A/N: After writing 19 chapters of this fanfiction I have decided that it was definitely time for me to start considering a few things about certain characters that should basically be happening. Even though I had made it a point to make sure that Brian Cassidy and Olivia Benson had been separated after a certain amount of time, especially since I was more than just a little determined that Amanda and Olivia eventually get together during the time that I was writing this fanfiction I had also found myself thinking about something else that was eventually going to make the story a little bit more interesting. Considering the fact that Brian had started out working at SVU when he had first met Olivia it would have been obvious that something would happen that would cause Brian to end up being transferred to a different unit and that had included the relationship that he had once had with Olivia throughout that entire time. After I had started mentioning certain things about Brian I had started getting an idea that just might work for this fanfiction, especially once you had considered the fact that Brian had worked with IAB for a short amount of time and IAB had been rather determined to keep Amanda and Olivia from developing that close romantic relationship that this short series is eventually going to be based on. The one thought that had seemed to be popping into my head was that Brian would have formed some kind of connection during the time that he had been working for IAB and that connection would have not only helped him get his job at SVU back knowing that Olivia was captain now but it would also enable him to use that connection to give IAB the information that they were wanting about Amanda and Olivia as a way of causing problems for the two women simply because Olivia had no longer wanted anything to do with him after the things that he had either done or after certain things that had taken place over the years that had caused Olivia to not be able to trust him the way that she had. I knew that this would eventually put a strain on the relationship that Amanda and Olivia had developed during the time that Olivia had been working on the case against Kylee's foster parents Jerimiah and Andrea. The one problem that I was seeing with this particular idea was finding a way to put it all into words so that it would make sense as well as fit in with the story that was being written.
Another thing that I have been thinking about at this time had quite a bit to do with the other stories and fanfictions that I have written over the years. Normally the stories that I had written would find themselves coming to an end by the time that I had finished the 10th chapter. I had always thought that by the time that I had reached chapter 10 that the story should come to an end so that the people who had been reading the story would not start to feel overwhelmed by the things that they had been reading. At the same time, however, I had found myself wondering just what it would be like to find myself writing enough for a particular story that it had ended up beating some kind of record even if the story had seemed to be dragging on forever the way that other people might have been seeing things. Somehow I knew that this was a story that was just begging to be written and even if it had seemed to be taking me a while to update each of the chapters for this fanfiction I knew that I would just have to keep going until I knew for myself that the story was finished. When it comes to this story I can honestly say that there is no telling what is going to happen or how long it is going to end up being by the time that I have finished writing it, but I do know that no matter how long this fanfiction is and no matter how many books are part of it in the end that I am determined to keep writing as long as I am getting the ideas for it and someday I may find myself becoming pleasantly surprised by the things that I have achieved during that time. The one thing that I am honestly hoping is that there is someone out there who is actually enjoying the things that I am writing and will understand the reason that I had felt that these things had needed to be done during the time that this particular chapter was being written. I would like to bid you all happy reading and I will do what I can to keep the story going for as long as I possibly can.

Brian had been working undercover for IAB for the last couple of days now and when he had finally returned to the precinct in order to get a few of his belongings so that he would be able to return home after the long day, he had found himself being called into Ed Tucker's office. Brian had known that sooner or later something of this nature was going to happen especially when you had taken into consideration that he had been asking for a while to be transferred back to his old unit where he had first started when he had graduated from the police academy many years ago. Ed had seemed to realize that there had been a number of different reasons that Brian had been asking to be transferred and he was willing to bet that one of those reasons had to do with the woman who was currently captain of that particular unit.
Over the years since Brian had first been transferred out of SVU because of his relationship with Olivia it had seemed that Ed was able to find out a number of different things about Brian and that had included the real reason that he had been transferred out of that unit when Olivia Benson had been nothing more than a simple detective who just happened to become Captain Cragen's favorite almost from the very beginning. Brian had let his personal feelings for Olivia get in the way of the things that he was supposed to be doing when he was working and eventually all kinds of trouble had started taking place. Cragen had seemed to realize that with everything that had been happening during that time that SVU just might not have been the right place for Brian and had made the suggestion that he transfer out to a different unit and that way nobody would exactly be able to say anything about the relationship that he had with Olivia. The fact that Brian had asked to be able to return to SVU was something that Ed had found himself having to think about, especially since there had been certain ways that he would be able to use this transfer to a different unit to his advantage.
For quite some time now, Ed had heard stories and rumors that were circulating around Olivia and one of her female officers. The problem was that whenever he would show up at SVU unexpectedly it had seemed that neither one was willing to do anything that would give him the proof that he had needed in order to find out if one of the rules that IAB had set into place was being broken or not. Ed had seemed to realize that without the evidence that he had needed there was no way that he could talk to the police commissioner and get him to realize just what was happening in that particular unit, especially when it came to the captain. Ed was willing to let Brian transfer into SVU yet again but this time he was going to be using this transfer in order to get the things that he had needed to cause problems for Olivia and Amanda which was something that Brian would not exactly be able to figure out until some time after everything had taken place. Brian had absolutely no idea how sneaky Ed could be when it came down to something that he had wanted and this time he was determined to get it no matter what he was going to have to do during that time. Brian would find himself dealing with these things no matter how much he might have thought that these things were completely wrong. Either way, Ed Tucker was going to make sure that Brian had realized that he did not have a choice in the matter and eventually the final choice to accept whether Brian would be able to return to SVU was up to Olivia. That was something that Brian was not sure would happen simply because of the kind of past that they had ended up having together since he had been transferred out of the unit all those years earlier.
After the meeting with Ed had been over Brian had found himself thinking about the different things that he was being asked to be doing once his transfer had eventually gone through. Of course, Ed did not seem to really care about the way that Brian might have felt when it came to the things that Ed had always had him doing throughout that entire time. At different times Brian had honestly expected to find out that Ed was going to be using this transfer for his own selfish reasons which was something that Ed had not realized would be taking place throughout the entire time that he had been planning on talking to Brian about everything that he had been wanting to happen from the moment that he had asked about being transferred out of SVU. Whatever the reason was that Brian had decided that IAB was not something that he was interested in Ed knew that there was bound to be something happening that had led Brian to return to Olivia even if this had been the reason that he had ended up in some kind of trouble from the very beginning. Ed knew that if any of the stories and rumors about Olivia had been completely true that Brian would be dealing with a bit of competition that he honestly was not expecting and when that happened there had been absolutely no way to know how Brian was going to react, especially once he had found out that once he had been transferred he would be stuck in that unit for quite some time.

Olivia and Amanda had been spending their time watching a movie with the kids that Friday evening and you could tell that after everything that had taken place over the past week this had been the one time that both women had to relax and spend time together without having to worry about whatever case they had been working on whenever they had been at the precinct. Amanda knew that they were currently waiting for Jessie and Noah to realize how tired they actually were so that they would just fall asleep which would give Amanda and Olivia the time alone that they had been hoping that they would have once the kids had fallen asleep. Amanda had seemed to realize that this was the one time that Olivia could forget about the stress that she had been dealing with at different times of the day and she could actually spend the time thinking about the things that she had enjoyed during the time off that she had been getting throughout these various weekends. Jessie and Noah had seemed to be more excited about the fact that they were spending another weekend together than they were anything else which was something that Amanda had enjoyed seeing when it came to her daughter because it was definitely better than the temper tantrums that her daughter was often having whenever she was away from Noah for longer than a couple of days. In some ways Amanda wondered if Olivia had gone through some of these same things when it came to the way that Noah was often acting when these play dates did not happen as often as the kids had felt that they should be knowing that their parents were the only people that could make sure that these things were eventually taking place.
Throughout the entire weekend Amanda and Olivia knew that there could be that one moment during the weekend that they would eventually be called in because of a case that had come in, but for the moment at least it had seemed that nobody had wanted to interrupt the weekends that Amanda and Olivia had been spending together. At least that is what it had seemed like to Olivia and she had hoped that at least for this particular weekend she would not have to worry about getting that one phone call that would end up with people learning the truth about the relationship that she had with Amanda for the last several weeks now. Olivia knew that there were people in her apartment building that would be willing to tell Ed Tucker just about anything that he had wanted to know if he had taken the opportunity to talk to them about the things that they might have witnessed throughout the times that Olivia had been spending her time at home. Olivia could honestly tell anybody that was willing to listen about how Ed had always seemed to have some kind of personal problem with Olivia and the people that she had in her life that would be around her son on an almost daily basis. Olivia knew that Ed had wanted to have someone else get custody of Noah when he had first been placed in a foster home after his mother had been dealing with a rather severe drug addiction and Noah had been going through quite a bit at such a young age. Olivia had been the officer that had gotten to the scene and had found Noah which was part of the reason that the judge had talked to Olivia about becoming Noah's foster mother. That event alone had enabled Olivia to adopt Noah and Amanda had been the one person that had seemed to realize how happy Olivia had been the minute that Noah had become her son. The fact that Ed had never seemed to understand that Olivia was not interested in him after everything that he had said and done for as long as Olivia could honestly remember. Amanda knew that deep down Olivia had blamed Tucker for the fact that Elliot had left the unit and the police force many years ago and in many ways Olivia still had been unable to forgive Tucker for these things. She had hoped, however, that the time that she had been spending with Olivia had been helping her with a few of the things that she had been dealing with even if it was something as simple as spending time with the woman that she loved.
After the kids had gone to bed that night Amanda and Olivia had spent the remainder of the evening watching movies together and talking about the different things that they could actually see themselves doing during that time and during a time in the very near future. By the time that they had decided to call it a night it had been after midnight and there was absolutely no way that either of them had really thought about the things that would some day be happening once certain people had figured out the truth about their relationship and the reason that Olivia was no longer interested in them the way that they would have eventually wanted her to be during that time. Amanda had known that there was a chance that certain people that Olivia had once had a relationship with many years ago would make the attempt to return to her life and when that happened there was honestly no way of knowing what kind of trouble they would be attempting to start, especially if they had found out that Olivia had been interested in a woman and would never exactly take the chance of taking that person back no matter how much they had seemed to want these things to be taking place. Deep down Amanda had expected these things to happen but she had also known that whoever had attempted to take Olivia away from her, no matter what that reason might have been during that time, would end up finding themselves dealing with a fight that they would honestly never be expecting.
Olivia had learned rather early on, when she had first started becoming rather close friends with Amanda that she was not the kind of person that you would want to cross when it came to the things that she had considered to be rather important in her life. Her attitude could sometimes become just as bad as the attitude that Olivia had herself whenever something had made her angry enough to want to make sure that someone else had suffered for the things that had been taking place throughout that entire time. Olivia had known that her own attitude had gotten her into some rather serious trouble at times, but now that she was captain some of these things had stopped happening because of the fact that she knew that in her own way she had to prove that she could keep her temper under control or she would find herself having to fight to keep the job that she had loved since the day that she had started working for this particular unit. Even though she had started out not liking Amanda for various reasons it was more than a little obvious that things had changed the minute that each of their kids had come into this world and had become a serious part of their lives.
By the time Saturday morning had come around Billy and Emily had started to realize how quiet it was around their house now that Kylee was no longer there. Billy had actually been the one that had made the call to Kylee's social worker telling her how it wasn't exactly working out with Kylee and after her social worker had picked her up neither of them had really known what was going to happen. They had known that somewhere out there was the right family for her but for whatever reason it had become obvious that they just were not the family that Kylee had either wanted or deserved for various reasons. Billy had no idea that Kylee had overheard him talking to her social worker about the things that were supposedly happening and had already known that there was a problem that would sooner or later end up with her leaving her newest foster home where she had been living for a rather short amount of time. When Kylee's social worker had gotten to the house to pick her up Kylee had already had her belongings packed and was just waiting for that moment that her social worker would be showing up.
For a couple of hours after Kylee had been picked up by her social worker she had found herself thinking about everything she had gone through ever since that night when she had found out that her parents were dead and her life was eventually going to be rather unpredictable until a proper family had been found for her. Kylee had once again found herself being brought to a group home until a new foster home could be found for her and during that time Kylee had found herself wishing that she had a way of contacting Olivia and telling her all about everything that she had currently been dealing with in the short amount of time that she had been living with Billy and Emily. Her social worker had seemed to think that Kylee had absolutely no reason to want to call Olivia and had made sure that when the time was right Kylee would have never been able to call the one person that had seemed to care enough about her to actually want to help her depending on the things that were happening. Deep down, Kylee knew that Olivia would not find out about the fact that she was back in the group home and that trouble was already starting for her for the simple fact that she was unable to find someone that had seemed to care about her as much as Olivia had seemed to during the times that Kylee had been around her. Kylee knew that sooner or later she was going to talk to Olivia and her partner even if it had meant that she would be finding a way to run away yet again, no matter what the final outcome would end up being after she had talked to the one person that she had actually felt had cared about her.
