DM – another meeting?
HG – Yes, this one is work, I promise.
DM – that's what you said last week, but I came to your office and you came deliciously all over my face.
HG – well, after the first time, I thought we ought to continue the tradition.
DM – It's been 3 weeks. 3 times I've come to your office for the usual Friday meeting and all 3 times you've jumped me.
HG – Are you complaining Malfoy?
DM – Absolutely not, I'm actually very happy. Which is baffling my co-workers.
HG – Well, I'm also very happy which is baffling… every single person I know.
DM – shall I attend this meeting today and leave the door open then?
HG – I can't guarantee I won't resort to my private room
DM – you have a private room? Now this I have to see.
HG – we haven't ever gotten past my desk, I never got a chance to show you.
DM – that's not true, two weeks ago I fucked you against the back of the door.
HG – and how grateful I am for that kindness you bestowed upon me
DM – I'm spoiling you
HG – Malfoy, you've already spoilt me for every single other man there is
DM – I can't help it if your body is fucking divine and I want to worship it
HG – feel free to do so anytime
DM – And vice versa
Malfoy arrived at her office that day for their meeting, not bothering to greet Hilary, instead, just walking on into her office.
He closed the door behind himself and rushed over to where she sat, taking her face in his hands and crashing their lips together.
"Oh, well, hello to you too" she said.
"I've just had the worst fucking morning" he said, as he picked her up off the chair and held her close while he kissed her.
Somehow, in the three weeks since the first time they had sex in her office, they had wanted nothing more than to be near each other all the time. They spoke of it often via text and had both decided that they had just been so compatible, physically, that they were sort of becoming addicted to one another.
Their texts had mostly been sexual in nature at first, however, over the weeks, they had began to talk more about themselves and each other, about their day, about their happy times and their down days. Hermione had begun to get excited when she opened her flip phone and saw that she had a text from him. It was an excitement that she hadn't ever known before. Perhaps in the early days of dating Ron and he'd owl her a note, but this lust fuelled affair had her feeling absolutely beside herself with how amazing she felt.
Ron hadn't bothered to notice. They barely spoke to one another. She came home from work each day and straight to Rose for play time and Ron was usually outside or working till late. She thought that he may have been having an affair of his own but decided that it wasn't his style. He didn't have the capacity to coordinate something as complex as what Hermione and Malfoy had.
"You missed me that much?" she asked, while Malfoy hung on to her.
"I just missed… Well, I suppose, yes I missed you" he said, having hesitated.
"Wow, Malfoy, be careful" she said teasingly. They had joked over the last couple of weeks about how close they had been getting and they had both decided that this was purely lust fuelled and they were using each other to fill a gap that they had in their 'actual' relationships.
"Relax Granger, I'm in control" he said, swatting her backside and he took a seat across from her chair at the desk.
"What's the matter?" she asked, as he ran his hands through his hair. It seemed serious.
"Work is fine, the team is great actually. Everything is on track, no legal issues to be concerned with" he said.
"Astoria?" she asked.
"She is just completely nuts. She drinks and then starts fights with me, she lacks any potential for intellectual stimulation, she is sleeping with at least three other men and still tries to get me to shag her. You say I've spoilt you for other men Granger, but I think you've got it twisted" he said.
She walked around the desk and crouched down beside him, smoothing his hair in a soothing manner.
"Leave her" she said.
"Its not on the cards at the moment. There's too much to consider" he said.
"Like what Malfoy? She's making you miserable" she said.
"Leave Ron" he directed, looking her directly in the eyes.
"That's different, we have a child" she said.
"And Astoria and I are married. See, life isn't just simple" he said, getting up and pacing the room.
"Of course its not simple, Malfoy. That's why we've come to each other. We are the simple element that we each need in life" she said.
"But for how long Granger? How long can we keep this up for?" he asked.
"As long as necessary" she said.
"No. I don't think so. I think it's becoming too complicated" he said.
"So… you want to stop?" she asked.
"No I don't want to bloody stop" he said.
"Well, we keep going then" she said.
"Until?" he asked.
"Until its too much" she offered.
"And how will we know?" he asked.
"Merlin Malfoy, I don't know. I don't go around having affairs every day of my life. I think that when the time comes, we'll know" she said.
"Ok, fine" he said.
"Shall we do some work?" she asked.
"Did we just have a fight?" he asked with a smile.
She smile back and rolled her eyes.
"If that's a fight, then count me in" she said, walking to where he now stood and putting her arms around his torso. "This is nice" she said after a minute.
She felt him exhale a long held breath as he rested his chin on the top of her head.
"You know Malfoy, I think you're now my best friend" she said.
Hermione lay in her bed after Ron had fallen asleep during sex for the umpteenth time. It was now so common, that she barely flinched when he did it. She just waited till his breathing grew heavier and rolled him off her before rolling onto her side.
This night, she chanced sending a text to Malfoy while laying beside her fiancé.
HG – How's things at Malfoy Castle?
DM – Dull
HG – same here
DM – he fall asleep again?
HG – how could you tell?
DM – intuition
HG – are you outside my window?
DM – Of course
HG – I wouldn't be surprised, you always have struck me as the stalker type
DM – Stalker? I'm hurt
HG – Well, stalker, I hope you injure yourself climbing down from the trestle
DM – you're so nasty to me, its like you hate me
HG – and you're so good to me, I'd say you'd love me no matter what I said to you
DM – you're probably right
Hermione stared at the last message in stunned disbelief. She hadn't meant to say 'love' in the previous message and tried to cancel the message as it sent, but she had been too late. The L word was now out and Malfoy hadn't even flinched at it.
HG – you love me?
DM – I know I feel something Granger. It might not be love, but it's something
HG – I feel the same way
DM – great. Now that's cleared up, you can go back to insulting me
HG – Speaking of insults, tomorrow is your birthday
DM – of course, the biggest insult yet
HG – I can't exactly give you a gift, can i?
DM – We'll go for lunch
HG – I look forward to it
AN - Throwing the L word around. This cant be good. Can it?
