Guest – I don't THINK Sabrina has done anything stupid. She is still a human at the end of this chapter. As for the road trip…I'm justifying it by saying it's needed so we can learn more about her and so her relationship with Elijah can progress.

It was dark outside at Steven's Quarry. The shroud of trees allowed little light to come through the forest making it harder for Sabrina to see where she was going. Her breathing heaved as she ran through the darkness, stopping every now as then, trying to hear any sounds that might suggest where the ritual was happening.

Cries and yells came from not too far away. They matched the one she heard from Klaus' laptop meaning Jules was close by and that she was heading in the right direction. It was a small glimmer of hope; a glow of flames was seen in the distance. Picking up her pace she sprinted hoping it wasn't too late.

"No! Stefan! No!" Elena cried out as Stefan crumbled to the ground.

All eyes in the clearing where on the pair, apart from one. Jenna's attention was at her best friend.

"Sabrina."

The brunette smiled seeing her for the first time in days. "Hello Jenna."

Realisation soon hit. This was not how she wanted their reunion to be. Sabrina tried taking a step to get closer but jumped back as a ring of fire circled her. She looked at Klaus who shrugged at her. "I did say I don't want you interfering"

"Sabrina," Jenna called again a little louder as to get her attention. "I know what you're going to do. Don't."

"Oh, she's tried it before it's not going to work" Klaus said walking closer to the ring circling Jenna.

Sabrina opened her mouth and struggled to get words out as multiple thoughts crowded her mind. Her breathing becoming rapid and shaking. "I," she tried again for words only for her breathing to become unstable. "Jenna!"

The familiar outburst of frustration was familiar to the redhead. "Let me try," Jenna's voice was soothing and eased her.

"Let me start with thank you," she began with a weak faltering smile. "I was alone. I No idea how to be parent to two teenagers, I had no boyfriend, I was struggling with work and then you walked in. Since I met you," she paused let out a sad laugh.

The endearing choice of words made Sabrina smile but it couldn't hold itself up as it quickly fell. "I think span of our friendship speaks for itself," she finished with a little sniffle.

Sabrina shook her head in denial, not wanting it to end like this. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you I'm sorry I kept this all from you please, Jenna I- I it can't end, not like this!"

"Shhhh it's okay. It really is okay."

She was about to lose the first person she became close to and she was afraid. "I can't do this without you, Jenna."

"Yes," Jenna reassured. "Yes you can and I know you can."

"Jenna-"

"I know what I need to do." False confidence was in Jenna's voice as she turned to Klaus. The ring of fire around her was put out. "Goodbye, Sabrina."

A moment of silence followed before Jenna vamp speeded over to Greta and bit her on the neck. As Greta let out a scream, Klaus sped over to Jenna planting a stake in her back, pulling her off Greta who was ow on the floor.

Jenna let out a gasp as Klaus released her and she fell to the ground.

"Jenna, no!" Elena cried with tears in her eyes. Jenna looked at Elena, also with tears.

"Turn it off Jenna. You won't be scared anymore." It was Sabrina's turn to be the reassuring friend.

Just as the two made eye contact, Klaus flipped Jenna onto her back. She seemed less frightened as Klaus held the stake over her heart.

"No! Jenna! No! Jenna!" Elena's cried intensified as the stake went it and Jenna's body started to grey and decay.

A loud audible gasp escaped Sabrina's mouth. No other vocal sound was heard apart from the fire and heavy breathing. A stream of tears fell but no cry was heard. Sabrina just closed her eyes as Jenna laid lifeless on the stone with a stake through her heart.

Sabrina was numb trying to feel something as the sacrifice continued. The sound of Klaus being thrown into the air, fire rising to life caught her attention. Turning around she saw Bonnie coming down the hillside, chanting a spell causing all around her to go into chaos.

The fire ring around her dismissed. An emotional and confused looked around to see Damon snaps Greta's neck.

"No! You were dead!" Klaus voice yelled out as Bonnie continued to chant her spell. Klaus' body began to contort as he screamed, the magic held him to the ground.

Sabrina was glued to her position as all went to hell. She saw the Salvatore's talking before Damon sped off with Elena's unconscious body.

Stefan joined Bonnie who relentless in her spell casting. Trees around them begin to fall as Klaus lied in pain against the rocks.

A figure sped past them and held Klaus to the rock.

Bonnie stopped chanting as Klaus registered who it was. "Elijah?"

This was the first time Sabrina had seen him since the dinner party fiasco. She was experiencing a whole cocktail of emotions, they bubbled inside her as her exterior remained still and emotionless.

"Hello, brother." Elijah's arm punched itself into Klaus' chest, grabbing hold of his heart.

"In the name of our family, Niklaus." Elijah's wrist twisted slightly.

"I didn't bury them at sea!" It came out as a cry of desperation.

"What?"

"Their bodies are safe. If you kill me, you'll never find them."

"Elijah! Don't listen to him." Stefan called out breaking the brother's conversation.

"Elijah. I can take you to them. I give you my word," Klaus croaked. "Brother."

The look on Elijah's face looked like he was contemplating it.

"Do it and I'll take you both out." Bonnie broke his thoughts.

"You'll die."

"I don't care," She told him.

Elijah looked at Stefan and Bonnie then turned his head to the girl who stood as spectator. She gave him a slight nod, and that was all it took to help make up him mind.

"I'm sorry." With that he sped away with Klaus as Stefan and Bonnie ran up to them, but they were too late.

It didn't feel completely real to her. She still expected to walk downstairs when she woke up and see Jenna holding her coffee to go, telling her off for not breaking the habit or saying she'd join her for a few drinks at the Grill after work. But the fact that none of these things happened and she was left with the memories and the eerily quietness in the mornings hurt the most. It was a void that Jenna left in her.

Looking in the mirror she took in her appearance. She'd been having trouble sleeping as the thoughts never left her mind. The emotions were all still in her growing, waiting for a moment to burst into an ugly cry that she refused to let out but also waited in anticipation for. A knock on her door broke her train of thought as she wiped the single tear that fell.

"We're all ready to go." Damon stood by her door.

Sabrina nodded, straightening out her dress as she walked to the door. She stopped as Damon didn't move from the door.

"It will get easier, not better but easier to manage."

Sabrina let out a weak smile. "Jenna was the first person I met when I arrived in mystic falls." She told him a story he knew all too well.

"She gave me a place to stay, a home and became the first person in my life I could call a friend." These should have been the words she told Jenna and it saddened her that they weren't.

"She was a sister to me," she whispered.

"You still have me." Sabrina knew it came from a place of love and care but it wasn't going to change what she felt.

"I do," she agreed. "And I love that I have you and the friendship I formed with you is amazing but-"

"It's not the same as Jenna." He caught on.

"No," she let out quietly as she pulled him into a gentle hug.

His arm wrapped around her lightly as if she would break if any pressure was added. "I'm sorry."

Stefan, Elena, Damon, Bonnie, Caroline, Alaric, Sabrina and Jeremy were all in attendance at the Mystic Falls Cemetery.

This was Sabrina's first time attending a funeral and it was worse than she imagined. She watched Elena lay a rose on Jenna's grave plot before moving to her parent's tombstones and doing the same. Alaric did the same, placing a single rose on the ground, looking down on her grave before walking away.

Sabrina walked up to the plot and knelt down, eyeing the rose in her hand. It didn't seem like enough and she began to question if Jenna even liked roses. Jenna didn't deserve this, a case of wrong time, wrong place made her a pawn and the role that Sabrina played would always haunt her.
