Epilogue

Four years later….

"I do" the bride spoke smiling.

The Priest continued looking at the couple in front of him,"I now pronounce you husband and wife" and there was chorus of hoots and hurrays from the crowd as the couple kissed.

"I can't believe he's doing this for the second time and is still so happy." a dark haired man whispered to his wife.

"Ouch, why hit me?" cried the dark haired man looking at his wife

Elena rolled her eyes at her husband's antics. She was so happy to see Stefan marry Caroline. As strange as it sounds it was Damon who pushed Stefan to date Caroline but regretted later on when he realized what is control freak and utterly joyous lady Caroline is and how he despised it. Unlike Damon, Elena believed that Caroline was perfect for Stefan, they completed each other.

In the flurry of moment they could see Arianna rushing towards her parents to give them a hug. Aria and Caroline both bond really well. Caroline loves Aria like her own which made Stefan sure in his choice to marry Caroline.

This wedding reminds her of her own and so many happy memories that it brought. It feels like yesterday when Damon proposed her for marriage. The countdown to her wedding days and their honeymoon. She was in a bubble of bliss with Damon except the occasional arguments.

"Mommy, are you crying?" a little dark haired boy with stunning blue eyes spoke worriedly at his mother.

"Oh honey, no. I'm happy." Before Elena could bend to lift her son, Damon caught her and lifted their son in his arms. "You're 29 weeks pregnant Elena stop bending and lifting him. We don't want our baby girl to pop out of pressure. She needs to stay in her oven for a little longer"

Elena huffed and placed her hand on her belly which was now very visible. "We don't know the gender. Stop calling him a girl"

Damon placed a tiny kiss on Elena's head and whispered, "Father's know because we put it there"

Elena pulled Damon's ears to which he just laughed. "Mind your words around kids. They pick up wrong things easily" chided Elena

Damon left his fussing son down who happily ran towards the ice cream corner. He brushed few hairs off Elena's face and looked at her intently "I Love you Mrs. Salvatore and you know how happy and how proud I am to reproduce with you" and laughed.

Elena who was expecting a sweet note should have known better. Her husband is more of a weirdo than romantic. "You're pathetic"

Feigning hurt Damon asserted, "That's not what you said in morning when we were naked between the sheets." Before Elena could form a retort he pulled her close and kissed her deeply while playing with her lips. He pulled back to and saw the lust dancing in her eyes and the invitation to forgo wedding and do the sin.

Their stream of lovemaking thoughts broke when he was called to give the best man's speech.

"If you weren't pregnant already, I would've made you tonight." He whispered in Elena's ear and placed a chaste kiss on her soft lips while she blushed.

As Damon made the way towards the centre of the crowd, Elena walked towards her family where her son was already in his Grandfather's lap chatting animatedly and her Mother-in-law was delighted to find her approaching them. Lily clasped Elena's hand and made her sit comfortably, placing a glass of fresh juice and a big piece of chocolate pastry that she has is craving everyday since her pregnancy.

Lily Salvatore was the happiest mother to witness both her sons happy in love and having their own little families. All because Elena stumbled upon Damon and changed their world for good.

I could not include all the parts into this story as I wanted to wind it up before my muse leaves. Also, I wasn't sure if anyone was interested in reading it anymore.

So, here we go…

Elena quit her job at Salvatore Inc. to maintain her personal and professional life separately. They both confessed their love for each other and wanted to give their work and relationship a genuine chance without making to news.

Damon didn't quit from his position as the CEO of Salvatore Inc. he was accompanied by Stefan and Alaric in following the duties they divided among them while Klaus became their legal adviser.

For those who have forgotten, Stefan met Caroline briefly when she was planning the party at Salvatore Mansion, and as we can see their love has blossomed to marriage.

I started this story with how Elena wanted to prove everyone her worth, competitive with her sister and longing for her father's love. She came a long way since this and realized that she doesn't need to prove anyone but herself.

All's right with Elena's family, although Gilbert's were bit apprehensive with her marriage into Salvatore's they agreed after Damon made another hearty speech to them.

As for the death of Sarah and Atticus, I don't think there was any chance for their redemption in my eyes. Also, I wanted to end the phase of ambiguity and begin the phase of clarity & love for Delena.
