Its been a week since me, my best friends, and my Aunts made the vow to never let the silent treatment again and to always talk to each other if something is wrong. I am currently in my room watching avengers infinity war. after I finished the movie,
Sarah came in my room. "hey Sarah, what's up?" I said. "hey Lana, get ready we have a new arrival coming in horseland today" Sarah said. "oh, who is it?" I asked. "her name is Nani Cloud" Sarah said. "cool, can't wait to meet her" I said.
"yeah me too, get ready she is coming in 30 minutes" Sarah said. "okay" I said. as Sarah left my room my husband Scar came in. "what do you want Scar?" I said with a sigh. "don't talk to me like that Lana!" Scar yelled as he hit me. he then punched me a few times.
after he beat me he said, "you're not to talk to me like that again. do I make myself clear?" Scar said. "yes Scar" I said. "good" Scar said.
"now I heard there is a new person coming to horseland" Scar said. "and?" I said. Scar glared at me. I had a bad feeling about this.
"you have to make a good impression Lana and I mean it" Scar said. "you are not to tell the new person what I have done to you. or there will be consequences.
do I make myself clear?" Scar said again. "yes Scar" I said. "good. and you are not to embarrass me too" Scar said. I nodded.
"now that I have explained the rules, go prepare yourself. she is coming in 30 minutes" Scar said. with that Scar left my room. I sighed.
I was both excited and nervous to meet the new kid. I was nervous because of what Scar said to me. I have to make a good impression,
or Scar will punish me. I decided to walk out of my room. when I did I saw my parents in their stall. "hey guys" I said greeting them.
"Hey Lana is everything okay? you seem nervous" Scarlett said. "yeah mom I am fine" I said. "okay, that's good" Scarlett said.
"I heard this new horse is a paint. I heard they are pretty" Scarlett said. "yeah with no discipline and high maintenance" Pepper said.
"why do you say that mommy?" I said. "that's just what I heard, and I think its true" Pepper said. "come on Pepper,
that is just stereotype. you know very well that paints are high disciplined champions" Scarlett said. "I hear their cold and standoffish too.
what if this newbie tries to take over the stable?" Chili said with worry. "daddy, you don't honestly think that do you?" I said. "I say we let them know who is boss ASAP" Pepper said. "well I say we wait and see" Aztec said. "whatever, your call" Chili said.
as I was talking to my parents, Nala Sarabi, and my brother Mufasa walked into the barn. "hey guys" I said as they walked up to me. "hey Lana, the new kid is coming any minute now" Nala said. "Sarah and Bailey want you to come outside so you can meet her" Mufasa said.
"Okay, coming" I said. I then fallowed them outside the barn. Aunt Chloe and Aunt Zoey walked out of the house as we walked out of the barn. "about time you guys showed up, the new girl will come here any minute" Sarah said.
"oh, who is this new girl?" Aunt Chloe said. "her name is Nani Cloud" Alma said. "what kind of a name is that?" Aunt Zoey said. "I think it is a,
Native American name" Sarah said. "oh please not another princess, two are enough" Aunt Zoey said. "what do you mean?" I said.
"you know Pocahuantus" Aunt Zoey said. "if you ask me two princesses are two too many" Bailey said. just then a blue truck,
and a trailer pulled up. "lose the truck. keep the trailer" Aunt Chloe said. "your so right a piece of junk shouldn't be allowed on the road" Aunt Zoey said.
just then a girl with black hair, light brown skin, green eyes, and a light blue shirt got out of the truck. Bailey walked up to her,
and greeted her. "Hi I am Nani" the new kid said. "hi Nani, its really, really great to meet you" Bailey said with a smile. just then,
a beautiful horse with yellow paint spots, white mane and tail, with yellow streaks in his hair. we all gasped.
we all gasped at his beauty. "this is Sunburst" Nani said. "wow" we all said with out breath taken away. "look at his markings.
oh he is so beautiful" Aunt Zoey said. Bailey and Nani then walked into the stable. I followed them and walked next to Nani.
"Everyone is here except for Will he is at a rodeo. and Molly she is at a field trip with her School" Bailey said. "okay" Nani said.
Nani put Sunburst in his stall. "Sunburst, why don't you get settled in while I get acquainted with the girls" Nani said as she petted him. Nani and Bailey then left the barn. just then everyone started talking. "is it true that you have gophers,
on the mountain range?" Pepper said. "what do you like best dressage or jumping" Chili said. "Woah, one at a time please" Sunburst said. "hi Sunburst. Welcome to horseland. I am Scarlett" Scarlett said. "this is Pepper.
this is Chili, this is Button, this is Calypso, and this is Aztec. and this is out daughter Lana" Scarlett said. "hi Sunburst, what is your owner like?" Aztec said. "Nani is wonderful. she is calm and patient. she never gets mad at me" Sunburst said.
"what do you like best?" I asked. "i like pretty much everything" Sunburst said. "gee. is there anything you don't like?" Pepper said.
Sunburst thought for a minute. then he said, "saddles. I do not like saddles" Sunburst said. "what a big baby. do you hate wearing horseshoes too?"
Pepper said sarcastically. "don't pay any attention to Pepper Sunburst, she got up on the wrong side of the stall this morning"
Scarlett said. "just like she has every morning, since the day she has arrived at horseland" Aztec said. we all laughed.
after a while of talking, we saddled up out horses for jumping practice. I then noticed Aunt Zoey was not at jumping practice.
"Aunt Chloe, do you know where Aunt Zoey is?" I asked. "she dropped out of practice" Aunt Chloe said. "wait what?" I said with shock.
"yeah, she thinks Nani would take her position" Bailey said. "will you talk to her after practice Chloe? its just not the same,
without her" Sarah said. "sure but it won't do much" Aunt Chloe said. "thanks" Sarah said. "okay practice time!" Sarah said.
Nani went first. she was doing bareback riding, and she was really good at it. "wow, she is good" Sarah said. "Almost as good as Zoey"
Aunt Chloe said. after Nani did the jumping course, Aunt Chloe did the jumping course too. after Aunt Chloe went,
it was my turn to go. after practicing, Aunt Chloe and I went into the house to go talk to Aunt Zoey. Aunt Zoey was in the dining room looking out the window. "hey Zoe, the new girl really knows riding" Aunt Chloe said.
"what do you expect Indians grow up riding horses" Aunt Zoey said. "all of them?" I said. "if I were skilled enough I would be team captain, not you" Aunt Chloe said. "trust me Nani is definitely good enough to fill your place" I said.
Aunt Zoey did not like what I said. "oh alright, lets go!" Aunt Zoey said. she marched out of the dining room. Aunt Chloe and I smiled at each other. when we got outside we heard Nani laughing. "what was that rude comment about me?" Aunt Zoey said.
"hello, I always go first" Aunt Zoey said. she cantered towards the jumping course and started practicing. "she may be a pain,
in the tail section but she is really good" Nani said. "yeah" I said. after Aunt Zoey finished the course Nani spoke up,
"hey Zoey you're a good competitor. I like to compete too" Nani said. "how about a real cross country race? winner takes the team" Aunt Zoey said.
"sure sounds like fun" Nani said. "can I compete too?" I asked. "sure" Aunt Zoey said. "cross country is dangerous!
if you fall you or your horse could get hurt" Bailey said with concern. "Zoey why don't we use the jumps that are already set up,
in the arena? but your call" Nani said. "then a real cross country race it is. this time tomorrow don't be late" Aunt Zoey said.
"are you sure you wanna do this Lana?" Ahadi said. "yeah dad I am sure I wanna compete" I said. "okay we just don't want you to get hurt" Nala said.
"I know" I said. with that I walked away to prepare for tomorrow.
