Ye Who Enter Here

Toby POV

Bellamy and the others came back to camp anxious, and talking in hushed voices. After waking up from the memories that had ensnared my dreams I took a walk and met them at the gate.

"Toby!" Bellamy calls out when he spots me walking up to the group. He jogs over and stands in front of me uneasily. We haven't really spoken since what happened in the mountain.

I cross my arms and avoid his gaze uneasily. "You're back. How did it go?"

"We found her." He's out of breath and his eyes dart around camp. "Kane and the others are going back for her."

I place a hand gently on his bicep to offer some small amount of comfort. "They didn't let you go too?"

"No, they thought it was best if I stayed back." He says angrily. "I hurt my leg."

I look down and notice the blood seeping through the pants. I swallow my own anxiety and give him what I hope is a reassuring smile. "Go grab your girlfriend and I'll get Raven to take us out for a bit." I turn my gaze to the forest. "I can't stay in here for very long."

The Rover slows to a jolting stop and we swing the doors wide as we all pile out. It was a bit squished since Octaiva rode with us instead of on her horse. Bellamy and what's her face had a brief gag-worthy moment that Raven and I rolled our eyes at when we made eye contact.

"You guys. Did I ever tell you how I saved Sinclairs ass on the Ark?" She says smugly.

Octavia shoulders her pack. "Please don't." She says, annoyance lacing her words.

"You mean the time you went rogue on a spacewalk?" What's her face smiles.

My eyes light up at the mention of the great beyond. "What was it like? I can't ever imagine going out into space."

I pick up my own bag slowly, eyeing the entrance to Mount Weather with growing anxiety. I can still feel the pain in my joints where Cage drilled holes through my bones.

"It's the best feeling you can ever experience." Raven says, noticing the hesitation in my step.

We continue the conversation through the halls of the mountain. I focus on every word Raven tells me about what it's like to be floating in the middle of the whole universe with nothing but a flimsy elastic to tether you to something solid.

When we reach the main hall of the mountain we hear music blaring from the speakers and all the tables are set up with more of the Ark people stationed around them eating.

"Welcome! Come, join us." One of them walks over to us and Octavia and Bellamy step down the stairs to meet him.

"Someone's made themselves at home." Raven meets my eye and we share a gaze filled with hatred for the mountain.

"There must be thirty of them in here." Octavia calls back to the rest of us.

The man steps closer forward. "Thirty-six, but the more the merrier." He says happily.

Bellamy shakes his hand and steps around him.

"Thirty-six. Wow, the grounders are going to think we moved in." Octavia mentions sarcastically. I can't help but love her when she talks like that.

After a quick back and forth Octavia hands her bag off to Raven and leaves. I can't blame her and I have half a mind to follow her out the door screaming.

Bellamy motions forwards to meet the man. "This is Pike."

I shake his hand warily. "Tatianna."

He looks me up and down trying to place me. "You're not from the Ark."

"I'm from the ground." I tell him. Hoping we'll be able to drop it.

He doesn't and looks to Bellamy for an explanation. "She was in a bunker in cryo freeze. Clarke and I found her there."

I grit my teeth and let my eyes close. I know that only Raven and Sinclair really know what cryo freeze is. The others can only guess. Pike stares at me for a moment as if he can look directly into my soul.

I turn to Bellamy. "I'm going for a walk."

I don't wait for him to respond and I walk out of the dining hall with his eyes boring into my back. I can feel the worry radiating off of him. He didn't want me back in here, not after how I left it last time.

The door to the art warehouse has been broken in, and most of the paintings have been moved into Arcadia. However, the scent of ancient oils and acrylics still lingers in the air, as do the few paintings the Ark citizens didn't think were worth keeping.

The Girl with the Pearl Earring is propped up against a rack, dust covering it, caking it. A shiver runs through me at the memories it brings up, and it takes all of my self-control not to vomit. I back away until I hit a wall and slowly drop to the floor.

The ghosts of all the dead mountain people crowd around me and I feel stifled. Tears drip down my cheeks and create patterns in the concrete floor. Sobs echo through the warehouse and it's almost poetic that there are so many painted people with ears, yet no one around to hear me.

Eventually my cries fade into sniffles and I'm able to catch my breath. It's ragged and hiccuping, but at least it feels like I can breathe. The lights flicker above my head and I know that something's not right. Raven was supposed to be working on the lights.

I stand up and slowly walk my way back to the dining hall. I spot Bellamy standing with his arms crossed. He has his familiar worried frown written across his face and I pick up my pace, trying to reach them faster. I reach them just as the commotion seems to be picking up.

"Listen up! Okay, if we want to get to Polis before the attack we have to move." Bellamy decides.

Sinclair stands at attention while I slink in beside Bellamy. "Attack?" He questions. "Do we have confirmation of that?"

Bellamy shifts his weight closer to me. "We radioed… but no one answered."

"They may already be dead for all we know." PIke starts to get frustrated. "If they are, we need to be ready to respond."

I put a hand out gently. "We need all the facts first. This is how wars start." I try to reason.

Pike turns to me. "These are our people. Not yours. I don't know where you're from but stay out of this one."

I turn away from the others as they continue to argue. PIke brings up missiles and eventually they all storm out of the room. Leaving Bellamy, myself and whoever she is behind. She steps forward and runs her fingers through his hair before they kiss and share a quiet conversation. Afterwards she steps away and follows the others.

Bellamy turns to me and flicks his eyes over my face, I try to keep my expression as neutral as possible.

"Was that about Clarke?" I ask tentatively.

He nods. "Echo said an assassin was on the way to Polis to kill the enclave we sent to the commander."

"I'm coming with you." I tell him. There's no note of questioning in my voice.

He shakes his head and steps towards me. "Toby you need to stay here." I watch him stare at the tear tracks on my cheeks. "Go back to Arkadia, and get some rest."

"I've been resting Bellamy. I was tied down for weeks down here, and then I was under lock and key in Arkadia." I push away the hand that reaches out for me. "I never got to see Clarke."

We lock eyes and exchange looks. His is full of sadness and worry, and mine is determined. I end up winning and I step towards him. I pull him into a hug and close my eyes.

"Fine. I should stop treating you like a child." He smiles.

I give him a wide grin. "I am older than you dummy."

Pike and Bellamy rush forwards and take out the two guards in charge of the lift. I help Bellamy to stand and quickly cross myself, never taking my eyes off the bodies.

"What's wrong with you. You didn't have to kill them." Octavia says angrily.

Bellamy leans on my shoulder for a moment longer. "Yeah I did." He slides open the door and turns his gaze to Echo. "How many floors?"

She gives him a grim look. "All of them."

Bellamy enters the elevator shaft first, then me; the others follow not long behind. It's going to be a long journey up the tower. We climb for a few moments longer and quickly pull ourselves up. Bellamy and Octavia enter guns and swords blazing, whereas I left mine behind at the bottom of the elevator.

"Bellamy!" Clarke yells, spotting him first.

He pushes a guard out of the way. "The summit is a trap. We have to get you out of here." He informs her.

I slink my way over to Kane and Abby. I grab their arms gently and nod towards the door.

"What the hell is going on?" Clarke turns to who I assume is the commander.

She looks angry. "I don't know."

"It's the Ice Nation." Bellamy says.

A different grounder steps up. "These allegations are an outrage. The Ice Nation never stormed this summit with weapons. Breaking our laws. That was the Skaikru!"

The commander watches all this with an anxious look painted over her face.

"We're right about this." Pike joins in. "The two guards you left behind are dead already. We need to go, now!"

"How did you come by this information!" The commander demands.

I step towards the commander with my arms raised. "We were told by Echo. She's from Azgeda."

We all look at each other and then around the room. "Where the hell is Echo?" Octavia asks.

"What's going on? Where the hell is she?" Bellamy asks no one in particular.

"Bell maybe we were wrong about this." Octavia suggests quietly.

I grit my teeth. "She was setting us up."

Kane strides towards Bellamy and pushes his gun down. "Stand down."

"Bellamy! Bellamy come in!" Raven's voice is frantic over the radio. "The grounders attacked Mount Weather."

He raises the radio. "What are you talking about?"

"It's gone. It's gone." Raven's voice cracks as she repeats that phrase over and over again. "They're all gone. Sinclair and I are the only ones left. I'm so sorry."

The sounds of her cries echo through the chamber, a few voices start to pick up.

"You should have never moved your people back into Mount Weather. The Ice Nation did what Lexa was too weak to do!" He turns on her.

She struts down to him. "This is an act of war. Sentries arrest the Ice Nation delegate!" She nearly screams. "Including the prince."

As the two men are dragged out of the room I catch Lexa's eye, she's fuming and furious. But none of her people were killed. As far as I was told, she doesn't care about any of us. I watch her turn her gaze to Clarke and suddenly I understand a lot more.

"We need to get home." Abby states. She and Kane stare at each other for a moment before she continues. "If they attacked Mount Weather Arkadia could be next."

"I agree." Kane nods.

"Go. Marshal your forces, we'll avenge the attack together." She states.

We quickly get bundled to the edge of the room.

"Clarke, we need to leave now." Bellamy tells her.

"We need an ambassador from the 13th clan to stay here in Polis."

Bellamy looks like he's about to object, but when I catch Clarkes eye I put a hand on his arm. I nod to her to let her know I support her choice. Both to stay, and in women.

We leave the throne room quickly, rushing to get back to Arkadia before anything else can happen today.
