"Welcome to 8island!" Alex said, cheerfully to a customer. "Have you decided on your order?" She leaned forward attentively in her uniform and took down the table's order quickly.
Alex had taken a job with Team Natsu at a restaurant that had just opened. The owner was a former council member and a good friend of Master Makarov. They were there as waiters and waitresses. Alex had threatened them enough to try not to break anything. Lucy was a popular waitress, and Erza was convincing the guests to buy everything on the menu.
Lucy cried in annoyance after a while. "Lucy," Natsu reminded her. "This is part of the job, you know."
"I don't see how this is a job for wizards at all!" Lucy cried, throwing down her notepad. "And what's with this embarrassing getup?"
"How should I know?" Natsu asked.
"Well, I do look pretty good in it, actually," Lucy admitted, striking a pose.
"The chef at this restaurant uses magic to cook," Happy added, serving drinks. "That's why he wanted his waiters and waitresses to be magic users as well."
Alex walked over and took the plate of food Natsu was holding before he started eating it. "What did I tell you about eating the customer's food?" She asked irritated. She smiled at the guest. "Here you go, sir. Please enjoy it." She turned back to face Lucy, her hand on her hip. "We took this job at your suggestion. How about working instead of complaining. It's not that difficult."
"Yeah," Gray added, not wearing his uniform...or any clothes at all. "Sometimes dressing up like a waiter is pretty nice."
Alex smacked him upside the head. "You're not even dressed as a waiter. Where's your uniform?" Alex went up to the kitchen window and grabbed the food for one of her tables. She smiled at the woman sitting there with her kids. "Here you go, ma'am. Please, let me know if there's anything else I can get for you."
"Come one now," Gray added, looking at Lucy. "Whose rent are we doing this for again? Stop complaining." They continued working until the restaurant was closed.
"Well then..." Yajima said. "Good work, everyone. Kids these days sure do work hard. Come back any time."
"Yes," Erza said, smiling. She was still wearing her uniform. "I learned a lot today."
Alex smiled and bowed to the man. She was now wearing a blue button-up shirt and a black skirt. "I'm glad we were able to help you, Yajima-san. Feel free to call on us to help again anytime."
"Now I know how Mira-chan feels now," Gray commented.
"I wish I were able to eat more," Natsu pouted at Alex. "Someone kept taking all of my food."
"It wasn't yours, to begin with," Lucy muttered.
"By the way, Yajima-san...What happened with the Council?" Erza asked.
"Well," Yajima said, rubbing his head. "I've already retired. Zuuko...Or was it Zullal?"
"Jellal," Erza helpfully gave.
"Oh, yes, that's right." Yajima continued. "The betrayal of Zullal and Ultear was quite the blunder for the Council. Now should be the time to establish a fresh, new Magic Council. And the groundwork for it seems to be laid in all quarters. It caused you all quite a lot of grief, it did...I am sorry about that."
"No," Erza smiled. "I've heard that you were set against firing Etherion the entire time. And you even retired out of shame for the actions of the Council."
"I'm not fit for governing," Yajima said, using magic to cook something in a skillet. "As I thought..." He used some magic. "I have a lot more fun being a cook!" He looked at Natsu and Gray after he put his skillet away. "By the way, Natsu-kun, Gray-kun..." He jumped down to get closer to them. "There will be a new Council now. I won't be there any longer. That means that no one will be there to speak up for Fairy Tail. Be sure to behave in a way that keeps that in mind!"
The boys frantically nodded their heads to show they understood. "We'll behave!" They shouted in fear.
Yajima smiled and waved as they left. "Say hi to Macky for me!"
"Thank you very much for today!" Lucy shouted, waving happily as they left in their carriage.
The next day, Alex walked into Fairy Tail, exhausted. She woke up from a nightmare in the middle of the night and wasn't able to sleep. She was wearing a red tank top and black shorts with black tennis shoes."Are you okay?" Erza asked, sitting down beside her.
"Yeah," Alex yawned. "I couldn't sleep very well, so I'll probably take it easy today."
"What's this?" Lucy asked, looking at the writing Mira was looking at. It was an organization chart of all the Dark Guilds.
Alex looked up and groaned. "Not this!" She whined, banging her head against the table. "I'm too tired."
Erza stood up, leaving Alex to lie there. "When you look at it overall, there are quite a lot of them."
'Why is it here?" Lucy asked.
"Because lately, it seems like their activity has increased," Mira said, glaring at the diagram. Alex sighed and sat up. She grabbed a pen and paper and started writing. "We have to strengthen the bonds between guilds."
"What's the big oval?" Gray asked.
"Juvia knows," Juvia said, smiling. "It is the Baram Alliance. The Baram Alliance is the most potent force of Dark Guilds, combining the three guilds of Oracion Seis, Tartaros, and Grimoire Heart. Each of them has several associated guilds, and they control the world of Dark Guilds. Then there's the guild that acts independently of the rest, Raven's Tail."
Lucy asked a question about Eisenwald, which Erza confirmed was the guild Erigor was a member of.
"So that was one of the guilds associated with Oracion Seis, huh?" Gray asked.
"There's a lot of names that I remember up there..." Wakaba said.
"Aren't there some that used to be official guilds, too?" Macao asked.
"Ghoul Spirits, that the Raijinshuu destroyed was also one of them," Mira added.
"And the guilds Juvia and Gajeel-kun destroyed when we were in Phantom were all from Oracion Seis!" Juvia cheered.
"Please don't go smiling about it..."Gray requested.
Alex leaned back as they were discussing the Dark Guilds and all of the different alliances. Lucy was concerned about them getting revenge for what happened to Eisenwald. Wakaba tried to comfort Lucy by saying there were only six members in Oracion Seis, but Mira quickly pointed out it was still one of the strongest Dark Guilds out there.
"About that, Oracion Seis..." Master Makarov said, walking in. "We're going to attack them.
The guild members looked at the Master in shock before fainting after Mira said, "Welcome back, Master." She smiled. "How was the regular meeting?" She asked, ignoring the bodies around her.
"Master," Erza asked, running up to him. "What are you talking about?"
"At the regular meeting the other day, we discussed the recent activity by Oracion Seis," The Master said. "As it is not something we can ignore, we decided that some guild has to fight them."
"You pulled the short straw again, didn't you Gramps?" Gray asked irritated.
"And Fairy Tail will take on that role?" Juvia added.
"No," Master Makarov denied. "The enemy, this time is too powerful. If it were only us, then afterward, the Barem Alliance would retaliate only here. And that is why we have formed an alliance ourselves. Fairy Tail, Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale, and Caitshelter are allying together to take down the Oracion Seis."
Alex listened quietly as Natsu tried to argue they could do it themselves while others told him it was a bad idea. She stood up and walked over to Natsu and looked at the Master. "I think it's a good idea," She added calmly. "Even if we could handle it ourselves, it would be an excellent way to make allies in other guilds."
"Wait," Lucy said, shaking in fear. "If the enemy only has six members, how powerful are these guys?"
"I'm going to be sending four members of Fairy Tail," Master Makarov said. "Natsu, Gray, Erza, and Lucy, you will meet the others guilds and help them fight Oracion Seis."
Alex stood up straight in surprise. "I'm not going?" She asked, disappointed.
"I need you to help me with something else," The Master answered calmly. "These four can handle this just fine."
Alex nodded and grabbed Erza's arm. "Can we talk for a minute?" She requested. Erza nodded, and they walked over to the corner, where Alex liked to spend the most time. She gave Erza the paper she was writing. "Here's everything you need to know about the Oracion Seis." Erza opened the piece of paper. "Blue Pegasus is going to have some information, but not enough to stop them." She grabbed Erza's arm. "Make sure everyone gets home unharmed."
Erza nodded. "Thank you. I'm sure we'll put this information to good use." She started walking to where the others were waiting. "We'll be home soon," She promised.
With Team Natsu
When Erza joined the others in the carriage, she opened the note Alex gave her. "What's that?" Gray asked, curious.
"Alex wanted us to go to this battle prepared," Erza explained. "She gave us information on the Oracion Seis." She read the note aloud. When she finished reading, she looked up at the others. "I think a lot of this could be helpful."
"Looks like we might owe Alex one when we get back," Gray grinned, crossing his arms.
Erza nodded. "Let's put this information to good use." She pulled up the note again. The first six people used to be slaves to the Tower of Heaven. I think I can help them. Erza looked outside. "I hope you know what you're doing, Alex."
Back to Alex
"So, what is it you wanted me to help you with, Master?" Alex asked, curious.
"It's not so much that I need your help," The Master said. "The Council requested your presence. It would be beneficial if you went to them soon."
"Whatever they needed, it couldn't wait until after I helped take down Oracion Seis?" Alex asked incredulously. "And I thought there wasn't a new Council just yet."
"Not exactly," The Master admitted. He scratched his neck. "It's hard to explain."
Alex looked irritated. "You want to try?"
"Lahar is concerned the Oracion Seis will try to escape once they are defeated," Master Makarov finally explained. "He wants to talk with you about how to detain them permanently so they can't escape justice."
Alex sat down in a chair across from Makarov and smiled. "Alright. That brings up a plan I had." She leaned forward. "It's my understanding that the Oracion Seis were slaves just like Erza was. The only difference is they were sold and molded into terrible criminals. What I'm thinking will give them a chance to become better people while still being punished for their crimes."
Makarov listened to the plan Alex had, not bothering to interrupt her. When she finally finished talking, he leaned back in his chair, thoughtful. "Are you sure this is something you want to do?" He asked her. "It won't be easy."
Alex nodded firm. "Yes, Master. I think these six deserve a second chance. I want to be able to give them that chance."
Master Makarov nodded. "Alright, then." He wrote down some words on a piece of paper. He then rolled it up and sealed it with a Fairy Tail Stamp. "Give this to Lahar when you see him," He told her. "This will help you in your endeavor."
Alex smiled and bowed. "Thank you, Master. "I won't let you down." She ran down the stairs. "Hey, Laki! Freed! Gajeel! I need some help!"
The three she called looked over to her as she walked down the stairs. "What do you need?" Laki asked. They walked over to her when she reached the bottom of the stairs.
Alex grinned. "How would you three like to take on a job for me?"
Two hours later
Alex was walking over to where Lahar was waiting impatiently. She decided to dress for comfort and wore a purple t-shirt and some black shorts along with her black hiking boots.
Lahar looked at her and bowed his head slightly. "Alex, welcome. It seems you share your guild's love of being fashionably late."
Alex smiled. "I had to take care of a couple of things before I could come. I do apologize if it's made you late to some important tea party." She looked to the rune knights behind him. "Shall we go catch the Oracion Seis? Or would you like to continue wasting time by discussing my guild?"
Lahar glared slightly. "Of course. Let's go then." They walked for a few hours until they reached the Worth Woodsea, where Nirvana was rumored to be. It was late at night when they finally decided to stop. "We'll be setting a trap here for the guild members that were supposed to take out The Oracion Seis," He said, looking at Alex. "They should have at least one or two of the members with them. I trust you will be able to find the one they leave behind?"
Alex nodded and made her wings appear. "It shouldn't take too long." She took off to the sky to find the members of Oracion Seis. It was easy enough to find Angel and Racer. Cobra was only slightly more complicated, as was Midnight. When Alex found them, she would fly them to where Lahar was waiting and put them in a rune trap so they couldn't escape.
"Now, all we have to do is wait," Alex said, crossing her arms. "The guild members should be coming up here pretty soon." Alex sat down and released her wings. Leaning against a tree, she pulled out her communications lacrima and called the Raijinshuu.
Bickslow answered. "Hey, Sparky!" He called, smiling. "What are you up to?"
Alex grinned. "I'm doing a favor for the Rune Knights. Can you meet me at the Worth Woodsea in a couple of hours? I'm going to need some help."
Freed took hold of the lacrima. "Of course. We'll be happy to help you. Just tell us what you need."
"I need a carriage," Alex said. "And if you all could get here within three hours, I would appreciate it."
"We'll be there soon," Evergreen promised.
Alex grinned and gave them her location. "We'll be here when you arrive. Try not to take too long." She hung up and called Laxus next. When he answered, she grinned widely. "Sparkles!" She cheered. "How are you?"
Laxus grunted, annoyed. "Quit trying to come up with a nickname for me." He looked to the side. "I'm alright. What are you doing, training in the woods?"
"I'm helping the Rune Knights on an important job," Alex told him. I'm just taking a break right now to call and check up on you." She tilted her head. "And you want me to stop thinking of nicknames? Alright, Sparkles, it is!" She laughed at his annoyed growl. "I should go. I just wanted to make sure you were still okay."
Laxus sighed and nodded. "I'm fine. Take care of yourself, okay? It looks like you haven't been getting enough sleep."
Alex sighed. "Yeah, been getting nightmares lately. It makes it hard to sleep."
"Wanna talk about it?" Laxus asked, concerned. "You're no good to anyone if you can't sleep through the night."
"I will later," Alex promised. "I do need to go now." She looked up to Lahar, who was glaring at her, annoyed. "The boss man for this job is looking annoyed." Laxus nodded and told her goodbye, then hung up. Alex sighed and stared at Lahar. "Is everything alright?"
"You shouldn't be making personal calls right now," Lahar said, irritated. "We need to be alert when dealing with the Oracion Seis."
Alex glared. "I can handle the Oracion Seis. Don't you worry about me." Lahar was going to respond when their trap was set off. Alex grinned. "Looks like my guildmates are here." She jumped up and grabbed the still unconscious members of the Oracion Seis. "We should go meet them." She walked in front of the Rune Knights and led the way to her friends. They were trying to break out of the rune area.
Erza looked up when she heard them walking up. "Alex!" She called. "What are you doing here? And with the Rune Knights even?"
Before Alex could answer her, Natsu spoke up, irritated. "Hey! Why didn't you tell us we were going to be fighting other dark guilds! What the heck!"
Alex tilted her head in confusion. "What are you talking about? Other dark guilds were hiding out here?" She thought for a minute, and her eyes widened in realization. "Oh yeah!" She laughed sheepishly. "I guess I forgot about those guys. Sorry."
"What do you mean, you forgot?!" Gray and Natsu shouted.
Alex waved them away. "It's not like I'm expected to remember every little detail. Besides, you took care of it, right? Stop complaining."
Before anyone could complain anymore, Erza spoke up. "Alex is right," She said. "She did the best she could, and the information she gave was more than enough."
"Excuse me," A voice said from behind Erza. "How did she have information of what was supposed to happen?"
Alex tilted her head to see a small girl with blue hair staring back at her. Natsu started to panic. "She's a fortune teller!" He shouted.
The girl clasped her hands together in excitement. "Really! That's so amazing!"
Alex glared at Natsu before smiling at the little girl. "That's right. I get glimpses of the future sometimes. It's nice to finally meet you, Wendy."
Lahar stepped forward. "We have a job to do, remember?" He asked, annoyed.
Alex rolled her eyes. "Yeah yeah." She crossed her arms. "Continue."
"We've come to arrest the Oracion Seis," Lahar said. "Please turn over Hoteye now."
"But, he's good now!" Natsu defended. "He doesn't need to go to jail!"
"Sparky!" Bickslow shouted from behind them. "We're here!" Alex turned around to see the Raijinshuu walking up to them besides a large carriage.
Alex grinned. "Right on time," She cheered. "Let's get these guys into that carriage." She pointed to the Oracion Seis they already had arrested. They had woken up and were irritated. "Don't let them get away."
"What is the meaning of this?" Lahar demanded as the Raijinshuu started packing them away. "We already have a carriage to take them. Why did you call for another one?"
Alex looked up, confused. "What do you mean? Didn't I give you the scroll?" She reached into her pocket and grabbed the scroll. "Here it is!" She cheered. She handed the scroll to Lahar. "I'm taking these prisoners in the name of Fairy Tail. They will serve their punishment there under my care."
"You can't do this!" Lahar shouted. "I'm supposed to take them to jail."
"Everyone who was once trapped at the Tower of Heaven should be given a second chance," Alex said, stern. "They didn't have a choice in what they were told." She crossed her arms. "The Master and I agreed they deserve a second chance, so I'm taking them."
"You came here to arrest them," Lahar argued. "Not make friends with them. Do you're job and quit arguing."
"Are you really going to argue with the decree of one of the Ten Wizard Saints?" Alex asked, walking past Lahar. "It's already been decided. There's no point in you arguing about it anymore."
"Fine!" Lahar growled. "When they escape from you, don't come crying to the Rune Knights to clean up your mess." He turned to face the others. "We also came to arrest the enemy of the Council. Jellal, you are under arrest."
"I don't think so," Alex said. "He was at the Tower of Heaven and is just as much a victim. He comes to."
"You don't have anything on Jellal in these papers!" Lahar growled. "You can't take him too!"
Alex ignored him and looked to Hoteye and Jellal. "Can I count on you to not escape?" When they nodded, she turned to Freed. "Please release the barrier." Freed nodded and went to work on the barrier surrounding him.
"Is this why you agreed to help?" Lahar asked. "So that you can take our prisoners?"
Alex nodded. "I had no intention of letting you take these people. Especially when I know, I can help reform them better than prison ever could." She turned away from Lahar. "Thank you for helping me catch them, but your services are no longer needed."
"You're going to regret this," Lahar promised, glaring at her. "Make no mistake; they will turn on you." Lahar motioned for the rest of the Rune Knights, and they walked away.
Alex sighed in relief as they walked away. "I thought he would never leave." She turned to her friends. "Well, I'll leave you all to it. It's getting late, so I need to go. We'll talk later, alright?"
Her friends waved goodbye, and she got into the back of the carriage with the captured Oracion Seis. She grinned at their faces. "Hey, I'm Alex. You all will be staying at my home for a while."
"Why would we do that?" Angel asked. "We don't even know you."
"It's either stay at my home, or go to jail," Alex said, crossing her arms. "Let me explain what is going to happen. You all will have a room at my house. You'll join Fairy Tail, and will go on missions with me to help people. As you work with me, I'll help you achieve your dreams. Richard," She turned to the redhead. "I can take you to see your brother. His name is Wally, right? I have a way to contact him. Macbeth, you will be able to sleep in peace." She turned to the others. "I will do whatever I can to help you all, but I can't do that if you won't let me. Will you let me help you all?"
Cobra stared at her. "I can read your thoughts. You're serious about wanting to help us?" At her nod, he sighed. "It doesn't look like we have much choice. Fine, we'll play along. Don't expect us to be all goody goody, though."
Alex laughed. "I wouldn't dream of making you change your attitudes. I do hope you manage to find a home in Fairy Tail, though." When they reached her house, they all climbed out. "This is where you all will be staying." She pointed to the house. It had been expanded to add six more rooms. "It's charmed so you can't destroy it in an attempt to escape. We'll go into town later, and you can pick out what you want to decorate your rooms with."
"You don't have it set up so we can't leave without you?" Racer asked. "What if we just escape?"
Alex shrugged. "I can get that enchantment added if you think I need it. But I don't think you have a lot of options, do you? Do you want to keep running your whole lives? I won't stop you from running, but you will have to keep running and never stop. Do you want to live a life like that?"
Angel scoffed. "I'd rather not spend my life running." She walked up to the house. "I'm going to pick out my room, okay?" At Alex's nod, she walked into the house. The other's quickly following her.
Jellal looked at her. "Are you sure you want us to stay?" He asked. "Especially after I've caused so much trouble."
Alex laughed. "It's fine. Besides, you don't remember, do you? Why would I hold it against you if you can't even remember what you did? Go pick out your room already." When Jellal walked away, she sighed. "What am I going to do with them?"
"Are you sure it's a good idea to have them all here?" Evergreen asked, nervous. "They are criminals, you know."
Alex nodded. "I'm sure." She handed Freed about ten thousand jewels. "Thank you for your help with the upgrades to my house. I'll be sure to pay Laki and Gajeel next time I see them. I'm going to bed now." She waved at them and walked into her house. "See you later, everyone!" She locked her door and sighed. "Time to go to bed."
"Hey, Fairy Girl!" Cobra shouted. "Where's the bathroom at?"
"And do I have to share one with everyone?" Angel asked, crossing her arms. "I refuse to share a restroom with Racer."
Alex sighed. "But first, I better take care of my new houseguests."
Hey everyone! So this took a long time! And it probably didn't take the turn you all were expecting. Or maybe it did, I'm not sure. So what do you think is going to happen now that the Oracion Seis and Jellal are staying with Alex? I know a lot is going to change now. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Thank you for reading my story. I'll see you later with another chapter soon!
