And another one...
Could Bella tell this person what she wanted? Her deepest secrets? Would he laugh at her? So far, he'd talked to her like an adult. He'd respected her views and encouraged her thoughts. But would he understand her needs?
"I want to live, Edward!"
"Bella, living is easy. How you live is something completely different. You can go through each day, doing exactly the same thing, never changing a moment of your life. That's living. That's just basics. But to live, to actually live and enjoy every moment, you have to give it your all… You have to want to live, to chase your dreams, to get to where you're happy," Edward was smirking at Bella in a way that should have irritated her, but it didn't.
She felt her stomach flutter a little and her thighs clench. Was this how she was supposed to feel?
She was so confused. It was wrong, right? He was a fully grown adult, a few years older than her.
But did that make a difference? To her, no. Not to Charlie, either, it seemed. It didn't make a blind bit of difference.
"I want more than this life. I want to live, Edward. Really live," she replied quietly, confused a little of her feelings for him.
My daughter is eighteen (gulps) at the end of the month and she's quite similar to Bella in maturity levels. She's not a kid and hates being treated like one. Bella's rant is similar to how Lou feels about a lot of things. Not all of them, though lol.
