Chapter 30: Proposals and Reveals.
Mina's P.O.V
I was playing Band Champion with my friends. It was Kirishima and me on vocals, Jirou and Kaminari playing the guitar instruments, Bakugo on Drums, and Yaomomo on keys.
We were playing the song "Wannabe" as suggested by Momo as it was her favorite song.
As I was dancing, I had my eyes directly on Kirishima as he had such a "Manly voice". He could really sing as well. As we were getting into the groove the phone rang.
I paused the game and picked it up.
"Hey, this is Mina Ashido," I said.
Kirishima was still singing even though I paused the game.
"Hey Kirishima could you be quiet I'm on the phone," I said.
Kirishima kept singing.
"Kirishima!"
He stopped.
Momo clapped her hands.
It was Ochako and Midori.
"Hey, where are you guys, we already started and…."
She was explaining the situation to us.
"Wait, what?"
A few minutes later, we all met at the spot where they asked us to meet.
Midori had spent a few minutes explaining what happened to the two of them.
From what we could gather, that gauntlet was capable of doing some of the things that he could.
He channeled aura together and pushed his hands out, shooting an aura sphere.
"Now watch this," He said.
The gauntlets were capable of doing the same thing.
But that was only because of the ring powering it up.
"So what does that have to do with you?" Yaomomo asked.
"That's just it," Deku explained, "I think these rings might have something to do with how those crooks were able to do what I can," Midori told us as he was holding the ring.
"So, who do we talk to about this?" Ochako asked.
Midori thought of somebody.
We all went to David Shield's lab. Luckily it wasn't closing time, so we could get information quickly. David took the ring and did an analysis of it. He began writing information down about the ring and how it was capable of channeling the weapons.
"Anything?" Midori asked.
"Ok, so this is the molecular structure of the gauntlets before the ring," David explained to us pointing to a monitor, "And this is the molecular structure of the gauntlet with the ring channeling it. It looks like the rings have a special power inside of the gem that is held in the ring. The gauntlets are also made of a special metal that is the same as these rings, and by placing them into the gauntlets, or any other weapon that is made of the same material, it channels power into those said weapons. However, some weapons are capable of holding power of more than one ring. The ring enhances not only the weapon but the user of it. I think that's how those crooks you fought were capable of Aura Manipulation."
We were all speechless, but Denki had a blank expression on his face.
"Here's what I heard; Blah blah blah, science science science, Aura Manipulation," he said.
"Pretty much yes," David said laughing.
Midori was thinking to himself.
"Do you recall ever doing experiments on this stuff?" He asked David.
"Not that I know of, as research on these rings was terminated a long time ago," David explained, "It looks like someone is working behind the scenes, wanting to make a quick buck."
"Well whoever it is, we gotta stop them," I said, "From here on out if any of us see anything shady, we'll report it to Aizawa or Mr. Yagi."
"Roger," Denki said.
Uraraka's P.O.V
We were walking back to the hotel.
I was thinking about something that was on my mind.
Mina approached me and nudged at my shoulder.
"So are you gonna tell Midori or what?" She asked me.
Deku overheard it.
"Tell me what?" He asked turning to me.
Mina chuckled to herself.
"Well look at the time, I'm due for a makeup session with Kirishima," she said, "I'll just let you two chat."
She started walking away.
I was alone with Deku.
"So…. What was Mina talking about," Deku asked.
I knew I wanted to tell him, but, I couldn't.
I didn't want him to worry about me.
But… I knew I had to because I loved him.
I turned to face the love of my life and made a straight face smiling.
"Deku, there's something I need to bring to your attention," I said trying to be happy.
Deku looked at me funny.
"Deku….." I said, "There's this guy who I've met here on I-Island and….. I fell for him. I think we should break up."
Deku had tears in his eyes and felt heartbroken.
"Ochako…."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Just kidding! Hahaha! that's not what I wanted to talk to Deku about. I would never break up with him out of the blue. Let me get to the REAL scenario that took place. So how about we just go back to the part where Mina said….
"So Deku… don't get mad but," I began, "I've been taking some secret training with All Might."
Deku was surprised.
"With All Might?" He asked, "I'm not mad or anything, more like amazed, but….. why?"
"Well, I was thinking about the conversation we had in the last chapter of this book, and part of me was worried," I said, "Worried that I might hold you back."
Deku held me by the shoulders.
"You would never hold me back," he said reassuring me with a smile, "If anything, you push me forward, and seeing you out there fighting, it inspires me to become stronger."
I blushed and my cheeks were more red than pink.
"Well, enough of that," I said, "I think its time I showed you the training I've endured."
I took Deku's hands and brought him over to another area.
There was a rock that I was standing on the other side of it.
I breathed in and breathed out.
Pink energy was beginning to flow through my body.
I then clenched my hand into a fist and threw a punch at the rock.
At an instant, I turned that rock into small little pebbles.
I also showed Deku another move I learned.
By focusing my mind, I managed to make those pebbles weightless and float, without even touching them.
Deku was speechless.
"So yeah, that's what I learned while training with All Might."
"So that means….."
I nodded.
"I inherited One For All," I said with a smile.
"What….. but….. how…. When did you…. I don't….."
He started muttering again and I giggled.
"It's a long story."
Flashback
I was doing some training with All Might training my quirk.
All Might noticed something was wrong with me.
"Young Uraraka, what seems to be troubling you?" He asked.
I turned to face him. I was worried about Deku going against big-time villains. I was frightened that he wouldn't make it back.
"Its Deku-Kun," I admitted to him, "I'm worried about his safety."
He smiled.
"Its only natural to be worried about young Midoriya, even if he is a well-known hero," he told me looking down, "Its also natural to want to help him in the big fight."
He was right.
"I do," I said, "I wanna help him but….. part of me is worried I'll hold him back."
"There is a way for you to help him," All Might said, "And I think I can help you with it."
I looked up with hopeful eyes.
"What is it?" I asked getting closer to him.
"I can give you One For All," he answered, "It seems you have the body necessary to harness its power. And on top of that, it will amplify your zero gravity quirk."
I was amazed and surprised. The opportunity to inherit the quirk of THE greatest Pro Hero, and help my boyfriend?! This was too good to be true.
I nodded.
"I'll do it," I said, "What do I need to do?"
All Might took a strand of his hair and placed it in some Mochi.
"Eat this," he said.
"Um….. what?"
"Eat this," he repeated himself.
I was a little surprised at how it works, but the hair was completely covered by the Mochi.
"Ok," I said taking the mochi.
I gummed it down so I didn't accidentally taste the hair.
I felt sparks going around my body.
"I feel….. stronger," I said to myself.
"Prepare yourself, young Uraraka," All Might told me, "As I am going to train you to control One For All."
A few days later, I met All Might at the exact same place.
The training I endured seemed a lot different.
I punched a target and sent it flying.
My hand did hurt a little bit after that, probably from using too much power.
During another day of training, I found myself being able to use gravity on objects. The catch was, I didn't even have to touch them!
Being a martial artist gave me a bit of an advantage, as I had the bod able to control the power.
"Well, looks like that's the first favor I've done for my future daughter in law," All Might said, "Let's just hope it works in real combat."
I rushed to find my Deku.
"One more thing," All Might said, "Try not to use to much percent in your quirk."
I smiled and said, "Got it….. Future father in law."
Flashback Over
Deku smiled.
"Ochako, you never cease to amuse me," he said, "But if there's anything you don't understand about One For All's strength, don't hesitate to come and talk with me."
"Got it," I said smiling.
He held my chin and pulled me in for a kiss.
"I love you," he said to me.
"I love you too," I said back.
Melissa's P.O.V
I was bringing some stuff for Han.
"I think he'll appreciate the new ideas I made for him," I said to myself.
Han had a match earlier with Sanjay and one of his arms was getting rusty. And so I decided to come up with some new upgrades for his arms. Not only that, but I also found a way to make them stretch to wider distances.
I heard some conversation going on in a lab room.
I went over to where it was taking place while listening to the voices.
One of them sounded like Momo's father who had just arrived earlier.
"….and so once we find my daughter Momo, you shall propose to her and once the arranged marriage is set, this deal will bring my company back to its feet."
My ears couldn't believe what they were hearing.
From the tone of Han's voice, he sounded hesitant, so as least he wasn't cheating on me."
"If anybody objects to this idea, then speak now," Mr. Yaoyorozu said.
I pushed the doors open.
"I object!" I shouted.
Everyone turned to me.
"Melissa!" Han said as he smiled, relieved to see me.
I rushed to him and hugged him.
"Shame on you, attempting to force Han into something he is clearly uncomfortable with!"
"And who are you supposed to be?" Mr. Yaoyorozu asked.
"I'm Han's girlfriend Melissa Shield," I said clinging on to him.
"Oh I'm sorry dear," he said pretending to feel sorry, "…..Not anymore."
I was thrown out of the room and locked out.
I was scared for our future, and I couldn't stand the fact of being separated from Han. I knew I had to get some help.
