KANAO

"Hey, get up!" an unknown male voice. He banged on the cell door with his fist. "Make a sound if you're awake!"

Kanao jolted awake and blindly felt around, trying to examine her surroundings.

"I said make a noise if you're awake!" the demon boomed again. He put his yellow eyes in the door's window, glaring at her. "I see you! You better do as I say, or you won't be eating today!"

"I'm awake," Kanao said weakly. Her head was throbbing and the last thing she remembered was staring into a pair of strange, blue eyes.

"Eat this gruel, then give it back. If you be good, we won't have any problems, capeesh?"

Kanao strained her eyes and saw that the bowl contained something that looked like muck. She mentally retched and lost her appetite. Then she pushed it away from her.

"Huh? You're not eating, eh? Someone's a little ungrateful shit!" he shouted. "Give it back, princess!"

Kanao obliged and pushed it underneath the door.

"Unappreciative humans! Fuck, you're lucky you're still breathing!" he muttered. He continued grumbling indistinctly as he walked away.

A wave of fatigue washed over Kanao's entire body. She laid on the floor and closed her eyes.

Kanae and Shinobu, please save me…

YUSHIRO

Yushiro awakened on a cold slab in what looked to be a laboratory. The demon found that he couldn't remember anything that happened.

He looked down to see that he was strapped by enchanted chains and that he had many tubes connected to him. He attempted to thrash violently, but to no avail. The demon was too weak to properly escape.

I have to conserve my energy.

Soon, a female demon that wore traditional nurse attire entered. In her hands were a clipboard and as she stared at Yushiro, she scribbled things down.

Her eyes were empty and emotionless; they mimicked that of a black abyss.

"Who are you and where am I?" Yushiro asked.

The nurse ignored him and continued writing. Then she came closer and stared at a monitor that displayed Yushiro's vitals.

"Hey, can you hear me?"

The nurse had a faint, permanent smile on her face as she recorded his vitals. She moved mechanically as if she was a robot. Her eerie presence frightened Yushiro.

She's weird as hell!

Once she finished, the nurse left the room.

Yushiro heaved a sigh of relief. He'd rather be trapped in an unknown place alone than be with that soulless robot of a demon.

As he felt the lack of blood consumption affecting him, Yushiro closed his eyes.

"Please wake up, sir," a gentle, kind voice said. "I have a meal prepared for you."

Yushiro's vision was slightly blurred as groggily awakened.

Before him stood another female demon nurse, but she wasn't robotic like the previous one. A bag of blood with a straw was in her hands. She moved it closer to his lips.

"You must feed, Yushiro."

How does she know my name? Wait, I really don't care. I'm starving!

Yushiro greedily sucked the bag's contents dry in mere seconds. Since he felt much better, he began to relax.

The nurse recorded his vitals and turned to leave, but Yushiro stopped her.

"Miss, where am I?" he asked.

Smiling, the nurse said, "You're finally at home."

...What is she talking about?

"Home? What do you mean home?"

"He will be ready for you soon."

"Huh? Who will be ready for me?" he shouted, but the nurse had already left.

Where am I? Something about this doesn't feel right at all!

Yushiro began struggling to break free, but his efforts were futile.

These enchanted chains are too strong!

Then he laid back and stared at the fluorescent lights for what seemed like hours.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of the doorknob turning.

It's probably just another nurse.

Too disinterested to lift himself up, he absentmindedly continued to stare at the ceiling.

"Hello, Yushiro," a familiar, deep male voice said.

The voice drew Yushiro out of his thoughts and made his heart stop.

There's no fucking way it's him. No fucking—

"You're progressing nicely; much better than I'd expected," the voice said. The room's atmosphere shifted into something more dark and sinister.

Yushiro heard footsteps approaching him. Terrified, he tightly shut his eyes and trembled.

It can't be him! It can't fucking be him!

Yushiro froze as The Man's soft, delicate fingers grabbed his face, turning his face towards him. Yushiro kept his eyes shut as he felt the man's intense stare.

"Yushiro."

No.

"Open your eyes."

No.

Suddenly, Yushiro's body started to move on its own. His eyes fluttered open against his will. Staring back at him was a pair of familiar crimson, demonic eyes.

The eyes belonged to none other than Muzan Kibutsuji Himself.

No!

Yushiro attempted to pull away from Muzan's gentle grasp, but his body wouldn't move.

Why isn't my body listening to me?

"Because I've altered it; I took back what's mine," Muzan said. "Sit up."

The enchanted chains loosened and Yushiro's body sat up like a marionette. He was forced to watch as Muzan walked to a nearby cabinet.

Vials of various liquids were inside of the cabinet. Muzan's blue claws danced upon the lids as he peered inside. The Supreme Demon hummed a familiar tune, nothing but his deep voice filling Yushiro's mind.

This song sounds so familiar…

Yushiro wanted to tear his ears off and escape, but he couldn't. He sat immobilized as he waited for Muzan to return.

The demon strained to block out Muzan's humming, but to no avail. The humming had him under a trance that subtly made him even more submissive.

Once he found what he was looking for, Muzan filled a few syringes with a red liquid. As he prepared the syringes, he continued humming the same, familiar melody.

I know this song… but from where?

Then he remembered; the song came from Lady Tamayo. Lady Tamayo's favorite song was Sakura, Sakura. The woman used to hum it all the time.

...Of course! H-how could I forget that? Lady Tamayo…

"Hm. So, you still have memories? Interesting," Muzan said as he sat beside him. A tray of needles sat near him.

"I was hoping that you'd forget about her," Muzan said. Then he injected the red liquid into Yushiro, which made him wince.

Pleased with his reaction, Muzan injected him with the other substances.

"I'll never forget about her…" Yushiro slurred. The injected substances were already affecting him, causing him to be disoriented. His vision began to blur and he saw two Muzans staring at him. "...W-what are you doing to me?"

"I'm fixing you. That wench made you think that you didn't belong to me. Altering my cells and converting them into her own; such blasphemy. So, she paid the ultimate price, but you, Yushiro," Muzan gently lifted Yushiro's slouching head and made him face him, "…are mendable. I can repair everything that's wrong with you."

The Demon Lord placed a finger in the center of Yushiro's forehead. "I will exonerate you of all your wrongdoings."

Yushiro felt his identity being erased and his soul being taken. Deep down, he tried to fight, but to no avail.

Muzan withdrew, then said, "Yushiro?"

"…Yes?"

"Who am I?"

Yushiro's new mind started filling in the blanks for him. "…You are my Master."

"Excellent. You're doing well, Yushiro."

'You're not your own person; you're an extension of me, and don't you ever forget that.'

Yushiro heard Muzan's deep, sensual voice echoing relentlessly in his mind.

'Forget about the Demon Slayers and worship nothing but me.'

'The Demon Slayers are not your friends; they want to hurt you.'

'You are my property and you will obey me.'

'Be my eyes and spy on the Demon Slayers, Yushiro.'

I will.

'If you do well, I'll return your soul to you.'

'Until then, you'll stay like this; a soulless husk.'

Yushiro nodded with a blank expression plastered on his face. His eyes now looked just like the first nurse he met earlier.

'Do not disappoint me, Yushiro.'
