Chapter 28 Victory and Worry

Fili's POV. Kili had to catch her as she fell. I felt energy return as I sit up.

"What happened?" I ask.

"She healed you. You were at death's doors." Kili said. I felt her pulse. I breathed a sigh of relief as Bilbo ran over.

"She's alive." I said.

"Fili. Your alive?" Bilbo asked.

"Laila. She saved me." I said. Tauriel comes running. She had a look of relief on her face when she Kili was alive.

"Laila? What's wrong?" Tauriel asked.

"She used her healing to save me from death. Take her to safety, please Tauriel. I need to go help my uncle." I said. Tauriel hesitated.

"Take her. I'll go with the dwarves." Legolas said. I press a kiss to Laila's head and hand her over to Tauriel.

"Get her to Oin, please." I said. Tauriel nodded as she took Laila and headed to go down the ruins. Kili and I took off, running towards where the others ran. We killed orcs as we go. Legolas was fighting Bolg. I prayed to Mahal that Thorin was alright. We came across a river and saw Thorin and Azog fighting with Remi and Zarrek. Kili shots an arrow, hitting Azog in the back I pull out both my swords. Azog turns as I charge and slash him. I move out of the huge stone he had on his back.

"Fili!" Thorin said, shock was clear in his voice. Azog turns and he seemed shocked that I was alive. I swung my swords and got in a fighting stance as Kili stood at my side. Remi sends fire at Azog burning his eyes. Thorin attacks, taking Azog's distraction as an advantage. He sliced off most of the arm that held the stone and Azog yells in pain. I run and slash Azog in the back as Kili shoots a couple arrows in him. Thorin, who had Orcist again somehow yells and slashes off the head of Azog. We stood in silence as the head rolls. An eagle screech comes and we see the Eagles flying towards the marching army that Bolg led. Beorn jumps off one of the Eagles and starts attacking in his bear form. Thorin pulls me hard into an embrace.

"I thought I lost you." Thorin said.

"Laila. She saved me from death's door." I said.

"Impossible. She has never done that." Remi said.

"Looks like it is possible if she saved her prince." Zarrek said. We went to the edge and saw that the orcs were all defeated. Cheers rang through the crowd at the site of us. Thorin put a hand on both Kili and my shoulders.

"We did it. We reclaimed our homeland." Thorin said.

"Where's Laila?" Remi asked. I swore.

"She blacked out when she saved me. I sent her with Tauriel to get her to Oin." I said.

"Let's head down." Thorin said. I saw worry written on his face. We head down towards where the battlefield. Orcs were fleeing as dwarves, elves, and humans celebrated. Thranduil and Bard stood shaking hands. Dain came towards us.

"Glad to see ye survived." Dain said.

"Where are they taking the injured?" I ask. Dain pointed towards tents.

"Over there." Dain said. I ran towards the tents with Kili at my heals. Tauriel stepped out of the tent.

"How is she?" I ask.

"You'll have to talk to Oin." Tauriel said. I step in with her brothers, Thorin, and Kili. Laila was laying on a cot. She was very pale as Oin stood up and came up to us.

"How is she?" Thorin asked.

"She's alive, but barely. She's in a sleep rest." Oin said.

"What does that mean?" Kili asked.

"She might wake up or she might not. Only time will tell." Oin said. He put a hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry lad." Oin left. I go over to her and brush her hair out of her face.

"Come back to me, Princess." I said.

AN: So she's in a coma. Least she is alive. Till next time
