Chapter 25
The occupants of the Hotel were dressed in clothing akin to an Eskimo's. The wind was screaming like a banshee outside, and the ground was covered in five feet of snow.
In essence, Hell had frozen over.
"C-can we get s-some goddamn HEAT in this p-place?!" Angel Dust tried to yell through chattering teeth.
"I would think that the combination of fluff and expensive coats would keep you warm," Trevor jested.
"Y-You would think that, w-wouldn't you?!"
"H-How are you s-so warm?" Charlie asked.
"A little anatomical trickery," Trevor replied. "Formed a few bladders in my chest cavity and filled them with hellfire. The heat is distributing through my body."
"Well, c-can you share that f-fire with the rest of us?"
"And burn the place down?" Trevor replied, before thinking for a moment. "Wait, I have an idea. But I need pure hell iron."
Mt. Megiddo
Vox oversaw the offloading of the necessary equipment for drilling hell iron. His plan was coming to fruition, and all he needed was to find the ore.
He and his assistant walked up the enormous mountain to the summit, where a massive caldera opened into the bowels of Mount Megiddo. At the bottom, many yards beneath the level of Gehenna Lake, was a pool of hellfire.
"We brought the descent equipment, right?" Vox asked.
"Yes, sir, I made sure of it," his assistant replied.
"Good. Now let's-"
He was cut off by a loud growl from the depths of the volcano. Looking back down, Vox saw that he wasn't the first to reach Megiddo.
A huge black snake was down by the pool of hellfire, gnawing on the stones around it and swallowing what it could get. After a while, it turned it's head and unleashed a torrent of liquid fire onto it's own body. It was not harmed, but it seemed to be re-energized with the warmth.
Vox was very curious of this creature. Perhaps he could cut a deal with it so he could get some easily refined hell iron.
The snake then crawled up the wall of the volcano with a pair of legs that sprouted from it's body. It reached the top of the mountain with ease, and saw the demon lord and his assistant.
"Hello, there," Vox greeted. "I saw you eating the rocks, and I must ask, were they hell iron ores?"
The snake closed it's eyes as it nodded slightly.
"Well, I wanted to ask if you would be interested in a partnership. I'll give you everything you want, and you help me refine my own hell iron."
The snake's face drew closer as a pair of massive wings materialized from it's shoulders. It's face elongated and curved to resemble a dragon's face, and a cobra hood splayed out from it's neck.
"I already have everything I want," it said in a throaty, mischievous voice.
Before Vox could do anything else, the dragon opened it's mouth and sprayed the liquid fire at him. The lord used his powers to keep the fire away from him, but the sheer heat was burning his skin and cracking his screen. Vox's assistant was already burning alive.
Thinking itself safe, the dragon took a moment to cover itself in hellfire before flying away, stray droplets falling on the equipment and rendering them useless.
Hazbin Hotel
Trevor stirred the contents of the molten mixture while Blitzo retrieved a couple of large bowls for use as a mold. He had retrieved hell iron from Megiddo to make a furnace that could use hellfire as fuel, since hell iron was the only metal in Hell that could withstand the heat of the liquid fire.
Blitzo returned with two bowls and a sheet of paper.
"Boss, I discovered something!" he said cheerily.
"What is it?" Trevor asked.
"I took some samples of molten hell iron and your hellfire, and they're the exact same thing!"
Trevor looked at the paper that Blitzo handed him, and saw that the concentrations of iron and rock were almost exactly the same. His eyebrow rose n interest and mild shock.
"So I went to Megiddo and swallowed a ton of hell iron ore for nothing?" he asked.
"Well, if you hadn't gone there, Vox would have gotten his supply of hell iron. When he got back, all his equipment was damaged and useless."
"How are you so smart?"
"I got A's in my science class. It may not seem like it, but there are education systems in Hell."
Charlie came in after their conversation. She held a folded piece of paper in her hand.
"What is it, Charlie?" Trevor asked.
"I got a letter from my mother," she said excitedly. "She and my Dad are having a ball this week, and the entire Hotel is invited!"
Trevor blinked twice before responding.
"What?"
