Chapter 29: Secret of the Ring
Uraraka's P.O.V
5 days until I-Expo!
Deku and I were walking around I-Island since it was a free day and we had nothing scheduled.
The breeze was blowing gently and I watched as the sun was beginning to set. The heat from today's weather begun to settle down.
We saw people walking around enjoying the various amusement of I-Island.
Although I was enjoying my time with my Deku, something kept coming up in my mind.
I begun to think back to what happened a few weeks ago.
Flashback
I was walking around UA's campus when I heard some giggles.
I followed the sounds and I saw some girls.
In the center of them was….
"So Midoriya, huh?" Asked one of them.
She had yellow wavy hair and freckles on her nose. She looked like that one girl from the hero support class.
"Wow, you're even cuter in person," said another one.
She had silver short hair and wore glasses. She also wore an unusually long skirt.
Deku was chuckling nervously.
"Um, thanks, but I really need to meet someone."
"I'm sure they won't mind if you're a few minutes late," said a red haired girl who was getting dangerously close to him, "Maybe you can help me with my hero support homework or something."
That was it. I wasn't gonna let those girls flirt with my man any longer.
I barged in front of them putting my arms in front.
"Back off girls," I snapped, "Deku is MY boyfriend!"
"Ooooooh, I'm so scared."
I trust Izuku with all my heart, but what I didn't trust however, was people flirting with him when they KNOW that I'm his girlfriend.
"I have a zero-gravity quirk and I'm not afraid to use it!" I said threateningly.
Deku used this opportunity to slip away with Kirishima and the boys.
"Please, as if Midoriya here would wanna go out with such an ugly useless woman who can't even win against Tokoyami." Said another girl looking right at me.
She had red hair in a ponytail. She was obviously the leader of the 3 girls.
That stung me, bringing up the fact that I lost to Tokoyami in the Sports fest.
"You think you're a hero but you're not," said the red-haired girl, "You're just a possessive little bitch who can't even protect herself in battle. You may have martial arts, but why would anyone date such trash."
She pushed me down and I dropped my books.
They all started to laugh at me.
Mina then rushed by and used her Acid quirk to melt some of her hair.
"Beat it," she said, "Otherwise I'll melt more than your hair."
The red-haired girl screamed and ran off because her hair melted.
I chuckled but still looked sad.
"Come here," Mina said as she hugged me.
"….chako…. Ochako!"
I snapped back to reality and saw Deku looking at me worriedly.
"Sweetie are you ok?" He asked me, "You seemed a little down."
"Oh I'm ok," I told him, "I was just thinking back to some things that happened earlier before this chapter started."
"Oh."
I stopped her.
"Deku?" I asked him.
He turned around and asked, "Yes?"
I played with my fingers a bit before looking back up to him.
"Do you….. do you think I'm possessive?"
He was surprised I asked him that.
He then shook his head.
"Of course not, and even if you were, I'd still be with you," Deku said, "I love you the way you are, and you only act a certain way because you care about me."
I smiled hearing that.
"I'm glad to hear you say that," I said, "But just know that I trust you with all my heart."
He kissed my cheek to which I giggled.
"Besides, I find it cute when you get all protective and defend me against all those flirtatious girls," he said making me blush.
"Shut up," I said playfully punching him.
Deku was thinking about something.
There was a time where two guys were hitting on me.
When I refused, one of them grabbed my hand.
Deku saw this and then barged to the rescue. He kicked a guy hard in the face.
"Still Deku, I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable when I blocked you from those girls."
"No Ochako, I'm the one who should be sorry," he said, "I feel like I'm being too overprotective of you."
"Overprotective?" I asked.
"Like I've constantly been taking all the time fighting the bad guys and not letting you help."
"Ohhh," I said while still holding his hand, "Well you're only living by your parent's promise to keep me safe. And I appreciate you for that."
"Still, you've been doing a lot of training lately and it would be a waste if you didn't apply it to real combat," he said, "Plus I wanna see what you can do on the field. From now on, I promise to start letting you help out more often in the big fights."
I kissed him.
"That's why I love you," I said to him, "You always put other people before yourself."
Deku smiled.
"But still, about the whole possessive thing why would you think…"
His expression begun to change.
"Wait, did someone call you that?" He asked, "Who was it Ochako?"
"Why, what are you gonna do to them?"
"Oh nothing, I just wanna have a little chat with them," he answered charging up Aura in his hands, "With my fist!"
"Deku, no."
"Deku, yes."
He saw some smoke.
"Something's wrong," he said looking to where it was located.
I started to see the smoke as well.
"Its probably another villain attack," I said, "We should suit up."
"Right,"
We changed into our hero costumes and begun to rush to where the danger was.
I used this opportunity to test out my ability to make myself float.
Now I could keep up with Deku without him having to carry me.
Deku sensed something going on.
"It's happening over there," he told me as he signaled to a jewelry store.
Someone was pickpocketing the store stealing various jewels.
He had on some kind of futuristic armor, with a mysterious gem in the middle.
Policemen were surrounding him.
"You're surrounded!" Said the chief as he had a gun, "Lock on target men. Fire!"
They began firing at the man.
The second they started, the thief put his arms together making some kind of shield.
The shield was yellow and had an energy similar to Deku's Aura.
"Our weapons…. They're useless!" The chief said, "All personnel fall back!"
The thief laughed.
"Yea you better run," he said, "Or face the wrath of DiamondHead!
Deku and I arrived at the scene.
"Its Deku and Uravity!" Said one of the officers, "Let them handle this."
Diamondhead saw us.
"Well looks like a few pro heroes have come to play," he said.
Deku got in a fighting stance.
"Whatever you're planning, it's not gonna work," Deku said, "Because I am here!"
I chuckled a little bit.
Diamondhead put his arms together making a shield.
"Time to see what this suit is made of!" He said grinning.
He charged at the two of us.
"You go left, I go right," I said.
"Got it!" Deku agreed.
We both dodged by jumping each side.
Diamondhead's armor had some other features as well.
They could shield his hands as well making them invulnerable to certain hits.
Deku charged aura in his hands and shot an aura sphere.
Diamondhead deflected it out of the way whacking it with his hands.
"I don't work that way buddy," he said.
He did a tackle attack on Deku knocking him back. Deku kept shooting Aura spheres but they kept being deflected. Deku then charged up aura in his hands going for an Aura Smash. He then lunged at Diamondhead with a hard punch. Nothing prevailed.
"Is that all you got?" Diamondhead asked.
I knew my boyfriend was struggling, so I had to do something to help.
I noticed something on his back.
"Wait a minute…."
I then made an object weightless.
I then lunged at him.
"Get your hands off my man!" I said.
I whacked Diamondhead in the back, temporarily shutting down his armor, and this gave Deku the opportunity to escape the attack.
"Are you alright?" I asked him.
"I'm good thanks," Deku said smiling at me, "Looks like your training paid off."
I smiled at the compliment.
"Beat the bad guy first, compliment me later."
Diamondhead got his energy back.
"Time to finish what I started," he said.
I got an idea.
"Deku, you think those aura blasts can shut off his machine?"
He nodded.
"You go behind, I'll go front."
"Got it," he said.
Diamondhead lunged at us again with a tackle attack.
Deku jumped out of the way.
I used my martial arts knowledge to block each of Diamondhead's attacks. When he went for a high attack, I used the "Open Locker, Shut Locker" technique, blocking with my hands, and then I ducked when he did a kick.
He didn't know that I was only distracting him.
For a second, I felt something brush through my hair. I turned to see my beloved boyfriend Deku who has channeled aura into his legs. Electric sparks were dancing around his legs as it was covered in Aura and he was in a fighting stance grinning. It was the fighting style that I was waiting for. Shoot style!
He then did a roundhouse kick shooting a fast-paced aura wave.
Once the attack connected, it landed on the weak spot of Diamondhead's armor.
"What the…."
He felt his armor shutting down.
I then kicked him in the face knocking him out.
Deku approached me and smiled.
"You did great out there," he said grinning.
"Thanks Deku, you too," I said.
Something fell out of Diamondhead's armor.
It was another ring like the one we saw before.
The color as blue this time.
"Its another one," he said.
I was shocked that there was more than just one.
"So another guy was able to use your quirk?" I asked, "But…. how?"
Later we were at our hotel room.
We decided to take the tech that was used in the fight and do some tests.
Almost each technique that Deku had, including aura barriers, aura punches and everything else, could easily be duplicated with that gauntlet.
It was even capable of shooting aura beams.
"It must be the rings," Deku thought.
"We gotta call Mina."
Meanwhile a fancy boat was arriving on the island.
Some people were awaiting the arrival of somebody ver important.
Someone stepped out.
He had a fancy suit and hair that almost looked the same color as Yaomomo's.
"Its great to have you on board with us… Mr. Yaoyorozu."
