The centuries kept moving on ahead and for Rose, time here on Earth was more cruel than wonderful. Humanity was still a wonder to her, but now she was starting to question humanity. Quetzan and his sister Cory were now gem look alikes. They practically sold their soul for power and Zigi tried to stop it. In the end, he gave in. But Zigi was gone. He was not around no more. It was now the newly wicked Quetzan and his cohort Cory. They were no longer friends, They were now twisted and evil. Rose knew that in part, perhaps some of it was contributed by her. The voices did stop, but from to time, her own concience bothered her. But she chose to ignore it, just as she has done in the past. During this ever changing period of the world, humanity began to build more civilazations that were somehow stable, yet they fell with each passing war. Rose, Garnet, Pearl and now Amethyst chose not to meddle in humanity's dark periods in time. But Rose was well awar of the times as she heard whispers from many humans who lived near the temple and close to the beach.

Quetzan, now a dark invisible force, somehow contributed to the stupidity of man. Rose has heard of eerie stories that somehow reflected the Gem wars with Homeworld. Castles that once were the home of kind or corrupt Kings and Queens fell. Many bad people conspired in the killing of people who chose to make a difference in life. And powerful hate groups that almost destroyed the life out of millions. Rose and the Gems seldom intervened, but there were times when they had to offer the temple as a sanctuary for humans who were terrified of the ever changing landscape. Century after century, Rose and the crystal gems were now practically a family of four living in the temple, far from the outside world. From time to time of course, they would use the warp pads to venture out in abandonded Gem facilites to either stop a corrupted gem, or sometimes, almost inevitably, Quetzan himself would arrive to fight the Crystal Gems. Only Rose would rise against him, hoping that Quetzan would never reveal her true nature.

At long last... the outside world began to change ever so slowly and soon the humans who lived near the temple founded a small town, and in time, they gave it a name. Beach City. Little by little, the town grew with houses, friendly human folk that chose to live near the ocean and soon the town became what is now known to this day. However, during that time, the Crystal Gems put a fence around the temple, in hopes that humans were not to interfere with Gem activities. In time, vandals arrived to do harm to the temple by writing graffiti or doing some nocturnal activities. Once, Garnet caught two teenagers practically having a go a it near a rock, with their clothes all over the sand, and Garnet sent them flying over the fence, naked and all! Amethyst laughed very hard that day.

"Your a savage beast Garnet! You should do that more often!" cried Amethyst.

"I am hoping those savages won't return. This is the seventh time this week I caught humans doing some dirty work here." said Garnet.

"Remember that time you saw this man throw a body at the beach?" asked Amethyst.

"Don't remind me." said Garnet.

Rose appeared before them all, feeling a little moody that afternoon. "Humanity seemed to have lost it in all this time." she said.

"Well the humans have changed their styles and thier ways of living over time. I remember when they used to make bonfires and dance in front of a flame for the fun of it." said Pearl smiling. She actually liked those warm memories. But for Rose, those memories opened some deep wounds.

"I'll be back friends. I need to go out for a walk if you don't mind." said Rose.

"Take your time." said Garnet.

After Rose left, Amethyst looked at Pearl. "Don't bring that sort of thing up! Remeber that Rose's ex is our number one enemy and he used to do that with Rose! According to you guys. I was never there." said Amethyst.

"I'm sorry. I thought the memory would cheer her up. That last encounter with Quetzan was so... awful." said Pearl.

"The question remains... how come Rose wants to fight him alone? Why can't we help?" asked Amethyst.

"Because Rose is the hero. And she knows we will all be shattered by that maniac." said Pearl.

"We really shouldn't speak about him here. He's kind of like a Demon. Invoking his name is like inviting him to the Temple. Let's keep our mouths shut." said Garnet.

Rose walked alongside the beach slowly and crossed over the fence. From time to time, Rose would sneak off and look at how humans have changed over time. She saw the new buildings with light on them, she saw different foods that didn't exist centuries ago, and she would sometimes listen to the music that was also created in time. Music. The one thing that soothed Rose to the core. As she walked down town in Beach City, she heard a guitar tune. And then she heard a voice. She got closer and heard singing from a distance. She followed the source of the sound and found herself looking at a stage. And on said stage was only one performer, singing his heart out while there was no body there to listen. Except for Rose that is.

Some say I have no direction. That I'm a lightspeed distraction. But that's a kneejerk reaction.Still this is the final frontierEverything is so clearTo my Destiny I steerThis life in the stars is all I ever knownStars and stardust and infinite space is my only homeBut the moment that I hit the stageThousands of voices are calling my nameAnd I know in my heartIt's been worth it all of the whileAnd as my albums fly off from the shelvesHanding out authographed pics of myselfThis life I've chose isn't easyIt sure is one heck of a rideAt the moment that I hit the stageI hear the universe calling my nameAnd I know deep down in my heartI have nothing to fearAnd as the solar wind blows through my hairKnowing I have so much more left to shareA wandering spirit who's tearing it's wayThrough the cold atmosphereI fly like a cometSour like a cometCrash like a cometI"m just a comet

Rose began to clap. What she has just heard was a beautiful power ballad and in her mind a torch song of being yourself. She decided to walk up and meet this strange young human who loved to sing and dance onstage. She looked at his desk as he sat on his chair.

"Space Train to the Cosmos." read Rose aloud as she looked at one of the young man's albums.

"Yeah! One way ticket and I'm ready to RIIEd!" sang the young man.

"Then how are you going to get back?" asked Rose.

"What?" asked the young man.

"Back to Earth?" asked Rose.

"I'm never coming back" said the young man.

Rose quickly spoke. "That's awful! This is your home." she said softly.

The young man looked at her curiously and nodded.

"You want it? You can take it. It's free. And you can have this T shirt. But you probably might need a bigger one. I'll go get one in the van!" cried the young man.

Rose was delighted to have met this strange human, but then she heard that damn voice in her head.

"You Cheater".

Quetzan's voice. Rose turned and quickly ran to the temple, leaving the poor young man looking for her free shirt, what ever that meant.

Rose arrived at the temple and saw Cory standing on a rock. She looked at Rose and smiled.

"Ah. Love. To be young again..." said Cory.

"What do you want?" asked Rose.

"Quetzan has a message for you. Meet us where you killed Bismuth. We have something that might peak your interest." said Cory.

"What?" demanded Rose.

"The Breaking Point... Bismuth never threw it away. It's hidden away. We will find it, and we will use it... against all of you." said Cory with her eyes burning brightly.

"What has happened to you and Quetzan over the centuries?! In the beginning, you and he were good souls! People loved you both for being kind and caring to the villagers! But as time passed. you all changed and became humanity's monsters!" cried Rose.

"That was our nature since the beginning. We were never saints Rose. We were already planning this for a long time. But when you arrived... we used you to our advantage." said Cory.

"Your all sick." said Rose.

"Please... don't flatter me... Pink Diamond." said Cory.

Rose then threw her sword directly at Cory, but then she vanished. Rose angrily looked at the horizon and walked back to the temple.

"You two will not have your way!" said Rose as she was about to use the warp pad. However, something stopped her. She heard some voices coming from the temple. She quickly went to see what the fuss was about. And low and behold there was the young man whom Rose met earlier, now interrogated by Pearl, Amethyst and Garnet. Then she saw them carry him away, to throw him over the fence!

"Wait! Mr. Universe?!" cried Rose. If she remebered correctly, that was probably his name.

She ran over to help him up after Garnet dropped him on the floor. "Are you alright?" she asked.

"Mr. Universe" stood up and looked at Rose with enchanted eyes.

"You know this human?" asked Pearl suddendly.

"He was playing a concert at the beach and I couldn't help myself." said Rose softly.

"No once could ignore the universe! Oh, here's your shirt!" cried the young man as he gave Rose the shirt he promised to give her.

"Oh thank you!" she cried. The other Gems got a little close to see her new gift. "His gimmick is space." she said aloud.

"Hey, play something music man!" cried Amethyst.

"Better make it good." said Garnet summoning her gauntlet on her hand.

"Yeah, I'm working on this new song it's going to kill in my next show! Oh no! I forgot! I have to get going to do this show at another city! It's not far from here! If I don't make it, my partner is going to fry me up." said the young man.

"Well, you don't want to miss your next train to the cosmose." said Rose.

"I hope the starts alighn for us to meet again!" cried the young man as he waved goodbye to the others and ran off.

"Good luck!" cried Rose.

As the young man was gone, Pearl looked up at Rose. "I can sing." she said.

Both Garnet and Amethyst began to chuckle.

"What?" asked Pearl.

"Oh friends. How I wish we can just talk. But we have not time. Shortly before you encountered Mr. Universe here, I met up with Cory." said Rose.

"What did she want?" asked Pearl.

"The usual. She wants me to face her brother in hand to hand combat again." said Rose.

"Let us help you this time!" cried Garnet.

Pearl quickly stepped in. "Quetzan is too powerful. He's like... super powered." said Pearl.

"Yeah, like that angry blonde dude on TV!" cried Amethyst.

"But Rose, what if he shatters you!?" cried Garnet.

"You can see the future. Do you see me in victory?" asked Rose.

"I... I do. But at a great cost." said Garnet.

"Well whatever the cost is, I'll pay for it." said Pearl, standing before the other gems.

"No one will do such thing. Quetzan is a powerful enemy. I will go and finish him off. The three of you stay here. Cory might attack the temple while I am away." said Rose.

"I can't wait to kick that chick's butt!" cried Amethyst.

"Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst, this is a tall order. I know it is. But take care of the temple and if you both see Cory, you must destroy her. She is not a Gem. She is a demon. A monster that terrorizes humanity. Earth is our home and we dedicated our lives to protect it. This is something we all have to do." said Rose.

Rose then heard Quetzan's voice in her head again. "Well... are you coming?"

Rose turned to the warp pad. "I am."
