Being back at work was exactly what she needed. It had been a rough time, but life was finally going back to normal and she was happy. She had been worried that Doctor Monroe would think she was more trouble than she was worth with all the drama surrounding her, so she was determined to make a good impression and show her she was more than capable.

She went to the cafeteria with April on her lunch break and checked her phone. Jay had been sending her listings of available apartments, it was making her question his taste levels. She felt a little bad now that Kelly wasn't leaving but he had insisted he would be fine finding somewhere on his own.

"I'm so glad you're back" April said taking a seat "That was all just so crazy, are you ok?"

"I'm fine now" She replied "I'm just glad I can start putting it behind me and start moving forward"

"How is it going, first week back?" April asked.

"Amazing" She replied "It's been a long hours but I know it's where I want to be"

April took her phone to look through some of the listings Jay had sent.

"Where's the bedroom?" April asked handing the phone back.

"There isn't one" She said shaking her head.

"Has he seen your closet?" April laughed

"Right, there's just no space," She agreed "how are you and Ethan?"

"Things have been a little tense since his sister moved in" April admitted "But I think we can get back on track"

"He's so in love with you I know you can" She told her squeezing her hand.

"Thanks Quinn" April said finishing her coffee "With your problem, why don't you just move into Jay's place"

"I'd need to redecorate" She mused "But that could work"

"Total bachelor pad?" April asked

"Oh yeah" she nodded "But I do like a project"

It was a little after 8 when Quinn finished. She was supposed to finish earlier than that, but she wanted to put in as much time as she could. She grabbed her jacket and purse and headed out to the parking lot. She spotted Will stood by her car. She started to walk over when she realized he was talking to Jay.

"Hey what are you doing here?" She asked Jay giving him a quick peck on the lips before hugging Will "Long time no see"

"I've gotta say the ED has been working a lot better without you" Will told her ruffling her hair.

"Shut up" She said rolling her eyes as she swatted his hand away "You know you miss me"

"I was stopping by to see if you were finishing soon" Jay said putting an arm around her "Will was just saying we should all go for a drink"

"Another night?" She asked "I am so tired I just want to relax, but you can still go"

"I was coming to see if you wanted to go and look at a place actually" Jay told her before turning to Will "I'll call you later and we can set something up"

Quinn waved goodbye to Will as he headed off to his car.

"You know April had a good idea, why don't I just move into the place you already have?" She asked leaning against the car door.

"Will you just come with me?" He asked putting his hands on her waist and leaning down to kiss her.

"I'm missing the voice for this" She replied kissing him back "It better be good"

"You record it anyway" He pointed out rolling his eyes.

"Not the point" She said taking out her car keys.

"I'm driving" He said taking the keys from her.

Quinn walked round to the passenger side of the car and turned on the radio. If he was driving her car, she was taking control of the music. She was tempted to go full on pop princess just because she didn't like secrets and surprises, but she settled for something more neutral.

"This is your Dad's place" She said when they pulled up outside.

"He moved into an apartment" He told her taking her hand.

"So, what are we doing?" She asked

"I want to buy it" He replied.

Quinn paused looking up in the house. It was where he grew up. She used to sneak in and out of his bedroom window. They would sit out in the yard with Will.

"We can fix it up" He continued.

"That's a lot of money to put down" She said.

"I've got savings for a deposit" He told her "I understand if it's too much, but I'm thinking long term"

"You think like that?" She asked feeling a smile creeping onto her face.

"When it comes to you, I do" He admitted "I didn't like when we weren't together"

Quinn pulled him down into a kiss. She'd thought she had been in love before but the way she felt about Jay she wasn't sure why she had ever thought that before. Things felt special and different with him.

"Do you have to do that in front of my house?"

Quinn pulled back and looked at the open door. Patrick Halstead was glaring at them from the porch. It was like a flashback in time. She turned to Jay and raised an eyebrow.

"I thought you said he moved into an apartment?" She hissed under her breath.

"Well he's moving this week" He explained "I checked with Will and he's ok with us buying it and then I wanted to bring you here and see what you thought"

Quinn pursed her lips and glared at him before turning with a bright smile.

"Sorry Mr. Halstead" She said, "How are you feeling?"

"Are you two coming in or not?" Patrick said shaking his head and muttering under his breath.

Jay just shrugged his shoulders at her.

"Calm down Dad we're coming" He replied.

Quinn followed Jay inside. They sat down with his Dad and talked about his moving plans and Quinn asked him how he was doing with his heart problems. She was happy to hear he was doing a lot better. They looked around the house getting an idea of what they would have to do. It was mostly cosmetic, repainting, switched carpet for wooden floors but there was a lot of potential.

"I bet when it comes to getting a contractor in Kelly would help for a lower price and maybe Matt if I talk to Gabby as well" She said as they walked back to the car after saying goodbye to Jay's Dad.

"I'm not against asking your friends for discounts" He nodded.

Jay just automatically drove back to his place without asking. She had been staying there all week. It was their new normal. She jumped into the shower and changed into one of his t-shirts. He had dinner ready for when she got out. They sat on the couch and she switched on the voice.

Jay rolled his eyes like he always did when she put on one of her reality style shows just like she did when he watched the highlights of a game he'd already watched.

"Are you working tomorrow?" He asked as she cuddled into him her head on his shoulder.

"It's my day off" She replied looking up at him.

"Mine too" He told her with a smile.

"What did you want to do?" She asked.

"I was thinking the morning in bed, late breakfast and then we can go and see Will and Nat" He replied.

"So, a lie in?" She shrugged.

"I didn't say sleeping" He pointed out.

"Sounds perfect" She said kissing him.

The tv was forgotten in the background. Jay switched it off and led her through to the bedroom. She was happy to spend every night like that.
