A/N: Here you are guys!

Chapter Twenty-Three: Hallie

A couple of days after the party, Hallie and the rest of her family had to head down to the court office, because Uncle Vernon was trying to make them lose their case by asking for a quick trial. The trial still wouldn't be happening until the summer since the police and social workers were still looking into how Hallie's and Harry's file got over looked; but they still had to be there today to give their statements. Hallie didn't want to think about this. She was hoping that they wouldn't have to ever talk about the abuse, but she knew that was wishful thinking on her part. Thankfully they were able to have Hermione come down with them… If Hermione couldn't have come, Hallie didn't know what she would do. Sure, she had Harry, Prim, and Ron, along with her grandparents, Dudley, and Aunt Petunia with them, but she needed someone who was extremely logical to get her out of her own head.

Harry and Prim had already been called back with Gran and Papa. Technically, Aunt Petunia was not supposed to be sitting with them but they had to have someone watch over them while their guardians were in with Harry and Prim. A police officer was also with them to make sure Aunt Petunia wouldn't try to persuade Hallie and Dudley into saying that Uncle Vernon was actually a good guy. Not that she would ever would since she's trying to divorce him, but the police officers don't care about that.

"Hals, don't worry. You won't even have to see him today. We are just seeing the ADA and his lawyer; no one else." Hermione whispers as she rubs circles into Hallie's right hand. Hallie wished she had her wand on her but they were instructed that she were not supposed to bring them into the court by their social worker.

"I know, Hermione… But I hate to even think about what HE did to Harry and me… Sorry, Dudley… I know he's your dad and all…" Hallie sighs and her leg starts to shake.

Dudley looked over at his cousin before sighing, "It's okay, Hals. I know who and what he is. You don't have to apologize when we all know how he is." Hallie nods her head and stares at the wall. Moments later, Harry and Prim walk out with one of the police officers.

"Hals, Dudley, they want you to follow Officer Burke and answers some question. We'll see you in a bit." Harry says as he pulls Hallie into a hug. "Remember what Seamus said on New Year's Eve about how brave you are. And yes, I know who gave you the necklace. We'll talk about it later," Harry whispers into her ear before letting her go. Prim and Hermione give her a quick hug and Ron gave her an uncomfortable smile before she started to walk away.

They walk until they get to an empty corridor. "Miss Potter, you're in here and Mr. Dursley, you are in this room." Hallie gives Dudley a small smile before she steps into the small room. Thankfully, Papa is in the room with her and she lets out a quick sigh.

"Miss Potter, please sit down." Hallie sits down quickly. "I am ADA Moore and the man sitting next to me is one of your Uncle's lawyers, Mr. Russell. We are both going to be asking you a few questions. Let's get started." Hallie nodded her head and Mr. Moore started to ask questions. "When were you placed in the care of your Aunt and Uncle?"

Hallie looked over at him before looking at her Papa. "Honey, he asked Prim the same questions. So, just go on."

"I was placed with them after my mum and dad died on Halloween night when I was just a one-year-old." She answered.

ADA Moore nodded his head and wrote down her answer. "And do you know what our records say for the death of your parents?"

"All I can say is what my Aunt and Uncle have told me. They died in a car accident." Hallie answered the question with her half-truth. "Is that what your records show?"

ADA Moore shook his head and looked at her sadly. "I'm sorry that I have to be the one that tells you this but our records show that they were murdered. I think your Aunt or Uncle wanted to spare you all that pain that comes with this knowledge."

"My Uncle Vernon wouldn't have cared about causing me pain… It had to have been my Aunt Petunia who decided to come up with that lie. Was he ever found?" Hallie asked, already knowing the truth as she watched the ADA shake his head 'no'.

"Miss Potter, how would you described your childhood?" Uncle Vernon's lawyer asked.

Hallie looked over at the heavy-set man and sighed. "For my whole childhood, I lived in fear of being killed by my Uncle Vernon… Or that he was going to kill my twin brother, Harry. I was thankful that I rarely got beaten but that was only – and I do mean only – because my brother threw himself in front of me ninety-nine percent of the time. He wasn't always there to do so. While Harry got the most of the physical abuse, my Uncle loved to emotionally abuse me and he did that by verbally abusing me."

She stared straight at Uncle Vernon's lawyer, trying to make him be the one that was uncomfortable. "And what role did your Aunt Petunia play in all of this."

"You will never hear me say that my aunt is a saint because she did slap us sometimes; but I've gotten to know my aunt – under the watchful eyes of my grandparents – to know that she loved us a tad bit because we were the last living things of her sister, my mum. She's told us how she wished she could've reconciled with my mum before they died. And she knows she didn't do right by us then, but she's trying to be a good mum and aunt now." Hallie told him.

Mr Russell looked down at his notepad before asking, "How often do you see your aunt? I hear that she's living back with her parents, your guardians."

Hallie looked over at Papa and waited, trying to figure out what she was supposed to say. "My brother, cousin, and I go to the same boarding school, so this has been the first time we've been back since she's moved back home. We leave on Sunday to go back to school."

"My daughter is never alone with them, Mr. Russell. My wife or I are always there at the house when our grandchildren are home. Also, child services have cleared her and are allowing her to live with us." Papa adds in.

Mr. Russell nods his head and look back down at his notepad. "And this boarding school you go to is St. Meadows Academy in Scotland, correct?" Hallie nods her head and he writes something down. "Now, does your aunt ever tell you what to say where it concerns your uncle?"

"No, the only thing she's said about him since we've been back was that she's filed for divorce. My aunt doesn't like to talk about that." Hallie answered truthfully. Uncle Vernon's lawyer nodded his head before asking more questions.

That went on for almost an hour. The ADA would ask one question and then Uncle Vernon's lawyer would ask what felt like twenty more questions. By the time ADA Moore said that they were free to go, Hallie's head felt like it was about to explode. "Come on, dear, let's go find our family." Hallie nodded her head and they walked out of the room and back down the corridor.

"Hallie!" She looked up just in time for Harry to crash into her and give her a firm hug. "Are you alright? I know you didn't want to do this."

"Harry, let her breathe, will you!" Hermione says as she carefully unwraps Harry's arms from Hallie.

Harry looked at their friend and shook his head. "Well? Are you going to say anything?"

"I'm fine, Harry. I held my own, didn't I, Papa?" Hallie said as she glanced up at their grandfather.

Papa smiled down at her before squeezing her shoulder. "That you did, dear, that you did. Now is Gran ready to leave?" Harry nodded and they walked back towards the group, so they could leave.

The drive back home was silent, deathly silent. Dudley had gladly given up his seat in Aunt Petunia's minivan, so that Hallie could ride with Hermione and Prim. Hallie still couldn't believe how much Dudley has changed since they've moved in with their grandparents. Maybe he had finally seen what type of man his father, her uncle truly was. And maybe he was scared that he could be just like him.

"Kids, we aren't heading straight home. We are going to be dropping Hallie and Harry off at their therapist. Your Papa and I both thought that after today, you would need to speak with her briefly. Today was pretty stressful on the two of you and we figured that seeing your therapist would be a good thing." Gran said as she turned to look at the three girls in the backseat.

"Don't you mean mind healer, Gran?" Hallie asked as she stared out the window.

Gran sighed but nodded her head, an act that Hallie didn't see. Hallie had been correct on how her and Harry needed to start seeing a mind healer for their parents' death. She also understood why their grandparents thought that making an appointment with her today was a good idea. The first time that they met her, was December twenty-ninth and she seemed pretty nice. She told them that her name was Penelope Cross and that her specialty is working with children who went through something traumatic. So, Hallie figured that Mrs. Cross meet her match with Hallie and Harry. Not only had they witness and basically killed their parents' killer, they also went through years of abuse by their aunt and uncle.

Moments later, Aunt Petunia's minivan pulled up right next to the door of the office building that Mrs. Cross had her practice. Hallie had noticed that everyone from Papa's car was walking up to Aunt Petunia's minivan. "Okay, dear, I'll stay and wait on them and you take Dudley and Ron home with you. We shouldn't be more than an hour or two."

"I'll make sure dinner is ready for when all of you get home. Come on kids, let's head on home. I love you, Harry and Hallie. Love you as well, Aiden." Papa laughed as he leaned in to kiss Gran's cheek.

"Thank you, my love." Papa said softly. Hallie and her brother said a quick bye and love you back to their Gran before walking into the building.

She followed her brother and Papa up into the elevator and then into Mrs. Cross's tiny waiting room. The room was done in a soft blue colour and had very little decorations other than of different types of flowers. A few moments later, the door to Mrs. Cross's office opened and Mrs. Cross walked out. "Hello again, Harry, Hallie. Please come in. Mr. Evans, we won't be too long today since we are going to do a group session." Papa nodded his head as Hallie and Harry stepped into her office. "I heard what the two of you had to do today. I'm just glad that you didn't have to see that horrible man. Now dears, come sit down."

Mrs. Cross was a very beautiful African-American woman in her late thirties, maybe early forties. During their first meeting, Mrs. Cross had showed them pictures of her family. She had married a Caucasian man and they had the cutest mixed-colour children. Their son, she had told them had just graduated from Hogwarts the year before and their daughter would be starting next year. "I would like to know how you felt having to talk about what your uncle did to you today?"

"I thought it would have been worse, but I think I handle it alright. The lawyer that I had wasn't too awful she wanted to know what Aunt Petunia's role was in the abuse. I guess they want to get her on a technicality or something. I did hate having to talk about all the beatings that I had received for all of the 'strange' things I did. Then the lawyer would ask that very same question yet again, like she was trying to get me confused, so that I would mess up or something." Harry said with a sigh as he leaned back into his seat.

Mrs. Cross nodded her head and looked off to the side. "Yes, most defence lawyers would do something like that. I do hate how I couldn't have also been there. I also know that ADA Moore will ask me to speak on your behalf when the trial starts up since I'm your therapist. Now, Hallie, you're being very quiet. How did you feel with being asked all of these questions?"

Hallie sighed and moved her eyes, so that she was focused on Mrs. Cross. "I hated it! We had to have one of our best friends come with us because I knew that I needed someone who was very logical to bring me out of my head. But Harry was right, being inside with the lawyers wasn't as bad as I thought it would've been. ADA Moore was extremely nice and if Mr. Russell's – one of Uncle Vernon's lawyers – questions were too hard to answer, Papa took over for me. I know actually seeing Uncle Vernon again during the summer for both of the trials would be very hard and I'm definitely not looking forward to it. Since getting away from him, I'm not this scared little girl anymore, I'm stronger now. But I'm afraid that seeing him again will make me revert back to that girl from last summer."

"Hallie, you're in Gryffindor, correct?" Mrs. Cross asks and Hallie nods her head 'yes'. "Well, that bravery is inside of you always. You're brave enough to confront your attacker. There are very few children that can confront the person that hurt them."

She sighed again but nodded her head. "One of our housemates, Seamus, said the very same thing on New Year's Eve. I just don't always believe that the Sorting Hat didn't make a mistake with me."

Mrs. Cross nods her head and sighs. "There are a lot of people who believe that the Sorting Hat sorts too early but nine times out of ten, the Hat is a pretty good judge of character. He must have saw something in you, dear, to place you in Gryffindor." Hallie nodded her head but she still wasn't convinced that she belonged in that great house.

The ride back to Hogwarts wasn't anything special; nor was the welcome back feast in the Great Hall. All Hallie could think about now was finding out more on Nicolas Flamel. Harry and she had decided the night before to use their Invisibility Cloaks to sneak into the Restricted Section of the library. Hermione had brought up looking in the Restricted Section before the break and Hallie had said something about it last night to her brother.

They had finally had a talk on Seamus and her breaking the rules and giving each other a gift for Christmas. Hallie told him the truth: she hadn't planned on getting Seamus anything until she saw the jumper while in Diagon Alley. If she had seen anything that any of their other friends would've loved, she would've given it to them; but she didn't see anything for them. Harry had just sighed but told her that the reason everyone thought Seamus and her were dating was because they did things like giving each other Christmas presents when they were not supposed to. Hallie just rolled her eyes at him and after that he dropped the subject of Seamus.

"Hey, Hals, you coming up to bed?" Hallie looked up from her seat by the fire and over at Prim.

She quickly found Harry's eyes and shook her head 'no'. "Not yet. I've missed this common room and want to stay up a bit longer." Prim and Hermione nod their heads and follow Ron up the stairs.

Hallie and Harry wait for what felt like five hours but it was truly only two hours since curfew set in. "Come on, let's go and get our cloaks. We don't want to be out too, too late since we have classes tomorrow." Hallie tells her brother as they sneak up the stairs and quickly but quietly grab their new cloaks before meeting by the portrait hole. "Are you ready?" Harry nods his head 'yes' and the two of them throw their Invisibility Cloaks on. They move quietly through the school and Hallie was glad that she remembered to grab a lantern on the way towards the library.

When they finally made it into the Restricted Section without any alarms going off, Hallie pulls her cloak off and makes the fire in the lantern come alive. "I hate how good you are at that!" Harry grumbles but sits his cloak on the opposite side of the lantern.

"Come on, let's find something on him." Hallie says with a sigh as she scans the titles of a few books. She went through a few titles before glancing at her brother. "Well, are you going to help me or are you just going to stand there like a bum?"

Harry glared at her before whispering, "When did you start acting so bossy? You're starting to sound like Hermione."

"Don't let Hermione ever hear you say that, Harry."

"Who said that it was a bad thing when it comes to her." Harry shoots back and Hallie rolls her eyes. They continue to go through the books before they finally find one over Nicolas Flamel. "Hallie! I found something on him!" Hallie quickly made her way to her brother and watched him open the book – to a screaming face trying to get out of the pages. Harry quickly slams the book shut and looks at Hallie with terrified eyes. "Do you think someone could've heard that?"

Hallie stared at her brother and looked over at where they had come in through. "I don't think-" she started to say until she heard Mrs Norris's distinct meow. "Harry! She's coming!" Hallie quickly grabbed the book out of her brother's hands before shoving it back in its place. Harry threw her cloak at her as he pulled his off of the table, knocking their lantern off of the table. He bent down to pick it up and Hallie screamed, "Leave it! Come on!" Harry nodded his head and they ran out of the Restricted Section and through the library, throwing on their cloaks.

When they made it into the corridor, Harry opened his cloak briefly to allow Hallie to slip in. She then pulled her cloak off and they quietly walked down the corridor. Being as quiet as they could, they walked until they heard voices talking quickly. Hallie looked over at her brother and they stopped right behind the two cloak figures.

"Ser-Serverus, wha-what are yo-you do-doing?" Professor Quirrell whimpered out in fear.

They watched as Professor Snape gripped Professor Quirrell's cloak tightly. "Quirrell, I'm not a good enemy that many wants to have."

"Wha-what eve-ever do y-you me-mea-mean?" Professor Quirrell whimpered.

Professor Snape glares at their Defence professor and says lowly, "I think you know exactly what I mean." Professor Snape looks up quickly and over at where Hallie and Harry were standing. Hallie looks over at her brother and quickly covers his mouth to soften his heavy breathing. The two first-year Gryffindors start to slowly step away from their professors as Professor Snape raises his hand and tries to grab their cloak. Finding out that no one is there, he turns back to Professor Quirrell. "We will have another chat soon. Decide where your loyalties are truly at."

Hallie thought that they were home free as they moved farther and farther away from their professors only for their hope to get dashed away as Filch runs up to them along with Heather and Drake. "Professors, there's a student out of bed." Filch holds up the lantern that Hallie had grabbed from one of the many corridors and she held her bed. "I found this in the restricted section of the library and on my way here, I found these two making their rounds."

"Professors, we should check the third corridor. I know someone had tried to check it out over the break." Heather said as she held Drake's hand, tightly.

Professor Snape nodded his head before he started to walk the direction that Hallie and Harry had come. "Well, are you coming? We have some searching to do. Quirrell, go and find Professor Dumbledore; and try to not mess it up. Miss Stewart and Mr. Wheeler, head back to your common rooms. Your own common rooms, Miss Stewart." Hallie pulled her brother to a storage room door and waited until everyone was far away until she opened the door enough for them to slide through. Both of them dropped their cloaks to the floor and turned to look at one another.

"Well, that was close." Hallie said with a shake of her head.

"I know." Harry answered and turned towards the back of the room. "Hals, look at this." She turned towards him and saw a huge but strange mirror at the back of the room.

"Harry, what is this?" He shook his head back walked up to it. Hallie watched her brother stare at his reflection in the mirror before he gasped. "What is it, Harry?"

She ran up to where her brother was standing and looked at his wide eyes in the mirror. "Hals, you have to look at this. It's mum and dad! They are in the mirror!"

"Harry, how is that even possible?" She asked but he just shook his head before pulling her front in center, so she could see for herself. "Mum? Dad? Harry, you were correct! It's mum and dad! And it looks like we have a little brother or sister in mum's arms. Harry, come, join me." She pulled her brother into the center of the mirror and they looked at their reflections in wonderment. Because their whole family was there. With their mum, dad, and little sister – at least in Hallie's opinion – was Prim, Dudley, Aunt Petunia, Gran, Papa, Melanie, Reid, and what was probably their family members on their dad's side. It was just so amazing, that Hallie was crying tears of both joy and sadness. Joy because she would always have this memory of her family in her mind; but sadness since she knew this would never actually be able to happen. "Harry… Harry, we need to head back to the common room before they start checking on them." She said with a sniffle.

Her brother nodded his head and they walked back over to their cloaks. Wrapping both of the cloaks around them, they make their way out of the storage room. "We need to bring Ron, Prim, and Hermione down here tomorrow night. I want to show them dad and mum."

"We should, we really should." Hallie agreed. The rest of the walk back followed in silence and once they were back in common room, they pulled off their cloaks and went their separate ways for bed.

The next afternoon, Hallie and Harry were sitting on the loveseat, speaking quietly, when Hermione, Prim, and Ron walked into the common room. Hallie looked up and over at their friends before grabbing Harry's hand and they walked quickly over to their friends. "Guys, we need to speak with you, in private."

Hermione looked up and saw how serious Hallie's face was. "Did you find out who Nicolas Flamel is?"

"No, but we did find something. Follow us." Hallie said and she started to walk out of the common room and she starts walking over to her favorite room. Once they got to the empty room, she turned towards them and said, "Ron, shut the door please." With the door shut, she looks around the room at her friends and cousin before finally saying, "Harry and I saw our parents last night. We don't understand how the mirror showed us them but it did… We want to take you guys there tonight, after everyone goes to sleep. Hermione and Prim will be with me under my cloak and Ron and Harry will be under Harry's cloak."

Prim looked back and forth between Hallie and Harry and look over at Ron and Hermione. "Okay, I'm okay with sneaking out later tonight to actually see my aunt and uncle." With that said, Ron and Hermione nod their heads and Hallie smiled.

"Then it's settled. We will all meet downstairs at midnight." Harry says with a smile.

Hermione shakes her head and says, "We should say like ten or eleven, so we aren't out too late."

Hallie rolls her eyes but agrees with Hermione that 10:30 would be a good time to head out. They walked out of Hallie's favorite room and down towards the Great Hall for dinner. All throughout dinner, she tried to join in on the conversations going around her at the Gryffindor's table; but nothing they were saying interested her in any way. Everyone wanted to know who gave her the lion necklace or where she bought it from but she was not saying a thing about it. Of course, Prim and Hermione knew where she got the necklace from, along with Harry; but she wasn't sure if he had told Ron yet.

"Hallie? Are you there?" Hallie looked up from her food – that she's barely touched – and over at Seamus.

"I'm sorry, what were you saying?" She questioned.

Seamus looked at her with concern before asking his question again. "Are you alright? You've been very quiet all day." Hallie looks over at the boy that is slowly becoming one of her favorite people at this school. Seamus is always able to make her laugh without meaning too – a.k.a. when he ends up blowing up an object while he's trying to master a spell.

"Yeah, I've just been thinking about my parents, is all. We have to start dealing with all the legal stuff with my uncle and I'm just a bit more strung out than normally." She tells him as she plays with the lion charm on her necklace.

He looked at her and when she said looked, she meant that he stared at her, trying to figure out if she was telling the truth. "I'm sure all of that is awful, but remember what your necklace means."

Hallie smiles and shakes her head with a sigh. "Yes, Seamus, I remember what the lion is supposed to mean." She rolls her eyes and looks over at where her cousin and brother are sitting and sighs. "Will they ever stopped asking who gave me the necklace? If not, then maybe I should just tell them. Sure, they will be mad at us for breaking the rules but we could always say that you gave it to me as a birthday present or something."

Seamus looks over to where their friends are sitting and shakes his head. "No, it's not a good idea. If they found out that I gave it to you, the rumors about us dating will never end. I mean, the only person that I've told about it is Dean but that's because he's my best friend. Have you told anyone?" Seamus whispered to her.

"Harry knows because he was present by accident when we gave each other the gifts and Hermione and Prim know. I'm not sure about Ron, though. He hasn't made a comment or anything it." Hallie whispered back and he nodded his head.

"What are you two whispering about over there? Planning a secret date or something?" Lavender asks from a few seats down.

Hallie rolls her eyes before glaring at the girl. "No, Lavender. Seamus was asking a question about the necklace and then he asked for some help on Charms. We are not dating and I wished everyone would stop saying that we are." With that, she stands up. "I'm not very hungry. I'll see you guys later." She walks out of the Great Hall and towards the Gryffindor Tower.

Once she made it back up to the Gryffindor Tower, she rushed over to the loveseat in front of the fireplace. Looking down, she saw that Cleo was already laying on one of the cushions, waiting for her. "Hey, girl." She picked up her familiar and settled down onto the loveseat. "I probably should've gotten me a book to read before sitting down but I'm truly exhausted today, Cleo. I forgot how difficult the classes here could be…"

Cleo meowed and made herself into a ball on top of Hallie's chest. "I swear, it feels like you are the only one who understands me the best." Cleo meowed again and rubbed her face against Hallie's hand. "I love you, Cleo."

What felt like hours later, Hallie was woken up by a quick jolt of her shoulder. "What?" She asked as she wiped at her eyes.

"Sorry, Hals. I allowed you to sleep as long as I could but it's 10:30 and everyone is already asleep." Prim said softly.

Hallie rubbed at her eyes again before opening them. "Um, okay… Let me go get my cloak."

"I already got it, Hals. Come on, Harry, Ron, and Hermione are waiting for us over by the portrait hole." Prim said again and that's when Hallie finally noticed that Prim did in fact have her cloak.

"Okay, help me get Cleo off without waking her too much." Prim smiled and they both moved Cleo off of her chest and onto the loveseat. With that, Hallie stood up and followed Prim over to where her brother and their friends were standing. "I guess everyone is ready?" She sighed as she saw each and every one of them nod their heads 'yes'. "Okay, let's go then." She wrapped her invisibility cloak around her, Prim, and Hermione and watched as Harry did the same with him and Ron. After they were completely sure that no one could see them, they made their way towards the room that held the mirror.

Once they were safely in the room with the mirror, both Hallie and Harry rip off the cloaks and run up towards the mirror. "Mum." Hallie said with a sigh.

"Dad," Harry says as well. "We truly weren't dreaming." Harry looked behind him before calling Ron, Prim, and Hermione over. Hallie moved out of the way to allow Ron to look with Harry. "See, Ron. It's my parents."

Ron looks at the mirror as Harry stared at him and he sighed. "Sorry, Harry. I can't see them."

"Harry, maybe he needs to be in the center of the mirror, so he can see them?" Hallie says from her place by Hermione and Prim.

Harry nods his head before pulling Ron into the center of the mirror and asked what Ron saw. "I see me… But I'm older… And I'm in a Quidditch uniform. I'm the captain! And Head Boy. We've just won the Quidditch cup. All of you are there with me and… And we are all safe and happy."

"You don't see our parents at all?" Hallie asks with doubt creeping in. How did Harry and I see our mum and dad in the mirror?

Ron sighs and shakes his head sadly. "Let me try, Ron. Their parents are my family, so I should be able to see them." Prim says as she bumps Ron out of the picture. Hallie watches her cousin's face and she sighs in disappointment a few moments later. "I see my mum and dad… Not together but being friendly. My dad is smiling as he watches me perform spell work. How is it possible that this mirror is showing all of us something different? Hermione, why don't you try the mirror?"

Hermione nods her head and Prim moves out of the way, so that she would be in the center of the mirror. After a few moments, Hermione finally says, "We are all seventeen to eighteen; and we are graduating from Hogwarts. I'm… I'm valedictorian and Harry… and Hallie are alive and well. To be honest, we all are." Hermione finished with a blush and Hallie knew that wasn't what Hermione was going to say regarding Harry. "Guys, I'm sorry… But I didn't see your parents either…"

"Hermione, let me look again. There was an unknown couple in the mirror when I looked." Prim said as Hermione moved out of the view of the mirror. A second later, Prim calls out. "The couple I see in the mirror might be Aunt Lily and Uncle James. But we should head back. We have classes again tomorrow." Hallie grumbled but went to where she had left her cloak. Once everyone was situated back under the cloaks, they made their way back towards the Gryffindor Tower.

The next night, Hallie waited until everyone was asleep and pulled on her mum's invisibility cloak. She makes her way out of her dorm room and stops when she hears something moving behind her. "Cleo, stay here."

"Meow!"

"Oh, Merlin's sake! Come on." She continues walking down and without realizing it, bumps into something solid. "Ow!"

"Hallie?"

"Harry? What are you doing?"

"I could ask you the same thing, but I'm pretty sure it's the same thing that I'm doing. Come on, let's head to the mirror. But carry Cleo since she might give us away." Harry says and Hallie rolls her eyes but picks up her familiar anyways.

The Potter twins make their way to the room with the mirror and once they were there, they sit down side by side and see their parents. "If mum and dad were here, do you think our little sibling would be a girl or a boy?"

"I'm not sure… I wouldn't mind a little brother but I would love a little sister. What would you have liked to have?" Harry asked his sister.

"One of both… They had the money to support two more children. But when I look in the mirror, I normally see a baby girl."

Harry nods his head and puts his arm around her. "Me too, Hals, me too." Hallie smiles at him before leaning her head onto his shoulder. She was not sure how long they were sitting like that until they hear the door opening. Both Hallie and Harry's head spring up and look at the door. "Professor!" Harry says as he jumps up.

"Harry, my boy; Hallie. I see you have found the Mirror of Erised." Professor Dumbledore says with a sad shake of his head.

Hallie looks back and forth between her brother and their Headmaster. "The Mirror of Erised? That's what it says?"

Professor Dumbledore nods and shakes his head and reads, "Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi."

"What does that mean, Professor?"

"I show not your face but your heart's desired. Can you figure out what this mirror shows you?" Professor Dumbledore asks.

Hallie looks at herself in the mirror before saying, "The mirror shows what we want the most in life. So for both Harry and me, what we want most in life is our parents and either a little brother or sister."

"That is correct, Miss Potter."

Harry looks from the mirror to the Headmaster. "Professor, what do you see?"

Professor Dumbledore moves, so that he is in front of the mirror before saying. "I see myself holding a nice pair of wool socks. I don't need or want much besides socks." Professor Dumbledore chuckles. "But others, like yourself and Hallie, could waste away in front of something like this; which is way I am having it moved tonight. I discourage you to go looking for it, Mister and Miss Potter. Now off to bed. It's well past midnight and you do still have classes to attend in the morning." Harry and Hallie nod their heads 'yes' and Hallie picks up Cleo and her cloak.
