The Dragon of Ice
Chapter 23: Dreamscape
Omi, Kimiko, Raimindo, Clay and Alice rode on Dojo as they headed to a forest to find the newly activated Shen Gong Wu, the Shadow of Fear.
Alice wore a yellow shirt, red shorts and red yellow trainers. Her pink hair was styled in odango hairstyle.
Kimiko wore a pink bear hood coat with black clothing that had dark pink stripes on it and stylish white shoes.
When they arrived to their destination, the monks saw Jack talking to a camera that was recording everything.
"It appears that evil boy genius, Jack Spicer, has company."Jack muttered. "Jack-Bots, attack!"
A Jack-Bot fired log missiles at Dojo causing the green dragon to freak out and dodge the logs.
One of the log removes the scales on Dojo's head.
"That's going to leave a mark!"Dojo exclaimed.
"Ooh..."Omi, Kimiko, Raimindo, Clay and Alice cooed.
The other Jack-Bots began to throw logs towards Dojo and the five monks.
A log hits Dojo on the face causing him to go down.
"Ruby of Ramses!"Omi chanted.
Omi used the Ruby of Ramses to remove the log on Dojo's head.
The five monks notice Jack flying towards the Shadow of Fear that lied in the stream.
"Faster Dojo!"Kimiko instructed.
"Don't you worry!"Clay assured and spun his robe. "Old Clay's gotta rope or two up his sleeve! Come on, little doggie!"
Clay grabbed the Shadow of Fear using his rope.
The rope got broken by Jack's helipack causing the Shadow of Fear to drop on a log that floated in the river.
Dojo dropped the five monks on the floating logs in the stream.
The Shadow of Fear was between Clay and Jack.
Clay and Jack glared at each other while moving their fingers.
"Make your move, Spicer!"Clay challenged.
"Make up!"Jack called out.
A pink robot went up to Clay and put make up on his face.
"Beautiful."Jack remarked. "Action!"
Three Jack-Bots approached Clay, who was frozen and stuttering in complete fear.
Jack took the Shadow of Fear and went away from the stream.
"Clay!"Alice shouted. "Jack is getting away!"
Clay continued looking at the camera as Raimundo looked at his companions.
"What's with Clay?"Raimundo asked.
"Looks like he's got a pretty bad case of stage fright."Kimiko responded.
"Orb of Tornami!"Omi chanted.
Omi used the Orb of Tornami to make Clay ride on the stream, only for the Dragon on Earth to head to a blocked path that was surrounded by logs.
"Eye of Dashi!"Alice chanted.
Alice used the Eye of Dashi to blast away the big rocks in the stream that were going to break the log that Clay was into pieces.
"Sword of the Storm!"Raimundo chanted.
Raimundo used the Sword of the Storm to move the logs out of the way which made Clay head down the waterfall.
"Lotus Twister!"Kimiko chanted.
The Lotus Twister made Kimiko's arm grow longer to grab Clay and bring him back to safety.
"They sure grow big in Texas."Kimiko commented.
Jack laughed while holding the Shadow of Fear in triumph.
"Once again, Jack Spicer, has triumphed over the Xiaolin Losers!"Jack laughed. "And it's all captured on film!"
"You should be thinking more about world domination and less about the movie."Wuya reminded with a frown.
"It's pretty much the same thing."Jack said simply.
Jack winked at the camera causing it's screen to go fuzzy and turn off.
Dojo and the five monks were heading back to the Xiaolin Temple.
"Oh cheer up Clay!"Omi encouraged with a grin. "There is no shame in a humiliating defeat. Remember, it will only make you stronger for the next one."
"Yeah, thanks."Clay sighed. "But I never figured I turn out to be camera-shy. I feel lower than a tick hugging a gopher's belly."
"Dojo."Kimiko said. "Exactly what does the Shadow of Fear do?"
Dojo opened the Ancient Scroll.
"It allows whoever holds it to enter another's dreams."Dojo explained. "And bring to life, their deepest and darkest fear."
"Yikes."Alice mumbled nervously.
"Ha!"Omi chuckled. "Then I have no worried because I have no fears!"
In respond, Dojo flew quick which made Omi get off his back.
"Hold on there, partner!"Clay stated.
Clay used his rope to catch Omi and bring him back on Dojo's back.
"See?"Omi asked happily. "No fear!"
At the Xiaolin Temple...
The five monks were training in the obstacle course while wearing blindfolds to cover their eyes.
Everyone was being careful not to get caught in the traps, but Omi managed to get through with ease.
"Your courage is admirable, Dragons-in-training."Master Fung replied. "Yet the bravest monk is not one who fears nothing, but the one who is willing to face what he fears most."
"Even with the Shadow of Fear, Jack Spicer cannot defeat me."Omi bragged. "I have never met a fear I was afraid of."
Later that Night...
Kimiko, Raimundo, Clay, Alice and Omi were all fast asleep and dreaming peacefully in their rooms.
However when Jack invaded the monks rest using the powers of the Shadow of Fear to open their greatest fears.
In Alice's Dream...
Alice walked around a place that was a large, vibrant and lush forest which had a river with tall trees, colourful mushrooms and lots of flowers.
A butterfly with wings of bread with butter spread on it flew past the girl to relax in a little teacup that was it's home.
The pink haired girl chuckled as she jumped in the lily pads that had colourful fish swimming underneath it.
However it became a nightmare when the peaceful area started to burn away and turn into ashes.
"What?"Alice said in shock.
"Hey, pinkie!"Jack laughed from above. "Aren't you too old to dream about tea parties and bunnies?"
"Get the heck out of here, Spicer!"Alice snapped in anger. "This is wonderland! My imaginary country!"
"Whatever!"Jack scoffed and smirked. "Anyway an old friend of yours wants to say hi to you!"
Alice frowned. "What old friend?"
The pink haired girl felt a huge shadow towering over her.
But when Alice turned around, it caused her to scream in terror.
The Next Morning...
Clay, Alice, Raimundo, Kimiko and Omi were tiredly making breakfast.
Raimundo was making orange juice, Kimiko was frying a few bacons, Clay was making pancakes, Alice was making a mushroom frittata for herself and Omi was cracking some eggs.
However the five monks accidentally end up hitting each other using their breakfast foods, but all of them were too tired to argue with one another.
"Sorry."Clay apologised. "I guess I am tad tired. I didn't get enough shut eye to put the wag in a flea's tail."
"Looks like my young monks had trouble sleeping last night."Master Fung said.
"Actually, I had a pretty gross dream."Raimundo admitted. "Jack Spicer was in it."
This caused Clay, Kimiko and Alice to go up to Raimundo while Omi stood nervously behind them.
"Me two!"Clay commented. "Did he do his evil laugh?"
"Yeah and it was so annoying!"Kimiko scowled.
"Not to mention he made my lovely dream a horrifying nightmare!"Alice retorted.
"Now that Jack has the Shadow of Fear, it's very possible that he has been visiting your dreams."Master Fung explained.
"Talk about wanting to wash my brain out!"Kimiko complained.
"I am not afraid of anything Jack Spicer may find inside my head!"Omi remarked bravely.
Alice rolled her eyes as Master Fung spoke up.
"Omi, since you are so unafraid, you will watch over the Shen Gong Wu."Master Fung stated with a smile.
This caused Omi's smile to drop and a frightened look appeared on his face.
Later that Night...
Kimiko, Alice, Raimundo and Clay were in their rooms while Omi was guarding the Shen Gong Wu in the vault.
"I WILL NOT STAY HERE!"Omi's voice screamed out. "AHHHHHHHH!"
The four monks woke up and went out of their rooms hearing Omi's screaming.
"Did you hear that?"Kimiko asked.
"Sounded like a hen who got it's tongue stuck to a pole."Clay yawned.
Kimiko, Alice, Raimundo and Clay headed to the meditation room and saw Jack holding a bunch of Shen Gong Wu he took from the vault.
"JACK SPICER!"Kimiko, Alice, Raimundo and Clay shouted in unison.
"In the Flesh!"Jack remarked. "No autographs, please!"
"Stop them!"Kimiko ordered.
Kimiko, Alice, Raimundo and Clay jumped forward to attack the Jack-Bots.
"I told you to hurry but no!"Wuya complained. "You only care about your precious little movie!"
"I needed more footage!"Jack reminded. "Don't worry, I get the rest in retakes!"
Kimiko kicks Jack in the face causing him to slam against the wall.
"Camera-Bots, attack!"Jack ordered.
Three Camera-Bots rushed forward causing Raimundo, Kimiko, Alice and Clay to destroy them.
"Don't worry, Xiaolin Losers!"Jack insulted evilly. "I'll thank you in my acceptance speech!"
Jack escaped through the ceiling as the four monks watched with glares on their faces.
Then Clay went inside the vault to check the amount of Shen Gong Wu they had.
"It's not too bad."Clay commented. "They only got a few of the Shen Gong Wu!"
"Where's Omi?"Kimiko asked. "His supposed to be guarding the temple!"
The four monks headed outside and found Omi standing upside down next to a big tree while shivering in fear.
"Hey, what happened little partner?"Clay asked. "You were supposed to be on guard."
"Maybe we should bring him inside."Kimiko suggested. "He doesn't look so good."
"He looks scared to death if you ask me."Alice commented.
Clay picked up Omi and the five of them returned inside the Xiaolin Temple.
Raimundo, Kimiko, Alice and Clay were training while Omi was watching them.
"Everyone ready to kick some Jack Spicer butt?"Raimundo asked.
Raimundo did a back flip and landed on Clay's hands, who send him up.
"Does a bull like to snort?"Clay asked.
Kimiko successfully held Raimundo, who landed upside and held her right hand.
"Yeah...I couldn't have put it better myself."Kimiko stated.
Alice did the splits as she held Raimundo with her hands before glancing at Omi.
"Aren't you going to join in, Omi?"Alice questioned.
"I have some scrolls to study right now."Omi admitted while holding a scroll in his hand.
This caused Raimundo, Clay, Alice and Kimiko to become surprised.
"What?"Raimundo asked.
"And there is that gardening I promised Master Fung to finish."Omi stated.
"You rather do gardening than kicking butt?"Kimiko said in disbelief.
"And then there is the floors I must scrub with a very small toothbrush."Omi added and held out a tiny toothbrush. "I should begin now."
This caused Alice to grab Omi by the head.
"Hold on, Omi."Alice demanded. "Is the reason that you don't wanna join us because Jack showed you your darkest fear, right?"
"Oh no, Allie!"Omi assured quickly and began walking. "I am not afraid of anything!"
Alice folds her arms as Clay dragged Omi forward by the sash.
"No! Don't! I must not fight! Please!"Omi panicked and then sighed. "Never mind."
Clay, Omi, Alice, Kimiko and Raimundo arrived inside Jack's house, only for the spotlight to shine on them.
"Lights, camera, action!"Jack announced.
The five monks stood in fighting positions, ready to take down Jack and his robots.
"We've come for the stolen Shen Gong Wu, Jack!"Kimiko snapped and leapt up. "Judolette Flip, FIRE!"
Kimiko did a few flips and destroyed the spotlight.
"Good. Very dramatic and so is this!"Jack said with a smirk and held out the Shadow of Fear. "Shadow of Fear!"
Purple mist came out from the Shadow of Fear before it surrounded around Clay, Omi, Alice, Kimiko and Raimundo.
A childish yet creepy doll appeared behind Kimiko.
"Play with me, Kimiko."Lil Chica said creepily.
"Lil Chica?!"Kimiko said in shock. "No! It can't be!"
"Don't you wanna hug?"Lil Chica asked as she grabbed Kimiko by the leg.
"No!"Kimiko panicked. "Stay away!"
The scary grandmother of Clay who wants to giver her grandson some affection.
"Come and give granny a kiss, little Clay."Grandmother Bailey insisted.
"Granny Bailey!"Clay panicked. "I couldn't feel my cheeks for a month after the last time.
Grandmother Bailey grabbed Clay to kiss him causing the cowboy to scream in terror.
Alice backed away as the Jabberwock that was a monstrous creature from her dreamland.
"You've been recently busy haven't you, Alice?"Jabberwock questioned. "Between your dim witted daydreaming and your ridiculous kung fu lessons. There is barely time for anything else."
"D-D-Did anyone tell you that you do great in a poetry contest?"Alice asked nervously.
Alice shrieked as the Jabberwock grabbed her with his tail.
A mutant eight-eyed jellyfish went next to Raimundo.
"No!"Raimundo panicked. "I always knew you existed in the water and now here too!"
Raimundo started running away with the mutant eight-eyed jellyfish right behind him as Omi watched.
"Maybe is not here?"Omi suggested with a hint of relief. "Perhaps it went away."
Omi paled when he felt soft fur behind him and sees a giant vicious and mutated squirrel causing him to scream in shock.
Clay, Omi, Alice, Kimiko and Raimundo began running away from their fears since they were all too scared to fight them.
"Zoom in!"Jack ordered while holding a loud speaker. "Show me more fear! Ha! Ha! Ha!"
The five monks quickly rushed out of Jack's house to get away from their fears as Jack and Wuya watched.
"Cut and print!"Jack ordered.
"Amazing, Jack."Wuya said with a smile. "For once you have done well."
"What can I say?"Jack asked and slammed Wuya's ghostly back. "I was born to direct!"
The Next Morning...
Clay, Omi, Alice, Kimiko and Raimundo sat in the meditation room in shame for their cowardice as Master Fung spoke up.
"It seems Jack Spicer has found your worst nightmares using the Shadow of Fear."Master Fung commented.
"Hey! Check this out."Kimiko remarked and held up a camera. "It's one of Jack's camera bots taken out during the fight."
The camera showed a video of Kimiko, Clay, Raimundo and Alice taking out the Jack-Bots and Omi being chased by the mutated squirrel.
"Why didn't you warn us, little buckaroo?"Clay asked.
"I was too ashamed to tell any of you."Omi admitted. "Perhaps if I had, we've better prepared for our humiliating defeat."
Omi dropped on the floor as Dojo began to shake widely.
"Sorry to break up this downer fest, but I'm sensing another Shen Gong Wu!"Dojo announced and held up the Ancient Scroll. "The Crouching Cougar. An excellent ground vehicle for jungle-travel. With all the power and handling any young warrior could ask for."
Clay, Alice, Raimundo, Kimiko and Omi headed out of the meditation room.
"Do not lost hope."Master Fung instructed. "Realising one's fears is the first step to facing them."
Dojo and the five monks were heading to the Crouching Cougar's location.
"I'm all for listening to Master Fung's wiseness, but facing my fear isn't gonna work."Raimundo responded. "It's only gonna get me eaten."
"What can we do?"Kimiko asked.
"Perhaps we should swap fears?"Omi suggested.
Clay nodded in agreement.
"Yeah."Kimiko chuckled.
"Good idea."Raimundo stated.
"That would show creep Jack not to mess with us."Alice remarked.
The five monks high five each other, now confident that they can face each other's fears.
The video camera was focusing on the Crouching Cougar that lied on top of a mountain side.
"I want a close up on the Shen Gong Wu when we find it."Jack instructed as he powdered his face.
"Hurry, Jack!"Wuya snapped. "We are going to lose the Crouching Cougar!"
Jack notice Dojo and the monks arriving in the mountain.
"Hold on!"Jack instructed and took out the Shadow of Fear. "Shadow of Fear!"
Jack used the Shadow of Fear to bring live the monks fears.
Clay, Omi, Alice, Raimundo and Kimiko landed on the mountain.
"Here they come!"Kimiko warned.
"Remember the plan."Omi ordered. "Switch!"
Lil Chica launched forward causing Omi to move out the way.
"I don't play with dolls!"Omi stated. "I defeat them! Leopard Attack!"
Omi and Lil Chica began fighting each other.
Raimundo glared at Grandmother Bailey.
"Come on, granny!"Raimundo challenged. "Let's go!"
"Pinchy pinchy!"Grandmother Bailey said.
Raimundo dodges Grandmother Bailey's sharp nails before sending her flying in the air.
The mutant eight-eyed jellyfish headed towards Alice.
"Sorry but I prefer my squid fried!"Alice retorted.
Alice dodges the mutant eight-eyed jellyfish tentacles before tying them in a shoelace bow.
Clay faced off against the Jabberwock.
"Bring it on, you monstrous freak!"Clay challenged.
Clay kicks the Jabberwock hard on the face as Kimiko faced off against the mutated squirrel.
"Kiss your furry butt goodbye!"Kimiko insulted. "You dirty rodent!"
The mutated squirrel leapt towards Kimiko, who used her legs to kick him several times before sending him out of the mountain side.
"Hey! No fair!"Jack complained as he checked his script. "Where it says they can switch? I hate when actors improvise!"
"Well you forget about them and get that Shen Gong Wu!"Wuya ordered impatiently.
Jack activated his hoverpack to head towards the Crouching Cougar.
"Jack Spicer!"Omi shouted. "Stop him!"
"Too late!"Jack laughed. "The Shen Gong Wu is mine!"
Jack came close to the Crouching Cougar and looked at the camera.
"Hey!"Jack snapped. "Where's my close up?"
The camera went closer on Jack's face as the five monks and their fears climbed up.
Omi, Raimundo, Kimiko, Clay, Alice and their fears all touch the Crouching Cougar at the same time, marking the first 10 way Showdown.
"It's a 5..6...8..9..10 way Xiaolin Showdown!"Omi announced.
"Is there such a thing?"Kimiko asked.
Everyone glanced at Dojo, who was sitting down on a chair and looking at the rule book.
"Up, up, wait, wait."Dojo instructed as he checked his book. "Oh, oh, here it is! It's in the supplemental pages that came out in the last 200 years. Basically, it's 5 against 5. Each wagering one Shen Gong Wu."
"Whooo wee!"Clay replied. "We're gonna needa wheel-barrel full of Wu fer this Showdown!"
"Then we wager out Two-Ton Tunic, Shroud of Shadows, Lotus Twister, Silk Spitter and Reversing Mirror against your Serpent's Tail, Eye of Dashi, Third-Arm Sash, Fist of Tebigong and Thorn of Thunderbolt!"Omi challenged.
"Slow down!"Dojo reminded as he wrote on the book. "I can't write that fast!"
"The game is a Free for all Sumo Match."Jack commented. "Face to face with your own worst fear. First to leave the ring, loses!"
"Brilliant, Jack!"Wuya remarked. "Bravo!"
Jack pushes Wuya away from the camera scene.
"Let's go!"Omi shouted. "Xiaolin Showdown!"
When the showdown started, a circular platform was raised high above the ground with the competitors on it.
A green light borders the circle, marking the boundary for the showdown.
All of the competitors grow very large and were given sumo wrestling attire.
"This is most embarrassing."Omi said.
"Tell me about it."Alice mumbled while blushing a little.
"I used do a little wrestling back home but only with greased pigs."Clay admitted.
"Enough chatter, let's wrestle!"Jack ordered and took out theatre glasses to watch the showdown. "By the way guys, cool diapers!"
"GONG YI TANPAI!"the five monks and their fears yelled out.
"Eye of Dashi!"Lil Chica chanted.
Kimiko dodged the blast from the Eye of Dashi and took out the Shroud of Shadows.
"Shroud of Shadows!"Kimiko chanted.
The Dragon of Fire tried to use the Shroud of Shadows, but finds that it doesn't cover her entire body.
"Silk Spitter!"Raimundo chanted.
Raimundo used the Silk Spitter to glue together all the tentacles of his fear, but it used the Third Arm Sash to grab him anyway.
Clay backed away from his grandmother.
"Fist of Tebigong!"Grandmother Bailey chanted.
Grandmother Bailey hits Clay with the Fist of Tebigong.
"Come on, guys!"Jack protested. "We need more action here! Or we can work on the car chase!"
"Lotus Twister!"Clay chanted.
Clay narrowly dodged his grandmother with the Lotus Twister.
"A grandson has to take so much!"Clay groaned.
Alice faced off against the Jabberwock.
"Thorn of Thunderbolt!"Jabberwock chanted.
A bunch of thunderbolts headed towards Alice.
"Reversing Mirror!"Alice chanted.
Alice quickly uses the Reversing Mirror to avoid being hit by Jabberwock's Thorn of Thunderbolt.
The pink haired girl clumsily started running as the Jabberwock began chasing her.
"This would've been easy if I had my real body!"Alice complained.
The mutated squirrel uses the Serpent's Tail to appear in front of Omi, ready to attack.
"It's only a squirrel!"Omi cried.
Suddenly Omi remembers Master Fung's advice on how to face your fear.
"The bravest monk is not one who fears nothing, but the one who is willing to face what he fears most."Master Fung's voice said.
"I still fear you, but I don't have fear to face you!"Omi admitted. "Two-Ton Tunic!"
Omi uses the Two-Ton Tunic to knock the squirrel out of the ring.
"Your out!"Omi remarked.
This gives Kimiko, Clay, Alice and Raimundo the confidence they need and throw their fears out of the ring one by one, winning the showdown for the monks.
The five monks cheered at their victory.
"We are victorious!"Omi laughed.
"Not a lip bruise anywhere!"Clay chuckled.
Wuya glared at Jack, who had his mouth dropped at the monks defeating their fears.
"You and your directing!"Wuya growled. "We lost 11 Shen Gong Wu!"
Jack looked at the camera that was still recording.
"Cut! Cut!"Jack shouted. "I said cut!"
Jack puts his hand in the camera causing it's screen to turn black and go fuzzy.
Back at the Xiaolin Temple...
Kimiko, Clay, Omi, Alice and Raimundo placed the Shen Gong Wu they won on a table.
"It's funny how things so small can seem so large in our minds."Kimiko remarked.
"I wonder what Jack Spicer's greatest fear is."Raimundo commented. "Guess we'll never know."
Alice smirked at Omi.
"I suppose you do, Omi?"Alice asked.
"Yes."Omi responded with a smile and picked up the Shadow of Fear. "I picked it up when no one was looking. The Shadow of Fear!"
Omi shows his friends what Jack's greatest fear which was a child Jack being very scared as he was in a toilet being flushed causing the monks to burst out laughing.
