smiled and turned his head towards Harry, his nose nestling on the top of his head.
"How's that for someone seeing us? With those girls, everyone will know by lunch."
Harry laughed but they kept walking. They passed plenty of people on their way to the second floor Charms classroom, each one had the same reaction; slow down, watch, whisper. Harry couldn't wipe the smile from his face; Draco glared at everyone they passed, daring someone to say something. Noone did.
Draco pulled up to the Charms classroom and took his bag from Harry's shoulder. Although his ribs had healed, he was still a bit sore, not that he'd ever admit that. He and Harry were now face to face, both grinning stupidly at each other.
"Okay. thank you." Harry said. He was suddenly very nervous and ridiculously embarrassed, but he loved every bit of it.
"Okay. I'll see you at lunch?"
Harry was surprised by this, the one time he suggested they eat together, there had been a fight about it, "can't wait." he reached up and pecked Draco on the mouth, hoping that wasn't too much for him. Draco seemed okay with it, thank Merlin.
"Have a good morning, love." Harry stared after him as he trotted down the stairs.
"Aye, I didn't know you two were like . . . out." Ron commented from behind him.
Harry turned, beaming still, "we weren't, until this morning."
