Bakugo Expelled
Chapter twenty-nine: A titan taken down
He sat in that rather uncomfortable metal chair in the interrogation room at the police station, the pro heroes Eraser Head and Present Mic standing in both corners of the room behind where he sat. He was fitted with a number of quirk suppressing items, such as a pair of cuffs, a pair of anti-quirk strappings wrapped around his shins, and even something that closely resembled a strait jacket. And with Eraser Head in the room, ready to whip his quirk out at a moment's notice, it was clear that all manner of precautions were taken to ensure safety.
But then again, the police were about to grill Muscular, one of the notable villains that had recently broken out of Tartarus. Given the man's violent nature and bloodthirsty past, it was very much understandable that the police would take any and all conceivable measures to ensure the safety of Detective Naomasa, who at that moment entered the room and sat down at the table where Muscular sat, opposite of the villain himself. The good detective held up a clipboard that had a sheet of paper attached to it, looked over the paper with a pen.
When he looked up from his clipboard to the villain, Naomasa saw that there was a rather nasty annoyed scowl on Muscular's face. But with all of the quirk-suppressing gear strapped tightly onto him, as well as the presence of Aizawa, the good detective had no need to fear the villain who sat at the table across from him. "…Let's get start with the basics here," Naomasa remarked somewhat dryly, "You are the villain known as Muscular, right?"
"No, I'm the grand chief puba of the criminally insane clown association," Muscular droned on, his tone dripping with sarcasm, before he rather irritably snapped, "Yes, I'm fucking Muscular!"
The brief flare in Naomasa's mind that came with his quirk detecting Muscular's obvious lie died down when the villain told the truth; it was clear that he was being sarcastic, and the tone of his voice made it clear that he was thoroughly pissed off. Deciding to get to the meat and potatoes of the interrogation, Naomasa asked, "Do you know who it was that you went to the local hospital with the intent to kill?"
"It was some sick bitch that I know was related to that late fucker Endeavor somehow," Muscular replied, his annoyance and scowl persisting, "I honestly don't even remember that chick's name right now." Naomasa had dealt with very pissy, very rude persons in the past while he was doing interrogations, so Muscular's attitude was not putting him off in the least. Also, Naomasa's quirk did not go off in his head, meaning that Muscular was telling the truth; all that he knew was that he was sent to kill Rei Todoroki, and that Rei was related to the late Flame Hero in some fashion. He really didn't remember both the nature of the relationship between Rei and Endeavor, and Rei's name as well.
Looking at the paper on his clipboard for a bit, Naomasa looked back up at Muscular after a couple of seconds. "…The woman you were sent to kill is named Rei Todoroki," Naomasa said, deciding to do the villain the courtesy of refreshing his memory, "She was married to the late Endeavor before he was found murdered in his office at his hero agency a few days ago." That explanation made Muscular's expression shift a bit to show remembrance and surprise.
Leaning forward, the good detective asked, "I got it that you went to find and kill Rei because you were 'trying to tie up loose ends'. Tell me, what manner of loose ends were you trying to tie up?" A hint of accusation entered Naomasa's glare. "…You weren't the one who carried out the murder of Endeavor, were you?"
"Pfft, fuck no it wasn't me who killed that flaming dumpster fire," Muscular said. Naomasa's quirk did not go off in his head, so he was able to confirm that Muscular did not kill the late Flame Hero. Leaning back in his seat to sit as casually as he could, Muscular said, "The guy who got me to try and kill that woman for him did admit to me that he was the one who killed Endeavor. He even had the guy's severed head in a bag, and opened it up to show me what was inside." The bloodthirsty villain gave off a smirk, as well as a darkly amused snicker. "Heh, that was pretty fucking sick."
Once more, Naomasa's quirk did not go off, but a shiver went up the spines of Naomasa, Aizawa and Hizashi. Regaining his composure, Naomasa gave Muscular a serious look. "…Is this man you speak of, the man who killed Endeavor and took his head, the one who put you up to trying to kill Rei?"
Nodding once in the affirmative, Muscular said, "Yeah, he told me his boss felt that Endeavor was becoming too much of a liability, so the man had to be given the French royalty treatment."
Again, the good detective could tell full well that Muscular was being honest. "…Tell me," Naomasa said, "Are you aware of who that man's boss is, by any chance?"
"Hell no, I have no idea," Muscular scoffed, giving Naomasa an annoyed glare. Right away, Naomasa's quirk went off in his head, telling him that the villain sitting across from him at the table was lying.
"…I think that you do know who that man's boss is, Muscular," Naomasa said, giving the villain a look that tole him the good detective knew full well that he was lying through his teeth. "Look, we can cut you a deal on serving your time at Tartarus Prison if you tell us the truth on who that man's boss is."
Muscular gave the good detective a narrow glare, not liking the situation that he was in at all. The bastard sitting across from him must have a quirk that lets him know if he's being given the truth or not. Feh, that'll make things a lot more difficult. The villain gave a sigh as he tried to straighten himself up as much as he could, then looked at Naomasa with a serious look that made it clear that a dangerous game had been set up.
"…You wouldn't believe me even if I told you."
"My quirk lets me know if I am being lied to or not, which is how i knew you were lying to me when you claimed you didn't know the identity of the man's boss. If you tell me who that man's boss is and you're being truthful, then I will believe you."
Muscular scoffed, now knowing for sure that the man sitting across from him at the table in the interrogation room was basically a human lie detector. Shrugging his shoulders, Muscular leaned forward a bit, a hint of amusement in his smile as he leveled a glare at Naomasa. "…Alright, cop, I'll tell you the identity of the boss of the guy who showed me Endeavor's severed head." All eyes were on the villain as he chuckled a bit before he spoke up.
"…The guy that you, the other cops and the heroes will be looking for is Ryoga Yaoyorozu."
Over at the 1-A dorm building on U.A. grounds, Bakugo was sitting at the island counter in the kitchen area, looking like he was deep in thought. What had happened a short while ago was not something that the explosive teen could get out of his head. One of those elite villain bastards showed up at a hospital with the intent of killing IcyHot's mommy, but the woman was whisked away to safety well before the villain could have gotten to her and ripped her head off. As such, Bakugo and the others who were there were able to subdue the villain, although the Samurai Hero Sengoku did a lot of the work.
Now normally, that all on its own wouldn't be enough to make Bakugo go deep into thought. After all, it was just him, Deku, IcyHot and a few pros taking down and capturing an escaped villain. However, what about the incident that got Bakugo thinking was who, or rather what, he and the others saw grab Rei Todoroki and carry her out of that area, getting her to safety; it was something that a lot of them thought that they would never see again.
Dark Shadow.
The shadowy familiar of the late Fumikage Tokoyami should have died alongside his host back when Tokoyami and the other four boys who were killed on that one field trip that class 1-A took while Bakugo was still expelled from U.A. met their end. But there was no mistaking what he, as well as Deku and IcyHot, had seen. How is it possible that Dark Shadow, who cannot exist on its own, be taking any manner of actions in the land of the living while Tokoyami is dead?
As Bakugo's mind swam with all manner of theories, he was approached by the two guys who had witnessed Dark Shadow's return to the living world. "Hey, Kacchan," Izuku said, "What are you thinking about?"
About what all of us saw while we were helping to subdue that villain prick at the hospital," Bakugo replied, "About what carried IcyHot's mommy away from the fighting to get her to a safe location until the coast was clear."
"Yes, there's no mistaking what the three of us saw," Todoroki agreed, "A shame that we can't openly discuss what we saw because Aizawa-sensei forbade us to speak of it until he and some of the other pros have the time to tell us what's going on."
As the three boys spoke, they were distracted when they heard some of the girls in their class talking nearby. Looking over, Bakugo, Izuku and Todoroki saw Uraraka and Yaoyorozu talking to Tsuyu about something. The three boys figured that one of the reasons why they were all forbidden to speak of what they saw by Aizawa was because, if word of the late Tokoyami's shadow familiar being seen got out, then it might set some alarms off in the heads of the other U.A. students. Tsuyu in particular, given that she had been dating Tokoyami at the time that he and the other boys were killed. There was no way of predicting how the frog-like girl would react if she had caught wind of her late boyfriend's dark creature familiar being seen in the land of the living.
And in truth, none of the three boys who saw Dark Shadow could say anything for certain, as they were still in the dark about a lot of what was going on. Still, none of them could help it but feel a bit guilty for letting Tsuyu remain in the dark about anything relating to Tokoyami, even more so since due to what the three boys saw, they all had reason to suspect that nothing short of a miracle beyond miracles had been carried out.
As the boys and the other residents of the 1-A dorm building went about their day, many of them going about the finishing touches of preparing to move out of Heights Alliance and into the big dorm building that they would be sharing with class 1-B, everyone's attention was called when Aizawa, accompanied by Hizashi and Sengoku, walked into the main area of the dorm building from outside. After the students had all gathered, Aizawa let out a resigned sigh.
The underground hero took a quick glance at Yaoyorozu, not that she or any of the other students had noticed it. Steeling his nerve for what he was sure to upset the recommended girl in his class, Aizawa said, "The police and pro heroes just made a breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the recent murder of Endeavor."
"That villain prick that we captured must have spilled a lot of beans, huh Aizawa-sensei?" Bakugo asked, drawing a curt nod in the affirmative from Aizawa.
"The police and pro heroes, after doing a little bit more investigating, discovered enough evidence to lend credence to the confession that was obtained from Muscular," Aizawa went on, "As such, a force of pros and police is being assembled to move in to arrest the man. The team is comparable to the raid team that was assembled a while ago to move in to apprehend the villain known as Overhaul."
That announcement from Aizawa got a lot of the 1-A students talking, especially those who were interns under the pro heroes who participated in said raid against Overhaul. Raising a timid hand, Uraraka asked, "Umm, sensei, which pro heroes will be aiding the police in the raid?"
"A few who also participated in the aforementioned raid against Overhaul," replied the underground hero, "Such as myself, Fat Gum, Ryukyu and Rock Lock. A few more pros are also being thrown in, like Mirko, Mt. Lady, Pixie-Bob, Edgeshot, and Hizashi here." The cockatiel-haired pro hero gave an amused smirk and a double thumbs-up when Aizawa gestured to him. After that, Aizawa jerked a thumb at Sengoku and said, "We're also going to be putting Sengoku onto the raid team."
"Well alright," Bakugo said, amusement clear in his tone as he pounded a fist into his hand, "That bastard is going to go down, regardless of who he is!"
"Oh, that reminds me, sensei," Yaoyorozu began, "You mentioned that you have the identity of the man behind everything. Who is it, might I ask?"
Aizawa, as well as Hizashi and Sengoku (he was briefed earlier), looked mildly uncomfortable at that moment. "…Umm, yeah. Here's where a lot of you are not going to like hearing what's about to go down," Hizashi remarked.
…
The whole of class 1-A was all looking on ins shock, some of said looks aimed right at Yaoyorozu, who not only looked more shocked than anybody else in the room, but she looked like she might start crying at the drop of a hat. She had just learned that her father, one of the very few men that she looked up to, was not only the big man behind a lot of recent troubles as of late, but also had a lot of dark, backroom dealings going on.
Clapping his hands together, Hizashi said, "Listen up, little listeners. The raid team will consist of just police and pro heroes, so you all will have to stay put and let the adults handle everything, alright? Trust us, we know what we're doing."
Scoffing in mild annoyance, Bakugo remarked, "Yeah, we get it. We all have to stay put, maybe do a bit more work to prep for moving into the one big dorm building, while you guys, some other pro heroes and the police all go about arresting Ponytail's daddy because he a greedy-ass motherfucker who thinks nothing of ruining the lives of others if it means lining his pockets with just a few more-"
"SHUT UP, BAKUGO!" The room went completely silent, and everyone turned to look at Yaoyorozu, who had just made the outburst that occurred. She was looking down at the floor, her shoulders shaking as she was trying to quietly sob. Tears fell down the sides of her face, went on to land on the carpet below, as Yaoyorozu was overwhelmed by what all she was feeling as a result of finding out just what kind of a man her own father turned out to be.
The wealthy girl let out a few choked sobs as she was letting out what all she was feeling. "I…I just found out that my father, a man who I had known all my life, someone who I had greatly respected, is actually a horrific monster of a man who wouldn't lose a wink of sleep at night if he had to secretly arrange for someone to be murdered because letting that person live would cause problems for his image." Gently shaking her head, Yaoyorozu went on, "…The last thing that I need right now is for anyone to remind me about that fact."
Everyone looked a bit troubled as they stood around, watching as Yaoyorozu was letting it all out as she cried about the loss of respect, of faith, that she had in her father. Given what had been brought to light, there was no way that anything was ever going to be the same again for the wealthy girl. Hell, there was a chance that Yaoyorozu may lose a lot of the wealthy lifestyle that she had grown up with all of her life. Such a drastic change in anyone's life was not an easy thing to contemplate at times.
As the class stood around, some people entered the dorm building, those being the four female pro heroes who were hired to the U.A. staff temporarily. All four of them were part of the raid team that was about to go in and apprehend Ryoga, so it made sense that they would show up to speak with Aizawa, Hizashi and Aggro. "Hey boys, a bit of a problem for the raid team on the heroes' side of things just popped up," Pixie-Bob informed the men, "We're short three people."
"My suggestion," Mt. Lady said as she clapped her hands together, "Is to just pick some students from among Aizawa's class and Edgeshot's class to pick up the slack."
"Hey, wait," Mirko began in a confused tone, "What about that special team of five that we-"
The Rabbit Hero was cut off when Ryukyu stomped on her foot, making her cry out in suppressed pain. With all focus on her, Ryukyu remarked, "…I think that, if we are to take three of the first-years, then it's best if we grab Aizawa's boys Bakugo, Midoriya and Todoroki." The other pro heroes, as well as Sengoku, all nodded in agreement. When all was said and done, Aizawa turned to regard his three students who the Dragoon Hero recommended to be added to the raid team to make up for some slack.
Pointing at his students, Aizawa said, "I hope you boys are ready, because we're going to be shipping out soon."
Bakugo gave off an amused smirk. "Just give me a few minutes to get my hero costume on, Aizawa-sensei." Izuku and Todoroki both replied in a similar manner as they all looked at the adults who were in Heights Alliance.
The heroes who were part of the raid team assembled to apprehend the wealthiest man in the nation had met up with their police counterparts. "I don't need to tell you all that we're about to tackle a man who is potentially more dangerous than Overhaul," Naomasa said to the entirety of the assembled force that had been gathered, "Making an enemy out of someone with as much influence as Ryoga Yaoyorozu is nothing that can be laughed off."
"Hence why so many had to be brought here," Rock Lock remarked as he gestured to everyone that was standing around.
Nodding a few times in the affirmative, Naomasa continued, "I hope that all of you are ready, because what we're about to do is going to play a major role in Japan at large for the foreseeable future." Everyone pumped fists up into the air as they gave cheers, signaling that all of them were ready to go in and carry out the raid to apprehend the wealthiest man in the land of the rising sun.
…
Ryoga was sitting contently in a high-backed armchair in a parlor room, enjoying the evening before the sun set and the moon rose. A servant was attending to him, refilling a glass that sat on the small table next to Ryoga's chair on the left. The fine bourbon filled the class up with a very satisfying pour, the sound of the bourbon pouring out and filling up the glass being a pleasing noise to the ears of wealthy persons like Ryoga.
Suddenly, Ryoga and his servant jerked their heads when the both of them heard the sounds of crashing somewhere in the mansion, followed by the shouts of a lot of people rushing into the grand home. Fearing that his involvement in many recent events as of late had been discovered, Ryoga got up from his chair, sweat forming on his brow as he thought about what all he could do at the moment to get out of this mess.
To his servant, Ryoga said, "I'm going to go out the back. You make sure I'm not followed, do I make myself clear?"
The servant nodded obediently and moved to back up, allowing his master to leave unimpeded. The wealthy man made his way out of the room and into the high-ceilinged hallway that the door leading into his study was located. However, as he entered that hallway, Ryoga felt the floor under his feet shake. The shaking became more and more pronounced, and when he was able to tell that it was coming from around the corner, Ryoga turned to look in the direction, but he paled when he saw what was making the floors beneath his feet shake.
A dragon was running on all fours, turning the corner to charge right at him. In actuality, it was Ryukyu in her dragon form, having enough room in the hallway to run around despite the large size her dragon form granted her. Following alongside the Dragoon hero were Aizawa, Hizashi and the three boys in Aizawa's homeroom class that were brought along to help shore up the numbers for the pro heroes taking part in the raid.
Panicking, Ryoga turned around to try and run away. Some of the heroes tried to stop him, but Ryoga was able to foil their efforts to catch him by throwing at them servants of his that conveniently came out at just the right time to help intercept either ranged attacks from the heroes, or the one use of Aizawa's capture weapon. The heroes ended up chasing Ryoga around another corner, the wealthy man slowly getting more and more ahead of them.
"Like hell I'd ever allow a bunch of no-name nobodies who are all far beneath my station to ruin all the efforts I had made!" Ryoga exclaimed as he ran, " Regardless of what happens here, I am going to escape, and I am going to recover from what all damage is done to my-"
"RED GAUNTLET!"
Ryoga's exclaiming was cut off mid-rant when the man himself was slugged in the gut by a fist that was so hard, it had to be made out of some manner of incredibly dense stone, if not straight up metal. The wealthy man, spilling the contents of his stomach as he stumbled back a few steps, ended up falling onto his sorry rear end. Weak from the assault on his body, Ryoga was barely able to look up at the person who had cut off his escape. When he saw who it was, his eyes went wide with surprise, given what he had been told on the subject from his daughter Momo.
When the heroes who were chasing Ryoga saw that the man had been stopped, was now sitting on the floor in front of who had stopped him, they came to a halt as well, although upon seeing who it was that had stopped the wealthiest man in the nation, Aizawa's three students all looked like they couldn't believe what it was that they were seeing. The three boys all looked like they were seeing a ghost, Bakugo most of all.
Hard, crimson-red spikes that shot up into a wild and manly hedge. Yellow, with a single bolt-shaped streak of black, hair that sparked with electricity. Shining, knight-like armor that had exhaust pipes coming out from the shins. A single, long and thick tail that had a tuft of blonde hair-like fur at the end. And finally, a single, cawing shadow familiar that was without a doubt the returned Dark Shadow. But it wasn't Dark Shadow alone who had returned.
All five of Aizawa's students who were killed during the field trip a while ago had been returned to the land of the living.

END, CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
Author's notes;
Yeah, that's the main big reveal that I had for this chapter. All five of the boys who were killed a while ago, those being Tokoyami, Tenya, Kirishima, Kaminari and Ojiro, have all been returned back to life, as living beings. For those of you who are wondering how that is possible when even the most likely explanation, Sengoku using his resurrection power, wouldn't work due to the fact that said power has a time limit on how long a person can be dead before resurrection, is a no-go, keep an eye out for the next chapter, which will explain everything, as well as wrap up as many loose ends in this arc as possible.
