A/N: I highly recommend that for this chapter to listen to the song 'Why' by Rascal Flatts.
Three months. Three months have passed since (F/n) has passed away and all the students have moved on with their lives but had a bit of a hard time doing so. Ozpin and team RWBY, JNPR and CVFY, made a memorial for (F/n). The memorial was in the middle of a ring with all kinds of different markings around it, known as the Halo of the Sun, according to Ozpin.
Right now, Velvet was making her way towards (F/n)'s memorial, holding a bouquet of black tulips. She's been doing this since they made the memorial. Out of everyone, she was hit the worst when he died, she even stayed in her dorm for a week before she went back to the classes and talked to her friends again. Not that hey blamed her, she was the closest out of everyone.
"Hi Velvet," Pyrrha greeted behind her.
"Oh, hey Pyrrah," she said in a slightly depressed tone.
"Still sad about (F/n)?" Pyrrha asked in a sympathetic tone.
"Yeah, I was going to the memorial now, actually," she responded, showing her the bouquet.
"I think these are perfect for him, Velvet," said Pyrrha, as she followed her towards the memorial.
"Thanks, these flowers remind me the most of him," she said with a sad smile.
"I'm sure he would love them, Velvet," Pyrrha said as she gives her a pat in the back.
Moments later, they made it to the memorial. There was a gravestone in the middle of the Halo of the Sun, and it says:
In memory of (F/n)(L/n), The Broken Gem of Silent Hill.
He may be gone, but he will not be forgotten.
On the gravestone, was the first photograph that Velvet made of him. The one where he was leaning against a dead tree and in his hand, was a rose that was made out of plastic. Velvet then placed the tulips around the gravestone.
'(F/n)... I know that you're not here, or that you can't hear me, but... I miss you so much. I'm trying my best to move on, just like you asked, but... I miss you so much. I wish that you could still be here, right next tome... I'm trying my best to move on, just like you asked, but... it gets difficult at times. Thanks to our friends, I can move on with my life, but I wish you could've been a part of it,' Velvet though as a few tears started to form.
"You alright, Velvet?" Pyrrha asked in a concerned voice.
"Y-yeah. I'm fine," she responded.
Pyrrha looks back a the gravestone but noticed something behind it. She walks over it and saw an old dirty envelope.
"What on Remnant?" she asked out loud.
"What's wrong, Pyrrha?"Velvet asked.
Pyrrha bent down and picked up the envelope.
"To Professor Ozpin, Glynda, and team RWBY, JNPR and CFVY," She read out loud.
"To us? Who could've sent it? And why here?" Velvet asked.
"I don't know, but we better hand it to Ozpin
-Ozpin's Office-
"So, why did you called us in?" Ruby asked.
"Apparently, Miss Scarlatine and Miss Nikos found a letter addressed to us all,"Ozpin.
"A letter? Where did you found it, Pyrrha?" Jaune asked.
"It was behind (F/n)'s memorial," she responded.
"What does it say?"Nora asked in excitement.
"That's why we called you all here. To read it all together," said Glynda.
Ozpin opened the envelope, revealing a very old postcard.
"'Go where everything began.' That's all that is says," Ozpin said, looking over the card, and his eyes widened when he saw the front of the card.
"What's wrong, Ozpin?" Blake asked.
"It's a postcard from Silent Hill," he responded.
"What!?" everyone said simultaneously.
"Do you think Alessa could have sent this letter?" Glynda asked.
"It's possible," Ozpinresponded.
"If it's her, then why is she writing that? And what does that even mean?" Coco asked.
"Silent Hill is where we first met (F/n). Essentially, where it all began," Ozpin explained.
"Does that mean..." Velvet started.
"Students, were going to visit Silent Hill," said Ozpin.
-The Next Day, Silent Hill-
"T-this is w-where (F/n) lived?" Velvet asked, shaking a bit in fear.
"Yeah. Believe me, our first visit gave me nightmares for a week," said Jaune.
While the students were talking with each other, Ozpin was looking around the town and noticed some things have changed. A few new holes in different buildings or a building has collapsed entirely.
"Hi everyone!" said a sudden voice behind the entire group, startling everyone.
"A-Alessa?" Blake managed to say.
"Don't scare us like that!" Fox screamed in anger.
"Hihi, sorry. Anyway, I'm glad all of you made it," she said in an innocent voice.
"Alessa, why did you send us a letter?" Glynda asked.
"A letter? I didn't send one," Alessa responded in a confused tone.
"Correct. I did," said a voice nearby.
A voice that they all recognized. Everyone soon turns to face the source of the voice, only to face the last person they expected. There, in a broken building, was (F/n). Standing on his own legs, leaning against a wall.
"(F/N)!" Everyone screamed and run towards him.
"It's good to see you all again," he said as he opened his arms.
Everyone hugged him, asking all kinds of questions at a time and couldn't really respond to any of them. (F/n) let them go, and faced the last person that didn't hug him, Velvet.
"(F-f-f/n)? I-is that r-really you?" Velvet asked, not truly believing what she was seeing in front of her.
"Yes. It's me, my shy bunny," I responded, slowly walking towards her and opening my arms.
Velvet started running quickly towards him and hugged me as her life depended on it.
"It really is you, my broken gem!" she said as she started crying against my chest.
"I'm so sorry for leaving you the way I did, Velvet. But, I promise, I'll be by your side as long as I live," he said, hugging her tightly as well.
We stayed like that for a while, until Glynda cleared his throat to get (F/n)'s attention.
"(F/n), your sister told us that you were dead. What happened?" Ozpin asked curiously.
"About that... I did die. After the war at Beacon, I got pulled in a portal and fought against Salem, the Queen of the Grimms. After an entire army of Grimm, I was able to face her off, but I was in a losing battle and at one point, she managed to resurrect my heart back from the dead. From that point on, I started to die again. But I wasn't the only one who died," (F/n) explained, with a smile.
"Does that mean..."Ozpin started.
"Yes, Ozpin. Salem's dead, Remnant is in time of peace for a long time," I answered.
"But if you died... How did you come back alive?" Weiss asked.
"I'm... not sure myself. One moment I was dying in the church, and the next... Well, I was back alive. More alive than before, as well. As far as I can tell, my heart is actually beating, and not dying as well," he explained.
"Does that mean that you're... mortal?" Yang asked, curiously.
"My best guess... Semimortal. I still don't eat or die from bullets, but my best guess is that I'll age now," I said with a smile.
"I don't care how it happened, I'm so happy that you're alive and here!" Velvet said, hugging him tightly again.
"And so am I, Velvet," he said, hugging her back.
"Glad to see that the entire family has reunited," said Alessa.
"I couldn't agree with you more, sis," (F/n) said to her.
-Three Year Later-
"Congratulations on your graduations, team CFVY!" Ruby cheered.
"Yeah, we're going to miss you here at Beacon," said Jaune.
"Don't worry, guys. We'll keep in contact with you all, right fellas?" said Coco.
"Yeah. And besides, we're going to see each other soon again. Remember?" said Yatsu.
"Indeed. (F/n) and Velvet's wedding will be soon," said Pyrrha with a smile.
"Oh yeah! I'm so happy for those two," said Weiss.
"Speaking of which, where are they now?" asked Blake.
"Take a guess," said Fox, with a smile.
"The cliff?" Nora asked.
"The cliff," said Coco.
Meanwhile at the cliffside.
"Congratulations on your graduation, Velvet," I said, kissing her cheek.
"Thanks, (F/n)," she responded, giving me a tight hug.
We both look at the sunset, enjoying each other's company.
"I can believe that we're going to be married soon," said Velvet with excitement.
"Me neither, but I'm glad that we are," I said to her.
"So am I," said Velvet.
There was a moment of silence between us.
"Hey... (F/n)?" Velvet asked.
"Yes, dear?" I asked her back.
"I... have some good news," she said, pulling a paper bag towards me.
"What is it?" I asked, curiously.
"Take a look yourself," she said handing me the paper bag.
I grab the bag and I use my telekinesis to pull out the content of the bag. What I found was the last thing that I expected. It was a baby pajama.
"Velvet? Are you..." I was unable to finish my sentence.
"Yes. We're going to be parents!" She said with joy and hugged me tightly.
"Velvet, that's amazing!" I said as I hugged her back.
I was speechless. I'm going to be a father. I'm actually going to start a family of my own, and it's going to be with the woman I love. From all the years that I lived, these last few years have been the best of my entire life. And truth be told, I wouldn't wish to spend it in any other way.
