I want to apologize for not posting on this story in a while, I've been pretty busy and have not been taking the time to write and i am sorry for that! But here I am back with this new chapter, and I hope you'll enjoy it!

I am so grateful for all of you for being patient, and bearing with me through this story! Thank you all so much for your nice reviews, it means the world! Leave me a review to let me know what you thought on this one.

As for my other story, an update is coming for today or tomorrow, I am still trying to finish it, but I am glad you all seem to like it, and i can't wait to post it as well! Thank you again for being so patient!

Chapter twenty-one

Pants, moans, giggles, little cries, and laughter… That was what could be heard from the Casey's bedroom. Dawson and Casey were enjoying this alone time, knowing that their son would be awake soon. They had finally taken the next step, and decided to start trying to get pregnant. It had been a couple of days, and to say they had been very committed to create a beautiful little baby was an understatement. They were both super excited, and were in the euphoria of this new change, and of the idea that they might bring another little miracle to their family.

Matt was on top of his beautiful wife, his head resting in the crook of her neck, still moaning, trying not to make too much noise. He pushed his hips into her, trying to bring them both to the edge, to the release they both died for.

He pressed a loving kiss to her collar bone, pushing once more, deep inside of her, earning a deep groan from Gabby, whose fingernails were digging in the skin of Matt's back. She was trying to control her breath, or maybe her lack of oxygen as she was deeply enjoying what was happening.

"Am close baby" Matt whispered in her ear, feeling he was close from his release. He could feel Gabby's choppy breaths on his chest. He wasn't expecting for his wife to actually answer him, but when he felt her hands run down his body from his back to his butt, he knew she was very very close, and very ready for him to finish his business.

Matt pushed deep inside of Gabby, moaning loudly, and emptying himself inside of her. The young woman reaching her climax a second later. After a moment, Matt was still resting inside of her, he planted a few kisses over her face, and finally rolled off of his girl, laying next to her a smile plastered over his face.

"Aah… Baby on the way" he said panting and taking the sheets that were resting at the end of the bed and putting them over their bare bodies.

"Hopefully" Gabby whispered shily trying to calm her heavy breathing.

Matt looked at his wife, surprised that her previous smile had disappeared. He turned on his side to face her, and caressed her shoulder. "Baby, we're going to get pregnant, you have to be positive about this, and not put too much pressure on this. We'll get pregnant, am sure" he said wanting to reassure her. He was aware that trying for a baby was very important for Gabby, and because of their past experience, she was nervous and putting a lot of pressure on herself when she didn't have to. Matt really wanted to help her to relax as much as possible.

"I know, but I just want everything to go perfectly, and with us there is always something to come and tear everything away… I don't want to go through again what we went through last time" Gabby said with a sad tone. This weight in her heart would never heal. She would always live her life with a hole in her heart. And even though she was happy, the happiest she'd ever been, she couldn't help but think about what their lives would have been if everything would have gone perfectly fine.

"Listen to me Gabby, we can't change the past, we can't change what happened, and it's very sad, because we lost our baby, that we loved it already, we had imagined how our lives would be, and it's okay to be sad about it, but we moved on, we have Louie now, and we wouldn't change a thing, you don't have to worry about anything" Matt replied gently, with a smile. He could feel his girl was relaxing. And of course they would always remember their loss, but they also were so excited for the future, and that was what they needed to focus on.

"I am sorry, I didn't want the mood to become so heavy" Gabby said with a smile, making Matt chuckled.

"It's okay sweet girl. You know how much I love you right?" Matt asked, running his finger over her lips.

"Well you better! You're supposed to give me a baby" she answered back, leaning to kiss his lips. Matt strengthened a little to deepen their kiss. Gabby moaned again, as Matt got back on top of her.

"I love you, only you, and all I've ever wanted is you, and I know that soon you're going to give us a beautiful baby" he whispered planting a couple of kisses over her face making her smile wide. She felt so loved and trusted. She knew that Matt believed in her and trusted her for everything, and she was ready to give him a baby.

"I love you too, and I always will" she replied back to Matt who looked at her with a glimpse in his blue eyes. He bite his lips, his want for her growing once more, as he kissed her lips languidly.

"Are we going again?" he whispered running his hands over her sides.

"I wish, but we can't" Gabby whined, wishing they could spend their entire day in bed, making love and creating their baby. "We have to get this day started, Louie is going to wake up at any time now, I have my girl night, and I want to start looking for a school for our boy" she continued getting a nod from Matt.

"You're right, but know that I expect you home before 1am, you're not staying up too late" He said with a smirk, getting a scoff from his wife.

"Hey! I am a grown up woman, and I am a doing whatever I want!" she mumbled as Matt laughed knowing he was annoying her.

"Am kidding babe!" He shot, leaving the bed, walking to the bathroom. He turned back around before getting inside the room, and looked at his girl "What are you waiting for lady? Let's hop in the shower!" he suggested getting an excited nod from Gabby who finally followed him. They shared a quick shower, enjoying their last minutes of intimacy before Louie would wake up.

Later, Gabby was sitting at the table with her computer in front of her while Matt was cleaning the kitchen from breakfast. She had already taken to heart to find the best school for Louie.

She was aware that her son needed to go to school now, but she was very nervous about it, she didn't know what was best for him. He was definitely a shy little boy and even though he had made a lot of progress, he was still getting nervous around too many unknown people. Gabby also really wanted to have the conversation and explain everything to Louie. She didn't want him to find out last minute he was going to school.

She was going through every school's website, taking notes on every of them, and trying to find the pros and cons for each school. Matt had seen how important it was for his wife, and he could see she was being very meticulous, not wanting to miss anything.

"Should we take into consideration the distance between his school and the firehouse?" Gabby mumbled more to herself than to Matt, but the man walked to his wife, standing behind her, and running his hands over her shoulders to help her relax a bit.

"Well we should just take a school in our neighborhood" Matt answered gently, wanting to show to Gabby that he was here if she needed.

"Yeah but… I mean Louie is not… He is very shy, and you know him maybe we should find something more… Appropriate for him" Gabby trailed off, a bit lost, not really knowing how to deal with the fact that she had a child who needed to get to school next autumn.

"Baby, you've always said you wanted Louie to be treated like any other kid, if we put him in a different structure he'll be different, and our kid is a normal boy, he just went through a lot" Matt said finally sitting next to his wife, turning the computer slightly toward him. "There are five schools in our neighborhood, there must be one that we'll like" he finished getting a nod from Gabby.

"Yeah you're probably right" she mumbled looking at the screen.

"Let's write that down!" Matt teased, making his wife chuckled and relaxed.

"Don't be silly!" she shot back as Louie ran to them with his monkey in his arms, he stood next to them.

"What are you doing?" he asked innocently. Matt looked down at his son, and took him in his arms sitting him down on his laps.

"Mommy and I were actually talking about you" Matt explained.

Louie looked at his mommy, with a scared face squeezing his monkey against his tiny chest. "I didn't eat the last cookie, Monkey said he was hungry…" he whispered knowing he shouldn't have taken the last cookie without asking his parents.

Matt and Gabby shared a surprised look, not expecting for Louie to admit this. They had not even noticed he had taken a cookie, but Louie obviously didn't know that. They were glad he was honest even if he had not asked. They were glad he was aware that he should have asked one of his parents.

Gabby smiled at Louie and caressed his head. "It's okay baby, but ask next time is that okay?" she asked gently, knowing Louie didn't need to be scold.

"Okay, I am sorry mommy and daddy. Monkey is sorry too" Louie said with a shy smile. "He didn't even eat it, it's still in my secret box!" Louie whispered to his daddy not wanting his mother to hear but failing getting a chuckle from both parents.

Matt nodded with a smirk, happy to see Louie so happy with his friend Monkey. "We actually wanted to talk to you buddy" Matt said gently, as Gabby agreed nodding.

"I didn't do anything…" Louie said worried his parents were mad.

"We know baby, you don't have to worry, we are not going to do anything, we want to talk to you about something important" Gabby answered gently trying to reassure her son.

"Am I having a little brother?" Louie asked. He was a smart boy for sure, and he had heard his parents talking about maybe having another baby, and Louie really wanted a sibling so it seemed the right topic to Louie.

"That… That is not exactly what we were going to say" Matt said surprised but with a grin, excited that Louie was mentioning having a brother, now that him and Gabby were actively trying to get pregnant, and soon be able to give a sibling to their little boy.

"Okay…" Louie mumbled waiting for them to explain.

"Daddy and I were thinking about finding a school for you" Gabriela explained seeing a terrified look on her little boy's face.

"No, I don't want school, I want to stay here with monkey, mommy and daddy!" Louie exclaimed scared.

"Hey lil' man, you don't have to be scared, we're going to meet with your teacher, and you're going to see your classroom, and make some new friends it's going to be so fun, you're going to learn so much stuff, you're going to have a great time" Matt explained feeling that his son needed reassurance.

"But I don't want you to leave me!" Louie's eyes were starting to tear up, big tears forming. "I don't want to be alone...". The little boy was very scared that going to school meant he was never going to see his mommy and daddy again, that he would be taken away and would never come home.

"Baby, you don't have to be scared. School is so fun. Everybody is going to school during the day, but then you get home and see us" Gabriela said putting a kiss to Louie's forehead. "Mommy and daddy love you more than anything, and we'll come get you after the day at school is over, or Bonnie will come and will bring you at 51"

Louie nodded, sniffing, as his cheeks were full of tears "Does that mean I just stay at the school the day but I can come home every night?" Louie asked.

"For sure big guy!" Matt replied to his boy. "We are going to go to some of the school and meet the teachers, we want you to like school, school is great!" Matt finished.

Louie nodded and got back to playing, leaving his parents alone once more. "He is going to be fine baby, you know you worry too much about everything right?" Matt said knowing Gabby was pretty tensed, between getting pregnant, Louie, and health issues and getting back to work in a few days, she was a bit on edge.

"Telling me not to worry makes me worried you know that!" she exclaimed focusing back on the different school of their neighborhood.

Matt chuckled and got to her, pulling her in a deep kiss "Relax babe, you're doing great, we can go visit school with Louie, and it's going to be great! Now if you actually get pregnant, you need to be as relaxed as possible"

"You're trying to manipulate me in getting laid!" Gabby chuckled relaxing a bit.

"Not entirely, it's just a plus!" Matt answered back taking his phone out of his pocket.

"What are you doing?" Gabby asked.

"Getting a meeting at this school" Matt answered back pointing at the computer and calling. Ready to help his wife with getting this chore done.

Gabby looked at herself in the mirror, finishing curling her hair. She had started getting ready about an hour ago, grateful for Matt as he had suggested for her to take some time for herself, he had taken Louie for a small walk before the sunset. This way Gabby was able to take a nice bath, washed her hair, put a mask on and all. It wasn't often she could do that, and after everything that had happen, it was well deserved.

She had left the bathroom and decided to go for a new little black dress, one she had bought a while back but never got a chance to wear. It had a V-neck, with some pretty lace. She was definitely looking good, and she was glad she was going out tonight with the girls, and dressing up a bit was nice as well.

"What are you wearing?" Matt asked standing in the doorway, his arms crossed over his chest, a smirk over his face. Gabby jumped a bit, turning to look at her lover.

"What? Do I not look good? It's a dress I've never wore before" she asked surprised and worried Matt didn't like her outfit for the night.

"Oh, you do, you definitely do, but you're not going out like that" Matt said walking in the room, pointing at her dress.

"Why not?!" Gabby exclaimed looking back at herself in the mirror.

"You are not wearing that!" he continued sitting on the edge of bed, his eyes still focused on his girl.

"Matt! It's a girl night, we are going to a nice restaurant and then going to a dancing bar. AND it's a great outfit! I look pretty good in it!"

"You look too great to go out like this, which is why you need to go get changed" Matt said pointing at the dresser.

"You're kidding right?" Gabby asked looking at Matt putting her hands over her hips, giving him a challenging look.

"No babe, you look absolutely gorgeous, and dudes are going to come around you, I don't want that!"

"So, you're just jealous" She smirked rolling her eyes.

"Don't be silly am not jealous am just looking out for my girl! You're beautiful, really beautiful, and I love this dress, I really, really do, but this, has to be for my eyes, and my eyes only! I don't want every guy in Chicago to drool looking at you."

"You know you don't have to worry though. And I mean I am not going to go out wearing a simple hoodie"

"Why not? You'd look good, just a bit less sexy, not that you're not sexy wearing a hoodie because god knows how much I love when you do, but maybe I would prevent men to try something"

"I've been wearing pjs and hoodies for the last few weeks, it's the first time I get to really go out, and enjoy a night for me, I really want to wear this dress"

"I get that, but... don't you have another dress? I mean you have so many beautiful dresses that are a little less... Provocative"

"You're saying that I am being provocative"

"That's not what I meant... I just think maybe you could keep this dress for another occasion..."

"I would wear this dress on a date together and you wouldn't mind so what is the problem?"

"That I am not going to be here able to punch a guy if he is enjoying the view"

"Come on baby, I. am going to be with my friends! And I'll tell you what, how about when I get home you help me get it off" Gabby suggested walking to him, putting her hands over his knees and bending to kiss his lips seductively.

"Oh yeah?" Matt whispered after their kiss.

"Definitely"

"Fine I guess that's fair! But please call me If you need me to come" Matt said as Gabby rolled her eyes once again.

"That will not happen, you know am not going to call you"

"I know! Just enjoy your night babe, you deserve it, am sorry if it was offensive, I just want to keep you for me"

"Oh I know that sweet man, you have fun as well with Louie, he is excited to spend the night with you"

"Boys night" Matt said leaving Gabby alone to finish getting ready. He walked back to the living room to be with Louie who was playing with his toys on the rug.

A few minutes later, Gabby walked out ready. Matt looked at her, stunned by her beauty. He sent her a wink, his eyes only needed to tell her how perfect she looked. Nevertheless, the little boy stood up and ran to his mommy, surprised to see her looking so great.

"Mommy you're very pretty" he exclaimed as Gabby smiled kissing the top of his head

"Oh my baby thank you. Are you going to be a good boy for daddy while I am gone?"

"Yes! I want to watch a movie with my daddy!"

"You will, but first you have to eat dinner, and get cleaned up and then daddy will put the movie, does that sound okay?"

"Yes!" Louie said running to the bathroom ready to get cleaned up.

"Louie, wait for daddy before getting in the bath!" Gabby reminded the little boy. Matt stood from his spot and walked to Gabby.

"You look stunning sweetheart, go enjoy your night, we're keeping the fort while you're gone, and take a taxi to get home" Matt said putting a gentle kiss to her cheek making her smile.

She looked at Matt and nodded before pulling him in a loving hug, squeezing him tight against her. "You okay?" Matt asked surprised, not expecting to get a hug from his wife. Not that he wasn't glad for that, because he was, but he wasn't sure why she felt the need to hug him.

"I am just thankful for you, I am so happy to have you, and thank you for taking care of Louie tonight, I appreciate it a lot" she explained making her husband chuckled.

"You don't have to thank me babe, I am his father, and if his hot mommy needs a night off, I am happy to look after him!" Matt replied putting a kiss to her forehead. "Come on go" he said pulling away.

Gabby nodded and took her purse and coat before heading out, ready to enjoy a great night. Matt, on the other hand walked to the bathroom where Louie was struggling with taking his shirt off. "Hey let me help you" Matt said gently.

"No I can do It daddy!" Louie exclaimed getting the last few buttons off. "See I did it!" Louie said excited as Matt started the bath, making sure the water was not too hot.

"You're a big boy now Louie, and you're doing so great, mommy and I are very proud of you buddy" Matt said helping Louie to get in the bathtub. Louie quickly grabbing his toys and started playing under Matt's happy look.

The adult put some bubbles in the bath, knowing Louie loved them, and finally after a few minutes he stopped the water. "I am going to get dinner ready, you good here?" Matt asked knowing that Louie was big enough to be left on his own. But the little boy looked up at his father.

"Can you stay and play with me daddy?" He asked.

"Definitely bud', I can stay!" Matt said sitting down next to the bathtub. He was happy to see Louie so careless, and just happy to share things together.

After a moment of silence, Louie looked at his father, a bit hesitant. "Daddy, will I have a brother?" He asked taking Matt aback. The father had already noticed that Louie had asked about a brother earlier in the day, and he was asking more and more recently.

"You know buddy, mommy and I have been thinking about it yeah" he replied with a smile.

"Is it going to be a boy?" Louie asked excited.

"I don't know, we don't get to choose, but either boy or girl you're going to love the baby right?"

"I guess… Is it going a baby like me?" He asked then.

Matt looked at his son a bit confused "What do you mean?"

"You and mommy are my daddy and mommy but you were not before, does that mean my brother will come from other parents?" Louie wondered, trying to explain what he meant, but probably very lost.

Matt sighed, knowing that Louie was still young to understand everything about his situation. Gabby and Matt had talked about what Louie needed to know, and that they didn't want to hide things from him, so they agreed that if the little boy had questions they would always answer him with as much honesty as possible.

Now, Matt also didn't really like the idea of not having Gabby to talk to Louie about all of that. Of course he had asked questions before, and he was aware of his situation but he was curious and Matt would rather talk about everything with his wife by his side. But for once, he would make an exception.

"Louie, you… You know that mommy and I adopted you right?" Matt asked gently not wanting to startle the little boy.

"Yes" Louie answered.

"Do you understand what it means? It means that we became your parents, because the mother and father who had you couldn't care for you" Matt explained gently.

"Didn't they love me?" He asked making Matt's heart breaks in thousand pieces.

"They did love you, they just… Couldn't be your parents"

"It's okay, I love you and mommy, and you love me lots and lots" Louie said playing with the water.

"We sure do Louie, we love you very much" Matt said caressing his head gently. "And we do want to give you a sibling soon"

"Okay!" Louie answered excited before getting back to playing, not really caring about the previous conversation anymore, and just wanting to enjoy his bath with his toys.

The girls were at the bar, ready to enjoy the night. They had eaten dinner at a nice restaurant and now were ready to party. Gabby was texting on her phone as Matt had sent her a few pictures of himself and Louie while they were playing. She was smiling, as her two boys were absolutely the cutest together.

"What are you doing? Sexting? You should tell Casey to leave you alone for tonight!" Stella asked after taking a sip of her cocktail, taking Gabby out of her thoughts.

"Matt just send me some pictures! You dirty mind!" Gabby answered back rolling her eyes as Brett and Kidd shared a laugh.

"Let me see!" Kidd answered back, taking the phone from her friend. "Oh they are really cute together, you have two handsome boys here"

"Yeah they are pretty amazing" Gabby replied with a genuine smile on her face. "What about you Stella, you're never thinking about it? Having your own family, marriage and all?" Gabby asked curious.

"Yeah I guess so, I mean Kelly and I are stable now, so I guess am just waiting for the right time" Stella explained.

"Waiting for the right time is not always the best thing to do!" Brett said getting a nod of agreement from Dawson. "I mean look at Casey and Dawson, it was never the right time, and now they are happily married, with a kid" Brett finished. Gabby agreed again, with a proud grin on her face.

"What's that grin for?" Kidd asked curious.

"What? I am happy with my boys, I love them so much that's all" Gabby said gaining two smiles on her friend's faces.

"Oh god, it's crazy how you and Casey are perfect together, and it's actually weird he has not knocked you up already!" Brett shot making Gabby choke on her drink.

"Am sorry?" She mumbled trying to stop coughing.

"Come on everybody at 51 is just eagerly waiting for you and Casey to finally announce you're expecting, so please tell us you've at least talked about it!" Stella asked desperately.

Gabby and Matt had just started trying, and they had not really talked about what they wanted or if they wanted to actually tell people. Gabby was pretty much the one wanting to keep it under the radar at least until she was sure her baby and herself would be okay, and also make sure it was a viable pregnancy, she definitely did not want to jinx it too quickly like she did when she got pregnant a few years back.

"We've talked about it, and with Louie getting to school in a few months, we are thinking about it" She said not wanting to give anything away. If she got pregnant, she would probably wait for the first trimester to be over.

"You should just go ahead, don't think too much on this, you deserve to be happy, and Louie would love to have a sibling" Brett said with a smile. Gabby nodded knowing her friends just wanted her to be happy, but she was still worried about everything and it would probably not vanish any time soon.

"We'll see" Gabby whispered then as Brett and Kidd laughed excited before going to the dance floor. Gabby looked at them, so happy to be out with her friends.

She walked to the dance floor as well, dancing to the sound of the loud music. Brett got to Dawson, talking in her ears "Severide is going to pop the question this weekend!" she said excited.

Gabby looked at Sylvie shocked by this statement, she was aware that Kelly was going to propose but she didn't know it would happen now. But it made her so happy. "It's an amazing news! Does she know?" Gabriela asked looking at Stella who was dancing a few meters from them.

"She has no clue! Which is why it's so exciting! I mean you know how exciting an engagement is!" Brett said a smile plastered all over her face, probably a bit tipsy as well.

"Matt did it pretty amazingly, but am sure Kelly will do everything perfectly, this is an exciting news!" Gabby replied so excited.

"Matt is the best though, how many times did he propose anyways… I wish he had proposed to me" Brett mumbled, wishing she could have her own proposal someday.

"Okay Brett, Matt is my husband remember, but would you like me to talk to Antonio, am sure I can ask him to propose to you, he might even be planning on it" Gabby teased seeing a glimpse of shock over the blond woman's face.

"You do that, I'll marry you!" Brett exclaimed excited, making Gabby laughed.

"Brett, listen… For what it's worth, I know that my brother is very much in love with you, and I don't think you're in any rush, I mean look at Casey and I, we just liked each other for the longest time, and then got together, he proposed after about a year of relationship, and pretty much everything went south after that! We had to take our head out of our asses to get where we are today you know! So just don't worry okay" Gabby said squeezing her friend's hand.

"You're right! You know I am so happy to see you so happy with Matt, you two are perfect for each other. And I can't wait to be your sister-in-law one day"

"Definitely!" Gabby laughed, and finally they got back to the party, so happy to be all together.

Getting home, Gabby walked in the house, every room pitched in dark. It was pretty late, so she tried to be as quiet as possible. She put her coat and purse on the couch and got to the kitchen to take a glass of water before going to the bedroom. She was surprised to see the light on. She pushed the door open, and found Casey sitting on the bed, with Louie sleeping in his arms. She looked at her boys, when Matt looked at her, with a smile.

"What are you doing up so late?" she whispered a bit worried.

"Louie had a nightmare, he kept crying so I held him until he was out" Matt explained gently not wanting to wake up his little boy.

"Is he okay?" Gabby asked sitting on the edge of the bed, right next to Matt, feeling a bit guilty for not being here when her son was crying.

"He is fine babe, don't worry. How was your night?" Matt asked as Gabby stood back up.

"It was actually pretty nice, the girls were happy to take me out I think, and Kelly is proposing this weekend, it's a big deal!" Gabby said excited going to the dresser to get undressed.

She walked back in the bedroom, and went to the bathroom under Matt's look. She needed to get her make up off and brush her teeth. She was surprised when he walked in the room with a grin over his face. "Where is my son?" Gabby asked looking at her husband through the mirror.

"I left him in the bedroom, I think we should let him sleep in our bed tonight, if that's okay" He suggested, knowing the little boy had been a bit shaken by his bad dream.

"Yeah it's a great idea. How was your boy night?" she asked.

Matt sat on the edge of the bathtub "It was great, we played in the bath, ate my famous mac and cheese, and watched a couple of movies before he got to bed!" Matt explained. "He asked about a sibling, and we had a bit of a talk about his adoption… I know I probably should have waited for you to be home to get in deep with this conversation but he was asking questions so…" Matt trailed off, hoping his wife wouldn't be upset.

"It's okay, I am glad you talked with him about it, you're such an amazing dad, that makes me so proud and happy" Gabby said turning around and walking to Matt, standing in between his legs as she put her arms around his neck and pulling them closer. "My husband is absolutely wonderful!" she whispered getting even closer to give him a tender kiss.

Matt pulled Gabby a bit closer, running his hands in her back. "My wife is pretty wonderful as well. And… And I am very glad you enjoyed your night, you deserved it" he said lovingly.

"Thank you baby" Gabby whispered against his lips before enjoying the feeling of him against her.

"I love you" Matt replied. They were both happy to just enjoy a little moment together, before going to bed.
