The rescue team were currently making their way towards Homeworld, as fast as the ship would allow them. In fact, they were almost at Homeworld, it would take another hour before they reach their destination. Garnet was pacing back and forth on the ship hoping that Matthew was alright, she blamed herself for not being able to protect Matthew, she should've known this would happen! It's just like the time Matthew put himself at risk to protect Sapphire. Garnet was getting more and more worked up as time went on, what's the point of being his Gemlings Guardian if I can protect him?

She couldn't fall apart know, not in front of anyone else anyway. Luckily, she would have to diffuse when they got there so she would at least get a break for a small while. Everyone knew the plan, it was a risky plan, so many things could go wrong but it's the only plan that they have a chance with.

Steven was currently sitting by himself, away from everyone else. He was worried, he was scared, he was going through so many emotions. He didn't want to lose the only person he could relate to; Matthew was like a brother to him.

Garnet seemed to notice Steven's mood and went up to talk to him. "Steven … Are you okay?"

Steven looked up at Garnet with tears threatening to come out. "G-garnet … I'm scared … I don't want to lose him!"

Garnet could tell that he's been worried about this for a while now, ever since he got on the ship Steven hasn't been the same. "I know Steven … I know, we don't want to lose him either! And we won't, we can't …"

The two of them hugged it out for a little bit, both of them trying to get their emotions under control before they save Matthew.

On the other side of the ship, Bismuth and Amethyst were discussing their part of the plan.

Bismuth looked around before turning back to Amethyst. "Look, I get you're nervous. You haven't been to Homeworld before, it's scary but we need to do this! I'll take the lead and set up all the explosives. You need to watch my back, okay?"

Amethyst was eased a little bit after Bismuth explained how they would do it. "Yeah I gotcha. Thank you, I just … It's scary is all, I don't want to hold anyone back or anything …"

Bismuth was quick to pull Amethyst into a tight hug. "Don't worry about it Deep Cut, you won't hold anyone back! We all stick together."

The two of them spoke through their part of the plan a little more in depth to try and prepare themselves for the task.

This mission was going to be difficult for everyone involved, everyone had to play their part perfectly for it to work. The next problem was leaving Homeworld, luckily the Rubies knew a way out of the interrogation facility which lead straight into the old Kindergarten. From there, they would exit at the further point from the facility to be picked up by the ship.

It was a simple plan, get in, cause a distraction, get Matthew, leave. Everyone was hoping it would go to plan, Garnet's future vision shows many possibilities to be of any use. It would take luck, teamwork and determination to get them through this one.

-Homeworld: Interrogation Facility-

Matthew awoke in the same white room as before; he was in severe pain. He was sure that one of his legs was broken and his chest was bruised and blooded from the Moonstone's attempt to get information out of him. He was determined to make sure that he didn't break, he couldn't … if he did then he would put his friends … no … family at risk. What would they do if they found out Rose isn't around anymore, and that Steven has her gem? Probably send assassins to deal with him and the rest of them.

His thoughts were interrupted by the door opening up, but instead of a Moonstone coming in, an Amethyst Guard entered with what seemed to be a bowl of food.

"Hey Prisoner, I was order to bring you this. I'll undo your binding but do NOT try anything."

The Amethyst proceeded to remove the bindings of Matthew which allow him to get out of the chair, but he could because … his legs broke. Instead he took what was offered to him, which he was correct to assume was a bowl of food. It didn't have much in it apart from some cut up slices of … purple … apple? And some berries.

He ate up what he was given, he couldn't taste anything but blood. It was nice to have some food in his belly though as he was starting to get hungry. He gave the Amethyst bowl once he finished, who then walked out and left him alone.

This gave Matthew a chance to look at his injuries, although he was certain he would get more, it couldn't hurt to try and fix what he has now. He took of his shirt to reveal a slice across his chest, it wasn't bleeding and seemed to have stopped bleeding a while ago.

The next place to check was his leg, that was the place he was having the most pain from, he was certain that the Moonstone broke it but he wasn't 100% sure. Either way he tied his shirt around his leg to give it some more support and release some pressure.

Once he had finished attending to his wounds, he took some time to think to himself.

'I wonder what my parents would think right now … Would they be disappointed? What am I thinking! Of course, they wouldn't I haven't given up yet and I don't intend to!'

Matthew thinks about all the stuff that has happened since he joined the Crystal Gems, he got a new family, new friends and even found his true love. 'It's crazy how things can change so fast and so unexpectedly … I just hope the others are good better than I am …'

The door of the room abruptly opened revealing Moonstone, she stood in front of Matthew with an evil look on her face.

"So Human, are you willing to talk now? If you don't then we'll just have to make you won't we?"

Matthew didn't even bother replying, he knew what was about to happen but decided that he wouldn't risk the lives of his family.

"Doesn't bother me if you don't talk, it makes my job all the more fun …"

The Moonstone punch Matthew square in the jaw, luckily no teeth were lost … for now.

-Back on the Ship-

The ship has just landed at the interrogation facility, group 1 that is heading into the facility consists of Ruby, Sapphire, Steven, Pearl, Army and Navy. These will head into the facility to try and find Matthew. Meanwhile group 2 consists of Bismuth, Amethyst, Doc, Leggy and Eyeball. Bismuth and Amethyst will plant explosives around the facility and once they've been detonated, Bismuth and Amethyst will jump back onto the ship and park it at the other end of the Kindergarten and wait for the others to join them.

Sapphire lead the others in group into the facility where they were met by an agate.

"My Clarity! It is an honour to be in your presence. What do I owe the pleasure for?"

Sapphire who is slightly nervous because of being on Homeworld quickly responds. "I've heard that this facility is doing well. I would like to have a look around."

The agate continues to do the Diamond salute. "Of course! Will your pet be coming along?"

Sapphire looks towards Steven and gives him a slight nod. "Yes, I hope that isn't a problem."

"Not at all, just be sure he doesn't do anything he shouldn't."

The Agate took them into the command centre of the facility. There they can see all the ins and outs around the building. She was quick to point out that the facility doesn't have many prisoners that are being interrogated at the moment, the only one they have is a Human from Earth who will soon break. After the Agate finished speaking there was an overwhelming sense of dread among the group members, they knew who that Human was, they just hoped that they weren't too late.

In the command centre the Agate brought up live video feed of Matthew being interrogated by the Moonstone.

The Agate looked towards the Sapphire. "As you can see here the Human is being tortured for information we can use against the rebels on Earth. He hasn't said anything yet but I'm sure that will change soon enough."

Once she finished the group noticed that the Moonstone was constantly beating him with that seemed to be a stick. It shocked everyone who saw it, the amount of blood that they could see. There was so much that it started to effect the white flooring by turning it a bloodshot red.

Everyone had different reactions that they hid from the Agate to avoid being caught, Sapphire formed ice crystals around her dress, the Rubies steamed up, Pearl cupped her hands around her mouth and Steven was beginning to cry. With the different reactions came the same thought 'We need to get him out.'
