Chapter 23- Divided We Stand
Rainjet waited on the sunset crested hill where she had first met Twinwave, the sun shawn a beautiful pink purple. Rainjet had never been more scarred to do anything in her life, she'd called Twinwave to met here her at sunset and the femme had yet to arrive.
Rainjet mentality prepared her speech to Twinwave, she was trying best not to cry thinking about how happy she was.
By the time that Rainjet pulled herself out of her thoughts Twinwave was at her side. For the first time in 2 stellar cycles since the beginning of Megatrons war, the femmes felt at peace together as they watched the sunset over Cybertron.
Rainjet pulled herself away from the sunset and fixed her optics onto Twinwave, taking her femmes servos into hers Rainjet pulled Twinwaves focus onto her. She took a deep breath preparing herself for the task she was about to perform.
"Twinwave" she said to her femme locking optics with her "You make me the happiest femme on Cybertron, I dont know what I would ever do without you. So I want to do one thing that will make sure that we'll never be apart" Rainjets spark chamber opened and she placed Twinwaves servo onto her spark "I want to be your sparkmate" she finished and waited for her femmes response.
Twinwaves servo had moved off of Rainjets spark and to her mouth, lubricate had already started falling down her face in happiness "Of course I will be" she said opening her own spark chamber and placed Rainjet's servo onto before placing hers back onto Rainjet's.
Their sparks beat under their servos as both femmes closed their optics, feeling eachothers presence and the happiness that the other brought them. They could feel the energy that helped to keep the others spark beating travel from under their servo onto their arms and eventually blossom in their own spark.
They're optics still stayed closed, as the warmth and energy of the others spark stayed in their own. A faint 'click' was heard in their processors as they felt the connection they now shared, like 2 different cables connecting together.
Rainjet and Twinwave placed the servos that had been on eachothers sparks back together in a clasp before they closed their spark chambers, both of them could feel the happiness that the other felt.
"Let's stay here until the sun sets" Rainjet said sitting down on the hill and watched the sun set, Twinwave did the same and placed her helm onto Rainjet's shoulder keeping her servo still clasped into Rainjet's. Like they had done when they'd started dating a short two stellar cycles prior.
They stayed watching the sunset until it was dark "Want me to walk you home?" Rainjet asked Twinwave "Of course I do, just be prepared to be attacked by my creators when we get there" she replied as Rainjet helped her up.
As predicted Twinwave's creators were over joyed, especially Treadflight Twinwaves carrier.
" My sparkling is all grown up!" She said grabbing Twinwave and squeezing her in a hug. "I'm so happy for you both" Seaspin said placing his servo onto Rainjet's shoulder "Thank you, I think we're both ready to move in together. My creators have a house that they've bought me to move into when I'm ready and I think I am" she said to Seaspin as they watched Treadflight crush Twinwave in her never ending hug.
"Love, can you let Twinwave go so she can go collect her stuff" Seaspin said to Treadflight who begrudgingly let her daughter go. "Collect my things? What do you mean sire?" Twinwave asked after she'd gotten some air back into her lungs.
"Its a surprise" Rainjet said, Twinwave shrugged in response "Alright I guess" she said before going upstairs and packing her worldly treasures into a box. It doesnt sound like much but because Cybertronian's don't need clothes and her swords fit in the case on her back, she only packed the things that were really close to her sprak.
While she was upstairs Twinwave could feel how excited Rainjet was to show her the surprise she had planned for her "Whatever this is she sure seems really happy about it" Twinwave thought before she headed back downstairs.
"You ready to go?" Rainjet asked Twinwave when she saw her coming down the stairs "Yep, everything's in here!" She said gently shaking the box she was carrying. "Alright before we leave, I need you to give me that to carry" Rainjet said taking the box out of Twinwaves servos "You sure? It isn't that heavy and I can carry it" she said "Positive" Rainjet replied before walking towards the door "I'll give you some time to say good bye" she said stepping outside.
"Bye carrier, sire" she said hugging them, "Be sure to visit us soon" Seaspin said hugging his daughter "Now you better get going, you don't want to keep your sparkmate waiting" he said letting Twinwave go and wachter her walk out their door.
"Where are we going my love?" Twinwave asked Rainjet after she'd closed her parents door and felt the same excitement from her femme that she'd felt when she had been upstairs earlier. "Follow me and you'll find out" Rainjet replied as she started walking away from Twinwave who followed closely behind her. Rainjet knew it was going to take them only a few minutes to arrive at their new home.
As they walked, Rainjet and Twinwave's optics adjusted to the calm darkness that had fallen over Cybertron. "It's quiet out tonight" Twinwave said breaking their minute long silence "Its is" Rainjet said in agreeance "And we're here!" She said a couple seconds later as they walked toward a house. "We cant go in there!" Twinwave said in concerned whisper "Relax love, it's our house. Nobody lives here but us" Rainjet replied as she unlocked their front door and walked in to turn on their main floor lights. "Our house? You mean this was your surprise?" Twinwave said walking in after her sparkmate "It is, you can go explore it if you want" Rainjet said in response before Twinwave ran off onto the house turning on the lights in every room she came across exploring her new home. Rainjet could feel how happy her femme was, it made her spark happy to be able to have this special connection with her.
Their special happiness lasted for the next couple of weeks as they did everything together, going to the market, running errands, visiting Rainjet while she was working in the Iacon hall of records or visiting Twinwave while she was working as an Air Guardian with her carrier. Their happiness was broken though by the first attack on a city, Cyber City to be more specific.
"Someone needs to do something to stop Megatron" Twinwave said after she finished reading the article about the attack. "I dont know I think he was just trying to prove his point" Rainjet said, disbelief crossed Twinwave's faceplates "You can't be serious" she said to Rainjet.
"Listen" Rainjet started "I made a promise to Megatron, I promised that him that when he finally started his war for equality on Cybertron I'd be there to stand with him. He's promised every one if his followers his protection and pardon when he takes over our planet". Twinwave still couldn't believe what she was hearing "You think all of this is over equality? Wake up Rainjet! Hes hungry for power and doesn't care how many innocent sparks he snuffs along the way the proof is the attack on Cyber City!"
"He isn't the bad guy! I agree with what hes doing and I thought you would too! I was going to ask you to join me in becoming a Decepticon and fighting with Megatron instead of against him, that way we dont end up like those people from Cyber city!" She said.
"Well I don't! I cant believe that you think killing millions of innocent sparks is okay! Hes the bad guy in this, I won't stand with him or if you're set on joining him, you" Twinwabe replied.
"So you're going to throw away our promises? Our relationship? Over what? Not siding with someone who's going to win?" Twinwave could feel Rainjets sadness and anger as she said that.
"I'm not throwing away our promises or relationship! I'm just saying that I don't agree with Megatron or you!" Twinwave was trying as hard as she could not to cry but at this point there was no stopping the tears that had already begun to fall.
"So you're just going to walk away!? All because of one little argument?!" Rainjet said, she didnt notice Twinwabes crying but instead the sadness that she felt. "No Rainjet I'm not walking away because of the argument, I'm walking away becuase that's what's best for us right now!" Twinwave yelled back at her "Dont you see? Until this war is faught and won by either side we're never going to agree! And staying with you is going to put me and you in harms way if I dont agree with Megatron!"
Twinwave pushed past Rainjet with tears still streaming down her face and grabbed her swords "I'm not saying we're over, I will never say that" she said as calmly as she could "But we're on two different sides that don't care if we love eachother or not, all they care about is winning and taking Cybertron for themselves."
"So then what are you saying?" Rainjet asked who now had lubricate pooling at the bottom of her optics, "I'm saying that I love you, and that this is good bye for right now" Twinwave said as she kissed Rainjet one more time before walking out their open front door and slamming it closed. Leaving Rainjet crying in their sitting room.
"Soundwave, put me through to Megatron. He and I have some business to discuss" Rainjet said wiping the lubricate off her faceplates.
And this concludeds the end of the before, now all of you have been filled in on the past events of Twinwave and Rainjet's relationship. All the hardship and tragedy that dots their past, you now also understand why Optimus feels the way he does about letting Twinwave go back into the field. Now we may continue back where we left off in chapter 1, 5 years after this chapter.
