Sam quietly entered the front hall as he stepped inside. He heard noise coming from the living room that he usually would come in. Making his way there, found Dean sitting cross-legged in front of the couch with Emma climbing all over him.

"Dude, aren't you supposed to be at work?" Sam asked him.

"Nah, Bobby gave me th...," Dean was able to say before a small hand found it's way into his mouth.

Dean gave a playful glare but all he got was a gummy smile. He gently removed Emma's hand from his mouth as she gently grabbed his ear and giggled excitedly.

"She's quite playful," Sam remarked.

"Yeah, she just woke up so she's all over the place right now."

Sam sat near his brother and pulled on one of his niece's pigtails. Her head swung around wildly as her bright green eyes found a new person to play with. Letting of Dean's ear, she made her way into Sam's lap.

"You better be careful, dude," Dean warned.

"Emma is too sweet to do anything," Sam retorted.

As soon as he said the words, Sam felt his hair getting pulled. He was able to move his head back enough to see Emma trying to put a handful into her mouth.

"No, no, no," Sam gently reprimanded pulling his hair from her grasp.

"Told you to be careful," Dean gently said, almost exhausted. "She's been trying to put everything she can in her mouth. Everything."

"Where's Cas?" Sam asked. "He's usually here."

"Talking with Bobby," Dean responded. "Something's going on but he hasn't told me yet."

"Anything we could help with?" Sam asked concerned.

"I think they're trying to keep us out of it as long as possible. I don't know whether I love or hate them for it."

Sam leaned back as he sighed, possibilities running through his head. Things had been going so well for them. It had been really quiet. Sam continued to get lost in his thoughts when the sound of wings was heard in the room.

Castiel stood in the middle of the room with a wide look in his eyes, looking tense.

"Cas," Dean called. "What's going on?"

"I just needed to see Emma. I'll be right back," Cas said before disappearing again.

Dean let out an annoyed sigh before leaning back down. Something was most definitely up and he wanted answers now.

It wasn't too long before he heard an engine rumble in the driveway. Looking up, he saw Sam look up, wondering what was going on. Handing back his niece, he stood up to the window and looked out. He walked over to the front door and opened it. Mary immediately walked in with a strained smile on her face.

The engine cut off and Bobby was seen straggling toward the door. "You gonna let is in, idjit?"

Sam stood to the side and allowed the two in. Closing the door, Sam led them to the living room where Dean was now pacing with Emma in his arms.

Seeing who it was, Dean stopped and demanded answers.

"Maybe I should hold her," Mary told him gently. At his questioning look, she continued. "You're going to get upset and she doesn't need to know that."

Agreeing with her logic, Dean passed his baby girl to his mother. Mary left the room, cooing to the baby in her arms. Dean turned back toward Bobby. "What's going on?"

"Crowley came by, said there's been muttering in hell," Bobby started. "Talk about an angel baby being out there. Said he just knew that it had something to do with you three idjits."

"Does he know who it is?" Sam asked.

"They're getting around his goonies. For the most part, they've kept quiet."

"And Crowley came to you about this?" Dean asked.

"Demons being petulant, not taking orders, think that having the baby will be the way to take charge of hell, have unlimited amounts of power."

"And make her work for them, how? She's a baby!"

"Not now, but eventually."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Dean," Sam jumped in. "It means that they're going to kidnap her and raise her. If she's raised around evil, it's more likely that she'll be evil."

"What's their play?" Dean asked, going back to pacing around the room.

"The best possible play would be to get her out and about," Bobby told the boy. "Another is to try to get her out of the house. I suggested Cas touch up the warding around the place. Make it harder at least."

"We stop taking her outside, then," Dean started planning. "Retouch the salt lines in the molding. What else can we do?"

"There was also talk about getting one of the chosen children, but I didn't get what that was about. Cas disappeared quickly after that and Crowley looked scared."

"Chosen children?" Sam asked. "I'm never heard of such a thing."

"They're humans with great powers, enough that they could defend themselves against all types of supernatural creatures," a deep voice said from behind them. "Most of the time, they are unaware of the powers they possess and go their entire lives not knowing."

Cas looked more settled when they looked at him again, but there was still fear around his eyes.

"And we just need to find one of these kids?" Bobby asked. "There some kind of list we find all of them on?"

"No, you either have a summoning spell or meet one of them personally and sense their power."

"Then we get the ingredients to summon one," Dean said anxiously.

"We can't just kidnap someone, and just say what? 'Hey, don't steal my kid.'"

"Or you could just call her," Cas softly muttered.

"Her?" Sam and Dean both exclaimed.

"Yes, you have met one and seen some of the extent of her power."

Sam and Dean looked confused. Mary had come back in by this point rocking her granddaughter.

"Would this have anything to do us practically flying months ago?" Mary asked.

"Flying?" Bobby asked.

"When John tried to stab Cas, we all were pushed back against some kind of force," Sam answered

"Are you talking about that thing Celine gave you?" Dean asked. "The child protection thing?"

"No," Cas responded. "Celine is not that powerful. It would not have created a force like that. I did not get rid of the other protection charms given. Even though individually they were not strong, together they showed a strong reaction."

"Other protection charms? You mean the ones Emily made?" Dean asked.

"You did say we should talk with Emily," Sam continued.

"Yes, she was showing a large amount of power, especially for her age," Cas responded. "It is often that evil forces will be attracted to power like that, especially from those who are young as they are easily manipulated. Looking at her mind, she has a strong showing of strength. Also, she has a mentor that has been guiding her."

"This Celine worth her salt?" Bobby asked, getting a snort from both brothers. "What?"

"When we met Celine, she had a gigantic container of salt with her," Sam explained.

"Celine's one of the good ones," Dean continued. "Even stood toe-to-toe with dad."

"Yeah," Sam agreed. "She was not putting up with him."

Bobby nodded considering this information. "Would she be willing to help us, both of them?"

"We think so," Sam continued. "They helped us with the witch down in Charleston. Emily even knew who we were when we got there."

"So what, we go down there and beg for their help?" Dean asked.

"I can just call them," Mary stated. "I talk to Celine often, she helps get ingredients to other hunters that need them and is a good contact to have in general. She knows a bit about what's going on in general, so I'll just have to catch her up."

"You just call her up?" Dean jokingly asked.

"I need another woman to talk to sometimes," Mary responded. "Sometimes about something other than the monster of the week to other hunters."

"What else can we do while we're waiting on those two to respond?" Sam asked.

"Prepare for the fight of your lives, son, literally," Bobby stated. "I'll get Jody in the know as well. We should prepare for a storm to show up here soon, and the people trust her. I know you don't want to be sitting ducks, but that's all we have right now.

"I have made sure all of the wardings are up and added more powerful ones as well," Cas pushed in. "Heaven also knows what is going on and will be looking to stop these demons as well. One will come should there be any information."

"We'll get out of your hair," Mary said, handing Emma back to Dean and kissing all three of her sons on the cheek. "We'll contact you when we get more information. Just hang in there for a bit." Mary gave them a strained smile before she turned to walk away.

Bobby gave his usually muffle of "don't do anything stupid," before they both left. The three men stood in the living room, not moving until they heard the sound of an engine slowly fade away. After a bit of silence, Emma broke it with a series of babbles and giggles, not realizing the world of trouble that would come knocking at their door.
